"It's your dad's name. Charely Potter, right? Well I assumed your dad with the name and I thought it sounded familiar from when you said it before.." Was she right.. She hoped she was. She glanced at her own mothers name again, "That's her.. my mom" Did she tell Wade she had found this last term. She couldn't remember.
Her blue eyes looked up at him and she gave a small smile. He was always so worried about her. She had some great friends around here and lately she really realized how great they were. "I'm good Kitty.. I promise." She sighed a bit before looking back up, "Yes dad.. I feel good today.. " She chuckled jokingly. "So what brings you here?" and where was Indy she wondered.
Wade's smile turned softly, "Sorry, did I scare you?" His brows rose as she beckoned him closer. He wondered what she was going to show him as he approached.. and saw what she was pointing out. His hand reached out touching the glass that was protecting the plaque, before nodding. "Yeah, you're right.. that's him." Blinking curiously as she pointed out her mother's name, Vicky Blazes. "Wow.." He stared at it for a moment, "It's amazing how close our parents were." It really was something on how their pasts and lives were connected. He had an urge to see if his mother was listed. He knew she was active in the writing club with his dad.
He had the urge to ask if Min was sure on how she felt, but laughing a little instead when she called him dad. "I'm glad to hear that," So what brought him here? "Ah.. Indy said I was distracting her from her NEWT studying, so I went for a walk and just happened to see you in here." His grin turned sheepish at that.

Minerva chuckled, "No.. no it's fine.. I was just lost in thoughts, but I feel like I always am anymore." It really felt like the last few weeks had been a blur. Studying falling behind she knew she had to pick up the pace again. "You feel ready for our part of the competition?" She was super nervous especially with not knowing the animal to be used. Hopefully nothing to dangerous. That freaked her out a bit, but she had all faith in Wade. He wouldn't put her in harms way and she wouldn't let him get hurt either. They were the perfect pair to work together. Still holding onto his arm she smiled as he confirmed it was his dad. She bit her lip looking at it longer before looking up at him, "Yeah I know. They had to have known each other. Did you ever ask your dad?" So much had happened last term they never really talked about it again after he said he was going to ask.
Min glanced back at the trophies before sighing, "You know how it's been. It comes and goes. So right now I'm good." He had been with her through everything lately she wondered if he knew how much she appreciated their friendship. "I like to come in here and look at her name, it's the closest place in the castle other than year books that I can find her. A connection I didn't even know we had." He understood that though, he knew about her mom never speaking of being a witch.
Laughing she could remember a few times she was the distraction from someones studies, not that she wanted to be the distraction from his studies she was last term, but he still had done well. "It's not a bad thing to be that distraction once in awhile. E never seemed to mind to much." She chuckled thinking about it. "How's your studying going? You have NEWTs too." They all did it seemed and coming quicker and quicker.

Sure, Min may be fine now. But Wade of course couldn't help but feel a little bit guilty on that little shock, she definitely needed less stress what with NEWTs, prefecting duties, oh and of course that upcoming competition that she just mention. "Somewhat.. I sort of wish ours wasn't the very last." Talk about the amount of pressure in sealing their school's victory, "But I think we'll be good. I've made sure to read through all my books.. How about you?" Min was smart, Wade was sure she wouldn't need to look over much if any at all before it began.
Wade smiled while staring at his dad's name on the plaque just as Min was holding on to his arm. No way.. There was no way that Kitty and Mouse duo to have formed after their parents own time at the school was just a mere coincidence. "Oh.. yeah, I didn't get to tell you." So much had happened last year that got revealing this to be pushed. Wade looked back down at Min as he started, "They were classmates in the same year. She.. your mum." He smiled a a little sad as he spoke, "She was the one who introduced my mum to my dad." He could feel his stomach lifting at that. It was so much to think that if it weren't for her.. It was sad to Wade hearing on how the closest links to her family were not going to be as accessible for long. He blinked. "My dad's suppose to come watch us at the quiz bowl. He never knew she had a daughter.. and he had only known you as my best friend." Least by the letters he's written to his dad. "I'm sure he wouldn't mind telling you more about her afterward." All those wonderful things.
Wade could only smile. Given the recent circumstances between the two, he was sure Ethan did not mind any of her distractions. Now how was his NEWT studying? "Well, I'm sure to get a least an 'O' this time in with the amount of times I've reread the Monster book of Monsters." Adding in, "I haven't been able to give out more onesies lately." Which he knew he would have to take care of right away. "How's your studying going?"

