Not one, but two of the boys from her school had the ill manner to enter class tardy? Bronislava wasn't sure if that was their feeble attempt at being disruptive, but all it seemed to do was provide a poor reflection on Durmstrang. Certainly they were better than that and needed to be more subtle and sophisticated than they were showing. She shot them both an unimpressed look then focused back on the lesson, one that she was already skilled with, but she also wanted to scope out her competition and remained attentive.

She had several in her sights today and she kept them in her peripheral vision as she pulled the gloves from her bag and put them on. The Durmstrang girl gently pulled the little toad from his glass box and smirked slightly to herself. Three of her favorite subjects basically combined into one class, how interesting that this professor would choose alihotsy to switch onto this creature's back. She wondered if the amphibian would be induced into hysteria as a result. It would be interesting to see, but that was not her focus right now.

Successfully mastered, right. Fluidly and one by one, Bronislava waved her wand over the toad, repeating the incantation. "Obiectum Verto... Obiectum Verto." Soon half of her toad was covered with leaves and much of her plant was covered with the little spikes of the toad. She allowed a faint smile to appear as she looked down at the creature, pleased with her work, then looked up at a couple of the other students to assess their work. Raising her hand, she tried to get the professor's attention. "Madame, you vould like to see my toad?" That was what she had said, right? She was ready to present her work.

Practice time was over. It was time to get down to business. She wished that she didn't have to practice with a toad, but all magical creatures considered a toad really wasn't that bad. She pulled her gloves on and stared at the toad... almost ad if daring it too jump at her or something. That would definitely be a bad time for the toad if that happened to her.

She felt fully confident that this task would be as easy as pie for her. She looked around the room and noticed that Adi was having problems. She resisted the urge to poke fun at him. She couldn't afford to lose anymore house points, not even for speaking the truth.

Focusing her attention back on her toad the sixth year once again picked up her wand while saying "Obiectum Verto." A smile played across her face as she watched the leaf transfer on to the toad. This was going to be a cake walk. She was just about to ask the professor to look at what she accomplished when a slightly older student beat her to it. So they didn't have to be checked after the first time. Cool, she would just continue to practice until she was ready for approval to move on to transferring more than one leaf at a time.

Oh sure foreign kid, slip into the class late, no big deal. She paid hardly any attention as the Professor did her scolding. That's what you got. She didn't know how they did it at their schools but here they were forced to be ontime for Transfiguration class. It was a thing, a thing they needed to get used to. Merlin knows they'd been nothing but trouble so far, the rude kind that didn't like talking to anyone but each other. Pfft.

She looked to her toad. Switching leaves. Okay. Lex checked the incantation once more. Obiectum Verto. It didn't surprize her that she didn't know this one either. It wasn't like the young Gryffindor spent half her time reading spell books. Not this kind.

"Obiectum Verto...Obiectum Verto.......Obiectum Verto." Had to get it rolling off her tongue just right. Imagine the poor toad if she accidentally ended up switching out his eye or something. Aim and wand movement would definitely be next on her list of things to get right before attempting anything on the toad. He'd appreciate it lots, she could tell.

"Obiectum Verto."

Sighing to himself, Adi tried again. "Obiectum Verto!'' Still nothing. Not so much as a piece of the leaf on Kermit. Would he ever get this right? "Obiectum Verto!'' Oooh! Lookie! A leaf from the plant swapped with one of the horns from Kermit! Finally some progress! And the horn thingy from Kermit was on the plant. The plant would look even weirder when this was done.

Thrilled with himself the first year continued. "Obiectum Verto!'' He carefully traced out the half infinity sign. Heh. Nothing happened. Oh well. "Obiectum Verto!'' Everything still remained the same. "Obiectum Verto!'' Yes! Another swap occurred! He could do this!

Say no more, Professor. Cutty was on it! "Obiectum verto, obiectum verto, obiectum vert." he chanted below his breath practicing how it should sound. He swished his wand in the fish-like shape and looked down at the little horned toad. It's twitching and blinking made it appear to be looking him up and down as if to say, 'AND what are youuuuuuuUUUUuuuu gonna doooooo, h'mmmmmmmm?' It was already a little agitated from the rustling of it's glass enclosure.
Wand out, Cutty glanced down at the tiny creature, who was looking up at him over its front legs. 'Well, make me awesome.' It seemed to say. The boy smirked a sadistic smirk knowing that this was going to be enjoyable. It always was. And it was probably at least part of why he liked Transfiguration so much other than the very idea that you can take something you don't want and turn it into something you do.

