Another morning and another class. Sophia hummed as she headed up the board for the morning lesson. True to her nature the class was spotless as per usual and the air bright and crisp. There was nothing like having a class early in the morning.
When she got done heading up the board for the morning lesson, she went ahead and placed a small potted Alihotsy plant along with a clear glass box holding a horned toad, on each student's desk.
She then took her seat and waited for her class to arrive to begin her morning's lesson.

Transfiguration.
Ella was still a little uneasy about the rabbit into hat thing but she tried to shake that off because she wanted to learn and part of that was doing things you might not necessarily want to do. Smoothing her uniform, the seventeen took a deep breath and entered the room.
"Morning Professor." She greeted, giving Bellaire a polite smile. It was early and her brain was still a bit fuzzy but the cool air helped wake her up a bit.
Wandering over to a seat in the middle of the room, Ella stood and waited. Her attention was then on the toad. A TOAD. Cool. Finger wiggles for you, Bart. YUP. Bart. She'd already named him.
>.<
You'd think she'd learn not to name things she'd be doing magic on already.

Another early morning of class for Wade. He had quite liked those rabbits from the last lesson, though didn't hold a high expectation in dealing with them again. The Professor quite made it clear she wasn't too fond of them. Anyways, after making sure he looked proper and everything he headed right to Transfiguration.
"Good morning, Professor." He smiled at Professor Bellaire upon entering, who was at her desk already. Afterward, he blinked momentarily at the plant and box of horned toad at every other desk, before standing near one of them in the middle row. He tried not to stare at it too much. He had quite a history of getting attached to toads and frogs, after all. Heh.

Yaaaaaaay, favourite lesson time. Theodore almost skipped into the classroom and took his usual position at the very front desk. He was in a great mood today, not just because this was his favourite class, but about everything. "Good morning, Professor Bellaire." Theo stood behind his desk and smiled his brightest grin.
Ooh, wand movement on the board. Theo sucked at those.

Well time for another transfiguration lesson and Minerva was eager to get to this lesson. She wanted to see Professor Bellaire and hadn't had a chance yet. Walking into class she smiled "Hello Professor, I was wondering if I could have a moment of your time after class today." She just wanted some advice and to make sure she had found all the books she possibly could.
Turning she smiled at Ella and gave Ella a little wave than went over and stood my her usual seat and smiling at the person standing at the seat next to her, "Hi" She said quietly before looking at the plant and toad. A plant, really? Did it have to be a plant? Well her fears were getting better now, so transfiguring a plant shouldn't be to hard. Then eyes went to a toad, what was with the transfiguring of animals this term?

Switching spells? Well heck yeah! West was eager, even if it was Bellaire and all that. He wasn't gonna let that get him down when Transfiguration was on the table and switching spells. He'd been waiting for this.
"Morning, Professor."
He went and stood at the desk next to Theo, gave his best mate a fist bump, and waited to be told they could sit.

Uniform straight and neat, hair slightly ruffled but still good (was it?) and tie straightened at the last minute. Could you tell it was time for Transfiguration?
Readjusting his grip on his bag, Alec headed into the classroom... and paused. Were those... TOADS? On each of the desks? First rabbits and now toads. Did that mean that they were going to be practising on them? One look over at the board... told him that they could be. Switching spell? That didn't really sound as familiar as he'd have liked. And that wand movement looked like half a bowtie. Almost.
... Shrug.
Walking further into the classroom, the Hufflepuff shot a smile over at Bellaire. "Morning Professor!" he said, right before heading over towards an empty seat and standing behind it. He glanced down at the plant on Bellaire's desk momentarily before turning his attention over towards... the toad. In a glass box. He still didn't understand.
Also. It was a little chilly in here, did Bellaire know?

