Used for transportation between cars, the train corridor tends to see a lot of traffic. Don't stay in one place too long or you might just get trampled.
The silent scared Abbi slightly and that was because monsters often went all silent before they attacked you. Eyes were wide open though so if anything happened Abbi Campi was ready. She even had a wand to defend herself too. Take that.
Oh wait? No attacking? Okay then. Beams for you missy....and cautious eyes too still. Cause you never knew.
With interest she waited for the girl to say something instead of speaking first. She asked a question and mommy had always told her it was polite to wait because people sometimes had to think. That's probably what this oldie was doing. Not attacking. Psshhht. Silly Abbi.
Eyes straight on the girl she continued to wait and watched as she pulled something out of her pocket. "That's a TOAD!" That was real cool! The name Julian made her giggle again though. "Is he a prince?" His name was princy enough so it made sense in her mind.
Despite the fact that the cat was giving her weird looks (or at least Olly thought so, it might have just been looking weird in general), she tried to stay calm. She was just going to ignore the feline in the girl's hands. It wasn't as if she was scared of them or anything. She just didn't like them. At all.
It was probably because she was just a tiiiiiny bit emotional right now, having just said goodbye to her parents and sister a moment ago. It was probably because she was around Odette's age. It was probably because the girl kept on giggling. Or because she had just asked her if Julian was a prince. Either way, there was something about this little girl that made Olly soften slightly, even attempting a small smile for her.
"I don't know." Olly replied, giving Julian a curious look for a moment before allowing her eyes to rest on the girl again. "Is there a way to find out?" Schuyler came to her mind and the way she had indirectly kissed him back when they first met. So unless you had to kiss the toad directly, he wasn't a prince. Not that Olly was going to say that out loud. Nope.

“The floor is filthy.” she snootily mutters “I would rather have some people more acquainted with it make the preliminary meeting and I could just... catch up.” Floor. Catch. Geddit?
How did this turn into a conversation of bodily harm and gastric juices? The brunette would blink and wonder but blondie was just yakking away, analysis will just have to come later somehow. “Well.... I’m certainly not being melted in anyone’s acid. I’ve been told I cause quite a bit of indigestion.” The one time she will probably say that proudly, being that its taken completely out of context. But given this convo—who cares about context huh?
Gaaaasp. Girl grabbing wrist. Whut? “I..... I did give you my name.” she did kinda, in the subtle hints she seems to have the habit of doing. She glares at the hand around her wrist “I will be needing my wrist Alexa Cambridge, unless you plan to be doing my notes this whole term.” Which was very tempting, except her annoyingly persnickety nature would never be happy with anybody elses’s notes other than her own.
After what seemed to be an indeterminate amount stare-glaring at her pint sized captor the brunette finally sighed “Huxley. That is my name.” cringe. There goes the identifier.
So she didn't seem all that thrilled about being a riot but that might have just been because of the angle Lex was standing at. Everyone wanted to be a riot...in her book anyway. Which...it was odd seeing as she didn't read and had no business dealing with books. Eh, details details.
Oh so it was like that. "Weeeell. I'm plenty acquainted with the ground you know. I could set you guys up or something, give you the ins and outs, what makes it tick. It's favourite flavour of soda. The works!" Because playing along was more fun than sulking. This girl was good and her shoulder wasn't hurting anymore! She'd actually almost forgotten they'd bumped into each other.
Wait what? "Indigestion?" Lex was giggling by now. "I'll have to stick to you then. I'll be less likely to find myself the next meal." Figuratively speaking of course because this was not a stomach but a train. One that had no lanes and no order. Good stuff. "But that's a rather funny thing to be told. Why'd someone say that? HAVE THEY TRIED EATING YOU???"
As for the notes, Lex shrugged. "I'm prepared to hold on for as long as I need to in order to get what I want.It was just a name. Nothing too difficult theeeere. "And you wouldn't want my notes. Especially not in History Of Magic. Just a fair warning." Just in case she was serious about the notes thing.
Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a name! "I like that name!" GRIN. "I'll definitely remember it and you can just call me Lex if you want." Because somehow, she could see the girl walking around the school calling her Alexa Cambridge the whole time.

