1 Sarah was so nervous.. like her whole future depended on this liscence... Not really, she could try again. The thing was that Sarah had never failed anything school related in her life. But this would be harder, the practical part. The theory would probably be a breeze. She had read through her notes the day before for that. She just wished she had practiced more, the practical always scared her? What if she lost concentration? Eek. Sarah sat dwon and began to write... It was easy at first, but when she got to the last question she was scared about the length. She did not want to write too much for that, but she had so much to add... In the end she cut her original answer dramatically, she wished they gave a wordcount. She brought her paper forward and gave a smile. This man was so good to take some time to do this for the school. He was probably being paid, but who cared. |
Post 6 Nigel did stay in his hoop just to make sure he was all there. He should have checked after each apparition. But was too excited he was doing to it remember. After a quick glance he saw he was whole. Nothing removed or missing. Awesome. He left the hoop sure he was done now. He did the front to back. To the hoop. Over the fake lava, and right back to the hoop. He was done. Now all that was left is the instructors had to check to see if there was no splinching. Well now the fun of waiting. He went over to where Cat and Theo were and waited to be examined. Fun |
Post 7 Tessa let out a breath of relief. All of her apparitions had gone well- with only one case where she hadn't done it on the first try. Not bad, right? She walked up to the supervisors with a tired smile. She was exhausted- mentally and physically. But it was a good feeling. That meant she had tried her hardest. "I have completed all of the tasks, I'm ready to be checked for splinching," she said, her smile widening. Now, the true question- had she passed? |
Post 5 One more thing stood between her and her apparition license and that was another hoop. But that was brilliant, yeah? Because Ella had done the hoop jumping thing several times already, during the lesson and once during this test. She knew she could do it. If confidence was key, she was all set for this particular task. So from where she stood, Ella focused on the hoop on the right. She focused all her attention on the center of that one, knowing she needed to land safely inside. This was it, just one more thing to do and she was done. The anticipation was almost enough to distract her. Almost. Destination? She was going right into the middle of that right hoop. Determination? She had it. She could see herself standing in the hoop, a smile on her face. Deliberation. Yup. Her mind was made up. This was happening. And after taking a deep breath and closing her eyes, she felt herself turning on the spot. The pressure was welcome this time because she knew what was waiting for her and all she could do was will herself to land. Once her feet were on the ground again, the eighteen year old peeked her eyes open. One first, and then the other, a slow smile playing on her lips because she did it, she was IN the hoop. DJHUHDJSHJGDJGJGKHG! She let out a little squeak of excitement and then slapped a hand over her mouth, embarrassed. This was a big deal though, right? GAH! She was SO excited. Could she flail about this with Sophie later? She didn't even care if it hurt. |
Post #3 One successful apparition was down. One task had been completed. And he had... ... lots more to go. ... No! He shouldn't be thinking like that. Just... tackle the others? One at a time? Awesome idea. Nodding to himself, Alec glanced over at the board. Apparate to one of the three hoops? Grey eyes flitted over towards the hoops that were twenty feet ahead of him instead. This was a lot like the practice when they had to apparate into a, heh, hoop. Which he had managed to do. There was a small difference, though, in that he had placed a cushion near the hoop which he had then faceplanted into once he had apparated into the hoop. ... There... was no way he'd be able to faceplant onto the floor. Or he shouldn't do that. More deep breaths were being taken now as he focused his attention on the middle hoop in particular. That one. That was the one he was going to apparate into. He was going to make sure to do it because... he can. Or had managed to do it at least once. See, there was both destination and determination right there. It was funny how both of those went hand in hand. Now apparating. Step forward. Spin. Move with deliberation... ... The tightening sensation around his chest was back, forcing himself to squeeze his eyes shut even more. Did Apparating have to come with this sensation too? Couldn't it be something a bit more... nice? Fun? Less of the hurting chest part because he really didn't appreciate that. His feet slammed into the ground once again, something else he didn't quite appreciate. Alec peeked open his eyes and looked down and around him. ... Was that... the hoop? Looking over at the other two and then at his spot... the boy grinned. The middle hoop. Hey there! Could he take a small break? Please? Did he have enough time? |
