| | Apparition Testing Cale was back! This time, he had a number of test booklets with him, stacked neatly on a table next to his whiteboard. There was a large partition in the middle of the room splitting it in half - on the side Caleb was standing on, there were a number of desks all set up. The other side of the screen was set up in a sort of obstacle course containing hoops, holes and other obstacles. The charm had already been lifted so they could apparate in the hall, but not out of it, as usual. He had a few instructions written already on the board: Quote:
Welcome back!
1. Please grab the written portion of the exam and begin whenever you are ready. There is a 2 hour time limit on the test, although I'm sure everyone will finish before that time.
2. After you have taken the written portion of the exam, please wait until it is graded by one of the apparition instructors. Once you have been OKed to take the practical portion, you may begin the practical portion. The practical portion must be completed in THIS order: - Begin by apparating from the front of the room to the back of the room
- After completing that, apparate to one of the three hoops that are located 20 feet in front of you. Choose any one you'd like
- After landing successfully in the hoop, select one of the various obstacles and apparate over it - there are large puddles approximately 50 feet wide, 20 foot deep potholes, and 30 foot wide pools of lava (don't worry, the lava is not real!)
- Apparate into any one of the three hoops once again
- Return to Cale or Misa to be examined and assure there is no splinching
You have approximately 3 hours to complete the entire testing process.
Everything was set up, he just needed some testers! OOC: STEPS ON HOW TO TEST AND GET YOUR LICENSE: You should have a total of SIX posts at the MINIMUM. You need at least ONE post for each of the steps of the practical portion (including returning to Cale to check for splinching) as well as RPing your character coming in and sitting down to take the test. Simply click the link in the post above to take the quiz patch! Once I grade your test, I will post Cale responding and giving you the IC ok to start practical testing.
Remember, any splinching is an AUTOMATIC FAIL. I will not RP Cale saying that you splinched UNLESS you specifically post in your RPs that you splinched. By doing that, you acknowledge that your character will NOT pass and will have to retest at the Ministry over the IC summer break. Misa Woods (DuckyLinJi) can also check you over for splinching and grade your practical portion.
If you did not RP in the Apparition Lesson, you will not be allowed to test. I will be checked to assure that each character who tests here DID complete the lesson!
Once you pass, you may RP your charrie leaving. This post will be open for the next 72 hours - ish. Probably a bit longer. After the tests are completed apparition licenses will be entered into the profiles of those who passed! |

| 1 ∞ 17 | RP entrepreneur | defies gravity | Miss George is flawless | blanket burrito lyfe Was skipping breakfast a good idea, given the circumstance? Probably not. Not that it really bothered her if her tummy made strange noises during the exam. She'd used the bathroom just before so that there was no room for accident during this mentally challenging time. No food in her belly, and no water. This was a good start.
Inside the test room, Elodie settled into a seat and pulled distressed faces upon opening the theoretical part of this exam. Had her brain seriously just gone blank? Was this like OWLs all over again? Was she going to need to curl up in a ball afterwards and cry? She took longer than she expected most others had in completing the questions, but only because she took the first ten or so minutes trying her hardest to not squeal and run out of the room in a blind panic. Which she didn't, and once she felt relaxed enough..she started answering the questions.
Her stomach did rumble once or twice during, and there were some nervous giggles from the sixth year when she got to questions she couldn't quite recall the answer straight off. But once she'd answered them all, and tried to check over them without being sick, she headed over towards Mr. Important Person, all big-eyed and considering if he would take a lollipop bribe if she'd gotten too many wrong. Maybe even spaghetti?
Now she felt sick.

