A very violent magical plant that has been on the grounds of Hogwarts since 1971. Anyone or anything that comes within range of its branches will get attacked so it’s best to keep a safe distance. The Groundskeeper is not responsible for any “injuries out of stupidity” |

Stupid stupid stupid. Derry had a bit of a chip on her shoulder about that. Especially when it came to muggle stuff. Because of reasons. "Yeah, flu sucks." Derry nodded in agreement. "I've never even been abroad before!" "I just study until I can't study anymore and hope for the best." Usually her best wasn't that horrible. In most subjects. There were a couple that she would just rather not touch. "Exactly." Baking or cooking. Now she would ace a test on that.
Giggle. "Maybe a Puff or two." Because they were fast. And Adelaide was starting to not feel so guilty about those sorts of things. She had no doubt in her team's ability, but it would be nice to have the upper hand.
Adelaide couldn't help but grin like an idiot when she saw how excited Derry was. She was excited too because yeah. Her best friend was happy. Very happy. Giggles. "Yes. His face is definitely a nice one." She approved of it greatly. Mouth drop. "No you did not. And that sounds like so much fun!" Because yes. Lots and lots of fun.

"But studying is just so boring..." Derry said, wriggling her fingers a bit. "I just can never be bothered sitting down and studying and reading and writing and... meh." She gave a little shrug. "I like reading and writing about stuff I enjoy... but if I'm not totally interested my brain just kinda... drifts off..." Queue wriggly hands to demonstrate a point.
Hahah. "Yes! Their seeker... would be nice... just... y'know..." she let out a sheepish smile. "Oh, unless it's Toby... he's my favourite." Yep. She couldn't even remember who was seekering lately... sigh. She really shouldn't have even been given that captain badge in the first place, it was a good thing West had it now. Even if he had jetted off to Armenia.
Yes. Nice face. Derry's favourite face, in fact. It could do silly things and still look good. Which was not only unfair, but also very aesthetically pleasing yep. ... Gosh she sounded so shallow.. she really wasn't. Was she? No. She liked Józsua for other reasons too. "I know! I don't even know anything about Hungary though... I have no idea what it's like." But she supposed she'd learn... right? Right. "Not that it matters..." she said, smiling softly. GAAAH she was excited about pretty much everything that wasn't studying right now and this wasn't really helping. Hehehehe.

That's the only way she ever got through muggle school. She keep herself happy and content with her knowledge. She let out a slight giggle. "I understand completely. Oreo and baking are very distracting things." Her cat loved to jump on top of whatever book she was reading. Maybe she should take that as a sign.
Addi nodded in agreeance. "I mean, I would probably feel awful if anyone got sick, but it would still be a nice little change to their roster." Because their roster was fast and amazing. And needless to say, she was really nervous for their next match.
She couldn't help but smile. She was sooo happy for her best friend. Sooooooooo happy. "Me neither. But that makes it seem like it would be a lot more fun." Because then he could show her around and explore and just yeah. Fun.

Star gazing.
Ella had a bit of time before she needed to be inside and so she settled down by the willow, a small smile playing on her lips. She loved it out here for reasons having nothing to do with the tree and everything to do with a certain hair ruffler. This was there spot, yeah? And one she'd missed when she was done with Hogwarts. She totally planned on enjoying it while she could.
After setting up her materials and flipping her text book open for reference purposes, the blonde began her search. Certainly on such a clear night there would be plenty of stars to spot and record. Scan. Scan. Scannnnn.
OH.
OH! "Sirius." Brightest star in the sky, right? Or something like that. Ella smiled a little to herself and made some notes on the discovery before taking some time just to enjoy the view. This was a good find.

Adi set up his telescope for what seemed like the millionth time. He had to say, Professor Airey had come up with a fun and great idea. He loved this hunt thought setting up his scope was getting tiring.
Anyway, he began to scan the pretty night sky as he occasionally checked his star chart. "Oh! There you are, Sirius!'' Grin.

Sophie paused in the middle of the grounds and looked around. She was still on the hunt for the planets, stars, and constellations Flamsteed had them searching for. Where had she not looked yet? Or, better yet, where had she not been in a while? At this point, she felt like she'd been everywhere.
That's when her eyes fell upon a tree in the distance. It wasn't just any tree. It was the Whomping Willow. Sophie really had no desire to go near a tree that would whomp her, but if she stood within a reasonable distance from it, she should be good.
She walked closer then stopped when she thought it was safe. She set up her telescope and began searching the skies. She tilted the telescope and zoomed in and out, and a short time later, she'd found Sirius. Ha. Like Sirius Black. Yup. She marked down the finding, collected her things, then moved on.

Due to the steady decline of her mood during the course of this assignment, one would have probably assumed Alice would have grumped her way to the Whomping Willow. Which would have proved true if not for what she hoped to see there. The brightest star in the sky wasn't something to grouch about, and the sixth year felt kind of eager to find this one. Sirius. It'd be easy, right?
Canis Major was a favorite of hers, and it wasn't too difficult for her to locate it on a day this clear. Peeking through the lens of her telescope, Alice found the greater dog in no time, and sure enough, Sirius was right there in the constellation. A few glances to her star chart just to reassure herself that she wasn't mistaking it for another star, and then she was packing up her things again.
It really was a pretty star.

Stargazing near the Whomping Willow was a tricky endeavor - Mo needed to find a spot to find Sirius without taking a branch to the head. He was careful to skirt the reach of those branches as he looked for a clear spot in the foliage above. Sirius was the brightest star in the sky, so it should be pretty easy to spot, especially since it was just down from Orion and his notable belt.
Finally, Mo found a spot and settled on the ground, his telescope trained on the brightest part of the Canis Major constellation. Sirius was the dog star, right? And in the Greater Dog constellation? Maybe Mo should howl at the star, in its honor.
No one else would know, right? He howled before tucking the telescope back into his sling and slinking away.

Kat made her way to the Whomping Willow now. Well, not really to the Whomping Willow. It would probably kill her if she tried taking a step near it. She could dodge a branch and all, but not for too long. Would've been easier with a broom and all. Too bad she didn't have one right now. Her broom was in her dormitory. Besides, the Willow might break hers into million pieces if she even dared.
Anyway, Astronomy project stuff. Once Kat was not too near and not too far from the Willow, she set up her telescope. And yeah, she still had her blanket wrapped around her for warmth reasons. It was too bloody cold.
OKAY WHOA. That was a bright star. Kat peeked through the eyepiece and then checked her star chart... then back to the telescope. Yes. She had located Sirius. Like the Azkaban prisoner, you know? Although he seemed quite innocent but Kat didn't really care.
She located Sirius though and that was another star off the list. Heck, yeah!

Sarah was too cautious to go the whomping willow for fun. She did not want to get hurt.. but this was for the greater good. She had to try out her telescope here to see if she could find something on her list here.
She made sure that she kept her distance from the tree and she aimed her telescope upwards. She also had to make sure that there were no branches blocking her path. She would not see them as it was dark, but it did seem like she had a clear view of the sky..
Wait.. is that sirius? She found one of the things then! She marked it down

Sirius Black.... Nerida chuckled as she walked down to the Whomping Willow. She had to look for the Sirius constellation and she just chuckled as she thought of the man. Sirius. The man and the constellation. The dog!!! Setting her constellation down as she reached the Whomping Willow.
She quickly set it up and started scanning the sky for the dog. She quickly found it the whole time thinking of Sirius Black, Sirius the dog, and Sirius constellation.
