Directly below the Great Hall is the Hogwarts kitchen, complete with five tables identical to and directly below those of the Great Hall. Numerous house elves have returned and are busily working, always working, on the castle's next meal. They're surely willing to serve you a snack though, if you ask politely enough.
OOC: Please do not RP for the House Elves! We have a lovely group of actual elves who would love to RP with you if you will please be patient.
Alexa would have grinned at Michael but see, her mouth was full of whipped cream and the moment she'd emptied it, she squirted herself some more. Why hadn't they thought of this sooner? Granted, Lottie would probably scowl if she saw her right now...but she would just skip the post-dinner candy later on. That kind of evened it out...?
Right, back the to chocolate frog making.
Lex moved everything over to the counter that Mikey had the ingredients he had found on it. This way they could better keep track of everything. "I can't shake the feeling we're forgetting something but I guess we'll just figure it out as we go along." She began counting off everything again, just in case it would jog her memory but that didn't seem to be working.
As for the question of the stove...."Can we use incendio?"....Wasn't that how people made fire happen? It just got her wondering. Muggles couldn't use magic. How did they get fire to happen? How did she explain to him that she was completely lost where the kitchen was concerned. She could help you eat your food but producing it in the first place would prove difficult.
"You said we're using both types of chocolate, yes?"
Mikey was pretty sure that they had forgotten quite a few ingredients. But when he had suggested they make chocolate frogs, he never actually expected them to make anything edible. It was all about being able to spend time with Alexa. "Isn't that the best way to do things?" Jump in head first and hope for the best.
Somehow he just knew that she was going to ask that. He didn't mind if they used magic because he was always eager to practice but he still didn't really know a lot. "We can." he said slowly, "But you will probably have to do it. I mean I know how to do the spell, but I don't know how to control the temperature just yet." And he really hoped that she did otherwise they were going to end up with burnt chocolate.
He hopped up onto the stool and pulled down one of the pots that were hanging on a hook and placed it onto the bench. "Yes. It should give it extra flavour." He had no idea if that was true or not but it sounded good. "I'll stir the chocolate while tend to the flame. It was all about teamwork.

There it was again. One of the reasons she liked Michael Toussaint. He was SUCH a Gryffindor in the way he saw most things. She first noticed it with his entrance to the Gryffie table in his first term and now even with this. They were going to wing it and their chocolate frogs would be the second best she'd ever tasted. Let's face it, NOTHING beat factory made, professional charm added chocolate frogs. Those were sold world wide for obvious reasons.
Of course she perfectly understood his concern where the fire and the temperature were concerned. No need to have a big flame to light a simple stove. Lex made her way over and got it nicely lit. "All yours." She said with a grin, stepping aside so he could put the pot of chocolate onto the fire and get this melting thing underway. "I don't think I have to watch it, it does that on its own. I'll get the moulds clean while we wait to pour it in." That would classify as being useful, yes?
Lex walked back to the counter and picked up the first one. "Scourgify!" A basic cleaning charm would do the spell. No way she was manually getting them cleaned.
"If these turn out good we could totally start our own business." She joked while examining another mould. "The Headmistress would gobble them without a thought for sure. She's addicted to the stuff."

Oh. He had apparently misunderstood her when she said that she wanted to use 'Incendio.' Michael had thought she wanted to melt the chocolate directly with the spell, but he realised just how stupid that would be and he mentally kicked himself for being an idiot. "Okay." He also realised that he had essentially given her the easy job as he dumped the chocolate into the pot and gave it a few pokes and prods to get it to melt.
He alternated between watching the chocolate and watching her and he wondered if she had a boyfriend? He had never seen her with one particular guy, so he assumed that she didn't. The thought cheered him somewhat and he went back to stirring the chocolate.
Michael chuckled softly to himself when she mentioned going into business together because he had just been thinking the same thing. "Sounds like someone else I know." he said with a grin as he looked over to her. "You're not related to her in some way are you?" Hehe. That would be funny.
Giving the chocolate another couple of stirs, he took the pot of the stove. "It's ready." Well it was melted anyway.