"Obiectum verto!" and air-whale movement. At first Cutty thought it hadn't worked because where once was a spikey area on the creatures body there was now what looked like a speck of herb. But then the speck of herb widened and eventually unrolled revealing a full alihotsy leaf. The boy was beyond glad.

Right. So she most definitely had the incantation down. Time to move on and practice the wand movement. Adelaide picked it up and smiled a little bit at the toad. Poor thing. He had no idea what was coming. At least he was only going to be covered in leaves and not turned into something that was meant to be worn.

She moved her wand in the motion, not saying anything. Addi wanted to make sure she got this right. She wanted to get the spell without causing any problems.

Once she felt like she had it, time to put the two together. Adelaide gave the toad one more soft smile. She moved her wand and said , "Obiectum verto." Nothing. Sigh. Well, it would've been weird if she got it right away right?

Tora raised her wand to start Transfiguring but then remembered that she should probably practice the spell before hand. Ahem. "Obiectum verto...." she read out slowly from her notes. "Obiectum verto. Obiectum Verto!" she said more strongly, getting the hang of it. Grinning she picked up her wand, and giving no warning whatsoever to the poor toad, loudly said, "Obiectum Verto!" Both eyes open and staring at the toad this time. She had discovered that closing her eyes while she worked magic didn't work as well as it did when she (wasn't afraid and) watched what she was doing.

She watched impatiently. The horn on which she had specified was one right on the nose of the toad and it had started to quiver excitingly. Ha! Pretty soon Tora spotted a green leaf sprouting and seconds later she had a toad with a nice leaf on it's nose. BEAM.

Ok, so what was next? The toad had tons of horns and to be perfectly honest, Tora didn't feel like doing them all individually. Maybe if she did half Professor Bellaire would let her start doing two at a time? This spell seeped to come naturally to Tora, like most Transfiguration spells, and so she figured it would be easy to step it up and do multiple at a time. She sighed and set to work trying to get at least half the horns done. "Obiectum verto!"

Ascanius frankly didn't understand the purpose of this exercise. It wasn't as if the toad would be better off or that the magic they were doing would be particularly helpful. But there was no way he was going to offer up that position on this spell. He didn't speak much in class as a rule.

So he just muttered the incantation over and over again without any little issues, "Obiectum Verto....Obiectum Verto....Obiectum Verto....." His name was Latin. If he had a problem saying these two words correctly then THAT was an issue.

With the spell under his belt he practiced the wand motion alone over and over again. He kept his eyes peeled on the toad the whole time tough. Nasty bugger.

Feeling good about her success so far Hannah just knew that she wasn't going to have any problems when it came to switching spells. She was ready to move on to switching more than one leaf at a time.

She looked at the toad again just to make sure that it wasn't looking shifty. All it would take was one leap and she would be done. Toads really were pretty nasty. Trying to pretend that it was a flower or anything else really Hannah moved on.

With her wand moving in the half figure eight movement thingy she shouted "Obiectum Verto." and watched as yet another leaf made it's way to the frog. She was really starting to get confident. She could probably do this with her eyes closed. Maybe she would try that next time. The professor surely wouldn't notice right? There was so much going on around her that she seriously doubted it.

Adi wasn't haven't much progress with his Switching Spell but far from feeling discouraged, he was ready to try again. "Obiectum Verto!'' He followed that with the wand movement. Nothing. Though he could swear he saw one of the horn thingy from Kermit do a weird sort of movement like it wanted to leave him.

"Obiectum Verto!'' Instantly, the same horn from Kermit that Adi had seen earlier doing the funny movement swapped with one of the leaves. About time! "Obiectum Verto!'' Another horn and leaf were swapped. "Obiectum Verto! Obiectum Verto! Obiectum Verto!'' Two out of the last three incantations caused swaps. The young badger was elated.

Practice time! Marigold decided to try the incantation first.

"Obiectum Verto! Oh bee ect um Vere toe? Obiectum Verto!" she slowly continued saying the incantation. This one was a little difficult. Next was the wand movement. Kinda like a fishy, right? She twirled her wand fancily before going through the wand movement.

Now to you, toadie.

Would it wrong to gloat? PFFFT! That was one of her specialties after all. She was still debating on trying it with her eyes closed. What could possibly go wrong? Well, considering they were casting spells the answer would most likely be a lot. Still, she couldn't help but want to try it out.

