And it was gonna get blasted! Wow. Mo was gonna do it? That's ok. Tag was perfectly fine with that. He just assumed, with the old age Mo was going through right now he wouldn't risk it. But Tag didn't mind that Mo was gonna do this. It wasn't like he couldn't explode other things in his own free time. The wall broke, or it turned into dust! Which meant they'd done it. There might've been, or might've not been more bouncing on his heels from the blonde. "Brilliant job, Mo! We're done!" He said excitedly, that smile still on his face. Did Botros see that?! Two sixth years, two-where were the other gazillion sixth years by the way- had done this entire job! Awards over here, yes? Thank you. |
Impact after impact after impact. The tree felt lighter and while half the branches were still paralyzed, some other branches started moving again. Swiping at the humans nearby but not close enough to hit or snatch anyone. The human that was still hanging on it was Better run if you don't wanna end up like a tree ornament! |

So Beverly wasn't going to hand over the wand, hmm? Fine then, Wayne! Sophie would just put Beverly on THE LIST then. The list of people she needed to one-up at least at some point in her life. She'd lost this round, but the next round was her's! Sophie bit her bottom lip. Right. They hadn't seen one another in ages, but she didn't expect Beverly to know that. Or at least remember that. Sighhh. Then--BURN. "His other..." Pause. Oh, my Merlin! Sophie had to write to her Aunt Sierra! Kennedy Escalante = BUSTED. "Well then, if you'll excuse me, I have to make a trip to the owlery," she said. She passed a final look at Cutty Mordaunt, because who would want to forget that image, then left the area. OOC: Whoaaaa, major plot for us! I'm going to cut this short, though, since we ARE in class. :xd: We should finish this one day, though! |
Beaming as Professor Botros took the chocolate from her, Lux wondered how exactly he was proposing to bargain with the Whomping Willow without fully waking it up. Whatever happened, she would make sure to be well out of the way at the time. Watching as the man walked off to check on the others, she sent a mental prayer that her friends were all okay. It seemed that their wall was the only one to be damaged, but one could never be too sure. As Beverly and a girl that Lux recognized from classes (was her name Sophie?) argued over the boy's fallen wand, she raised her brow. It was rather strange, and she had no idea what the two girls were even talking about. But whatever. Spotting some of the other branches move out of the corner of her eye, Lux took that as her cue to exit. Casting nervous glances at the tree the whole time, she left the area. It was time for her to go back to the Common Room, where she would be in no danger of getting smashed. Professor Botros would know what to do, so that Cutty boy would be safe. |
"Everyone under sixteen, get back to the castle and away from the tree!" Botros used his wand as he jogged around the angry tree, seeing that all the walls were down except for one. TSK TSK TSK. He held out the chocolate frogs and ran back to his original group. "Back to the castle, hurry! You'll give Mordaunt his wand back there." He literally grabbed the kids from their collars and threw them away, urging them to run AWAY. ooc: - Everyone done with their curse is officially dismissed now, unless you want to stick around for fun, of course. :3 - Seventh year, you can try and finish real quick! - The thread won't close until much later. |
Damage done. There was no way, no way AT ALL that Newell would keep her mouth shut about what she just said. Granted, she won their little dispute, but she had dragged Kennedy into it too. The urge to jinx Newell and feed her to the Whomping Willow was high. ARGH. "Yes, why don't you go tell Sierra about it," she said to the girl and watched her leave. MERLIN SHE NEEDED TO STOP. Her shoulders sagged after Newell left, but she wasn't done. She was going to tell Kennedy what happened - tweak the story here and there, of course - and warn him of evil, punching Newells. GAAAAAH! By the looks of it, it was time to get out of there. Once Botros announced it, Bev didn't hesitate to move. If the man was telling them go away, he meant it. The third year hobbled toward the castle as fast as a ninety year old woman-child could, forgetting all about Mordaunt's wand in her pocket. |

"Can I help, sir? I mean... I'm not bad with charmswork." Mo spun his wand and dropped it. Sort of good, usually... helped when his hands were actually 16 and not 80. |

