Once you head down the fifth floor corridor and enter the Ancient Runes classroom, you find everything appears to be what you've come to expect of this room - orderly rows of desks facing the professor's larger desk and the blackboard behind it. In addition to your Ancient Runes professor, however, you will find your History of Magic professor standing near the entrance to greet you as well as you file in for this joint lesson.
A message on the blackboard also greets you. The desks are already equipped with the name tag you filled out previously. Find your name, take a seat, and wait for class to begin.

Coming to a stop by the History of Magic professor, Beverly blinked up at him with her wrinkly eyes. Then toward the front where professor Botros - who seemed all chill and stuff - stood.
She's finally done it, hasn't she? She's gone to the wrong classroom at the wrong time. Mellow.
Beverly turned back to professor McCormack with an uncertain look on her face. "Hi, professor. Um..." Gosh, "I think I'm in the wrong classroom." Eyes gazed back at Botros. Or was HE in the wrong classroom.
The Slytherin was pretty sure not only her memory was failing her, but so was her brain.

Sophie was still trying to discreetly get Caleb's attention when she heard her name coming from a fairly familiar voice. "Oh, hey, Adi," she said, momentarily forgetting Botros and his newly-colored hair. Oh? Adi had something for her? He got red in the face then, which sort of confused Sophie. What was he all red-faced for?
Oh...wow. A stuffed animal and a note. Cool! Caleb wasn't gonna punch the boy, was he?
Sophie unfolded the card and read it. OHHH. No wonder he was all red-faced. She got a little red-faced, too. She held up the card and let Caleb glance over it. See what *I* got little brother?! She turned back to Adi with a smile. "Thank you, Adi. I--..." GULP. Okay, this was harder than it seemed. "I'd love to be your Valentine."
Ana trudged down the corridor towards the classroom quite unhappily. She was tired, needed to study more, and despite the fact that she'd managed to do surprisingly well on her Ancient Runes homework it was still one of her least favourite subjects. Although she did like Professor Botros. But that was neither here nor there.
Walking into the classroom Ana made a beeline for the desk with her name tag on it without even looking toward the front of the classroom. It wasn't until she was seated and had her equipment out that she looked to the front. "Hello Professor Botros... and Professor McCormack," she greeted, somewhat confused. Why was the History of Magic Professor in the Ancient Runes classroom?
Lex ignored the message on the board, instead she made her way over to the Professor and placed both hands on his head of blonde hair. Why yes the Gryffindor WAS wibbling and looked close to tears, except not really, she didn't make a habit of those. "Your hair...blonde."Sniffle. "Look at my hair Sir. It's a SIN." She wanted HIS hair. HIS BLONDE HAIR, not this grey going on white rubbish!!!
So nice looking...so not what she had....wibble.
... oh Merlin. Botros was hunched forwards with the girl's hands on his head. He stayed motionless for a moment, a slight blush crept to his face. "Uh.." He gently pulled her hands away from his head and straightened up again. Clearing his throat, Botros fixed his jacket, "Please, miss Cambridge, take a seat. It's indeed an unfortunate occurrance to lose some of your hair color--" Or all of it. "--I'm sure Miss Tillstorm will help." He gave her a small sympathetic smile.
If he could give them his blonde hair, he would.

Alec's eyes widened as he stared at it. Blonde... And it looked so SOFT. Could he touch it? Observe it? Ask the man what kind of hair care products he used?"I... awesome hair, sir!" Really. Even if Alec felt a small pang of jealously at his own greying locks. Sigh. He missed how brown it had looked. Now it was just... grey. Soft, but grey. Frown. ... But this was good for the man. Really. Yeah. "... I mean... hello!"
His hair was BLONDE.
Okay, so his nerves weren't at their best already. Botros felt... weird having this shiny blonde hair while half the school were sporting grey hair. Couldn't it come in style when he had it?? "Thank.. you..." he replied uncertainly and rubbed his chin.

And Professor Botros looked good though. See, he looked nice. Compared to Airey who looked creepy and made Tag shudder. ""Nice to see that you've joined the cool people club, Professor." Tag said giving him a small smile as he pointed to his and Botros blonde hair.
Anyway, after the small greet Tag went over to the desk that had his name tag on it and sat down, waiting for class to begin.
So his hair was going to be on the front page the daily prophet, Merlin help him this was embarrassing. Feeling good and having no need for a cane or ointments or even pepper-up potions was great, but getting all this attention for some blonde hair was embarrassing. Especially when he was eighty years old.
He cleared his throat and nodded at the Gryffindor, "Thank you, Mr. Kildare." The cool people club, though? They needed to renew this club's name if Botros was going to join them.

