The sun has long since been down and if it weren't for the Heating Charms placed on the Astronomy classroom it would be quite chilly. The desks are arranged in their usual semi circle to help created a more personal environment. Professor Flamsteed's desk is positioned in the “front” of the classroom and is entirely empty save for a small black box located EXACTLY in the middle of the desk. The suited astronomer can be seen squatting to the side of his desk talking to the large fish tank he has been spotted with all around the castle ever since the opening feast.
So come on in and find your seat. Oh, and don’t forget to use the lint roller on the small table outside of the classroom next to the sign that reads, "Not to be used as a brush for your hair."
This lesson has officially started! Please do not announce your character arriving late and just pretend like they have been in class all along. You are free to jump in any time and should use the lesson progression links to keep up.

Bart watched some more this was entertaining and if this stuff happened all the time. Ha this was great. Boring lecture classes get disciplined by painful backs. Not that he wanted Professor Flamedude to be hurt, he actually liked the guy now if a certain Runes professor hurt his back. Anyway the Headmistress said something about leaving so could they leave? He grabbed his book bag since he really didn't take anything out of it anyway and slung it over his shoulder, but no one else was leaving so should he just sit.
Once Professor Flamedude said it was alright well Bart thought that's what he said he got up out of his chair and made his way towards the door stopping near the professor and headmistress. "My the force be with you Professor Flamedude! Get better quick we got dance moves to practice. I haven't forgot!" He gave the man salute and turned saluting the headmistress as well before leaving the class.

Sander looked up from his textbook curious to see what was going on. So the headmistress did know a thing or two about healing. He breathed a sigh of relief. Then she spoke up and told them that class was dismissed.
Was she serious? She was the headmistress so she did have the authority to do that but was she really dismissing class? Sander slowly packed his things and waited to see what the other students would do. But then Professor Flamsteed spoke up and confirmed that class was over, which was as good a sign as any.
Sander slung his backpack over his shoulder and approached the Headmistress and hiss Astronomy Professor. "Professor I hope you feel better soon. Sometimes soaking in Epsom salts helps," Sander volunteered a suggestion. Then he turned to Headmistress Truebridge.
"Ma'am thank you for coming to our assistance," Sander nodded his thanks before turning around and heading out the classroom.

Toby was yelping and Airey was too and the Headmistress was being...well, the Headmistress and Ella's eyes widened considerably, wondering why this ridiculous things tended to happen at Hogwarts.
Where was Pebbles, anyway? Surely the pet rock would give Airey comfort right about now. The blonde craned her neck to see if the rock creature was on his desk but didn't immediately spot it. Perhaps it was already tucked safely in his pocket or on a leash somewhere. A leash...cause y'know.
They were being dismissed and Ella nodded, grateful that most of the students were already filing out. "Alright, you guys. Let's go." For anyone who wasn't yet moving, that is. She was sort of nervous to leave Airey with the Headmistress but he was being brave and very Gryffindor letting everyone leave, especially with the way the red head had shoved him into his seat like that. And so the eighteen year old packed her things and then headed to the front again.
"Feel better, Professor. If there's anything I can do..." Pet rock sit, clean telescopes, write a mean letter to the Headmistress ...anything. "Headmistress." She got a teeny tiny smile and a nod.
And then she waited by the door, for Alec and for Tobias cause concerned badger was concerned.

Adi was disappointed the class was over but then again, the Professor could not be teaching in his current state. He packed up his stuff as he occasionally glanced at Airey and the Headmistress. The man had to be in loads of pain. That yelp earlier was proof.
"Get well soon, Professor! Bye, Headmistress,'' Adi called on his way out and also giving them both a wave.