She was inspecting each mould and getting them cleaned as best she could. The spell was doing all the work but technically this wrist flicking wasn't as easy as it looked. There was a technique. Not a very hard one but shhhhh. While she cleaned she noticed him looking over at her. Lex tilted her head. "Something wrong?" Nothing they couldn't fix yes? Something on the mould she was holding maybe? Just in case she looked at it. Seeeeemed normal to her.
Admittedly, she had a feeling she knew who he was referring to and it made her grin. "Does it? That person already sounds awesome in my book." As for the relation to the Headmistress...weeeeeeell. "We're like BFFs! Totally. Spent an evening together once, us and our felines. Bonded over chocolate too. She's super nice, even if she pretends not to be." Says the oblivious Gryffindor who didn't notice the pained looks the Headmistress had the entire time. Sigh.
Her face lit up the moment he said it was done! "Woot!!" She dropped the last of the moulds on the counter and went to have a look. "I was thinking we could add some sprinkles before pouring it into the mould--the nuts too then you can stir it if you want." She didn't mind so long as they were mixed in.
She was getting even MOAR excited now.

Entering the kitchen, she knew it was late but she was hungry! Okay she'd decided to go outside and play in the snow rather than go to dinner but the snow was so fluffy and cold. PLUS it was really fun to hide and completely cover Dan in snow when she had seen him coming! Shivering slightly she rubbed her hands together and after tickling the pear walked into the kitchens. The last time she'd been in there there hadn't been any house elves. But she knew they were back and hoped maybe, one of them would help her. If not...she'd just make a sandwich or something.

It probably wasn't a good habit that Tessa had formed at home when she would sneak into the kitchen and eat whatever sweets there were in the evening after her parents went to bed...but Tessa had a major sweet tooth. Tonight she was hungry for cupcakes, and as hard as she tried to keep those delicious things with sprinkles on top out of her head as she studied into the evening, she just couldn't. It was nearly impossible!
Tessa knew all to well that she had to tickle the pear to make her enterance into the kitchens. "Cupcakes!" Tessa called out with a smile. "I wonder if I need to make some..." Tessa thought out loud. She had her mother send her favorite cupcake and cookie recipes with the last care package and promised that she wasn't eating nothing but sweets while she was at school. Maybe cookies would be good too?
Oh, someone to help bake!"Hello." Tessa greeted. "I'm going to make cupcakes. Want to help?" She asked the girl. Tessa might even let her take a few cupcakes back to her common room if she was feeling generous at the end of the process. Cupcakes were Tessa's favorite.

Cupcakes? She turned around when she heard someone call out behind her, she was digging in the fridge for sandwich stuff now and had her hands on some cheese and sliced ham. "I'll help make some!" she exclaimed. But...first sandwich. Yes, sandwiches would help her think more clearly and she probably wouldn't be wanting to taste the cake mix that they would be mixing, just because she was hungry. She could make a quick sandwich and help at the same time. Right?
"What kind of cupcakes should we make?" she asked brightly setting her food stuffs on the worktop. "I'm Zoe by the way "Zoe Tillstorm." Now for bread....and a plate.

Woohooooo! She'll help! "Well. I have a recipe here my mother sent me for strawberry cupcakes and cream cheese icing too!"Tessa explained as she dug out the folded piece of paper from her sweater's pocket. "It's one of my favorites. My mother only makes it though when we have lots of really fresh strawberries in the kitchen." It was one of many recipes for sweets she had. Her mother hadn't thought that Tessa, the princess of the family, would actually try making any of them let alone all of them.
A smile spread across Tessa's face. A new friend interested in cupcakes! "Hi Zoe. I'm Tessa A. Hart. Don't ask what the A. stands for because I won't tell you." She introduced herself before went to retrieve some bowls. "Do you know if there's any sprinkles down here?" Tessa suddenly asked, remembering that no cupcake was finished without sprinkles on top of it. She'd have to make sure to write home again and ask for lots of sprinkles for future cupcake making occasions.