Aw. Marco was also looking terribly older than he did few weeks ago. Botros stared at him for just a moment longer before offering a small smile, "Eat well. Sleep early. Talk to the healer." Do them backwards, rhe professor wanted to say. But he didn't. It could be alarming and they had a lesson to hold.

Botros didn't have problem hearing or seeing anything now. He watched the Hufflepuff and the Slytherin. He wasn't sure what was going on from where he leaned on his desk, but he got the feeling it wasn't homework exchange.

If Alice thought it intriguing that History of Magic and Ancient Runes were going to be combined, it was nothing compared to what she thought of a suddenly younger Botros.
Er... what? Everyone around her had wrinkles and grey hair and rheumatisms, but her previously prunelike professor had become a middle-aged stud? That threw her off a bit. Any other time, she would have started spewing questions like mad, but all that mouth movement sounded like it'd make her jaw hurt. And her jaw already hurt. Everything already hurt. Ow.
"Hi Professor McCormack. Mister Ab, sir, if you're not using your cane, want to lend it to your favorite student?" Yes? She made eyes at him.

*BLINK*
Sophie caught that LOOK from Botros, and then suddenly, all the pieces starting coming together. OH MY MERLIN!
"Caleb," Sophie half-whispered, half-hissed. "We have GOT to do something. Botros is using runes to steal our youth and use it for HIS benefit. Look at 'im!"
"Adi," she said, whispering to him, too. "I think he's done something to us." So that was it, huh? Bentley had killed a woman, according to that ghost Sophie had met in the dungeons, and Botros was stealing their youth to help him LIVE FOREVER!
...and just when they thought the likes of Voldemort was ancient history!

Adi caught Botros looking at him and Sophie and his face went even redder. If that were possible. Uhhhh. He wasn't doing anything wrong here. But who cared? Sophie had said yes! She actually said yes! Adi grinned in relief. He was a little apprehensive about Caleb though... It was almost as if he had to ask both Newells the valentine question.
Everything seemed so much more awesome now. Adi felt as if he could fly. Sophie said yes! But why was she talking about Botros stealing their youth? No, no. That kindly old...er young man wouldn't do that. There had to be another explanation. "I don't think he would do that,'' he told Sophie firmly. Adi refused to believe it.
"I'd better go to my seat,'' he whispered to Caleb and Sophie, though he very much wanted to stay. "He's looking at us in a weird way.'' He gave Sophie another smile and headed off.

Okay so apparently he was invisible.
It was the only explaination that both the professor and his best friend had seemingly ignored his greetings in favor of other interactions going on around him. Botros with his housemate and prefect and Adi with the Slytherin girl he vaguely remembered as a twin who apparently was now the Hufflepuff's valentine. He hadn't been quiet and given the older man seemed to be better than he was, he should have heard.
Yeah....Ben had DEFINANTLY missed something there.
With a heavy sigh the Gryffindor made his way dejected to the desk he spotted his name tag. Since there wasn't really anyone else he cared to greet, he figured he might as well just wait for the lesson to begin. Nothing else he had to do and it would happen sooner rather than later anyway. So Ben sat down with a groan before mechanically taking out parchment and a quill for notetaking. His hand absently scratching out the date upon the top of the first clean sheet.
Er...."Professor McCormack.....hi...." No one bothered to mention he was taking over this lesson...or had they? She didn't make a habit of reading the noticeboard she was ironically meant to keep up to date. Eh. Effort and energy she didn't have as of late--HOLD ON HEREEEE. "Professor Botros???" The man! He--Hair--BLONDE. WHAAAAAAAT?? AND WHERE WAS THE FLIPPING CANE AND THE BLOODY WRINKLES??? WHAT HAD SHE WALKED INTO??
Lex ignored the message on the board, instead she made her way over to the Professor and placed both hands on his head of blonde hair. Why yes the Gryffindor WAS wibbling and looked close to tears, except not really, she didn't make a habit of those. "Your hair...blonde."Sniffle. "Look at my hair Sir. It's a SIN." She wanted HIS hair. HIS BLONDE HAIR, not this grey going on white rubbish!!!
Was she surprised to see him? McCormack himself was a little surprised as the Gryffindor Prefect walked in. Not surprised by her presence as she seemed to be, but more by her appearance and demeanor. He furrowed his brow a bit as he watched her cross the room. “Hello, Miss.. Cambridge,” he hesitated as he spoke, then trailed off as his eyes followed her over to Botros, who was looking remarkable by the way. Even seemed to have a little spring in his step, he noticed as he came in. He gave the older man a concerning look regarding Cambridge, wondering if she’d be alright for class today.