Post 6 All done, yeah? Ella took a few minutes to catch her breath, feet still firmly planted in the center of the hoop. Her chest still felt sort of compressed even after she'd landed but her excitement overtook any sort of panicky feeling she'd normally be feeling. All she really wanted to do was feel well enough to go get checked out. She was sure all her fingers and toes were accounted for but she knew the rules. Deep breath in, deep breath out, in, out, breathe. Now she felt better. Defintiely. After stepping out of the hoop and looking back at it with a smile, the blonde slowly headed over to the instructor dude and held her arms out in front of her. "Ready for inspection, Sir." GRIN! And others were waiting too? Excited looks for them. This was brilliant, yeah? |
Post 6! After having completed all the tasks that had been written on the board Tag gave it another look and realized he had done all the hard parts of the apparition test. Perfect. He was nearly done. Now, all he had to do was go see the instructor and or his assistant, they would check him out and then he was all good to go? Or do they pass, fail the student on the spot? That was quite scary. So, Tag made his way around the hall, making sure to not get in any of his classmates way, and walked all the way up to the front of the hall where the instructor stood. Tag gave either the man or his assistant a small smile before speaking "Hello, I've finished all the tasks that's been written on the board. Does it matter who checks me for splinching, or no?" There would be no more apparating or anything like that, right? But anyway, Tag simply stood there quietly waiting for the final say. |
Post 5 Mo flexed and rolled out his shoulders, which had gone all tight and hunched after that last BIG apparition across the puddle. For all that he'd been so worried, it was kind of nice to note that he only had one more apparition left. Not something to take too lightly, but it certainly wasn't as stressful as the first few tasks had been. He decided to aim for the middle hoop again, not out of safety this time, but because it was like an old friend. Return from whence you came and all that. After stepping back carefully from the edge of the puddle, Mo resumed that same loose, comfortable stance that he'd discovered - the one that didn't pinch his lungs and joints in an uncomfortable vice. Breathe in, breathe out... and ready. One last successful apparition, and Mo could treat himself to cake in the kitchen. Hopefully, Cat would be successful too, and they could have a party. But focus on the moment for now. Mo closed his eyes as he deliberately cleared his mind and pictured his destination, the middle hoop. And he certainly was determined, as would anyone who didn't prefer to leave behind vital body parts. He turned on the spot and willed himself into that hoop across the room. It made sense to do this over and over, really, because this was almost starting to feel easy. No, not easy... but normal. Doable on a regular basis. When Mo apparated into that middle hoop, he pretty much had himself convinced that it would be easy someday and that he wouldn't mind having to always get about via this method of transportation. Almost, but not quite. Heh. At least he'd apparated. |
Post #4 ... So... he needed to hurry up if he wanted to get this done in time. Yeah. Glancing over at the board, Alec squinted a little to see the next set of instructions. Obstacles? His eyes tore away from the board and over towards... the puddles? Potholes? LAVA?! He blinked at each of them a couple of times before looking up at the board again. The lava wasn't real. Awesome. That reminded him of the game he used to play where he'd pretend that the floor was made of lava and tried to jump from one sofa to the other. Awesome game. ... Right. Apparition. Alec shook his head before looking over at... the lava. He was going to tackle that one because it was the scariest, probably, and if he managed to apparate to the other side, he'd feel a lot better and more confident with himself. ... That was what he needed. Confidence. Something that he couldn't borrow from someone he knew. Shame. So... he had to get to the other side of the lava. Which meant... he was going to try and apparate over to that spot over THERE. Specifics, again. That was the destination down. Determination... he was going to make it to the other side safely and successfully otherwise... well... lava. Fake lava but lava nonetheless. Deliberation... deliberation... deeeeeeeep breaths... ... one step forward... ... spin... The Hufflepuff was really very glad that he had taken a very deep breath this time. It didn't make the sensation go away completely but it make it a little easier to bear. And it didn't feel as if his chest was being as tightly compressed as before. ... Come on... ... And then he landed. On... ground? Was it the ground? Blinking his eyes open, the seventh year grinned when he noticed that his feet were standing on solid ground and not dipped in fake lava. He wiggled his toes a little in excitement before looking up and over at the board. He had done it! AWESOME. |