Peeking around to make sure that the professor was not looking at her the sixth year hurriedly closed her eyes. She made the wand movement while carefully saying "Obiectum Verto." She opened her eyes before anybody could be any the wiser. She was immediately disappointed. She thought that it should have worked without any problem considering she was Hannah Marie Lockwood and she was perfect.

At least nobody knew that she had failed this attempt. She would just open her eyes and do it right the next time. It would be her little secret!

Caleb prepared himself to practice the charm, but knew that it would be best to practice the pronunciation and all that jazz first. As he got his toad, he looked around and noticed that some of his classmates were NAMING them. Pssh. What amateurs. Naming your animals that you used in class was just going to get you attached and throw off your Transfiguration game.

Not to mention Beans would get so jealous. Good thing he had no horns so he wouldn't be subjected to the switching spell!

"Obiectum verto, Obiectum verto....Obiectum verto..." he muttered over and over again. This was a tricky one. He was afraid if he didn't go slow he'd pronounce the first bit wrong.

Okay, time to get down to business. Gloves were on. Things had been practiced. She was ready.

Ella eyed the toad, then the plant, then the toad again. A toad with leaves. She could manage that, yeah? She just needed to not be distracted. That meant absolutely no glancing in the boyfriend's direction at all. It was all about Bart the toad right now. ALL. ABOUT. BART.

After practicing the wand movement one more time for good measure, Ella cleared her throat and said clearly, "Obiectum Verto!" She had made sure the movement was correct and was pleased to see that a leaf had appeared on the toad's back. It was only one leaf and that wasn't anything to brag about but it was progress. Ella liked progress. And now she was going to make some more.

It was time to try this thing out on the toad in the glass. It didn't look any more apprehensive than she felt. A sure sign that it was obviously fine with this experiment upon seeing her practice it a few times. He wasn't worried, she wasn't worried. This was how it was meant to be. She glanced across and spotted a conflicted Mo. Poor guy. His toad must have been giving him pathetic looks. He should consider that maybe the toad was just hungry and wanted food while he was cast on repeatedly.

In any case it was none of her business so Lex looked once again to her own toad, just sitting there. It almost looked like he was getting impatient, but that might just have been her impatience reflected through the toad. Was that even possible?

Dunno. Ask the toad. It was the one giving the looks.

"What'd you say we get this show on the road, hmm?" It closed then opened one eye then the next. In toad speak that was either 'yes' or 'oh merlin don't kill me, please tell me you're competent', either way, she was casting now.

"Obiectum verto!" There were waves and loads of concentration and determination in her casting and she watched with fascination as the horn the toad wore became a leaf and the horn...appeared where the leaf once was. Now there was something you didn't see everyday.

Neat!

All right. Time to get this spell right. Adelaide picked up her wand and pointed it at the toad. She took a deep breath before attempting the spell once more. "Obiectum verto!" Proper pronunciation, proper wand movement.

She looked down and inspected the toad and saw a little leaf. Success! Now to do that about a hundred more times. Addi let out a sigh and went to work. Repeating the spell over and over and over...

Once Kace had the incantation down, it was time to put the spell in action. He hoped he could say the spell right..let alone doing the wand movement. He checked his notebook for the incantation again. It was "Obiectum Verto." That was simple enough.

Now he had to turn the frogs horn into a leaf? Huh...well he knew he could do this. He did the wand movement which was kind of like a half loop. He did it and then said..."Obiectum Verto!" and then he gasped. A little horn near the front of his face turned into a little leaf.

Now to focus on getting more of his horns into leafs.

Mo had practiced the wandwork and incantation over and over until they were perfect, and he probably would KEEP practicing them, in spite of the fatigue in his arm and his throat getting scratchy. It wasn't like the professor was checking on progress, right?

But he wanted to do this right, and he really needed to make the full effort in this class or else just drop it completely. The full effort, in this case, was casting the spell and switching the leaf and the lizard. It wouldn't hurt. It wouldn't hurt the creature at ALL. Right?

"Obiectum Verto," Mo drew the open-ended infinity symbol with his wand, and focused all his intention on that ONE leaf and one horn. When he looked again, the horn was replaced by the leaf, and the lizard was uninjured. He looked resentful, though, and Mo glanced around anxiously.

Resentful horned toad? Anyone?

Alright, she'd had enough practice, time to actually get something done.