Then to the other professor in the room. The one whom she usually calls old man, in her head of course, though now the description doesn't fit that much. Her eyes lingered on him taking in how he looked remarkably younger. Had some work done or something? "Hello, Professor, Looking good," she said with a smile. That was totally ok to say to a professor, right? Yup. Totally. And certainly the gryffindor had the same opinion, since she seemed to like his hair. Or maybe she missed hers. Cassia missed her bestie's hair, too! And she felt sorry for her whatever the reason was. Casually, the snake reached out and patted the fifth-year on the shoulder. Should she pull her back? Or like help her walk to a desk?
”Good day, Miss Somerlad,” Braith responded in kind with a small smile and returned the nod. It was a little more encouraging that the Slytherin prefect seemed in somewhat better shape than Miss Cambridge. Perhaps she could see Alexa to her seat.

Braith looked at the Head Boy a bit curiously as he squinted at him, unable to tell if it was a look of confusion like several of the students who had entered before him or what it was, but it was soon replaced by a small smile as the boy greeted him. “Hello, Mr. Summers.” He gave the boy a glance as he walked over to Botros to greet him as well. Another with grey hair, interesting. But he didn’t dwell on it for long before he was glancing back to the entrance as the next student entered.

The Head Girl held her back as she wandered closer, continuously STARING at the old man weirdly young looking Ancient Runes professor. Her green eyes eventually flicked to the History of Magic professor too but then went straight back to staring. "Hi... .... ....Professor ... ...and Professor."
This was weird. Did anyone else think this was weird? Botros was BLONDE. Which was nice but also incredibly weird because he was old and oh gosh that was mean to say but true, y'know? And deciding that the staring was probably getting weird, the eighteen year old slowwwwly made her way to her seat and lowered into it, wishing it was a bit more comfy.
Then eyes were back on Botros. Becuase Botros looked young and she looked old and what was going on?
Nancy Drew mode activated.
Was the Head Girl alright or just a little lacking in social graces? Braith raised an eyebrow as he watched her staring at his colleague, then gave her a small nod as she finally greeted them both albeit a bit oddly. “Hello Miss Bishop.” He watched her carefully for a moment as she took her seat, then turned back to await the next student to enter.

Aaah, there he was. Good to know she was in the correct place after all. "Hello, Professor Botros." Finding the desk with her name tag on it, she took a seat and waited for class to start.

Her grandfather was going to have a FIT.

What was going on here? Braith followed Ab's gaze to the two red-faced students and watched them a minute. At least there was no hand-holding from students like in his previous lesson , but he'd love it if students could keep their little romantic tendencies outside the classroom. But it seemed to be ended now which was perfect since he intended to start the lesson now and he'd just hate to think he was interrupting anyone's date. ....right. He allowed his blue eyes to follow Mr. Rehman to his seat, giving him a pointed look then leaned over a little closer to Botros. "You look great, by the way," he told him in a loud whisper. "Whatever rejuvenation potion you're using is working wonders." Thumbs up Ab.
"Good morning class," McCormack adjusted his loud, teacher voice as a way of calling the students to attention. "A bit of a change today, Professor Botros and I are conducting a joint lesson, combining Magical History with Ancient Runes." They went together well, of course. But certainly they already knew that if they looked at the noticeboard before they came to class today. "To start," he began as he walked around to behind the desk. "I'd like to talk about some magical artifacts I've collected from a specific part of the world." He bent down and lifted a box from the floor, setting it on the desk.
Once he opened the lid, Braith pulled out the objects one by one, holding each up for the class to see before he set them on the desk. "There are some engravings on each of these that can give you some clues about what they are and where they come from. I want you all to look at these artifacts and tell me what you think they might be or where they might have come from. Or anything about them at all." Really, he wanted them to use their observational and deduction skills combined with their academic knowledge before they moved on. "Come up one at a time to the desk if you need to." Especially the boy in glasses. He wasn't sure if he could see from that far away.

Sander sat up when it seemed the class was beginning. He squinted to see what Professor McCormack was showing them. It looked like stones with weird carvings on them. But not being able to see what they were, Sander got up from his seat and slowly walked up where the objects lay and studied them when it was his turn to do so.
To him the engravings on the objects looked like hieroglyphics. He had seen something like that once when his parents took him to the National Museum of History back home.
Raising his hand, Sander decided to hazard a guess.
"Professor are those engravings, hieroglyphics? I think I recognize the symbol for the sun and water on one of them. Did you get them from Egypt?"