Post 6 Stepping out of the final hoop was about the best feeling that Mo had ever experienced. There were a few things above it - first kisses and first Quidditch matches as Captain and first matches Chasing with West and Theo - but it was really really high on the list. So high, in fact, that Mo practically skipped across the room to present himself to Mr. Newell. He held out both his arms for examination. "No splinching, sir! I have all my limbs, internal organs, facial features, and hair. I even have both my pockets." Ahem. Could he get a gold star, please? 'Cause this Ravenclaw was ready to be DONE with testing. |
Post #5 He was nearly done. Very nearly done. All he had to do is complete that one final step and go to get himself examined by Mr Newell and the Lady whose name he didn't know. Splinching, you know. Something Alec definitely wasn't going to think about because... ... no. Just no. Shaking his head, he looked back over at the board. Apparate into one of the hoops? The same one as before or... a different one? The Hufflepuff turned around and glanced over at the hoops that were laid out before. Maybe he could apparate over towards the middle one again? It would just be like apparating back and forth. And he had done it before so... ... Middle one. Destination selected. Deep breaths... deep breaths... Determination came next. He needed to be determined to get to that middle hoop. The fact that he had done it before did help. Really. Maybe not from this end of the lava but he had apparated out of there to here so... yeah. He nodded to himself, as if someone else was motivating him instead of it just being a tiny voice in his head. Deep breaths... he took a step forward, spun and... ... He had been expecting that sensation to come back. What he hadn't been expecting, when he landed safely in the middle of the middle hoop, was this feeling of wooziness and a sick feeling settling in in the pit of his stomach. Lots of apparition on his part. Alec stood there and took a couple of deep breaths. Just breathe... he had done it. It was really nearly over. ... He had done it! How AWESOME was it to tell himself that? |
You are all SAINTS for being patient with me. Thank you!! Quote:
"Well, congratulations sir, seems everything is all in tact! I was watching you complete all your tests as well and it seems like you know your stuff. You've passed!" he said with a smile. Cale handed him a small piece of parchment indicating that the boy had passed. All he had to do was sign it and hand it back to him so they knew what name to put on his license! Quote:
"Great job! You passed," he said, gesturing towards the practical portion. Yes, go test Missy, you've got some catching up to do! Quote:
She handed it to him and he took the test from the captain, grading it magically and then smiling. "Pass. Good job!" Quote:
"Congrats, you've passed!" he said, handing her to form to fill out. Quote:
"Good job, you've passed - be careful though, real lava won't be that nice," he added with a small wink at the girl before handing her the certificate to indicate she had passed. Quote:
"Congratulations, you've passed!" he said with a grin before handing her the little slip of parchment to fill out. Quote:
Anyways back to the subject at hand! "Good job, sir! You've passed," he said with a smile before handing the boy his certificate. Quote:
Quote:
"Great job, you earned your license!" he announced with a grin. Here. Take your paper and fill it out please! Quote:
"No splinching! Great job, that means you passed," he said with a grin, handing her the form for her to fill out for her license. Quote:
"Congrats! Please fill this out," he said as he handed her the form. Quote:
"Relax, you did fine! You passed," he said with a smile, handing him one of the papers to fill out before leaving. Quote:
What was with all this gray hair, by the way? Some new fashion statement? Hmmm... OOC: Ok, so if you passed, Cale just handed you a quick form to fill out for your certificate. All you need to do is provide your name and DOB. For example: |