Picking up her wand, she removed the creepy thing from its container, pointed it at the toad, cleared her throat, and began saying the incantation and doing the wand movement. "Obiectum Verto." She said calmly, concentrating on the little horn near its head. A small leaf appeared in the place of one of the horns. Yes! This was actually not as hard as she had initially expected. Stretching her arms a bit, she once again picked up her wand and focused on another one of the horns on the toad.

Adi had taken a bit of break to study the progress of the others. Some had done pretty well but others were now making progress. Like him. He caught sight of Hannah. Why did she have her eyes closed? He watched her. Ohhh! That's why! Adi sniggered to himself before whispering over to her, ''You can't be good at everything, Hannah.''

Right. Back to Kermit. "Obiectum Verto!'' he said clearly while doing the movement. Swap! Yaaaay! He was getting better at this! "Obiectum Verto! Obiectum Verto!'' But nothing happened for those last two. Hmmmm. Still some work to be done.

Still a bit frustrated with the failed attempt, Hannah tried to move on and forget that it ever happened. She glared at her toad as if it was the creature's fault. It most likely was after all it had been giving her "the eyes" since she started practicing. It wasn't like she picked the toad to be the subject today.

She was just getting back in the right frame of mind to switch another leaf for a horn when somebody whispered something to her. She whipped around in the direction of the voice and grimaced when she saw who the voice belonged to. Was that boy everywhere or what? It was safe to bet that Adi witnessed her failed attempt, but instead of telling him off like she normally would the sixth year just shot him a nasty look instead. "I don't know what you're talking about." she whispered back. Yup, she was going to deny, deny, deny!!!

With her wand back in her hand she made the proper movements and said "Obiectum Verto!" and looked in the direction of Adi to see if he was watching her successfully attach another leaf to the toad. Had even managed to accomplish anything yet? She wasn't going to lose any more house points for cheeks anytime soon, so she kept that little bit to herself for now.

Adi sniggered some more. Quietly of course because he did not want to disturb the class. "You can deny it but I saw everything.'' Seriously, did Hannah really think she was going to be good at everything? He remembered her saying she was perfect when they met at the Courtyard. Clearly that wasn't true. He wondered if she had mastered doing any other spells with her eyes closed.

He flashed Hannah a sly grin before turning back to Kermit and the Plant. "Obiectum Verto!'' As soon as he was done with the wand movement, another swap happened. Yay! The firstie was finally getting a hang of this! "Obiectum Verto!'' Swap! "Obiectum Verto!'' Swap! "Obiectum Verto!'' Swap!

Soon Kermit was looking rather...leafy. And the plant? Almost covered in horns.

So Wade felt like he had done enough practicing before beginning. He donned on his dragon hide gloves before eyeing the toad again. They blinked back at each other for a moment, This shouldn't hurt.. hopefully. He last thought before eyeing the plant too. Just look all those leafs, he thought about how the toad will look without all those spiky horns.

Mimicking the wand movement he had practiced so well earlier, he aimed it at the toad while saying. "Obiectum Verto!" Concentrating on the amount of leaves and horns he wanted to switch. It was a good start to him as a few leafs went on the toad. There were still some on the plant, and he was definitely going to take care of that.

Now to practice the wand movement. Caleb knew he wouldn't have much trouble with this bit - it was how he wrote his X's normally, so it was just like drawing it on a big canvas. So he took his wand and began to practice it in the air in front of him. X after X after X. Right. Nice and easy.

He looked down at the toad. Just a few more practices with the wand movement and he'd be ready to start switching, so get prepared, Toady!

The little puff was gonna try it again. He did manage to make one horn turn into a little leaf. Maybe he could do a couple more? Yeah he could manage that. He knew the incantation and plus he could hear his classmates saying it so he knew he wasn't saying it wrong. He did the wand movement of kind of like a half loop, or a fish without the tail drawn. He was crazy but he was using his imagination to make it easier.

Alright time to make this work. He was glad his toad was sitting there patiently. It didn't seem like it was in pain, which is a good thing. The professor said they weren't harming them but you never know. The professor can't read their feelings.

He did the wand movement and concentrated and then said, "Obiectum Verto!" and then nothing happened....He didn't see a change. Then he realized he was doing the wand movement wrong. Woopsies....

Now he was gonna try again. "Obiectum Verto!" and then did the wand movement right this time and concentrated and a few more horns turned into leafs. SWEET!