Was there much point of answering? West knew what those were, his dad was a curse breaker after all, and he'd spent a whole bunch of time in Egypt -even time in Egypt with Botros the previous year. Better then to let others answer maybe? All logographs and abjads were interesting to him though, even when he already knew about them, so West kept his attention on the professor.

It was really hard to see the artifacts Professor McCormack was showing them. Since her eyes were having so much difficulty seeing, it would have been better to move closer (even though her seat was in the very front of the room), but Alice couldn't bear to get up. Her knees. They HURT. So much. Commuting would be too much effort for her little frail body.
So she went with what someone else said. Egyptian heiroglyphics, then. And their shape was just right for...
"Is that one a logogram?" Maybe. It was a guess. "Also called a logograph. Graphemes and stuff." Gran had mentioned something about them before, but Alice hadn't been paying much attention because cursebreaking things were such a snore. Really, put her right to sleep.

Ahh, so it was a joint lesson. Huh. How come she hadn't remembered that? Bev was sure she would...would she? Eh. It didn't matter. She was in the right classroom. She walked over to the desk that had her name tag on it, one at the front, and sat down carefully.
While the History of Magic professor started the lesson she took out a piece of parchment, quill and glasses, of course. Slipping them on she still had to squint at the artifacts. One of them stood out the most. Maybe because it was printed on one of the little black pearls on her bracelet, or because she's read about it countless of time.
She raised her hand gingerly. "That one is the Eye of Horus," she said. It was, right? The eye-looking thing. Squint, squint. "It is believed to protect the wearer. It's also very important in Egypt."

Ha, others should take note. It seemed that she'd gotten a smile for pretending everything was hunky - dory.
As class began, Layla got ready to take notes. Only, it seemed they would be starting off with a test of what they knew. And she recognized the objects immediately, having studied them in every art and history class she'd ever taken. "Those are artifacts from Ancient Egypt. The engravings on them are hieroglyphs and that's the way that the Ancient Egyptians communicated," she replied. But, she couldn't see how they connected to magic, or the study of the history of it. Didn't magic start in Europe? With Merlin? Or was she mistaken?

At the History of Magic Professor's words, Leah got up gingerly and walked up to the desk. The artifacts were beautiful, but not really her style. What were they supposed to do again? Oh, observe.
The girl stared, and stared, and stared but nothing came to mind. She thought of Ancient Egypt but someone else had answered that. "That one has a stick man on it," she finally said, pointing at the third one from the left, giggling.