Grabbing a plate she started making her sandwich and looked over at Tessa when she said she had a recipe that her mother had sent her. "Ohhh, yum!" she said with wide eyes and a grin. "I love cream cheese icing. It's so sweet!" "Hmm...I wonder if they have fresh strawberries...." she murmured going back to the fridge to check. Her sandwich was in her hand as she opened the refrigerator and peered inside.
"Oh, I don't blame you there. Some names can be just awful and they're abbreviated for a good reason." she said over her shoulder with a shrug. Hmm sprinkles? Getting hold of a bin of strawberries she nudged the door shut "Strawberries!" she said with a smile holding them up. "Sprinkles...I'm not sure on."
She was inspecting each mould and getting them cleaned as best she could. The spell was doing all the work but technically this wrist flicking wasn't as easy as it looked. There was a technique. What?
Michael started for a second at her question and then he felt his face grow a little red from being busted at staring at her. He really needed to learn at not being so obvious at his staring. "No..." It really wasn't much of an answer was it? "How come you like hanging out with me so much?" It wasn't what he had been wondering about a second ago but it was something he had thought about before. She was a popular girl with lots of friends and he was...well he was just a kid really.
He chuckled softly. She had quite ego, didn't she? "Yeah they are pretty awesome." He said that without thinking but he was tired of being embarrassed in front of her. Alexa Cambridge was awesome and he wanted her to know that's what he thought of her.
Alexa and the Headmistress were best friends? Michael raised his eyebrows as the girl went on about their time together and he had to stop himself from laughing out loud. He had a feeling that Lex was living in a dream world if she thought that Truebridge enjoyed her time with the Gryffindor. "Well then. She should definitely be our first customer since you two are such good friends." He didn't know whether he actually wanted to be there when the Headmistress tried them.
He decided not to tell her that you were supposed to add your fillings now. He would just pretend that it was her idea. "Good idea. Your pour them in while I stir the chocolate and then we can put the chocolate in the moulds together."
Ahhhh! Charlie! Tag was not prepared. The second she tossed the box to him a half scared half amused look spread over Tag's face and he fumbled with the box and barely caught it by his finger tips- the box nearly touching the floor. She was too quick for him. He went to find a cooking pan, put some water in it and waited for the water to boil. Step one done.
"Ohhh. Are we even gonna be in school if its not really Hogwarts?!" That actually sounded kind of fun. Not being at school. But Tag liked exploring the castle- so there was that. Ok. He wanted the castle but not the actual school part of Hogwarts. "So, are we even actual people?" All the questions Charlie. All the questions. "The questions of the universe. The world may never know."
"Yeah, good. I'll just cook the pasta." Tag said with a nod, as he watched little bubbles starting hitting the surface of the water. Boy, that was a long process. "What type of sauce? Though, I'm good with any type of sauce, to be honest."
Charlie giggled a little as Tag struggled to catch the box of pasta, clapping her hands over her mouth in amusement. "Sorry," she managed, between giggles escaping through her fingers.
But no harm done, right? And it had been funny. And Tag hadn't complained.
"Are we just figments of someones' imagination?" Charlie joined in with the largely unanswered questions of the universe with a laugh. "Or is this all a dream?" Would they ever know the answers to this? Probably not, and she was kind of glad. This whole 'do we exist' talk was actually kind of spooky. Shudder.
"How about ricotta and tomato?" They had all of the ingredients for that, she thought, pulling out a clove of garlic.

Eggs. Yeah. That's what she'd said before. Schuyler lifted an eyebrow over Olly's way. Crazy girl.
Oh..
Oh, wait. She had meant that she could cook eggs. As in she was answering Schuyler's question. But really, in all honesty, that WAS deceiving. Saying 'eggs' right after she'd been throwing out ingredients she needed to mix together. And so here came the deadpanned look from Schuyler. Oh really? She should have beaten the eggs first? "I'm gonna beat you up in a minute." This girl who had the audacity to now hand her a whisk! Now both eyebrows lifted evenly as she looked at the girl. "Fine." The corners of her mouth curled slightly. "I'll whisk it." ....
..Blink. After saying that aloud, she realized - and tried to ignore - how 'I'll whisk it' basically just sounded like 'I'll risk it' with a bad lisp. Whisk, risk, lisp...
She whisked away, though. As best she could. "What's next?" Beating, whisking, beating.
Olly's eyelashes turned to butterfly wings for a second or two when she was ridding them of the airborne flour. And then the strict, adult Olly comment. Let's just say that Schuyler ignored this.... for now. Instead she dumped some milk - her own random amount - into the bowl and whisked some more. Though that flour stunt that she had pulled on Olly did not fly without retaliation. She did expect this, however. So when Olly pressed her floured hands to her cheeks, Schuyler simply grinned against her palms and waited. It would accent the colander chef hat. Somehow.
She was going to beat her up? Olly just snickered at that comment, shaking her head with a grin on her lips. "Oh, not here. What would the house elves think." She put on a shocked look as she glanced around at said magical creatures surrounding them. Or well, they were actually sort of staying away from them as best as they could. Good, how considerate of them. Also none had asked them if they needed help. Good again. This was something Schuyler would have to do on her own.
Following Olly's orders of course.
Olly got rid of the flour on her lashes just in time to see that Schuyler was now just doing her own thing. So Olly simply went ahead and added the last ingredient, butter, to the mix. This was going to taste absolutely terrible afterwards. But you know, it really wasn't about the FOOD but rather about the process of MAKING food right now. They could just go ahead and steal some of the small tarts the house elves had left on one of the tables.
She probably didn't have the element of surprise on her side for her revenge but it didn't really matter. At least Schuyler hadn't ducked out of the way or anything. "You've been marked." By Olly Clarke. Enjoy. Grinning back at the other girl, Olly left her hands on Schuyler's cheeks a moment longer before leaning back again. Not before she had cleaned her hands on Schuyler's clothes however. She still looked way too clean anyway.
Right, the pancakes. "You're done." She said with a nod towards the bowl. Well, once she'd properly mixed everything that is.