Theo watched the man closely as he took his exam and marked it. It would be the worst thing ever to fail on the first hurdle, but also a clear indication that he wasn't ready for apparition. He sighed a great sigh of relief when the man smiled at him and said he'd passed. Well, that was a good start, then! He nodded to the man, then turned to get on with the difficult part. Actual apparition. He wished he had practiced more in the class...
The first thing he had to do was apparate from the front of the room to the back. It was probably the easiest thing out of the list, but Theo totally over-analysed it anyway.
He could SEE the back of the room just fine, so the destination was down. Determination... well, he certainly was determined to pass this test. Determined to get his apparition licence. He was so close to getting it, this was the only thing standing in his way... And finally, deliberation. Theo closed his eyes and thought about how much he wanted to get to the back of the room. It was closer to the exit for starters!! Maybe he could make a quicker escape if he apparated over there.
This thought process seemed to be working for him.
His eyes were closed shut and he imagined every inch of his magic filling his body. It made him feel like a superhero when he did that, which definitely did stuff to his confidence... however lame that sounded. Theodore peeked an eye open even though he KNEW nothing had happened. The last time he had apparated, he almost threw up, so yeah, nothing yet.
He tried again... Come on, Theodore. This was almost as cool as driving a car. Okay, it was SLIGHTLY cooler, but still all new to Theo.
Theo gave his body a bit of an UMPPTH on his next try, which seemed to do the trick. His insides felt like exploding, which was a feeling he wasn't sure he'd ever get used to, and POP - he was apparated. Theo's eyes opened and he was automatically clutching his stomach. He didn't move for a moment just to stop himself from hurling. He probably wouldn't, but let's just be on the safe side, right? Eventually, he looked up to see where he had landed, and BOOM - right in the spot that he was thinking of.

| Post 4 Arts TRANSPONSTER! Turning around once again, Sophie looked at all of the obstacles. Blimey. That MASSIVE puddle call her attention at once. 50 ft wide? Wow. That was...... challenging. She had done alright in the last few times she had apparated, so she decided to go for that one.
50 ft wide puddle.... djkfnsdkjfnsjkd
The Hufflepuff staaaared at a spot over the puddle. A few feet over the end of the puddle, just to make sure. If she ended up apparating a few feet less than what she planned, she wouldn't be IN the puddle anyway. So all good! Hard stare. Right there... she needed to go there now. Magically.
And there went Sophie, spinning on spot, the flower-magic sensation coming almost automatically. If Sophie wasn't used to side-along apparating with her parents, she would think this going-through-tight-tube feeling to be quite odd, but she was used to it by now. That was probably why she didn't puke or anything. Made sense.
Ohey! She was already on the other side of the gigantic puddle! Oh, hello, confidence! This magic was pretty cool! The badger was still smiling when she checked herself again to see if nothing was missing.

Theo took a moment to appreciate his first successful apparation of the test. Yo' doing so good, Theodore. At least he knew that even if he failed the test, he could actually do it if he really put his mind to it. He checked himself over to make sure he hadn't splinched, too, and so far so good, unless he lost something really tiny like... a strand of hair. Would he fail if he lost a strand of hair?
He looked to the hoops and sighed a little. The hoops required much more skill and tactic, and the fact that he DIDN'T manage to get into a hoop during the lesson, made him very nervous about doing it now. Still, he was in good spirits so perhaps today would turn out differently. Theo chose a hoop at random, since it didn't really matter which, and sized it up, down, left, right. Perfect. But where were the pillows? Course, he didn't REALLY expect there to be pillows lying around on the test day. That was for practicing, but it did put a dampener on his confidence. IMAGINE the pillow.
Theo closed his eyes allowed the image of his desired hoop to fill his mind, and then he added a fluffy pillow right in the center. Ahhh... and relax. This time, he did hope, that he would transport to the hoop without falling onto his butt.
Destination was down.
Determination. Well, he wanted to better himself, so that was determination enough. The hoop was a hurdle that he didn't quite conquer last time, so HE WOULD do it this time. HE WOULD. Deliberation, too, yes... he actually thought he was overdoing it.
Once he had thought clearly through all three of the D's, Theo opened his eyes and WHOSOOEHSHH... he landed somewhere else, but on his feet. Breakthrough! After shuddering a little, Theo looked down to see where he was and BOOSH, he was standing inside a hoop! He was a little off balanced, though, and he managed to fall out of the hoop and onto the floor. Theo's head bounced up like a deer in headlights to check the teacher didn't see him fall out of the hoop.
POINT WAS - HE APPARATED THERE FIRST.
Don't fail him for falling over, baaaaaaaaaaaaahh...