What what WHAT?????
OKay first off, if you're gonna shoot a patronus shoot it where the person ASKED you to shoot it? Gosh, this was why she said competent you know? But That was of little consequence because people were arguing and not listening and probably not her problem. Professor Airey was. This class was gonna be about EXPLOSIONS, he needed to get off his back and get back to the bloody lesson!!!
Alexa whirled around at the entrance of the Headmistress and talks of the Professor over exerting....sweet Merlin he wasn't gonna cry was he? Where Alexa could still respect him for having a fish for a best mate...it would have been harder with the tears--granted she'd still respect him but JEEEEZ pull yourself together man!
Lex flopped into a seat now that there was a competent adult in the room and waited for her to fix him but what she heard next was NOT what she was expecting.
Class dismissed????
"But we just got here...the only thing that exploded was an egg and that didn't count..." She muttered clearly disappointed. The Gryffindor took a deep breath and rose with her things. "Sorry about your back Sir. I hope you feel better. Have a good night Headmistress, don't forget his fish." Most. Disappointing class. EVER. Even more so considering she hadn't been able to answer a single question. This class was a waste on her part. She contributed nothing but threats to the man's fish.

Astrid just felt sadness and pity and everything bad right now, especially for Professor Flamsteed. And, well, sort of went 'aaaaaaaaww' in the inside because she was actually interested on the topic and it would've been more fun if Flamsteed was able to discuss it more. Oh well. Can't blame him for his back problems. Something was really weird about this place. As if there has been a term where nothing was 'normal'. THIS was their normal, apparently, and it was creepy and scary.
But they were dismissed and homework will be posted soon. Okay, then. Astrid shoved all of her things inside her bag. "Thanks for the lesson, Professor... sort of," she sighed. Would've been better if they were able to finish everything and maybe even have an activity about the Big Bang. "And get better soon, yeah? You still have to teach me how to talk to fish." Because that was also important, just saying.
With that said, Astrid gave the man and the Headmistress one last smile and turned around to leave. AT LAST. She could sleep alllll niiiiight loooooooong.

An watched everything that was going on, not quite sure of it since his hearing was all blotted up. He saw students scattering and appeared to be bickering and then the head mistress showed up. It appeared that the professor was in a great deal of pain and the headmistress was 'helping' him. He seemed a little frightened and then all of a sudden students were up and moving to the door. He spoke loudly, trying to figure out what was going in. DOES THIS MEAN IT'S TIME TO GO?
Hope hadn't moved out of her seat the entire time and she stayed there watching everything in semi-slow motion. The Headmistress made an entrance and took over. So much for a fun class. Things were just getting interesting too. With the dismissal from Professor Flamesteed, she stood and grabbed her things and approached the fish tank. "Would you like for someone to take your fish somewhere, Professor?" It was obvious he wasn't going to be carrying it anywhere anytime soon. She wouldn't mind taking it with her back to the common room. Play with it. PET IT!

... Dismissed?!
Alec BLINKED. Maybe they should. He couldn't help but frown over at the way Flamsteed and yelped out when he was made to sit down. This wasn't great. No. And what made it worse was the yelp that Toby had let out. The boy hadn't put out his back too, right? Because if so, Alec was going to worry more and ask the boy to stay there. Maybe the younger Hufflepuff could take up a bed next to Flamsteed.
... They were being dismissed. Right.
"Erm... sorry about your back. Hope you feel better soon, Professor," Nod. "And thanks for coming, Headmistress." The two got small smiles from the eighteen year old before he moved over towards his desk to pack away his items. They were going to get homework on what they had learnt today? Really, thinking back, all Alec could remember was the egg smashing and Flamsteed breaking his back.
Once he was all done and packed away, the seventh year turned to a younger Hufflepuff boy (Ian) and nodded. "Yeah... yeah, it's time to go. We'll get some hot chocolate on the way to the common room, yeah?" Because it sounded like they needed it. Or, at least, he did. He gave the boy a small smile before heading over towards the door where Ells was standing.