More and more laughs. Not that Tag didn't mind. In fact he joined Charlie and started laughing with her, over some of his misfortune in his catch. He didn't care really, he obviously found it funny, so she could laugh all she wanted to. Tag found most things funny. "Don't be. It's okay, honestly." He said waving off her apology with another smile.
Were they even real people? That was the most important question of all the questions, Charlie. "Maybe we are a part of someone's imagination. I mean, how are we to know, yeah? Unless there's some secret laboratory where there are people testing us.... Actually, that's a really creepy thought." Being a part of someone's mind. They could be controlled. "It would be lame if it were a dream. Cause once the person wakes up we wouldn't be actual wizards and witches." Yeah, that would be lame. Tag liked being a wizard.
"Ricotta and tomatoes! That sounds perfect. I'll start slicing up the tomatoes?" He said. An with that he went in search of some tomatoes, a cutting board, and knife and began to slice up tomato bits.
Grabbing a plate she started making her sandwich and looked over at Tessa when she said she had a recipe that her mother had sent her. "Ohhh, yum!" she said with wide eyes and a grin. Unsure of how many bowls she actually needed to make the cupcakes, Tessa grabbed as many bowls that she could carry back to the worktop Zoe was making a sandwich at. "Oh good, someone understands." Tessa smiled. The eleven year old absolutely hated her middle name. "I just don't like how mine sounds with the rest of my name. It sounds way cooler to introduce myself with just the letter of it instead." Tessa rambled as she peered at the recipe.
"We can worry about the sprinkles later." Tessa decided finally. "I'll have my parents send us some for next time." She smiled, because she was going to make cupcakes all the time as long as everything goes well this time around. "I'll get the dry stuff if you get the wet stuff." Tessa turned to Zoe. "Is that alright?" She asked, cocking her head to the side. IT BETTER BE ALRIGHT BECAUSE TESSA LIKE CONTROLLING THE KITCHEN.
"What year are you?" Tessa asked suddenly. "I'm just a first year." She said with a sigh. She wished she was older so she wouldn't be so left out with the older students. "I'm ready to not be a little firstie anymore." She added on.

WOW! Lots of bowls! Heh, better to have too many than not enough. "Much more mysterious too! Having a letter in your name rather than a middle name. Makes it more proper and so much more mysterious." She loved mysteries! Hmm, speaking of mysteries, she needed to check if Mr. Kitridge got that book in yet....he said he'd make sure to send for it!
Nodding "Fair enough." Taking a bite of her sandwich she looked down at the recipe that Tessa had for strawberry cupcakes. "Okay...butter, eggs, milk...vanilla." Hmm vanilla... Heading for the cupboards she started searching through the spices. The others would be in the fridge, just needed to find...the... "AHA!" Taking the vanilla out she set it by the bowls and after taking another bite she headed for the fridge. She didn't often get to bake on her own, so she didn't mind her deciding who got which items.
"I'm a third year." she called over, as she got the milk and butter. A bit of a grin appeared at Tessa's words "Being a firstie wears off so fast. It gets tiring being called a baby, when you don't know half the spells and such you need for classes." UGH, she remembered that!