Minerva crinkled her nose, “I know.. I hate it being last. I mean I have to sit there all day feeling sick with nerves and it’s not like I’ve been sick enough lately, but let’s add being super nervous for the entire day onto it. “ She shook her head knowing she was already feeling anxious enough for the task to happen. What would they be doing, how dangerous, what kind of animal. These questions went over and over in her head. “I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in this. I think you and I will make a great team.” They were best friends and seemed to be even closer this year than last. They had gotten so good at reading each other she had no doubt that they would work well together. “I was studying every transfiguration book I could find up until a few weeks ago, but don’t worry. I’m focusing again. It’s my best subject so I’m not too worried.” She gave him a reassuring smile.
She was looking at the plaques as he spoke, but nothing… nothing could have prepared her for his words. Her blue eyes jumped up to his face. She blinked back at the names and then back to him. Did she hear him right. A state of shock washed over her as it processed and sunk in. “Your parents met because of my mom?” She felt the emotions build up knowing this was the link she needed for the wizarding world. She knew nothing of her mother at school and Wade’s dad.. Wade’s dad was her friend. Possibly really close friend. “Wow” She felt the tears fall, “They were friends? Like us? Possibly best friends too?” Her head was spinning with this information and all the questions. She shook her head, “No one would have. My parents met when she was 19, once they married my mom’s parents disowned her. My cousin liked to tell me when I was stuck there that her parents told everyone she died when she was 20, but of course she didn’t or I wouldn’t be here right now.” Awful people she couldn’t understand how parents could be so horrible to their own child. Frowning she trid to push that thought out of her mind. She looked back at Wade and wiped her eyes, “He’s coming? Do you think he’d mind telling me some stories. I mean.. he knows things about her here.. Maybe what classes she was good at, what she was like at school.” All the unanswered questions that always bothered her could be answered. She felt an excitement thinking about it.
Minerva couldn’t help but chuckle about his NEWTs “Yeah I might just crawl in a hole of embarrassment if I don’t get an O in transfiguration after all this studying. She shrugged, “It’s kind of just stopped lately. I can’t get focused on it, but I’ll push more once this competition is over.” Other things were starting to settle down as well, so she could get her focus on studying again. Min chuckled, “You and that knitting, I don’t know why it’s so funny to me.” It was cute, but funny in her eyes. “Hey Wade..” she got a sheepish smile to her. “I know a onesie you could do.” she softly chuckled thinking about her Minnie Onesie he had gotten her last term. She hadn’t wore it in awhile. She would have to change that soon. It was comfy.

"Seriously.." Wade couldn't help but agree. These two along with every other badgers had a lot of to deal with lately. "It's a good thing we have Quidditch that helps deal with our nerves." In theory at least. "Well, I at least know I'm paired with the best with spells in our year." They really were the Kitty and Mouse duo, as he heard her say such sweet things about it. "You bet we will." Wade beamed. He knew all along he could count on her.
..Guess Wade should've expected such a reaction. He himself could only remember thinking of that tiny hope he carried for so long on his own mother being found alive after all, even if all evidence against it shattered it. "Yeah.. she knew my mum first and eventually they would eat all together and hang out." He blinked thinking over this past year as she asked him if they were like them. Furrowing his brows before answering, "You know.. it's almost like how you, me and Indy have been this year." Wade looked at Min as if seeing her for the very first time before hearing how her mother's life came to be. He frowned a little, seeing someone cry always made him feel bad. So he gave her one of his nice big old badger hugs to help. "How horrible.." It really was not fair how their parent's life after graduating was. Wade himself had just recently began to see his father truly happy for the first time in a long time now with his current girlfriend.
"Yeah, my dad's been making some extra time to see us before we graduate." He tried not to frown at that part, it helped though hearing how excited Min seem to be now. "Oh, it'll be fine don't worry. I told him a lot about you and how you've been such a good friend to me." Plus, if his dad said anything about classes he forgot about them already. It was going to be a cruel awakening for NEWTs. "It would be kind of funny if we got O's in the opposite subject we were picked for." He grinned at the thought. Sure, he did well with Transfiguration, but compared to Min? Heh. Even if they didn't have focus issues, "Well, a lot has been going on lately.. I'm still missing my pickles." Elves didn't know, and his pickle dealing Nash had not been himself lately to help out. Oh well, it also prevented his knitting from going on as usual. He smirked as Min was giggling over it. "Well, it is a galleon saver." From what he remembered, some people this year needed the onesie. His hair-ruffling senses said so, "and I know just the perfect ones to make." Yeah, his onesie making was getting back on.