Post 6: Team 1-3 (but the less academically related type of post) It was difficult to make out what everyone had been saying, Cutty was so far up, but he did catch the Professor tell him that he'd get him down. Right, so all Cutty had to do was wait. His arms clutched his bag. He was not about to lose all of his sellable product along with his wand that day. Not happening. Cutty adjusted his bag so that he was no work to hold it and shoved his hands into his pockets waiting not unlike a damsel to be rescued. It would happen. They would do it. His neck was bent back so as to get a better look at everyone. There was the cute Hufflepuff girl who seemed to be offering up something...CHOCOLATE FROGS! AHA! She was a potential buyer and with having given them up at this very moment, she would need more. Maybe Marigold knew her name. Text Cut: The Slytherin Girls Then Cutty spotted the most interesting thing to him. Wayne had picked up his wand and pocketed it and Sophie had approached her. He looked over at Alec to see if he'd caught this. Cutty reached up for his dangling school bag, which was hanging right-side up. He inched it up smoothly, like a spider hoisting the thing strands of his web. When it was close enough he unfastened the side-zipper and pulled out his extendable ear. It apparently had a range on it, but he was still able to pick up the basic jist of Sophie wanting his wand (and of course she did, she was mad for him!) and Bev not giving it to her for reasons he thought not at all related to friendly allegiance. He simply wrote it up to him having let her get by on her good credit and providing her with her fill of sweets. Cause you know, what he had done for her was what he could do for her again, and Bev's monetary status was such that he couldn't see her pull any uncouth maneuvers. Class. Also, Wayne apparently had a brother....who Sophie had dinner with. Toby had been watching, though. He could get more details from him. Text Cut: Botros, The Willow & The Rescue Team The tree began to stir about, but the branches which held Cutty suspended like a pinata did not unfreeze and thus there he remained. Perhaps, luckily as he might have been swallowed or fallen to his death. Though Cutty didn't see it that way for to him a change (any at all) was simply another word for: Opportunity worth exploiting. He wished he'd had his wand. Immobulus. Imobulus all. Day. Long. |