I'm going to write dad and tell him about how good our cupcakes are...and to tell him not to tell mom. She'll get mad if she knows I'm actually cooking them myself! Tessa thought in the process of retrieving the sugar, flour, baking powder and soda and the salt. What was the difference between flour and cupcake flour? Did they really need both of them? Heh. Good question. Need to ask mom about that sometime. I guess we can use both today...
"Oh yes, a bit of mystery never did anyone any harm." Tessa agreed nodding her head. Right. "Besides, why do we even have to have a middle name?" the Gryffindor asked shaking her head and sighing. She'd do anything to get rid of that middle name completely if it was up to her. Her parents insisted that she had to at least acknowledge that first letter though.
"You're almost half way, then. You know, to being done with Hogwarts." Tessa pointed out. Four more years and Zoe would be gone...off to the real magical world. NO MORE HOGWARTS. The thought terrified Tessa. "And then you'll have to find a job or something." What if she had to get a job? What if it was a job she didn't like? Good thing I still have six loooooonnnnnnngggg years ahead before that ever happens. Would it surprise her parents if she failed just to stay in Hogwarts longer? Probably not.

It really wasn't much of an answer was it?
Lex was willing to admit that the question Michael had just asked was a rather curious one. In fact it wasn't one she'd actually considered before so it took her some time of just staring at him before she finally gave a simple shrug. "I consider you a friend and I like hanging out with my friends. It's like, you have all this energy and I like that, it keeps people on their toes, not boring at all and you have a brain." The last part was super important.
Oh and you hear that? He agreed she was pretty awesome. Not a hard fact to admit, she tried living above the normalcy that was life whenever she could. It kept things interesting...for her at least.
"Nah, not the first customer or she'll eat it all before anyone else can have any...though she'd probably be willing to pay more for them." Last she checked, grown up Headmistresses got paid a whole lot more than parent dependent children shipped off to boarding school with little restraint in the spending department. But he was right, they WERE good friends, absolutely. She annoyed the woman sinfully and the woman in turn tried to get away from her as quickly as possible. It was all real legit.
Oh! Oh! Oh!!!! She had a GOOD idea about cooooking!! Eeep!! She wasn't completely lost to this thing!! "Sure! I can do that!" BEAM. Lex grabbed the nuts, sprinkles and little chocolate chips then made her way over to the pot. Sprinkle sprinkle sprinkle." Nothing to it at all.

______________________________I'm fired up and tired of the way that things are said.
Grinning as she said a mystery never did anyone any harm. "And it can be amusing watching them try to guess. The hard part is keeping a neutral face so as not to give it away if they guess correctly." Heh, she didn't much like her middle name either but she never had thought of using just the letter J either. "No idea, it'd make it so much easier to just not have one." she said pulling a face and taking another bite of her sandwich. Hmm....the milk sounded good. Going to the cupboard she got herself a glass and came back and poured milk for herself.
"Almost." she said nodding and pulled a face again "Still got OWL's and NEWT's and those I heard are the hard part." Ew, she really detested finals as it was! Well two years and she'd have to sit through those as well. "Yeah...job..." And she had no clue what she wanted to do. "I have no idea, what I'll do after Hogwarts." Maybe become healer and take auntie's job? Heh, no ew. She hated getting injured she couldn't imagine helping others who came in hurt or sick!

Nodding her head Tessa agreed. "Oh yes. Very fun, for a while at least." Tessa like this Zoe girl. She was nice and talkative, just like Tessa. "It would be sooooooooo much easier." Okay. So she was exaggerating....Tessa was pretty good at that. "What if instead of middle names, it was a number?" Tessa asked laughing at the idea. "I would be "Hello, I'm Tessa 538 Hart." That'd be interesting, always keep people guessing." Now it seemed that Tessa was starting to get hyper...even without the cupcakes.
At the mention of OWL's and NEWT's Tessa scrunched her face up. "Ew." She said simply. "They sound awful. I don't even want to take the final exams." Tessa said with a sigh. "At least we know we won't be professional exam takers." There was a silver lining to life after Hogwarts after all! "I know what you could be! You could be the Minister's personal decorator. You follow the Minister around and redecorate every room." Yep. That sounded perfect. So perfect that Tessa might have to look into that...when she got closer to graduating that is.