Minerva smiled she was glad Wade felt the same way, at least she wasn’t the only one feeling like it was going to be a long day, but then she frowned and looked away. Quidditch… Yeah he knew she had to quit that, right? “Yeah it’s a good thing you have that last match to play and all. You can focus on that.” She let her eyes focus on the trophies as she felt them become wet, but desperately trying not to start crying. Blinking back as much as she could she smiled at his comment, “Thanks Kitty, that means a lot. I don’t think I’m the best in our year though.” No she couldn’t be the best in the year, but she would give it her best. “I won’t let you down. I promise” She looked up giving him a small smile.
The emotions Min felt with this news as he kept talking. She turned and gave him a smile “Well that’s sweet. Sounds like my mom really. If she thought they had any chance she would have went for it. She loved seeing people happy.” Not too far off from herself. As she wrapped her arms around him in the hug he gave her she wiped the tears, “It sounds like it. A great friendship. I’m glad she had amazing friends like I do.” If Wade’s dad was anything like Wade than she knew her mom lucked out with friends. She gave him a small smile and shook her head, “No not horrible really. I think she was better off maybe.” She shrugged she didn’t really know. “They have a family business I know that much. When I had to live with my two cousins right after they died I learned about the business. I think mom wasn’t like any of them. I still don’t know why she gave up this world, but I think she was happy.. I hope she was at least.” That always came to Min’s mind, but nothing she could really figure out so she pushed it away.
Graduating Min let this word play in her head. She had been hearing it so much lately and the nearer it got the more anxious she was getting. Fear of it all was taking over in her. “Wade…” she glanced at him, but then back to the trophies, “What are you doing after here? I mean I know you said Quidditch at one point, but is it still that? I.. think it’s great if it is, I.. I guess I’m just going to..” She bit her lip, why was the emotions coming back again. Gah go away please, “I’m just going to miss this is all. Being able just to hang out when we want and have fun, it’s going to be so different soon.” That was an understatement.
She gave a small chuckle, “Yeah it really would be funny, but let’s hope we do well on all of them not just our competition ones.” Even though she was taking some time off of school once she was done, didn’t mean she didn’t want good scores. Cringing at the word she shook her head, “Why don’t you have your dad just owl you some.” Not that she minded not having the smell around lately. She couldn’t help but nudge him a bit, “I figured you would and hey.. Thanks.. for everything.” He had been a life saver this term and more so recently, she really wasn’t sure what she would have done a few times without her co puff leader around.

Hmm.. the last match. Wade's brows furrowed as he frowned a little. "Oh.. yeah.. that's true.." He knew Min had decided to relinquish her bat early.. and unfortunately he had to do the same for now. "I just can't believe it's really coming to end for us at this school.." He didn't know how it must have felt for Min, her being here since her first year, but with Wade only joining in his fifth.. It was like he wanted more to do here, but time was running out. He smiled though as Min's modesty, they had come such a long way together, "Don't be silly, Mousie.. you are and always will be." He liked that she always looked out for her friends and their concerns "I knew I can always count on you."
Wade couldn't stop smiling, listening as talked about her mum, she sounded like his mum too. It was no wonder they became good friends. He blinked as she said he was amazing. "You.. really think that?" Sure, he heard a few times that he was great, but amazing.. It touched him. Was this really how his dad felt when with his friends too? He couldn't imagine how his own dad had felt after hearing one his closest friends died. He tilted his head thinking as he heard Min wonder if her mum was truly happy, despite leaving the wizarding world. "Well.. our world does have it's share of bad folks." He frowned a little thinking of his grandfather that he never got to meet, but heard had been killed while his dad was working with him. "I'm sure she was happy where she was at, especially after having you."
He should've expected this, with where their conversation was going from the beginning. The days were literally counting down until Graduation. Their graduation. His, Min, Indy, Nash, Tay, Ariana, Jake, and so many others he had grown up with. Wade knew Min would have her hands full juggling so many responsibilities with caring, studying, and so much more with her Ethan's help. As for him, "Well, I had talked with Professor Tyner and Hadley over it. I do want to play Professional Quidditch.. but I always loved Hippogriffs, and Wizarding University will let me do both until then. So I'll be going there after graduating." So he finally laid it out, "I'll be learning even more about hippogriffs and working with them before I can own a few with Indy." He furrowed his brows a little, they were still talking about which campus to go to and he had a feeling residing so far away wouldn't be a good idea.. and this was why. He's brows turned upward as he saw Min's reaction, "I'm going to miss Hogwarts too.. but we'll still have Diagon Alley and the summers and breaks." The little bright side. Wade was not going to be leaving London forever, that's for sure. He had his dad, his little sisters, and everything to look out for.
Wade grinned, nodding as he agreed with their NEWTS. "Totally.. I definitely want more than eight this time." Now why not ask his dad for the pickles? "Ah, he has a lot to deal with right now. His work, and my upcoming sisters.. I don't want to bother him over it since I'm doing okay without them." Just about okay, until Nash was cool again. Heh. Wade smiled, there were some things that just did not need to be said, "I know, Mousie.. and thank you for everything too." Why not, he gave her another one of his big old badger hugs.