"Good morrrrrrrning, 'fessor." It was a good morning. It looked okay outside, and they seemed to over the drastic amounts of snow that had seemed to plague them recently. Winter and all. But it wasn't December or January anymore. It was closer to the end of the year to be exact.
Els slipped to stand behind a desk somewhat near to Ella, not for any specific reason but because she was in the middle area. Elodie liked the middle too. Maybe it was an 'E' name thing. Oh. A plant. And a....horned toad.
Putting her face as close as possible to the box containing said horned toad, the fifth year squinted. yeah, she'd never understand it. Never. If it wasn't a toad, why did it get the NAME?!
Whatevs. Class and all. She straightened herself back up and resumed standing behind the desk, trying her hardest not to fidget and sway and wiggle.
One thing Nigel did learn last time was not o yawn on the way into class. Apparently Bellaire did not like students being tired. Even though it was a tad early.
"Morning, Professor Bellaire"
Wonder why the small plant on each desk though.

Oooh! Toads! It was the first thing Adi noticed when he arrived in the room, hoping he was not late. He had spent extra time today, making sure he was all neat in appearance. Didn't want to get a talking to from Bellaire, did he? But TOADS! Awesomeee!
And there was the Professor. "Hello, Professor,'' the boy said politely and with a smile. He just wanted to go say hello to a toad! So he did just that. He went over to the desk he was going to use that lesson. "Hiya, Mr. Toad.'' He'd have to come up with a better name but for now, that would do. Still quite excited, Adi stood at the desk waiting for instructions from Bellaire.
This was a tad early for class. He didn't sleep well the night before so he tried to refrain from yawning too much. Once he got to the classroom, he saw other students made it there as well. He smiled and saw the teacher in the front of the classroom. He might as well be polite even though he really didn't feel like talking. He wished he could be back in his bed. "Good morning Professor." he said with a tight smile and then went to go find his seat.
Once he found his seat which was near the middle of the room, he noticed the desk contained a horned toad. He looked at it and examined it closely. It was cool looking he had to admit. He wondered what they were gonna be doing with them today.

Mostly, Mo didn't want to come back to Transfiguration. At all. He'd petitioned his mother to drop the class, but to no avail. And after that last class, where Mo had been completely horrified by bunny-castin, on top of the homework in which he'd tried to express his concerns to the professor in a thoughtful way, only to be completely rejected... he wasn't feeling good about Transfig today.
When he spotted the toad on his desk, Mo choked a bit as he took his spot beside the desk. He might cry. He almost certainly would.
Uncaring about going to Transfiguration today, Aidan walked into the classroom slowly, only to quicken his pace when he saw the toads on the desk! What were they doing with toads?! Could they keep them afterwards? He wanted a toad.
THIS toad. The one on the desk he sat at. Yes, he sat at a desk based on the looks of the toad. He liked this one.
He looked up at the board. Switching spell? Cool. The Ravenclaw mentally practiced the wand movement while he waited for class to start.

Lex was usually rushing to this class but today she wasn't. Not because she had no interest this time but because she'd left her Common Room with good enough time to spare, even got Melanie to brush her hair for her. It needed to be done, the knots were REAL.
"Hello Professor."
OHAI TOAD!
Lex looked to the board. Toads were cause for wonder when they were suddenly in your class. She made a beeline for the desk right next to Aidan's and stood behind the chair. "Lookit! Toads!" That doubled as hello in case he was wondering.
She tapped on the glass that held hers. It would do something interesting yes? "We should have ours just switch desks completely." She whispered with a solemn nod. That'd be cool, not just switching glasses on the same desk.

Ascanius was sort of unfeeling about this class, yeah? She wasn't the type of Professor who took kindly to his compliments, which was still totally a mystery to him, but she also wasn't a guy....she had that working for her. So yeah, he just was meh about Transfiguration.
He walked in regardless and nodded at the Professor, "Morning, ma'am." And then took a standing spot next to his desk.

Everyone got a bright 'good-morning' from the professor, except Theo who also got a smile and a wink. Yep she was expecting very good things from him but he was shaping up to be a late bloomer apparently. Oh well, he must be from good stock being Slytherin and all.

Dora sat herself way waaaaaaay in the back in case this class ended up being rubbish, so she could slip out unnoticed. Not that she was hoping for it, since this was one of her favorite branches of magic, but she was prepared.
Switching spells?
Awesome.
She knew all sorts of things about them, but not ever being one to offer up responses to question, she just kept quiet and wondered about the whole speech that came before the question asked.