Well, this was a lovely way of starting her Hogwarts......journey?
Thanks to a very nice man who'd offered to help, Vesper's trunk had been safely tucked away in the luggage compartment...and she was now simply walking along the corridor, looking for an empty compartment. It was all strange to her, of course. She hardly knew anyone...and there wasn't time to properly take notes. It was very clique-like, too; something else that was equally as strange. Basically, she needed to sit and start figuring this stuff out....and noting these house...'crests'. Yes, the fifteen-year old was STILL super anxious about where she'd be sorted.
Where was Dora at? Ves was in desperate need of a Dora...
Nearing the front of the train, she just happened to pass by a compartment....FILLED with people...and there was Dora. Dora was there. Vesper considered the others and debated about stepping in. There was a Dora...and a Blue. Both things she liked...
STARE.
She was just going to debate on it a bit more...and stare...and basically be a creeperdoodle. Vesper might have already pulled the notebook, too...

Worst mood ever. Once in the corridor, West leaned against the wall and waited for Mo. Oldest best friend. Person who knew things. Person who knew him. Person who... knew.
He tapped his sketchbook against his thigh and closed his eyes.

Okay, great.
So what now?
Sophie, who was normally very confident of herself, was suddenly wishing she hadn't blinked long enough to lose her brother in the crowd. She hadn't planned on clinging to him like some octopus, but still, it'd look better for her to arrive with someone than look like the awkward new kid.
She made her way down the corridor, trying to look like she knew what she was doing and had some set place to go. Along the way, she passed some guy leaning up against the wall. He was meditating...or something, so Sophie just edged on by.
Now, where was that brother of hers?

Still, he had been hoping to sit with her on the train so he could have at least ONE person he knew to talk to. He looked around to see if he spotted any of the kids he'd met in Diagon Alley, but he knew it was a slim chance that he'd find any of them in this crowd.
So instead, he just pulled his robes closer to his body, so his rat, Beans, wasn't in danger of accidentally falling out of his pocket. He looked around and bit his lip.
Where should he go?
Sophie lost all thought of meditating older kids, when she walked a few more feet down the corridor and saw her brother just ahead. She smirked to herself and hurried to the back of him. "Caleb!" she suddenly said, knowing full well she might startle him. "There's a snack cart here! ...and some older kid was meditating in the hallway. Weird, huh?" She looked around. "Where are you sitting?"
Yup--a million and one thoughts spilling out her mouth in record speed.
Taylor was wandering up and down the train corridor, saying hi to a few people here and there. She wasn’t really worried about finding a place to sit since she was supposed to be sitting with a few people but she enjoyed wandering the corridor during the ride so whenever the conversation with a person comes to an end or even a drag, she gets up and wanders. Tay was thinking about how she haven’t seen her friend, Lily, in a while, which caused a frown to appeared. She messed with her curls that were streaked with purple and pink and which made her newly pierced from top to bottom ear, sparkle in the changing lights. She was tanned from the summer and she had a new determined look set on her facial features… one that only came with a break-up.

Better than beating up another first year at least (even if the last time had been in his third year, it'd be infinitely worse this time around). He let out a hiss of a breath.
"Trolley." He agreed. But before that, West dropped the music thing out of the window. And it fell... but caught. Miraculously the ear buds got snagged in the window brace and the cord did not come loose from the ipod itself, so it twirled and danced around in the buffeting air almost as if it were a kite.
Which is all it would be good for at Hogwarts anyways.
He managed to stalk around the trunk somehow, and he pushed between Nigel and Mo and into the corridor.
"..... Thanks." He muttered at them in a barely audible voice as he passed them by, and waited for Mo on the other side.
"My mum didn't pack sandwiches this time," Mo stepped around West and fell in beside him. That had been... more tense than Mo would have expected, considering West wasn't really a hot head. He might occasionally react with some temper, but to go nose-to-nose with a belligerent first year?
"Or rather... maybe she would have, but I wanted to walk the shops before the train and I had Fee drop me early. If there's a basket of food waiting for me at the castle, I'll split it with you." It was half West's anyway, by rights. Momma Branxton was well used to feeding Odessa kids after all this time.
The downside was... no food now. "You look good, mate."