Botros was actually hoping that Marco would CATCH the wand that he just flipped around. But the boy didn't, and the tree was still dancing with its branches going at them from several directions. "Uh, no, thank you two. Just make sure the little ones get away from the tree." He turned towards the tree, looked up to make sure Mordaunt was still alive up there, and then took the chocolate frogs out and started running towards the tree dodging the dropping branches as he went. |
Post 6-Seventh Years *tries to help finish real quick before work* Okay. This was working, it as happening. Ella tried not to be too bothered about the other kids being dismissed because they were doing their best here and knowing Botros, she figured he'd see that and be okay with it. Besides, it wasn't as if they weren't making progress. It was just coming along slower. Ella blamed it on old age. Seriously, it took her so long to think of anything even remotely helpful to say these days but at least she'd retained some kind of knowledge of runes. She credited Botros and his awesome teaching skills for that. His lessons seemed to have stuck with her, even through the haze that seemed to come over her brain since this elderly thing had started. After her rune had burned into the wall, Ella looked to Sander who was stepping up to have his chance. "Yeah, definitely." She had no problems with him taking a turn. Teamwork, remember? They'd done a really good job of making sure everyone had a chance to offer up something. She was a bit worried that Oichi wasn't getting enough of a shot at the wall so she looked over at the girl curiously, offering her a small smile. The girl remained quiet though, offering to help Botros and even walking away from their group. Um... ... ... Okay. Sniff. Sniff... "It's burning again!" Ahem. She might have been a little too excited about this but still. This was exciting. Just Jera to go, according to the others. So should they just try? They didn't really have much to lose and the tree was getting restless, it seemed. Even if Botros was doing them a solid by immobilizing it once more. Grins for you, young man! "Okay, we can give Isa a shot for Jera, then? Because if Jera is change, and Isa is stagnation, perhaps Isa will block that ability for change?" Is that what they'd been saying all along? They hadn't had any other clear ideas so Ella was willing to try. Stepping up to the wall once more with her wand, she took a deep breath and concentrated on Isa. "Intaglio Isa...Isa..Isa...Isa...Isa...Isa...Isa..." Oh Merlin, please work. Then they could knock this wall down with a spell and get out of her before being struck with a branch. Thin smoke started rising from the Isa rune. |
Post 10 -7th years Was that something burning? It sure smelled like it. Sander breathed a sigh of relief when he realized the rune he had carved had worked after all. Now it was Ella who was going to carve out the last opposing rune. She had picked Isa to oppose Jera. While she carved out the rune Isa, Sander began chanting the Galdr for it,"isa isa isa i i i i i i i i i i i i i i i s s s s s s (s s s s s s i i i i i i) i i i i i i i i i" all the time hoping that he would smell the now familiar smell of a wall burning. |
Oichi did as she was told pushed younger students as far away from the tree as she could. All the while she saw the professor take out chocolate frogs which hopped all over the place distracting the tree while professor Botros weaved and bobbed through it all risking life and limb and then set up a cushion for the Slytherin boy to fall on. Oichi's jaw dropped, she was awe struck at what she just witnessed. She was a safe distance away and saw some of her fellow 7th years stayed behind to finish up the assignment, in her condition she was glad she chose to help lead the younger students to safety. |
Post #6 ... Everyone else had finished breaking their walls? Were they really working that slowly? Erm...? Shaking his head, Alec turned his attention back towards the group and, mainly, Sander, who was casting the rune. The burning smell was welcome. It meant that everything was working, yeah? Even if they were the last ones to break apart the wall. Here's hoping Botros wouldn't mind. He was also wondering why Oichi had left them. It also seemed like Isa was a popular opposite rune to cast. Grey-blue eyes landed on Ells and he nodded. Sure, Isa could be the opposite of Jera. Change and stagnation. Smart girl was smart. "Isa isa isa... i i i i i i i i i... i i i i i i s s s s s s... (s s s s s s i i i i i i)... i i i i i i i i i..." This was the last weak spot they needed to work on, right? Luckily because the tree had been moving around before. ... BURNING! "I think it worked!" GRIN. "So... we just need to cast a spell at the wall to blast it apart, right?" |
Post 7-Seventh Years It was burning! "It definitely worked!" Ella grinned at the others and stepped back, glad it had done the job. "Good job suggesting that rune, Sander. I really wasn't sure but it worked out."And they were ready to knock this thing down, yeah? Had canceled out all of the weak runes? The blonde eyed the wall for a minute or two before turning her attention to the others. Alec was right, now they just had to blast the wall. The eighteen year old smiled a little and then thought about a spell they could possibly use. "I think...Reducto, yeah? I'm pretty sure I heard Mo use that one and I know their wall fell." Smart guy, Mo was. "Someone want to do the honors?" This was the exciting part. |
Post 6 - Seventh Years! She was doing her part chanting with each rune that her fellow yearmates cast. To be honest, Alice was only really into it 'cause of the burning. It was a pity that there was no outright flame, but this was enough to awaken her inner chaos-loving Gryffindor, she supposed. But finally, FINALLY, Alec stated it was time for the explosion. "Me!" Yes! Her. Please? Pleaaase? Alice wanted to blow stuff up. Without waiting for confirmation, she decided to do the honors. The captain approached the wall carefully, like a three year old who had just come across a dangerous snake on the street and was getting ready to stab it with a stick. Reductor Curse, right? Her wand moved in a shape very similar to that of a greater than sign in Muggle arithmetic, and then... "Reducto!" Did it work? The spell hit the wall, the ward flashed and vanished and the wall turned to dust |
Post 11 - Seventh years Sander watched and waited and eventually smelled the burning odor. He looked around at his fellow group members. "We did it!!" he grinned from ear to ear. He watched as Oichi decided to join the other students in leaving and wondered why. They still had to break their wall. But it was okay, Alec, Ella and Alice were still here working with him. Yes it was time to break the wall. He hoped it would fall apart like the other sides had. When Alice cast the Reductor Curse, Sander quickly stepped aside and raised his arm to shield his eyes. It had to break! The wall had to break!! ....and it did!! It obliterated into little pieces. YES!! Sander punched the air with his fists in jubilation. He wanted to dance a jig but he knew that they didn't have time, the Whomping Willow was now free. |

Wait the Professor was leaving? Did that mean they could too? Sander turned to look at Alec, Ella and Alice questioningly and then back at Professor Botros' retreating back and decided that he would too, since the walls were down and the Whomping Willow was free again. "It was great working with all of you. I guess since all the others have left and Professor has too, I'll head back myself. See you all back at the castle," Sander told them giving each of his team members a nod and a smile, before picking up his backpack and heading back to the castle. |