| Post #4 HeadGirlMC | Treddie & Trixiver <3 | Copy Girl | Katie's Ickle Minion | I love YOU more Proud that he had completed the first task, Terry decided to move onto the second swiftly after. They were on a timer after all, there was absolutely no time to waste. And the quicker he could get this completed, the more concentration he would have and the less his nerves would quell up.
Spotting the hoops around 20 feet away from him, the sixth year chose the one to the tight as his target, purely because he was closer in front of that one than the others. This task was definitely more tricky than the last one. He had a specific target point in which he had to land within, not just a side of the room. It would require just a little extra from those three D's in order for this to go to plan. He knew he could do it though, he had done it during the lesson after all. If you could do it once, there was no reason why you couldn't do it again.
Just like he had done previously, the seventeen year old closed his eyes to get a clear picture of his desired destination in his head. He pictured the hoop on the floor and the space in the middle of it where he wanted to be stood. He then thought about how determined he was to get there before the final D came to his head, deliberation.
With those sorted out, Terry felt the feeling in his stomach as he was transported from the spot. This time he didn't hesitate to open his eyes. They were flung open as soon as his feet touched the ground. He glanced around first to see whether anyone else had been successful or whether he was keeping up, which thankfully he was. His eyes then drifted to the floor where he saw one edge of the hoop. He twisted all the way around only to see that he was stood directly in the middle, just like he had wanted to be.
With a massive grin, he stepped out to move on to the next task.
Second practical task. Complete.

The next part of the test was to get over the obstacles. To be honest, Theo wasn't too worried about this one. There was no way in the world he was getting his feet wet with water or lava, so he trusted his magic enough to get him through it. As for the POTHOLES... well... he was NOT going to be even attempting that one. They only had to conquer one, right? Theo chose the lava, since it wasn't real lava, but he would pretend it was for the sake of the task.
Theo went up to one of the pools of lava and gave it a look over. Looked pretty real... gulp... but at least he couldn't drown in it. That was the only plus he could find.
Or could he?
.....
He looked OVER the puddle to get a good idea of what the other side looked like, since he had to get an idea about the destination and stuff. There wasn't much to think about, though, which made it harder. No distinctive features. It was just the floor. The floor next to a whole bunch of lava. Theodore scratched his head and could feel himself breaking into a sweat. Oh no, he was gonna splinch... he could feel it. This was PANIC.
Before he went through the process of apparating in his head, Theo opened his eyes and decided to take a breather. A bottle of water would be fantastic, too...
But he didn't want to make a fuss. After a few minutes of gathering his thoughts and concentrating on his breathing, Theo stood up straight and closed his eyes again. He cleared his mind of all anxieties and ONLY thought about the destination. Even if was just a random piece of flooring. He backed himself up with a few words of inner-praise as well. This is almost the last step. You're almost there. Come on, Theodore. Come ooooooon...
Theo did a little turn when he felt ready, and he apparated. He felt better once he landed, especially because he hadn't lost his balance this time. He was on his feet and not burning up in a pool of lava. He opened his eyes and realized that he was a little more further away from the pool than he had expected to be. Huh, he must have been real scared of that fake lava.

The first apparition had hurt like the dickens, and Mo had to really focus on the three hoops laid out in front of him not to let his mind wander over how many of these jumps he had left. It was a lot, brain. It was an awful lot. If he let himself think about it too much, it started to feel overwhelming again. Could he make himself apparate over and over when each time it made his joints hurt so much?
He didn't have to. He just had to jump into one of those hoops. Mo chose the one in the middle, an obvious choice in case he apparated a little short or a little long. As long as he was in a hoop, he could pretend that was where he'd intended all along. Of course, in a perfect world, he'd just jump into the correct hoop to begin, but it made sense to play it safe.
The middle hoop. The middle one. Mo stared at the spot intently before closing his eyes and unclenching his fists. It was easier if he wasn't drawn tight as a spring, and easier still if he remembered not to breathe in just before he apparated. Instead, he breathed in and out, drawing his hands up into the prayer pose as he dropped his shoulders. And... turn.
There was no pain this time, although he still felt that compression on his lungs, but when Mo opened his eyes, he was delighted to find himself right in the middle of the middle hoop. SEE? This was why he yoga'd.