She put on a shocked look as she glanced around at said magical creatures surrounding them.
Schuyler kept her eyes lowered on the bowl as she beat the eggs in, a smirk forming on her lips. "Not here here. Maybe in the pantry." Her eyes flickered to Olly momentarily. You know, out of house elf sight and everything. Wouldn't want them to beckon a professor and land Schuyler in detention. And Olly. Schuyler would probably try to drag Olly with her for the fun of it.
She still felt the other girl's hands on her face. And then on her clothes. What was she, a kitchen towel? The flour stuck to her face all powdery and dry. The grin remained too, though, because she had liked the touch and was slightly disappointed when the Hufflepuff leaned back and not in. "Did I get the Olly Clarke mark?" Yes, part of the reason she asked this was so that she could rhyme it.
Anyway, mixing.
The butter was almost mixed in there too now, but it was still a little clumpy, so Schuyler continued beating for a little longer. She was done, hmm? When the mixture was at a decent consistency, Schuyler lifted the whisk from the bowl and held it in front of her. Of course it still had pancake mix clinging to the top of the utensil, and that's how she wanted it. With her eyes on Olly and a smile to match, she flicked it forward so that the residue flew off and splatted onto her friend. "That's for the playing with food reprimand." She flicked it once more, and though there wasn't as much mixture to leave the whisk this time, the mix still speckled the girl's face and shirt and made Olly into a sight that would make even Jackson Pollock quite proud. "And that one was for the eggs." A slight laugh even escaped her as she gave her friend a once-over.
Back to business? "So, how do I make this into pancakes, then?"
Lex was willing to admit that the question Michael had just asked was a rather curious one. Er...she was staring at him.
Why was she staring at him?
Michael squirmed under her gaze and had to fight the urge to see if he had something on his face or in his hair. After another moment though, she finally spoke and he felt himself relax. And her answer had him grinning like an idiot. "I consider you a friend too." In case she wanted to know. Although he was a little unprepared for all the compliments she was throwing his way and that just made his grin widen even more. "you think I'm smart, huh? It's nice to know someone does." Zahra often told him that he was dumb. Sure she was probably just playing but you know it starts to make you wonder after a while. "And just so you know Alexa Cambridge, I think you're smart, exciting and...pretty." Phew! He told her! He had just told her that she was pretty.
"We'll just tell her that there is a limit. You know...five per customer or something like that?" Not to say that they were going to do a bad job of making these chocolate frogs but since neither of them really knew what they were doing, Michael would be surprised if they sold any.
So, it looked as though their frogs were going to have sprinkles, nuts and choc chips altogether. Well it was certainly different. Michael quickly stirred the added ingredients into the chocolate. "We can do that." Spray the whipped cream onto the frogs. "Alright I'll need you to help me pour the chocolate into the moulds."
Schuyler kept her eyes lowered on the bowl as she beat the eggs in, a smirk forming on her lips. "Not here here. Maybe in the pantry." Her eyes flickered to Olly momentarily. Back to business? "So, how do I make this into pancakes, then?"
The smirk on Olly's face matched Schuyler's as she briefly glanced over to where she'd got the ingredients earlier. The pantry huh? That was a pretty good idea, actually. Sneaky. Olly liked it. "I could think of better things to do there though..." At this she met the other girl's gaze again, her lips curling up into a grin. Like, the Gryffindor's lips looked extremely inviting right now...
The Olly Clarke mark? That did have a nice ring to it, to be honest. "Yeah. Congrats." Though the flour marks wouldn't be permanent. Actually, they probably wouldn't even last an hour. They'd be gone soon. She'd have to come up with something else. Huh. "It suits you." The flour on her face. The Olly Clarke mark. That kind of thing.
Running a hand through her hair in an attempt to get rid of the flour that was still covering her, Olly watched Schuyler do as told in silence for a moment. Actually the batter did start to look like it usually looked. Maybe the pancakes would be edible after all. If they added A LOT of maple syrup. Olly looked up just in time to find the other girl looking at her as well. And then she noticed the whisk...
..."Hey!" Though her protest seemed a little half-hearted, seeing as there was a grin on her lips. She didn't even get the chance to clean herself off before there was more pancake mixture flying her way. Great. It was covering her face now. Thanks. "I didn't bring you here to have a food fight, you know." Not that she completely opposed of the idea or anything. She nudged Schuyler with her foot again, ignoring the food on her own face for the time being. If the Gryffindor minded she would have to get rid of it herself.
"I'm not sure you can turn this into pancakes." Olly nodded towards the bowl, smirking at Schuyler teasingly. "We need a pan." With this she stretched across the other girl, holding on to her shoulder to keep from falling face-first into the bowl, to get a pan from one of the shelves. "And first you go put this-" The mixture. "-in there." She handed the Gryffindor a jug. It would be easier to pour then.