Oh. Well this had been an eventful and extremely short lesson, hadn't it?
The Slytherin watched the events unfold before his eyes. Many students running off to get the Healer, a Patronus and fairly quickly a very puffed out looking Headmistress. Flamsteed looked very much in pain and it was a good idea to dismiss the class but Terry couldn't help but feel just a little bit disappointed. He had been looking forward to Astronomy after all. Briefly glancing around the room at the students leaving, Terry grabbed hold of his bag and shoved his notes and textbook back within it, zipping it up and throwing it over onto his shoulder.
"Well I hope you feel better soon" he nodded towards the Astronomy Professor with a sympathetic smile. No really, he liked Astronomy. It was a class he quite wanted to pass. Plus Flamsteed was a good teacher, one of his favourites probably.
"Headmistress" he nodded his head respectfully towards the leader of the school with a smile as he made his way out of the classroom. Well, at least he could go to bed now.

Her slow approach to the Astronomer ended when she reached his side with a big, broad smirk.
"MISTER Flamsteed," she tilted her head and stared at his odd condition. "Did you overexert yourself a little bit with a tap-dancing routine? Or was it 'jump the moon' jumping jacks? Or a 'reach for the stars' stretching routine? Perhaps you tried too hard to impress Professor Romanos with some of her vampire yoga?" She laughed at her own joke and placed a firm hand on his shoulder to steady him.
"Contrary to what Mr. Odessa may think, I believe it will be best if you just... have a seat." And with a small, tiny, gentle little push to his shoulder, the redhead guided Flamsteed back into the seat.
Helpful, see?

He was, however, able to lift his head enough to see the woman slowly make her way towards him like a feline monster stalking its prey. If it weren't for the fact that he could now see right up her nose, since she was standing over him and he was looking up at her, he was pretty sure that his knees would be shaking uncontrollably. However, seeing the Headmistress from this new perspective had made things feel just a but more humorous.

"I bent over to p-p-p-pick up my wand," he muttered, his ears turning a bit red by some of her comments.
"YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUCH!"
The Astronomy professor howled in pain once again as he was PUSHED into the seat his students had provided to him. His back hit the back of the chair, causing another yelp and, before he could register exactly what had just happened, his eyes were twinkling and NOT because there were stars in him. Involuntary human response to pain. That was all.
She was going to kill him. The woman was going to kill him.
And now he disliked felines even more.

Tessa nodded in response to the Headmistress. She certainly wasn't a healer, but she had patched up herself enough times to know that extra hands were always helpful. "Just let me know if you need it," she repeated, staying off to the side so that she wasn't in the way. Crowding was no fun when you were injured, nor was it helpful to those who did know what they were doing.
No, no NO! Don't move him! Tessa winced as the Professor was guided into a chair. It just seemed like a bad idea to move someone with a back injury- although she was sure with magic almost anything could be fixed. It would just be excruciatingly painful- the Professors screams concurred with that thought. She winced to herself, keeping her mouth shut for the moment. You don't mess with anyone trying to work a healing. If they're distracted, it could make things worse. She hid a smile as that thought brought back a handful of examples in her mind.
Oh, class was dismissed? She gathered her things and moved to a closer seat to the Professor and Headmistress. "I can stay behind," she said, placing her things on a nearby seat and looking at the Headmistress. "I fell off a broom and hurt my back once- it was excruciating, but you'll get through it," she assured the Professor with a grin. "Soon you'll be good as new!"
Was Kace's reaction to when the professor screamed out in pain. He felt bad for him. I guess sitting down in a chair was a horrible idea. He even felt the pain from here. He stayed as far back as he could. He knew the prefects and the headmistress had it covered. But at least the professor knew he cared.
Then he heard the class was over and it seemed logical to do it. Kace went to go get his stuff and then went to the professor and said, "I hope you feel better Professor..." he smiled.
Then he smiled toward the headmistress and nodded towards her respectfully. "Thanks for the help headmistress."
Then he went back to the common room ready to relax.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
No Orsino wasn't lurking around Outside the classroom looking for the perfect opportunity to reclaim the fish....okay yes he was. He believed nothing Flamsteed said about that fish being his friend. It was a ridiculous excuse to keep it as a pet.
So yes he had heard all the moaning and groaning from Blondo. Saw the students rush out to retrieve the Healer, then saw Anastasia rush in. Not yet, he needed to wait for the class to clear out before he can go in for the Fish.
But no, all the weak wailing that Blondo was making had gotten to his ears and softened his heart. "Headmistress, I heard the whimpish....the uhhhh I heard Flamsteed crying...in pain." his eyes were focused more on the Bass as he said this. "Anything needed of me while I'm up here? To help the Fi...Flamsteed"
That caught Toby's attention well and proper, and the Hufflepuff blinked up at the Headmistress, and then at Professor Airey as the man agreed. On one hand, that was sad 'cause like... Toby liked Astronomy, and he liked Airey too, and didn't like to see his professor in pain. But then he had to get himself to his dorm where he could check a mirror, PRONTO.
The third year hurriedly packed up all his notes and writing materials, and finally his textbook. When everything was thrown haphazardly into his bag, Toby gave Airey a lingering look of concern, but decided not to say anything because sometimes when you were in pain that was all you could focus on. This seemed like one of those times.
So he didn't say anything. He just slung his bag over his shoulder and hurried out the door, trying to give Ella and Alec (who were like right there) a confident smile as he did. But he sort of failed, and he felt his lower lip threaten to tremble, so Toby just bowed his head again and left and tried to make it back to his dormitory as quickly as his body would take him.