Having left her father in a huff, Lily hopped up onto the train from the platform. She had dropped her trunk off in the luggage compartment, but still had her owl with her as well as her shoulder bag. The sixteen year old wandered the corridor without really looking to see where she was going. She looked up just in time to see that she was about to run into a girl. Bumping into her gently, Lily blushed.
"I'm sorry... I... I didn't mean to run into you... I'm so sorry." She stumbled through her apology, avoiding eye contact with the girl who seemed to be older and definitely didn't look too familiar.

Taylor snapped out of her thoughts since, speak of the devil, Lily appeared… and ran into her. She pouted as Lily didn’t even say hi to her and just apologized. Tay crossed her arms, ”Lily! Am I a ghost? I don’t even get a ‘hello, how are you’ just an apology?” She sighed, ”I see how it is…” Taylor had tears in her eyes and started to turn away to go, because obviously she wasn’t wanted here… maybe she would go talk to Wade, Nash or Harvs… or even Brodie. Anything would be better than being ignored by who she thought was her best friend. Taylor sighed and started to walk away, letting a few tears fall. Tay was heading to the back of the train now.

Her eyes being drawn up to the girl's face at the sound of her name being called, Lily did a double take. By then, though the girl, or Taylor, was already turning to go. "Taylor?....www...wait! Come back!!." Lily stuttered a bit, reaching down to pick up Phoenix who was now angrily snapping her beak after being dropped.
Chasing after Taylor, Lily tried to get her friend's attention. "Taylor... come back!! I didn't see you there. I.... I'm sorry...... please come back..." Stopping suddenly, the sixth year gave up chasing Tay. If Tay didn't want to see Lily, then she could keep running.

Her eyes were the same color and she only gotten slightly tanner. Her hair was the same but streaked and cut now… so why didn’t she recognize her. Taylor tapped her fingers, waiting for the girl to answer, getting angrier by the second. ”What do you want?”

"Whaa... Taylor?? I want you to forgive me.... you have no idea what I've been through in the past weeks...." Turning and sliding down to sit on the floor, Lily buried her head in her hands. Struggling to keep herself together, Lily spoke softly, just soft enough that Taylor would have to lean down to hear.
"My dad's not a muggle....he lied to me...he wouldn't even tell me to my face. he wrote me a letter and left it for me in my luggage when I went to visit family." Lily started sobbing quietly. "And I failed my OWLs...I've just been so stressed recently... nothing seems to be going right for me." Now things were even worse, seeing as Taylor didn't seem to want to deal with Lily at all.

Taylor looked at her in shock and she felt bad. She fell to the floor beside her best friend... partially so that she could hear her. Tay wrapped her arms around Lily and rocked her. Taylor just held her friend and rubbed her back, 'I am so sorry..." Tears fell down her cheeks, "Please forgive me, Lils..." She frowned and stroked her friend's hair, "Your father should have told you in person... and dont worry about OWLs, Lily... You still have NEWTs so dont worry..." She felt so horrible. Tay was a bad friend. Taylor pulled her closer and sorta protected her from the various of people stepping over them. She held her and rocked her, not sure what else to do.

Lex beamed at what she would take as a compliment even if it wasn't one. Know why? Because THAT right there wasn't just a smirk, it was an amused one. Meant she was doing something right in this conversation so the beaming was necessary. "I don't make it known to just anymore." She said faking a snobbish tone "But you seem like good people so yeah, come to me for all things floor related, or for anything really, I won't mind and if I don't know the answer I'll find someone who does for you." See how helpful she could be when it suited????
Her explanation for the indigestion seemed so much more legit. "Neat! 'Least you know you've left an impression on others." GRIN. Only boring people had a hard time being remembered. The girl was clearly not if she got gutless people to have indigestion! This conversation wasn't all that much a waste.
What's...in History of Magic?..."Nothing, I just don't really follow along in that class and I don't exactly make a habit of reading so catching up's a little hard. I could take your notes in DADA, Astronomy too but yeah...nothing that requires too much in book knowledge." Sad but true.
OOoooo and she noticed she'd been here for a while. This got Lex grinning. "Fourth Year to be exact!" As for anything she wanted to tell her...."Hmmm...well, we're pretty much broke this year. I guess you should know since we'll have to get plastic cutlery like last year. We don't have house elves anymore, they've been stolen so....it's a regular 'do it yourself' kind of thing. I don't recommend the food, it's rubbish and last year the ice-cream was infected. Don't walk anywhere without a buddy. Dementors might get you like the got the Grounds Keeper and the Giant Squid does not in fact give rides across the lake." Pity really.