Better things? Schuyler's mind had been wandering along that same track. And so the smirk remained. "I'm always open to new ideas.." Her eyebrows raised slightly as she looked Olly's way. With the way the other girl was looking at her, Schuyler was quickly losing all interest in pancakes.
The Hufflepuff confirmed the Olly Clarke mark then. Two handprints on either side of her face that apparently suited her. Kind of Native American style, yes? Schuyler smiled and didn't even bother to look for something that would offer her reflection. She liked it. And Olly said it looked all right, so that was enough to keep it there and not rub it off with her sleeve.
Now there was a speckled Olly here who didn't actually look mad about the fact that she had just gotten pancake mix spritzed on her. "Food fights aren't often planned," she grinned. "Besides.." Lifting her hand, she wiped away a bit of the mixture off Olly's face and used her mouth as a means to remove said mixture from her finger now. "I can clean you up if you want." Seeing as Olly wasn't making any effort to do so.
Why on earth wouldn't they be able to turn it into pancakes? Everything was all beaten together. But a moment later Olly was saying something about a pan and reaching across her to grab one. Was she getting one? Schuyler's attention was a little too focused on where the other girl's neck met her jaw and how the closeness now allowed her to pick up on the scent of her hair. Smelled nice..
And then a jug was thrust into her hands and Olly was sitting back as she had been before. Her mind started to clear. The mixture went into the jug. For pouring purposes. "Oh. Right." Her hands went to the bowl and she lifted it up to the neck of the jug. She did her best to get it all in there smoothly, but doing it without spilling any wasn't happening. Nope.

Holding Schuyler's gaze, Olly slowly ran her fingers up the other girl's arm. Her mind may have wandered. New ideas? She had A LOT of ideas right now. She straightened up so could whisper into the Gryffindor's ear after brushing her hair out of the way. "I'm sure we can come up with something..." Later. After they'd finished the pancakes. Though, her lips did linger near the other girl's earlobe a little longer than necessary.
ANYWAY. Pancakes. Yes. And stuff on her face. Yes. This.
Olly snickered at Schuyler's words, shaking her head softly in agreement. Nope. That was very true. "And I really don't like to plan things in general." So this, this was good. This was exactly to her liking. And Schuyler knew this. She held completely still when the Gryffindor went ahead and wiped some of the mixture off her face. Her eyes remained on the other girl's fingers a second too long before flicking back up to meet her gaze. "Be my guest. I'm all yours." Olly even leaned forward slightly and raised her head, a smirk playing around her lips.
BUT PANCAKES. Somehow she kept on being distracted. Why was Schuyler so distracting?
Good, Schuyler was sooooort of getting most of the mixture into the jug. Meanwhile Olly had finally hopped off the counter to go ahead and put the pan on the stove. "Now we need to heat things up a little." Yes, that was a very bad word play but she grinned at the Gryffindor nonetheless. Once the pan was sufficiently hot, she added some of the butter and watched as it slowly melted. "Go add some of the mixture then." She did know what pancakes looked like, right? So she probably could guess the approximate size.

The hairs on her arm prickled as she felt Olly's fingers tracing lightly upon it. And when the other girl moved her hair away to whisper in her ear, she closed her eyes for a moment, as if that might quell whatever it was that was now rushing through her body. Really, it only did the opposite by giving her mind a blank canvas to see the things that she wanted to do right now. Things that only involved the girl who was moving back from her face.
But somehow - who knew how - they had successfully steered their attention back to the pancakes. More specifically, the pancake batter that had found its way onto Olly. "Yes. Very characteristic of you." The whole not planning thing. However, as much as Schuyler also loved spontaneity, there were times when it was good to plan. They could broach that topic another time, though. All hers, huh? She liked the sound of that. A small grin graced her lips as she glanced down at Olly's. Though when she felt the prying eyes of a house elf, she collected herself somewhat and simply slipped the towel off the oven handle to pass it over the other girl's face. "There." After pancakes she could be a little more 'thorough'..
Now Olly was off the counter and by the stove. The play on words was totally cheesy, and yet it still elicited an amused laugh from the Gryffindor. Heat things up. When the other girl directed her to add the mixture to the pan, Schuyler lifted the jug and moved closer for better accuracy. She turned it and poured, and only stopped when the circle of batter was about five or six inches wide. Voila.