There was such chaos... why wasn't anyone going to get the healer? Thankfully a younger student finally went, and Sarah was pleased. What about these suggestions to move the professor? It was common knowledge that one someone is hurt in an area affecting a bone, ordinary layman do not move them. Like when her cousin fell out of a tree, they were told not to move her, as in such a fall the leg is usually broken and moving her would cause more harm than good. (Her cousin shocked them all though as she emerged unscathed...). Than some older student sent a patronus - to the headmistress of all people. With Lafay, Vinteren and French gone, the headmistress was one of the members of the staff that Sarah least trusted. And she made the professor sit down... West's idea was way better, however Sarah did not say anything, knowing that when dealing wtih people like the headmistress, nothing you say will change what they are doing.
Class dismissed... Sarah tore herself away from the excitementm but somehow eager to leave the room so she could vent out her fustration.
"Feel better Proffessor, I hope to see you up and about, hopping, skipping and jumping in no time" She said with a smile.
This white hair talk meant that she had to make a stop in the library... This was all very strange.

Class ending was probably a good thing. Didn't look like Airey was gonna be fixed any time soon, and trying to get anyone else to do the lesson would probably just make it boring. So Penelope gathered up her things and headed for the door. "Hope you feel better soon, Professor," she said with a nod to him and the Headmistress and then headed out of the room.

She grinned apologetically at the man then headed out the door and down the corridor.

In through the nose and out with the mouth. Or was it in with the mouth and out with the nose? Either way, the astronomer was slowly calming his breathing, which also helped his body relax just a little which also helped with the pain. He had been lying to himself earlier, this was much worse then his initial injury back the he was an Astronaut Candidate.

Ah yes, magnesium sulphate. He had been told about this home remedy for pain by his mother before. With no scientific evidence to back up the claim, he was skeptical to try it. Seemed to be one of those 'if you believe it will help you then it will' sorts of cases. Which was completely illogical to the man. Still, he gave the Hufflepuff a nod. "Thank you, I'll keep it in mind."
Which he would....with a grain of salt. Oh oh oh he amused himself with his thoughts.

MISS CAMBRIDGE!
Airey was touched that she remembered Tiberius over in there beside his desk. Poor bloke was just swimming along and probably beside his fishy self with the feeling of helplessness that came without having opposable thumbs.
"Thank you, Miss Cambridge," he smiled - all squirmy feelings put to the side for the time being.
And, honestly, we promise you will get to blow something up at some point this term.