But that didn't matter. All that mattered was landing back in the hoop on the other side of the lava. Okay, Destination first. She closed her eyes and pictured herself in the hoop, all the details, even the feeling of being there. The other D's came with that focus and intent. She was going to land in the hoop- no ifs or buts. So, when she felt she was ready...
Turn and pop!
Tessa opened her eyes and looked down, her grin broadening as she saw that she was standing in the hoop once again. She looked across the lava and back to where she was, ecstatic.

From the back of the room Oichi saw the rings and felt a little nervous but ready to go for it. Okay, its time for persission apparating. I can do this, no fear, lets go. Oichi concentrated her eyes on the space between the hoop she would apparate through. She then let the magic within her flow free and with a pop she went right through the hoop and ended up whole on the other side though she had not fully realized it yet. She turned around and realized she had done it. She smiled as she looked foward to the next challenge.

| Post 5 Arts TRANSPONSTER! Oooo, last bit now! Sophie was excited for having managed it all right until now. She took her time, though, on this last one, because she didn't want to get carried away by the fact she hadn't splinched so far. Who knew what could happen if she got extra hyper! Noooope, she wouldn't let it all go wrong now, nope.
The girl eyes the hoop again, and chose to go to the same one again. The middle one. Wait no! She wanted to go onto the right one this time. Right hoop this time, yep! Sounded good!
Onto the staring. Staring..... staring. She had done it a few times already and was reday to go again! So Sophie took a deep breath again and concentrated... on the centre of the right hoop. Turning on spot, she brought back the flower-magic feeling once more and POP!
There she was in the centre of the right hoop! Almost losing her balance again, but oh well. Maybe that was because she was always side-along apparating and always leaned on her parents when they arrived in their destination. Hmm... yeah, it made sense. She still needed to practice this whole balance thing.

| Post 3 Who Am I? Ern's 2460FUN He had to admit that, while he was still genuinely nervous about this test because of the importance of his license, now that he had accomplished one successful apparition it did make the whole rest of the test less daunting. The sixth year just had to stay focused and if he kept his eye on the prize no doubt he would get his license, yeah? Then he'd be able to get around way more efficiently then his motorbike. Though there was a novelty about how amazing he looked on that thing, yeah? Smiiiiiirk.
Snapping back to attention, Ascanius looked across the room at three hoops that were equally twenty feet away. He just had to pick one, but with three options in front of him it begged the question why? Were they trying to make him unfocused with the three right next to each other? Did they want him to get splinched? All seemed a little sick to him. Like they were baiting students to mess up. Positivity. Sure. He had loads of that now.
Trying to hone in on just ONE hoop- the middle one- he ignored the rest of the room. Only his destination, where he wanted to be and how he would get there. Everything else in the room was just a distraction.
He sucked in a breath.
Nothing happened.
Apparition was so annoying. It was never straightforward. He thought he was concentrating more then enough. Apparently not.
Once more he tried and only thought about the middle hoop.
The normal tug of his naval happened and POOF. He was in the middle hoop, but he had a pounding headache. Well, that was new.

Theo had a sudden burst of confidence after conquering that last challenge. It had been a struggle, but he had gotten there in the end, just like he knew he would. He kinda felt like his magic wouldn't let him down after coming this far. It was all down to his head, really. Had to get in the right head space.
Okay, the last part of the test had arrived, and it was those hoops again. Theo was feeling good about it, apart from the obvious extra pressure since this was the last thing to do. If he messed it all up now, he would be EXTREMELY upset. He chose a different hoop to what he had chosen before, not that it made much difference. They were all hoops, all the same size, none of them were charmed to do anything but just sit there. Just a hoop, he told himself.
He pictured the hoop in his mind. INSIDE the hoop, but this time, without the imaginary pillow inside it. He seemed to have mastered landing on his feet, so he didn't really NEED the pillow anymore.
Heeeeeeere goes.
Thinking of everything he had done the previous times, Theo closed his eyes and then opened them again whilst doing a little turn. But nothing happened. Of course, he wasn't thinking it through hard enough. He was getting far too cocky with his successes. The Slytherin closed his eyes once more and confirmed the destination in his head. He then repeated the whole egging himself on thing. GOOOOOOOOO THEODORE, and all.
He opened his eyes and WAHOOSH... he was gone. Right into the hoop, without any wobbles.