"You were looking for the trolley." He managed.
"I guess," Mo mused thoughtfully. He sort of liked being dropped by his sisters, especially with them both so busy. It forced him back into their vision, and for a little while, he was prioritized for them. But there was something sort of charming about the idea that West and Mo could get themselves to the station without help.
He caught the look from West and smiled sheepishly, one shoulder creeping up in a shrug. "What? School clothes... we've been wearing shorts and little else all summer. I'm allowed to comment on your attire." It was easier to limit his comments to West's always-dapper appearance rather than address the reason West was mopey.
He did fiddle with the badge on his cardigan, letting it slide into the pocket almost casually as they continued in search of the trolley.

West shrugged in echo of Mo. "I had to get all new shirts." He held his arms out to indicate why. Length. He kept stretching out. It played havoc on his wardrobe, though thankfully some things could be resized by magic at least.
As casual as Mo's motion was, West caught it. He eyed Mo and then pushed off the wall and shoved his hand in his mate's pocket, extracted said badge, and slapped it back on Mo's chest again, careful with the pin. "At least be proud of it." He said, with quiet intensity, looking straight into Mo's eyes with an almost painful frankness. He held the look for a moment then headed up the corridor.
"C'mon, lets find that trolley."

So this was it. His very last year at Hogwarts. Summer had gone by so fast, Nashville couldn't believe it was already over and his intern was over as well. The seventeen year old Brazilian had loads of fun at his internship at Qudditch Quality Supplies, Quidditch was his life, besides baking pies of course.
Nashville carried his two trunks in his left arm, his backpack on his back and he had a miniature apple pie in his right hand. Breakfast of champions. No one hated pie! That was a fact. Pie is good for the soul.
HEY! LOOK! NEW POSSIBLE BADGERS!
The seventh year spotted some newbie Badgers not that far in head of himself. This was great. He loved new students, mostly new badgers and last term he was a new badger himself but these are very knew to the magical learning world. "Ello, you two need any help?" His Brazilian accent was a bit thick but you were able to understand what he was saying.

I'm Jessie by the way, and this is Elizabeth" She waved, indicating Elizabeth. Where had all this confidence come from? Jessie was shocked by her sudden confidence to speak to strangers, but they were so nice! "O, wonder! How many goodly creatures are there here!" Jessie blushed as she realised, yet again, that her Shakespearean vocabulary was taking over. That is not the way to talk! But it was all she had ever known...Living alone with her father, and not having met another person in her life until today, Jessie was excited, nervous and scared. She really wasn't sure how to proceed now though.
Elizabeth thinks to herself, as she hears a foreign accent directed towards them /He seems nice, bothering to come and say hello "Hi.. I'm Elizabeth, but really I answer to absolutely anything! You look very knowledgeable..? I'm guessing this isn't your first trip on the train? I love trains.. Sorry I'm odd, I come out with very random things... Just thought I'd warn you!"
She looks up at him, then quickly to the floor.. Oh my god, I hope they dont all think I'm too weird.. I should not have said that..... Looks back up at them both, smiling her well known massive happy smile.. (Truly the biggest they'll have ever seen!)
Nope.
The tooaaad.
Abbi was looking at it with major curiosity, but as for Whiskers he seemed to be hissing and rather loudly too. The eleven year old petted her cat and hoped he would eventually stop. His hissing needed to be saved for when monsters were around, which technically according to Abbi there were monsters around, but you know not witch monsters.
She didn't know if her own pet was a prince? What a tragedy! Really! She could have been a princes ages ago. Poor girl! "I'd find out. Don't you want to be a princess?" Was that even a valid question? Because WHO didn't want to be a princess?
As for the question Abbi knew the answer. She was a PRO at this fairytale stuff just like she was with fairies. "You have to kiss him! Duh!"Come on kissy kissy even with all the cooties.