Before he could reply to the boy, Mr. Summers handled the situation. Good. Stellar. He nodded towards Mr. Tinker just to confirm what the Head Boy had said - which had been a confirmation of what the professor and Headmistress had said.

"How thoughtful of you, Miss Evans," he smiled at the Ravenclaw. She did seem to have a fascination for Tiberius. Who wouldn't though? The bloke was a fascinating person. Returning Captain to his office would be the best solution, but no one except for him knew the proper charms to unlock it.
Well, Medea also knew since she was the one who had put up the more hard hitting anti theft and defensive spellwork.
And whoever it was who had broken into his office and stolen his tie. He still missed that tie. Maybe he should put those missing posters back up again.
"Do you mind helping transporting him to the hospital wing?" At least he assumed that is where he would be heading next. Surely the Headmistress wasn't going to nurse him back to health in her office.

Ah yes, quidditch injuries. He had suffered his fair share of those over the years. He appreciated her positive words though, even if they implied that he was being a bit of a sissypants. "I've suffered worse," he winced. Or, well, so he was trying to tell himself. At least there was no emotional attachment with this injury. Mr. Lecium received a smile before the boy left the classroom. Thank you for your well wishes young man.

And a small smile was also directed towards you, Mr. Tempus. If he had a bit more pep left in him right now he would have attempted singing his own rendition of 'Don't Cry for me Argentina' since the Hufflepuff looked so choked up over the whole incident.

This white hair talk meant that she had to make a stop in the library... This was all very strange.
"I hope so too, Miss Edwards," he said in reply to the Gryffindor before she left the classroom.

"Thank you, Miss Greenwell," he nodded towards the young woman.
Things couldn't get any worse, right?

ABORT ABORT ABORT!
WRONG! SO WRONG! OH SO VERY VERY WRONG.
So what if the man had a moderately low tolerance for pain. That was allowed! Better that then smelling like a troll that had bathed in honey and looking like one.
Airey looked back to the Headmistress and then back to the Groundskeeper. Probably didn't matter whatever he said, but one thing was for sure was that he did not want that man's hands all over his suit.

She grinned apologetically at the man then headed out the door and down the corridor.
..............He was not 40 YET thank you very much. Still had a few years before that (4 come December actually).
"You are dismissed, Miss Newell," he reminded her gently before she left. Did he look 40? He had always been told that he looked younger than his age. Or maybe it had been that he acted younger than his age....

"This is just my centrifuge training induced injury flaring up I'm sure."
Oh, his wand was still there on the ground.
"Miss Hedge, would you mind fetching my wand for me?" So it could stop taunting him.
Positive words always seemed to help when she was injured- she just hoped they were doing the same for Professor Flamsteed. "That doesn't sound like any fun," she replied with a small smile. "Injuries come with the dangerous lives we live," she added with a grin. Hey, smiles always helped with healing too.
His wand? She looked around and finally spotted it. "Of course," she said, bending down to pick it up. Her hair dropped down to her eyes, revealing more grey among the strands. She quickly tucked it back and straightened slowly- her back better not start complaining too.
"Where would you like it, Professor?" she asked, not sure if she should hand it to him, or put it nearby.

Lux nodded at the Professor. It could have been their little secret if he ate something in class, but if he wanted to play it safe she would be okay with it too. "Is there anything I can do to help you, Professor?" She saw Tessa get his wand for him, but maybe she could do something else to be of assistance.