Goodness. Caleb hadn't expected such harshness from the Transfiguration professor - or maybe he did. He wasn't sure. He was on alert right now, honestly, after everything that had happened these past few weeks - the chamber, the exploding orbs - he was on alert, yes indeed. NO ONE WAS PULLING FUNNY BUSINESS WITH HIM TODAY.
He raised his hand. "Um, Switching Spells send the item you're switching to like, some transfiguration void or something right? Kind of like the vanishing spell..." he said. He really had no idea what he was saying. Too focused on possible attacks right now.

Minerva wanted to sit.. why hadn't she said to sit yet. Sighing inwardly she listened as Professor Bellaire went on and on about how they used animals. She didn't agree with most of it, but understood it, so she wasn't going to say anything. Nope not worth it. She was however disappointed the woman didn't seem to notice her question about seeing her after class.
When she asked about the spell Minerva put her hand up, "Professor the switching spell can swap an item for something else. If you wanted to change someones teeth and make them gumdrops instead." At least she thought you could do that spell.
You have bewitched me body and soul, And I love- I love- I love you
Mack skipped through the hallways, she was happy that she was beginning to see more of the sun, as well as the Quidditch season being in full swing. She came to a halt outside of the transfiguration classroom and before walking in she straightened her robes and ran her fingers through her hair.
The blonde then turned on her heel and entered Professor Bellaire's classroom. "Good morning Professor Bellaire, it's a wonderful day for your lesson." Mackenzie grinned and let her eyes sweep the room, she kept her breathing steady as she saw a few of the other boys and quickly chose a desk off to the left side if the class room. She made her way over to the desk at the front of the last row and stood beside it. Looking down she examined the toad smiling. oh what kind of fun will we be having today...
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Aw man! They couldn't sit as yet. Ah well. Switching spells. Awesome! Adi had heard of this spell. And read about it too. So, what could he tell Professor Bellaire? He locked his eyes on the toad on his desk as he thought.
Adi raised a hand. "It's used to swap one item for another.'' It was basically all he could remember. He'd need to do a lot more reading if he wanted to be a fast learner.
Taylor raised her hand at the question, "Professor, there is a white light when you do it." Tay looked down and messed with her uniform, waiting to have it confirmed or denied or something. She sighed, not in the mood to be there at the moment. Taylor knew that she needed to get distracted though and so why not go head first and study her butt off... It would do her some good, wouldnt it? Hmm... she just needed to clear her mind. Tay closed her eyes and took a deep breath or two then smiled, reopening and tuning back into the professor. Taylor messed with her blonde curls and sighed, looking around to see if any of her friends were at least here. It would be more fun with friends but alas they couldnt chat during the lesson anyways so why bother looking. She stopped looking around and just stared at a spot near the professor.

Yeahh he noticed the wink. West glanced at his best mate and held in a sigh. Just... well they didn't have to agree on everything and all.
But whatevs, he could definitely give an answer. He put his hand up, "Ma'am, you need to be able to see the initial item, but you don't have to see the item you're switching it for once you're proficient enough, as long as you can visualise the item to be switched."
Could he play with the horned toad?

Transfiguration... not Lily's favorite, but also not her worst subject. The claw started to take notes on her parchment while the professor introduced the topic of the day's class. Switching spells. Not quite the easiest to remember everything about, but not too bad.
After fiddling with her uniform just a tad to smooth out a wrinkle, Lily put her hand up to offer a comment. "The wand movement is somewhat like the symbol for infinity, only you don't finish it." She said, dropping her hand and her voice at the end of her comment. Would they know what the infinity symbol looked like? Quietly, the claw went back to jotting down the comments of her peers, briefly looking up from her parchment as each one spoke.

The Professor...didn't tell them they could sit. She always made it clear when they could sit. Er...Lex raised her hand, but then slowly lowered it. If it wasn't mentioned then it probably wasn't meant to happen and she wasn't about to be the annoying Gryffindor that set the Professor off on a points reduction rampage. In her first year definitely, in her second year maybe but now? NO.
Not yet anyway. If they ended up standing too long she'd ask, points or not.
Around her people were giving all the things about the spell. Repeating wasn't something she liked doing so she kept quiet and continued tapping at the toad's glass.
DOOOOOOOOO something.