Minerva kept her eyes on the class case as she leaned against kitty a bit. “Yeah, it’s pretty much here isn’t it. Just a few more weeks really.” NEWTs were right around the corner too and Min really really needed to start studying for them. This month or so break from studying wasn’t helping her chances at doing well. She couldn’t help but smile up at him when he called her mousie, she enjoyed the nickname really. Kaiden had started it during that horrible crazy part of last term, or she at least thought he did. She couldn’t’ remember anymore, but she liked it at least. “Well you just keep that confidence in me, maybe if one of us have it I’ll get through the rest of this term and NEWTs.” Confidence was something she really didn’t have much of.
Tilting her head she looked at him puzzled, “Do I really think what? That you are amazing? Of course I do. Wade you are brilliant at Quidditch, you have the biggest heart I have ever seen. You are always putting everyone before yourself, you are a fantastic leader and head boy. There is no doubt in my mind that you aren’t amazing.” How could he even question that. She knew what she saw in him and she knew why she saw it. Sighing she shook her head, “Yeah and I think the Blazes are the cream of the crop when it comes to bad wizards.” At least they were in her eyes. She couldn’t help but blush a bit, he was always so sweet and she nudged him a bit, “Stop… but thanks.. I think she was happy too. There was no doubt she loved my dad and us. I hate that the three of them are gone, but I do like knowing they are most likely together.” She bite her lip at this thought and let her wet eyes go back to her mother’s name. “It’s just harder at times thinking about them. How much they have missed and will be missing.” She would give anything for them to be at the competition watching, but she had Ethan there and her friends, that would be enough supporting her.
Minerva smiled a bit sadly listening to him. So many new adventures waiting for them when they left this castle, but she wanted to cling to the things they had here at the same time. It would be so different. Now more Kitty and mouse team working together on being leaders or beater or anything. He would be in one place she’d be in the other. She hoped they would at least still stay close and talk regularly, maybe him and Indy coming over and visiting when they could and her and Ethan meeting up with them closer to whichever Uni they went to. “Well that sounds fun. I bet you will be great with Hippogriffs. Such an animals lover aren’t you.” There was no wonder he was picked for the creatures task . “yeah.. we will, but it just isn’t the same ya know?” She was happy and excited for everyone and their future plans, but she was scared to death of her own at the same time.
She couldn’t help but shrug, “I’ll be lucky to get any with the lack of studying I’ve been doing. All focus has left me lately.” Well other than transfiguration, but still she needed to get back to the books. “Want to study together a bit?” Maybe that could help if they worked on a few subjects together. “I could ask Ethan to send some if you are really missing them.” She couldn’t help but chuckle, “He might think they are for me and give me looks through the mirror, but he would send them.” She knew he would if she asked. He was always asking if there was anything he could send her. He gave her another hug and she gave a small smile hugging him back. “I’m really glad I didn’t hold that hitting my boyfriend with a bludger thing over your head for to long.” She chuckled as she stayed leaning on him a bit. “I couldn’t have seen last term or this term without my kitty best friend.” Nope not at all, Wade was one of the besties that would be around for a long time. Min felt super lucky some people got one best friend she at least had three that she knew she could count on no matter what.