From his hoop, Mo could make out Cat dancing like a fool across the floor, and he let himself be fully distracted by her victory celebrations for a moment. Just a moment, because he didn't want to lose the sense of accomplishment he had after that rather perfect apparition attempt. It seemed like breathing and relaxing helped a great deal - not in the actual apparition, but in not getting hurt in the process.
There were three obstacles to choose from, and Mo eyed them all a bit dubiously. The lava pit was out... no reason to psych himself out unnecessarily. And the pothole looked like a death trap, especially when he was already feeling sore and fragile lately. He'd prefer not to break a hip before Quidditch, thanks. So it was a puddle. If he missed, the worst that would happen was that he'd get his feet wet. Not a huge threat there.
Ideally, though... MO didn't want to fall into the water at all. Period. Ever. He practiced some calming breathing as he surveyed the spot he intended to land, letting his posture relax and his muscles slacken. When he felt about as calm as he could manage, Mo closed his eyes and turned on the spot, anticipating the tightening and pressure on his body but not overreacting to it.
He didn't hear a splash as his feet once again touched the ground, and Mo opened one eye to peeeeeeeeek around at his location. It looked like... yes! He was on the other side of the puddle. He was safe and dry and unsplinched! Victory dance a la Cat!

Watching the grading was nerve-racking and Ella bit her lip, willing the man to pass her. She'd done a good job, at least as far as she knew, and the anticipation of getting it back was almost too much. Nervous, she was incredibly nervous. Quote:

Determination, Ella. "I mean, brilliant! I...thanks. I'll just go...get tarted on the other stuff, then." The practical stuff. And with a salute to the man, that's exactly what she did. Now came the hard part.
...
She needed to get from the front of the room to the back of the room now. Ella stood with her back to the front of the room and faced the destination she wanted to go, eyes focused on the back wall. Everything else had been cleared out of her mind and she tried to get every bit of magic she had in her tiny body working. She could do this. She'd done it before, right into the center of a hoop so she could definitely do it now. All she had to do was imagine herself there. Determined. She was determined to get to her destination. And she would move with deliberation to that destination.
Squeezing her eyes shut, the blonde pictured herself there, repeating the three Ds over and over in her mind as she did. This was going to happen. It was.
And...suddenly her insides were being squished and Ella's breath caught in her throat. It was happening! IT WAS! And as exciting as she was feeling, the eighteen year old continued to concentrate.
Before she knew it, she was at the back of the room. She grinned proudly for a second or two before glancing down at her fingers. All were accounted for which was good. She then wiggled her toes inside of her shoes, trying to get a feel for anything that had gone wrong. Nothing had, though. Or at least it didn't seem that way to her. Brilliant! She was ready to go!

Oichi looked toward the obstacles and saw that one looked like a lava pit about 50ft long. Oh cool, they have real simulated lava, I gotta try apparating over that, its the experience of s lifetime Oichi quickly walked over to the front end of the pit. It was then she saw close up just how real it looked. It was a slight bit terrifying but that made it all the more intriguing. Oichi concentrated on making it to the otherside of this monstrosity of an obstacle. She closed her eyes and let her magic within flow through her once more and then opened her eyes and saw the distance as she popped to cross it. She reappeared almost at the other end. She had to kick off and the land at the other end to fully make it and felt the warm gooey liquid hit the bottom of her show which as she suspected definately wasn't lava. She chuckled in glee knowing she fully made it and there was just one obstacle left.

| Post 6 Arts TRANSPONSTER! After spending a minute or so checking if she hadn't splinched at all, Sophie finally stepped out of the hoop and made her way back to the Ministry people to be checked.
She glanced as people appeared and disappeared througout the whole Great Hall and smiled. That was a funny sight. People popping all over the place and losing their balance - at least it wasn't jsut her, which was a relief - and looking quite determined. That was nice! Hopefully everyone would pass the test.
Sophie stood near the instructors and waited for her turn to be checked for splinching. While she waited, she herself double checked to see if she could spot anything wrong with her.