She made her way down the corridor, trying to look like she knew what she was doing and had some set place to go. Along the way, she passed some guy leaning up against the wall. He was meditating...or something, so Sophie just edged on by.
Now, where was that brother of hers?
Sophie lost all thought of meditating older kids, when she walked a few more feet down the corridor and saw her brother just ahead. She smirked to herself and hurried to the back of him. "Caleb!" she suddenly said, knowing full well she might startle him. "There's a snack cart here! ...and some older kid was meditating in the hallway. Weird, huh?" She looked around. "Where are you sitting?"
Yup--a million and one thoughts spilling out her mouth in record speed.
Suddenly Caleb heard a familiar voice, and he turned with a grin to see his sister. "Hey Sophie!" he called, happy to see a familiar face. "Mediating? Like that chanting stuff that monks do?" he asked, wrinkling his eyebrows. That was weird.
Oh well. it was probably going to get even WEIRDER from here on out, according to their parents.
"Um, I dunno, I haven't decided yet," he said, biting his lip and looking around at all the compartments.

"Um, I dunno, I haven't decided yet," he said, biting his lip and looking around at all the compartments.
"Meditating," she said, without missing a beat, "and what's a monk?" She shrugged it off, though, because apparently neither one of them had found a seat. "There's seats everywhere. Let's just pick one and sit down. It's not like anybody owns the compartments." She paused in the corridor and eyed her surroundings, looking for a somewhat empty compartment. It didn't matter if there were others inside, but she didn't want to be stuffed in like a sardine either.
"So who's watching us anyway? The professors are all at the school, and from what I've seen, the prefects have a compartment all to themselves," she went on. "They're probably kicked back inside of it not paying any attention to what we do." She flicked out her wand and pretended to cast a spell. "I could hex you, and nobody would ever know."
Blair was not usually a crier but saying goodbye to her parents on the platform was harder than she had expected. Come on Blair, pull yourself together, she thought. She sniffed, quickly wiped her eyes and then started to make her way down the corridor.
The corridor was packed with students, Blair struggled to make her way through. She thought she should probably find a compartment to sit in rather than remain in the corridor but it looked as though they were filling up pretty fast. As she did not know anyone she didn't exactly just want to walk into one of the compartments. Where should I go? she thought.

"Gotta stop growing, mate," Mo grinned as he plucked at West's sleeve. For all that Mo felt he'd grown a bit over the summer, it wasn't ever anything compared to the growing that West managed. Quidditch made Mo a bit broader through the shoulders, but he was at least fitting into his old t-shirts and robes... even if he'd insisted his mum buy him new things for school regardless. West just NEEDED the new clothes with no begging required, it seemed.
Mo followed West down the corridor without comment on the direction. He'd come from the other way and had encountered no trolley so far, so this seemed reasonable. "I'm proud of it. I just don't feel the need to..." To flaunt it, he was going to say, but that sounded so patronizing and insensitive that he would have shoved himself against a wall if he was West. He was proud, though... and he wanted so badly for West to be proud too. Of him.
"Dora and Ves were looking for you earlier. You should swing by the Ravenclaw table for a while during the feast."
Shoes? Cute shoes? Someone had complimented her on her shoes? Mika’s face erupted into a giant smile as she glanced up at a very kind looking blond girl. Glancing at Claudette she smiled brightly.
”Oh thanks so much I like yours as well” she was beaming now, really honestly beaming because how could you not beam when someone complimented you. ”I’ve not seen you around before are you new? Oh, right um I’m Amelia Johanson everyone calls me Mika well, almost everyone. Ravenclaw fifth year.” she smiled brightly.
Glancing down at the luggage she just beamed. Ideas. ”Err…so, um you need help finding the luggage compartment?” she asked smiling brightly as they were close to the front of the train it would be rather easy.
Mika turned her attention to another blonde who turned to talk to her and just smiled. Minerva. It was good to see her, better than good really it was just great to see her. When she mentioned Kaiden the first thing that Mika did was glance down at the ground awkwardly.
"We...we um...we well, things...I haven't spoken to him all summer really? We kind of broke up he took what I was saying the wrong way huge mess...and no, actually haven't met yet, just introducing eachother over 'cute shoes'" she said with a smile. "I well, I saw him at the platform so he's here and alive which he never even told me." She glowered at the ground below her feet before forcing herself to smile at Minerva.
"How are you? How was the trip to America?" She asked brightly. Subject change anyone?