Post #6 So... he had one last thing left to do and that included going up to Mr Newell for the final examination. Still taking deep breaths, Alec looked around at the hoops near him, and then at the obstacle selection and then around the room in general. This hadn't been bad, really. Lots of apparition, sure, but it had still been pretty great. The sensation wasn't great, though. That tightening at the chest area part especially. But it still felt great. Saying that he was done with this whole process and had managed to apparate successfully on those occasions. With a grin spread across his face, the eighteen year old stepped out of the hoop and headed over slowly towards Mr Newell. It would be sad if he had ended up splinching. But... surely splinching came with some sort of pain? Because a part of you was being left behind. He hadn't felt anything being left behind... right? Reaching Mr Newell and Lady -- he needed to find out her name -- the Head Boy grinned over at them before saying, "Hey, Sir! I've finished all the tasks that were written on the board." More grins. Excited grins this time. |
Post #6 Okay. Just this one small task left. And it was exactly the same as the second task he had completed so it really shouldn't be that hard. Should it? He stood away from the right hoop again, thinking that perhaps it was his lucky hoop and that his landing would be just as perfect as the first one he had done. He closed his eyes once more, deciding that it did help him to concentrate a lot better and it certainly helped him to focus on the 3 D's. Once he felt he was ready, the Slytherin concentrated on the spot and envisioned it in his mind. His destination. Followed by his determination and deliberation. Okay. This was it. He could do this! And with the sudden whirring feeling in his stomach Terry knew he had gone somewhere at least. He opened his eyes expectantly, hoping that it had gone just as perfectly as the first time. Luckily for the seventeen year old, it had. He was back in that hoop! Perfectly in the centre and standing firmly on his feet. He had done it! He had passed his test. Well.. He had to check with the instructor first of course. |
Post 7? Tag stood rather still as the instructor checked him over. No joke that the boy was literally holding his breath in. This was rather intense. Not being checked out *wink* but waiting to see if he was ok and if he was going to pass his apparition test. After a couple of minutes the instructor spoke to Tag and he let out a sigh of relief. 0_____________________0 "Really?!" He'd passed?! Was he sure he was looking at Tag. The boy stayed still, even more, and just stared at the man, unblinking. Him? Tag? Tag had passed apparition? Well, even if the man had, or could've or maybe even might've mixed up Tag with someone else, he wasn't going to question it. He passed, whether he had passed or 'Tag' had passed. But as soon as he let that thought go, all he could do was smile at him. Wow. He'd passed. The blonde took the slip of certificate and looked at it. Right, all he had to do was write his name and date of birth. Easy enough. Tag Kildare 15th December 2065 And with that the boy saluted at the instructor, gave him the paper and left the great hall with a smile plastered on his face. |
Post 7 Nigel waited holding his breath in. Please no splinching. Please. He waited for it seemed like forever until.....He passed. Nigel exhaled. Now he could relax. Awesomely Awesome! He passed! He was getting his license and it seemed like Mo passed also. The Blue Bros could apparate. Now he could apparate when he gets home for break or summer. Whenever. He was of age. "Thank You" Nigel said before taking the form to fill out. Quote:
|
Oh! YAAAAY, she had passed!!!! Inner flailage!!! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeheeeeee, brilliant! Another cool magic she could do when she left school! Merlin, leaving Hogwarts wouldn't be that terrible after all. Of course, she'd still miss the school, but the future seemed to be getting cooler and cooler! WOOP!! "Thank you, sir!!" She beamed at the man and took the form to fill out. Quote:
HOORAY!! |
Quote:
She took the parchment and very carefully filled it out. Caterina Moretti August 16, 2066 "There." She said with more grins, handing it back to the man. Everything was done now? For reals? Oh hey! Look! There was Mo! HI MO. HUGS FOR PASSING? |
Sander breathed a sigh of relief and he began to smile from ear to ear. "I passed? Oh thank you, thank you, Mr. Newell." Sander thanked the instructor holding back the urge to hug the man and swing him around. He took the parchment from him and began to fill out his particulars. Text Cut: Parchment Then he walked up to Mr. Newell and returned his completed parchment to him. Sander nodded and gave the man another smile of gratitude before turning to see whether Tessa had passed too. From the smile on her face, he knew she had. Girlfriend had passed too. Now she, he could hug and swing around but he'd do that once they were outside the classroom. |
Quote:
She offered him an even bigger grin as he said that she had passed. That would make seeing her father so much easier- not to mention helping him with his work. "Thank you sir," she told him, taking the form. She found a place and scribbled down her information: Quote:
"Here you go, sir," she said, handing the paper back. "Thank you so much for the opportunity," she told him with a smile. She glanced around and saw Sander, skipping up to him with a grin. They would talk after they left- others were still testing after all! |