Hoops next. Ella was a bit nervous because it had taken her a bunch of tries to get inside a hoop during the lesson, y'know? But she'd done a lot of mental preparation since then. Practicing focusing and building herself up so that she knew she could do it. That was important, yeah? Determination and all that. It helped that she'd successfully just crossed the room, too. Made her feel like maybe this wouldn't be a disaster after all. She just needed to keep her head right and she'd be golden. Unlike her greying hair.
Three hoops to choose from and Ella was going for the one located in the center. Her green eyes narrowed in on it and she got a good mental picture of what it looked like and where she wanted to be. She was going to get to that hoop and land inside. There was no other option.
First came the destination. Center hoop. Right inside. That's where she was headed. No way she was going to mess this up. Nope.
Next came determination. She was determined to get into that center hoop. There was no way she was going to fail. She knew what she needed to do.
Then deliberation. She was taking her time and focusing all her energy on moving to that place. No haste here. Not at all. Just lots of focus.
And after a minute or two, eyes squeezed shut and willing herself to get to the center hoop, right in the middle, the blonde felt her body twisting in on itself. Like a great pressure weighing on her and she knew it was happening.
Opening her eyes once more, the eighteen year old found herself inside the center hoop but she was wobbling a bit. No, no, no. She waved her arms to try and regain her balance which seemed to do the trick. Oh thank Merlin! She'd done it. Second task done. She was almost there!

When Oichi finally calmed down she focused on making it to the finally hoop. It was a little further away this time but she felt confident she could do it. She stared at the hoop of her choice and concentrated as she let her magic within flow and with a pop she was off. When she reappeared she looked down and saw she was in the hoop and jumped up and down with glee. She was done, she had done all she could and the only.step left was evaluation.

From her spot in the hoop, Ella looked around at the next set of obstacles she had to choose from. She wasn't particularly eager to jump over the lava, even if it wasn't real, so that was a big no. She'd only make herself nervous in anticipation and that wouldn't end well, she was sure. And knowing how delicate her body seemed to be lately, she wasn't keen on landing in the pot hole, either. The thing looked like a perfect way to break her bones and it was Quidditch season, y'know? She couldn't afford any trips to the healer. This meant that the puddle was the safest and most appealing option for her. No doubt about that.
Eyes landing on the puddle closest to her, the eighteen year old focused on how she was going to make it safely over it without getting wet. She would not be landing in that puddle. Nope. Her mind was made up. So now she just had to get herself to the other side of it safely. No pressure. Not thinking about that.
Eyes closed, the badger focused her mind on the exact place she'd be landing. She could do this. She could totally do this. She was going to be sure of her location too before moving. No hasty decisions form this girl. Not at all. And with all this in mind, she waited for something to happen. Come on, come on, come o-
Turning on the spot, the blonde felt the familiar sensation of being pushed at from all directions and she kept her eyes squeezed shut until she felt the ground under her feet again.
The dry ground...because she'd done it...and she was on the other side of the tunner...and GRIN! GRIN! GRIN! Did anyone see that?! Merlin!

Once Oichi came down from her high of finishing the exam she walked over to Cale, "Hi, I did it, I completed the exam, and I feel whole. Please tell me I am", Oichi said excitedly, she really wanted her license.

| 6 ♥ Touch Lass! | MOON OF MY LIFE | Lemon's Winner | Inside Kitty Right. Okay. No more happy dancing. People might notice. They might think she was being rude and distracting and she really didn’t want to be rude or distracting. Instead, she took to inner squealing as she made her way back over to see Mr. Newell. Caterina knew she had all of the important body parts still. Both arms, both legs, her head. She could feel her nose and her eyes and her mouth and such, so she was hoping that everything was all in one piece.
She clasped her hands behind her back (feeling all of her fingers, by the way), and waited her turn to speak with the man. Was this really happening? Was she really almost done? Could she go take a nap after this? |