History of Magic and Ancient Runes. Great, that's all Tag needed. Ancient Runes, which he was starting to feel odd about, and History of Magic combined. So, when McCormack set the items on the desk he simply inched out of his seat for a couple of seconds and tried to get the best look he could get from here.
He was most certainly not going up there and have the possibility of being stared down by Botros in hopes of him hoping his student knew what that was and then Tag getting it wrong.
Nope. No idea at all. So the boy just sighed in his seat and listened to everyone else's answers. Rather not risk anything if he wasn't sure, anyway.
”Good day, Miss Somerlad,” Braith responded in kind with a small smile and returned the nod. It was a little more encouraging that the Slytherin prefect seemed in somewhat better shape than Miss Cambridge. Perhaps she could see Alexa to her seat.
The boy seemed a bit confused but McCormack gave him a smile and nod in greeting all the same. ”Hello, Mr. Bay.”
The other Slytherin prefect. Braith couldn’t think of this boy’s name but it worked out well since he slipped in quietly. He simply gave the boy a nod then turned his eyes to the door again.
Braith remembered this one though, donning a ridiculously fake name will do that. ”Hello Mr. Barrington,” he greeted the Ravenclaw prefect with a crooked grin before the boy went on to find his seat.
McCormack gave a small nod to the quiet Miss Winters as she entered the classroom and took a seat. He gave her a sidelong glance wondering if she was engaged in silent contemplation as she watched the other professor in the room, then turned his eyes towards the door again.
”Hello, Miss Emmons,” Braith greeted the girl with a small smile, watching her carefully as she crossed the room. She seemed to be a bit dragging, though he hadn’t seen anyone yawning yet so that was slightly encouraging.
Braith returned the girl’s small smile as she walked in. “Hello Miss Starr.” Hm, she looked a bit tired, but he’d be grateful for no yawning today.
And another with a slightly confused look on her face. But Braith didn’t think much of it, simply giving the girl a smile as she walked in. “Hello Miss Delaine.” Was she staring at Botros too? He glanced behind him then shrugged before turning back to the door again.
Who was the kid in the glasses? He looked remotely familiar to Braith, but he couldn’t place him to think of his name. The History of Magic professor simply gave the boy a nod as he walked in, taking note of his grey hair.
Braith returned the smile. “Hello, Miss Carrington,” he said to the girl, giving her a nod as she walked past to greet Botros as well.
Miss.. Newell, right? Braith gave the young Slytherin girl a nod as she found her seat.
Braith watched the boy with a bit of concern as he walked into the classroom. “Hello Mr. Rehman. Alright?” Looked like he had a leg injury or something, having trouble walking.
McCormack gave Mr. Kildare a nod in greeting as he entered the room. Cool people club? He gave a glance to Botros as the kid pointed to his hair, then gave a small chuckle. Yeah, he had no idea what that meant but teenagers were funny sometimes.
”Mr. Branxton.” McCormack returned the nod and small smile he received from the Ravenclaw captain then watched him with a hint of curiosity. The kid looked awfully wrinkly. Like the victim of an aging potion gone wrong.
”Hello Mr. Strand,” Braith greeted the boy with a smile. “Good to hear. I’m sure it will live up to your expectations.” Good student, he was. Braith was certain he’d have no trouble today.
”Hello Miss Hedge,” Braith greeted the girl with a small smile of his own and returned the wave with a nod. He watched her carefully as she took her seat. Was there a late night party last night?
Braith didn’t answer the boy right away, merely watching him with raised eyebrow as he trailed off, caught in the idle of a syllable as he stared at Ab. Really, what was with these kids and their lack of social graces? “Hello Mr Atreyu,” Braith greeted the boy before he finally turned to locate his seat.
Well, McCormack certainly remembered the young Miss from class, but the name failed him. It was one of those hyphenated mouthfuls of a name that he thought it would be best to not even attempt right now. He knew he’d probably mess it up. “Good day,” he said simply with the hint of his crooked grin before the girl moved on to find her seat.
Braith wasn’t sure he knew this one. Had he been in his class previously? If he had been he was awfully quiet and he simply gave the silent boy a nod as he walked past.
”Hello Mr. Lecium,” he gave the boy a small smile and nod in greeting as he walked in and took a seat.
McCormack raised an eyebrow at the young girl as she blinked up at him. Did she have crow’s feet? “No, dear,” he said, looking down at her with a soft smile. “You’re exactly where you need to be. Joint lesson today.” Was that what all the confused looks were about? Wondering what he was doing inside the Ancient Runes classroom? Merlin, didn’t these kids pay any attention to their noticeboards?
Braith watched the girl with a hint of amusement as she purposefully took her seat then cast her eyes to the front. And no, he didn’t miss the look of confusion. Another who would benefit fro reading the noticeboard, though Braith knew from his earlier class that she was a rather bright girl. “Hello Miss Kostantinova.” He was rather proud of himself for remembering that long name.
”Good day, Miss Fischer,” he nodded in greeting to the Gryffindor captain, then turned to glance at Ab, hearing her question. Having difficulty walking? Probably a Quidditch injury.
What was going on here? Braith followed Ab's gaze to the two red-faced students and watched them a minute. At least there was no hand-holding from students like in his previous lesson , but he'd love it if students could keep their little romantic tendencies outside the classroom. The thought of Ancient Runes and History of Magic together was actually something of a fantasy that Cutty thought too good to be real. It wasn't the teachers, although knowing that each was competent helped, but the subjects themselves. Also, Cutty was apparently a nerd like that. When he entered the classroom earlier he hadn't bothered to greet the blonde man, because even with his thick lensed spectacles he didn't recognize Botros having only seen him twice and both times he had been old as hell.
So he had noted the Slytherpuff love and tucked it away for common ammo later and willed himself not to laugh as ...Oh, dear.
Oh.
They were talking about Egypt.
Merlin help him.
Cutty inhaled and filled his cheeks with air then slooowly exhaled coughing and wheezing a little toward the end.
Adelaide was kind of staring at Botros. Whatever was going on in this castle was weird. Botros seemed to be getting younger while students and other teachers were getting older. How was this even remotely possible in anyway?
...But then McCormack was talking and holding up things. What were they? Really she couldn't see very well from where she was sitting so she got up and walked to the desk. He had said it was all right. Addi inspected the things a little before turning back to the professor.
"They're from Egypt and seem to have hieroglyphs on them." She pointed to the blue one with the eye. "That's the Eye of Horus. He was one of the Egyptian gods." Yay for her childhood mythology obsession paying off in a class.
She went back to her seat and waited for him to go on.
Having steeled himself against what he thought would be a general barrage of the information that often accompanied talks about Egypt, Cutty put up his hand and offered a reply to Professor McCormack, "They're written in Mdw Ntr." Or as it was known in English, the Divine Language.