Although he was a little grateful to be off his feet. He was just less than enthusiastic about the methodology she had used to get him into this position.
He looked over at the black box on his desk with a heavy heart. So much for having a stellar activity to start the term off with. Not to mention completing his lesson. In fact, he was going to need to rethink his remaining lessons. Oh sweet solstice what had he ever done to deserve this?
"Heeee -- Heeeeeee ----Headmistress Truebridge is right. Class dimiiiiiiii OUCH sssssed," he announced, wincing through the pain it took to do something as simple as breathe. "Finish re-re-READING the chaaaa AAAAAH pter on the Big Bang Theory on your OWN. Hooo OOOOOOOOOOOOOW mework will be posted OOOOOO OOOOW OOON announcement board...." Whenever he got out of the hospital wing.
And then he tried to put on a brave smile for his students as they departed - SOME before HE had dismissed them and this did NOT sit well with him - despite his eyes being a bit misty.
There, see! She was proven right. Anastasia kept that big smirk on her face as Flamsteed dismissed his class. About time, too!

Even more so considering she hadn't been able to answer a single question. This class was a waste on her part. She contributed nothing but threats to the man's fish.

Really, thinking back, all Alec could remember was the egg smashing and Flamsteed breaking his back.

"Good night, Sander, Ella, Alec, Alexa....and everyone....." Including those kind kids whose names she didn't yet know. "Thanks for coming to class!" She gave them all smiles and a cheery wave as they left.
It was just so pleasant to watch others in pain. Wasn't that just the best? Hum de dum, sure was.

Stay behind? Annie hadn't been being literal when she told the Gryffindor she could help... she really had no plan here, and now the girl was forcing her to improvise on the spot. Hmmph.

"Mr. Kirby!" the redhead motioned him over to the chair scene. "You're just in time, actually. We need to get Flamsteed to the Hospital Wing in the most efficient manner possible... right now, I believe the chair is acting as a back brace for him, and we don't want him to fall off it. Think you can give him a lift in it down to the third floor?"
She was being literal this time.
"Flamsteed..." She turned back to the Astronomy man. "How do you feel about permanent sticking charms?" Or rope?

Dangerous lives we live. Ha. Spoken like a Gryffindor. What was life without a little risk, right? Injuries only proved that you were willing to take the chance rather than play it safe.
"If you could just hand it to me," he nodded in appreciation. "Gently, if you will."

WHAT?!
Airey sat up straighter in his seat and groaned at the shooting pain that occurred because of it. No sudden movements. Needed to remember no sudden movements. But that was like telling a a star not to emit particle radiation. IT JUST WAS NOT POSSIBLE.
And speaking of not possible.
"No, no...nooooooooo...not going to happen," he said as he shook his head vigorously. Again. Sudden movements. Should not do that. "No offense, Headmistress, but I would rather be carried through the castle like some sort of parade creature than have a permanent sticking charm administered on one of my suits."

Hope beamed and slung her bag across her body leaving her hands free. "It would be my pleasure to do so, Professor." So long as no one objected to her doing it and if they did she wasn't going to be too happy with that person. However, seeing as the Headmistress and Mr. Kirby were going to be preoccupied with Professor Flamsteed, there really was no question against Hope doing it. Everyone else was either busy or had left the classroom.
She bent done and managed to lift the tank with ease. Yes. Hospital wing. Third floor. She looked down upon the swimming fish and smiled with elation. She didn't know how long it would take for Professor Flamsteed to fully recover from those, so maybe she could offer to help take care of the fish and his other pets for him. Mhm.

Awww, man. Lux had hoped she could help take poor Professor Flamsteed to the Nurse. But she supposed that he would be alright with the Headmistress and Groundskeeper looking after him. Nodding, she figured she could be a good Puff and do her work like he asked her to. "Okay! Maybe you can have your Chocolate Frog when you are allll better."
Being dismissed, she made her way towards the door. "Good night, Professor, and Headmistress, and Groundskeeper person, and everyone else here." With a final wave, she was out the door.
Dangerous lives we live. Ha. Spoken like a Gryffindor. What was life without a little risk, right? Injuries only proved that you were willing to take the chance rather than play it safe.

It was a shame.. Professor Flamey was so so nice.
Lucas shuffled in to stand before him and made an apologetic face.
"Sorry I broke you, Professor. I didn't mean it."
Next time, he'd keep his rants to himself.