| Post #5 HeadGirlMC | Treddie & Trixiver <3 | Copy Girl | Katie's Ickle Minion | I love YOU more Now this next activity was the one that Terry feared the most. Essentially, although he was sure there'd be some form of protection as they wouldn't endanger the students, this part could be dangerous. Especially if it was reflected in real life but it was incredibly unlikely he'd find himself trapped by a pool of lava.
The sixth year inspected each of the obstacles in turn, trying to decide which one took his fancy. Or which one would be best for him rather. He concluded that the puddle didn't seem like challenge enough, he wasn't scared of getting wet after all. The lava was also too unrealistic to be applied in practice and so therefore the only one left was the 20 foot deep pothole. It would definitely be a challenge and he supposed it could happen suddenly when he was walking down a street with how geologically unstable some areas were. He'd do this one then.
He stood on one side of the pothole, briefly glancing down with a slight gulp. It was quite deep and dark, he wouldn't fancy falling down it. He looked back up and focused on a spot on the other side of the hole where he would be safe. His eyes stayed glued on the spot and he decided to not close his eyes this time. He wanted to focus on his destination. And then along came his determination. He was more determined to complete this one than any other task so far. He stayed there for a short while, making sure that he took his time and therefore essentially completed the third D.
Here it goes. At the last minute he squeezed his eyes shut, mainly because it helped him get used to the sensation of the transportation. When he opened his eyes again he was ecstatic to see that he was safely on the other side of the pothole and had apparated over it successfully.
With a proud beam on his face, Terry's attention went back to the final task ahead.
Three down. One to go.

| Post #2 urine trouble | Pat's Strong Confident Other Half | Pees Like a Champion Unicorn Racehorse The smile was welcomed and, in fact, returned to the man. A little nervously and with the addition of a ruffle of his own hair. Because he was nervous. But then the man had said something about passing which made the nervous smile turn into a full on grin. "Thanks, sir!" he called, giving the man a two finger salute before heading off to tackle the practical portion. If all else fails, at least he could say that his theory was spot on? Yeah?
... But now... practical. Which meant that he needed to go over to that other side of the room.
And the instructions? Apparate from the front of the room to the back? Sounded simple enough, even if the back of the room was so very far away. Anywhere near the back would be good, yeah? As long as it was towards the back? ... He... was going to assume so.
Destination, determination and deliberation. Destination was the back of the room, and he was going to aim for that spot right THERE. Very close to the back of the room. Being specific would probably help him get to that spot and apparate successfully, he was sure of it. It had certainly helped him that second time. Determination... was... well... he was going to get there. Positive thinking and all, you know. And deep breaths.
Now there was just one thing for it. The apparition.
A couple more deep breaths were taken and he closed his eyes, trying to imagine the place in his mind. He tried to push away the thought that this was the actual test and there was no going back. Unless he decided to go to the Ministry over the summer to do it. ... No. Not happening. He'd rather get thi over and done with today. Breathe... breathe...
... The eighteen year old took a step forward and spun on the spot.
The familiar not being able to breathe sensation was back. No, Alec had not missed that. No way. But this was a good sign, right? Because it had happened that other time too. Good sign or not, he still didn't like it and would have mentally willed for it to stop if it wasn't for the fact that he wanted to get to his destination.
... Just as he thought this, his feet slammed against the ground, causing him to let out a small groan at the pain that was shooting up from his legs and past his too-weak knees. And air. He could BREATHE! Which he was going to take full advantage of as he looked around. He... was at the back of the room! At the spot he had told himself to go to! YEAH.
More breathing. Grins. Lots of deep breaths being taken.

Theo stayed inside the hoop for a few minutes just to make sure he hadn't splinched himself. Well, his arms and legs were still there, so that was a plus, his head still in tact, too! He smiled to himself, took a step outside of the hoop, and then nodded to all of the obstacles just to make sure he had completed all that was necessary.
Seemed so!
Okay... he was done? Theo tapped his fingers against his waist and then made his way to the front of the test room, to were Mr. Newell was waiting. There was a small queue, and Theo took a spot behind Cat who had apparently also finished.
Gosh, his hands were sweating. DID HE PASS?
DID HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE???

So now all he had to do was appear back in the hoop his was just in. Was that it. Sounded simple enough. It need another breather before his stomach decides to revolt against him. Okay he could do this. He had just vanished and reappeared three times in a matter of minutes. So once more was not going to kill him.
He was this close to the license now. Okay remember the Three D's. His destination was back in the hoop he was just in. Picture yourself in it. Nigel closed his eyes like usual and tuned out the fake lava that was in front of him and only thought of the hoop and that he would be in it. No need for more complicated thoughts right now.
Yep there was that getting to be familiar feeling. Nigel felt him self being pulled Yes this was it. He opened his eyes and his arms went out apparently in a safe motion like in that muggle game. He had done it. He was inside the hoop.
Exactly where he was a couple minutes ago.