Alex squinted at the artifacts, trying hard to see the symbols that were written on each one. She recognized them as hieroglyphics, as the other students had mentioned. Alex raised her hand because one of the symbols looked familiar to her. "One of the symbols is an an ankh and it's known as the symbol of life", Alex said. She wasn't extremely knowledgeable about hieroglyphics in general, but she was confident about the answer she had given.

She was still staring only now it was just occasional glances over at Botros because Professor McCormack was talking and Ella did find the artifacts he was showing quite interesting. She'd read enough to know that they were from Egypt. The Eye of Horus was a good indicator of that. And because several other classmates had already given information that she knew, the blonde tried to think of anything else that would have been of use to the others. Hmm.
Oh, the beetle! "That's a Scarab beetle on the first one, I think. They were important symbols and I think...associated with the sun." Maybe. They were also associated with dung but Ella wasn't about to say that.
And Oakey would have loved this class, did Botros know?

Grinning from ear to ear, adi waved to Benny as he settled down. Too bad he won't get to have a little chat with him as the class was starting. Time to focus! Focus he must but that was sort of difficult after Sophie had said yes to his question.
Focus, focus, focus! Adi eyed the objects the History of Magic Professor was showing them. They reminded him of cavemen as they would draw on caves but these drawing were on stones or rocks or something. The symbols were familiar..."Those are Egyptian symbols,'' he said, his hand in the air. He recognised them from that computer game he played at home- Amazing Adventure: The Lost Tomb.
The sixth year squinted to get a better look at the items on his Professor's desk when he noticed that everyone else had picked up what he had. At first glance, perhaps he was wrong because there were more ancient cultures then Greek, Roman and Egyptian, it all did look rather Egyptian to him. But that was mostly because of the type of artistry and, yeah, the eye.
That was very Egyptian looking to him.
BUT seeing as how everyone else had ready answered, he was just gonna sit in silence. As per usual.
Was she surprised to see him? McCormack himself was a little surprised as the Gryffindor Prefect walked in. Not surprised by her presence as she seemed to be, but more by her appearance and demeanor. Caelen looked up and focused as the professor started talking. Because she didn't want to miss this weird double lesson by sleeping in class. Or by daydreaming the whole time. Lessons were important things, ya know?
Also, she thought she figured out the carvings. They came from somewhere in the Middle Eastern part of the Ancient world. But the question was Mesopotamia or Egypt? They both used carvings like that, but she couldn't remember what the carvings had in common. One used a lot of triangles, she remembered that. The other -the Egyptian one, she thinks- uses a lot of shapes and abstract things to mean language. Hmm, it was probably Egyptian because of the second one. But which one should she say? Why not both?
"Umm, it's either Egyptian or Mesopotamian because of the use of the ancient language. But probably... Egyptian. Because of the way the language looks." Okay, she made that guess sound surprisingly smart.
And what about the Professors lack of oldness? He never explained, only looked uncomfortable when people noticed it. Which made her feel like it was a LITTLE less fishy. Because what evil mastermind feels uncomfortable with his own work? Which meant that maybe the potions professor gave him a potion and he was now sporting the cool head of hair. But she would still have to keep her eye out.
That reminded her. She didn't need the potion, so she decided to keep it with her. Caelen figured it would come in handy soon and she didn't want to waste it on herself. A.K.A someone who didn't need it right now. A fact that the little redhead was proud of. Not that she was part of a probably small group of students who still looked young and probably didn't know why, but that she didn't need anything to help her. And of course she wasn't proud of the poor students who WERE really really old, because it seemed to be hurting them, but hey. She had a potion, if anyone needed it.

Nigel knew the fun could only last one class now that Professor McCormack had actually looked at the roster for the class. Oh well. Now on to what they would be learning. Today. Nice this was awesome. The Prefect was very interested in this. He did wanted to be a curse breaker after all.
Was the first one a cartouche? Nigel could not really tell, but logograms were always interesting.
He walked up to get a closer look and went back to his seat and continued to take notes.