Post #7 So, now he could go get checked over by the instructors. This was so exciting, he was only a few moments away from hopefully gaining his license. He could apparate all over the place legally. The Slytherin checked himself over briefly just to make sure himself that he hadn't been splinched. He couldn't see anything visibly on him and he was pretty sure that he would feel some sort of pain if he had left anything behind. He checked his eyebrows and hair and eyelashes too. Once he was 100% satisfied that he hadn't left anything anywhere he headed over to the instructors, a big grin on his face. "I'm here to get checked" he smiled, although he was still pretty nervous inside. He wouldn't be completely happy until he was told that he had passed. He stood there until he was addressed, hoping that everything had gone as well as he thought it had. He glanced around to see that a lot of his friends had already got their certificates. Hopefully he was only a couple of minutes behind. |
SPOILER!!: Tessa Sander waited for Tessa to hand in her parchment to the instructor, before walking over to her. He gave her a wink and a grin, and mouthed "Let's go celebrate, once we are given permission to leave." before turning to patiently watch the others, as they attempted to finish up their practical portion of the test. |

No, apparently she still had to do the... apparating part. With a small smile towards the instructor, Alice rose from her seat, moving to the front of the room. Not splinching couldn't be too difficult, right? It hadn't been a problem during the actual lesson, but appearing in a different spot had. Didn't matter, though. There was a lot more riding on her performance today, and the seventh year could work under pressure. Kind of. Sort of. Her eyes flickered shut, mind filling with the thoughts of how the back of the room looked like and her desire to be there. A few seconds later, the squeezing sensation overcame her. Burning lungs, pressure all over her body, the feeling that she'd never ever breathe again... Alice could tell it had worked. And when her eyes opened again, she was there. A few feet off from the spot she had been focusing on, but no one could possibly know that, and she could remedy her concentration issues as she went. Whew. One part down. |

BUT ONWARDS. Okay bye sir, thanks for that. Thumbs up for him and offfffffffff she went. - - Intense stomach rumbling as the nerves set in. Panic faces also. Maybe she could pretend she was so good at this that they hadn't even noticed her going through all the tasks. Or maybe not. Els wiped her sweaty palms onto her clothes, and took a deep breath. And then she closed her eyes, wiggled a few times and got her con cen traaaaaaaaaate on. Good brain. Yes, brain. Elodie gave no thought whatsoever to taking time to consider anything that could go wrong, because one slip in that direction...and she was going to end up a damsel in distress. And that was definitely not her. Nooooooooo. She didn't need any SAVING. Which was why she was going to ace this. ACE IT. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Comin' at you, apparition. Takin' you down, apparition. She peeked her eye open to look properly where she was supposed to be going, and then closed it when she felt she knew it well enough to get this right. When she'd concentrated enough on what she needed to, Els felt a still-unfamiliar tug and scrunched her eyes up tighter for a few more seconds. And when the tugging had subsided, and she didn't feel like she was going to fall over or throw up (skipping breakfast had been a good idea), she opened them. One eye. Two eye. Blinking. And she could totally see where she had just been from here. TASK 1 SUCCESSSSSSS. Such a damsel, apparition. |
Post 3 Were all her parts THERE with her? Alice checked for clothes and shoes and then all her limbs. Sadly, she couldn't very well count the hairs on her head, but they felt all there. That meant she could properly move on to the next task, which was apparating to... hoops? 20 feet was far, but she'd done around half that distance in the lesson. It'd be easy. Please let it be easy. Closing her eyes, the seventh year tried to imagine that there were fluffy pillows lining all sides of her destination. It wasn't as if she'd truly botched up to the point of falling during practice (save for the swamp incident, but she wasn't counting that) so there was nothing to worry about, yes? Fingers crossed, Alice concentrated all her energy and focus on that spot in the very center of the hoop. And once she turned on the spot, the familiar feeling of being pushed at from all sides engulfed her body once more.... .... and then stopped. Was she dead? No. Was she in one piece? Yes. Was she in the right spot? She glanced down at found herself standing very, VERY close to the edge of a hoop.... but still inside of it! Yes! Success! That counted, right? |
