Professor Bellaire has once again brought the wonders of the tropics to the heart of Scotland itself. Older students will remember the warmth, sand and of course the tropical fauna of the replica of Sophia's home land. There is a hut that automatically restocks itself with coconut water as well as regular water and for those who want something sweater, strawberry dakery and pina colada is also there.
Hammocks are present along the beach under low hanging coconut tree but do not try to cross the barrier that keeps students from going into the actual 'sea' itself (you will be struck by a stinging hex).
Further additions to the Irie room includes three mini outdoor libraries, but don't let their looks fool you, they are adequately stacked.
The sections include: Reference History Fiction
The library sections are located off the sand on what appears to be the edge of a lush and cool tropical forest. The difference in temperature is immediate once you leave the sands of the beach.
Professor Bellaire wishes to Emphasize that this is room is not to be abused and certain decorum is expected. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in certain punishment and a permanent ban from the room.
Please note that while the library is fully functional certain books can only be accessed by using the official Hogwarts library.
When Minnie rebuked Tora, or implied that she should do a better job of being a "role model", she felt a sharp note of shame. She really looked up to the older Hufflepuff girl, and she didn't want to disappoint her. Especially since she was a prefect. However, to avoid Snake seeing that she was bothered, she quickly turned that shame into indignation; after all she was only a year older than the other kid, if that! She was about to open her mouth to say something of the sort when she thought about what Minnie's reaction would probably be. Disappointment. So instead she decided that she would yell at the boy later, and go with what Minnie wanted right now which was peace and no fighting.
The Ravenclaw nodded her head in agreement to Minnie's suggestion that everything was fixed, fine, and dandy. With a prefect in the room, Tora was eager to stop fighting with Snake. She had been getting dangerously close to being a disturbance that might have gotten her in serious trouble with the teachers that were still in the room. Albeit on the other side of the room, but they were still there.
"The page is 58. I didn't lose the page," she quipped, staring stonily around Minnie at Snake where he was cowering. (Pathetic) Just because she wanted this argument to be over didn't mean she was going to be friendly with the Slytherin.
Cutty scampered off to fetch his book while Minnie addressed Tora, though upon his return he remained closer to the older girl than Tora. He began flipping through the pages of his book and chimed in when he caught what Minnie was saying.
"She wasn't being very helpful t'all." He added calmly though his face remained tear-stained as he had not bothered to wipe it clean. "She kept talking whilst I was trying to read and I even told her to stop talking and leave me alone. I think she feels anger towards me because she doesn't like my friend, Benzi. She pushed him and was yelling at him on the third floor for no reason whatever. Forrest knows. So does Fern. They were both there." Forrest was no good at being dishonest from what he'd seen of the lad, even if Fern was the sort who would be. Although for some reason, perhaps the way she tried to defend Charlie Tudor, Cutty didn't think her the type to go out of her way to fabricate something. Dislike him, though she did.
He noted Tora's stony gaze and after flipping the book open to page 58, he raised his head. "That's not the page I was on." He said, sounding troubled and taking a deep inhale, although it TOTALLY was the page he was on! It was at this point, he was starting to get a read off of Minnie. She had a very laid-back nature to her. She wouldn't want this to escalate and that suited him as well for the moment.
"Not that I'll mind reading it over again, but it was still rude of her to have snatched it." He said with a short shrug, while looking up at Minnie and sounding like he was getting over it. "My name's Cutty, Minnie. Cutty Mordaunt." He said, exhaling in a manner he didn't have to try to fill with sincere gratitude. Her timing was perfect. "And I was trying to look up good defensive spells. We didn't learn that many in Defense class...and...you don't know a good one you could show me, do you? You don't even have to teach it to me, I'll look it up myself, since...Well, you're a seventh year, aren't you? You probably have a lot of studying you want to get done yourself."

Minerva watched Tora with some interest. Well she wasn't sure if she was really reading the girl correctly, but she thought she felt bad for her actions. Which Min didn't think Tora was a mean girl, so maybe it was just a miss understanding and the two could move past it now. Oh and she remembered the page, see it could be an easy fix. "Well that is nice that you know the page." She looked at Cutty hopeful, but her smile turned into a frown as Cutty chimed in saying it wasn't in page. "Well maybe this was all just an accident. Let's find what page it was." Then Min could go back to her own studying.
Minerva sighed and looked back at Tora, "Tora please tell me you aren't going around picking on first years." She knew Forrest would never lie nor Fern and she was very protective of her two badgers. She really didn't want to get staff involved so she was hoping she could just handle it and move on. "I know you are better than that, so I'm going to say that was just a bad day for you or a miss understanding. I wouldn't think you would be picking on any first or second years, let alone my badgers." Not that she wouldn't protect the rest of the younger students at Hogwarts, but those two were part of her baby badgers and she would not tolerate them being picked on.
She gave the boy a smile, "Well it is very nice to meet you Cutty." Then she tilted her head curiously at what he was learning, she couldn't help but wonder if these defensive spells would be used against someone. "Why do you want to learn defensive spells without waiting for Romanos to teach them?" Just curious mind you, but she hoped he wasn't trying to pull the wool over her eyes as the innocent. "What spells were you looking for and I can tell you if I know them or not." She could show him some basics she figured that wasn't to bad to do.
Hold up. Cutty needed to stop spinning this web of lies here. First off, Tora would have given her Astreglobe if page 58 wasn't the page Snake had been on. Second, SNAKE NOW HAD MINNIE THINKING SHE BEAT UP ON FORREST. No. No, no no, that is not how the story went.
As for Cutty, well, Tora gave him a look as if to say "Really? You're just gonna lie like that?" before turning to the Hufflepuff Prefect.
"I don't go around picking on first years, it's mean. I go around defending first years from bullies," insert pointed look at Snake here, "The thing Cutty is talking about was a couple days ago when I found Benzi and Cutty making fun of Forrest, who was being helped by Fern back to the common room. I didn't like that, so I stood up for my friends." Fern wasn't necessarily Tora's friend, but Forrest sure as hell was, and Tora didn't like that Snake was making it sound like she would ever hurt him!
Defense spell, that sounded interesting. As much as she disliked Snake, she wanted to learn some defense spells! Especially if Minnie was giving a free lesson! "Can I learn some spells too?" she asked suddenly interested in what, exactly, Cutty had been reading. "If you have extra time to teach me, that is." she added. Minnie looked kind of tired, and she didn't want to burden Minnie with the task of teaching a second year (and probably a first year too) defense spells.
"It's alright, Minnie. I can find it later." He said, shutting the book and not wanting to deal with book pages while Tora went on with...could that have been how she saw it? Really? The thought amused Cutty, though he showed no signs of it upon his freckled face. Still holding to the fact that Tora fancied Forrest and was merely showing off for him that day.
Cutty caught the look Tora had given him, but he didn't seem to register it, his face holding to a somewhat blanked resolve. He took a deep inhale and began, refraining from pointing his finger back as though it were a wand and he could literally curse Tora with it. Instead he just stood there. Calmly clutching his book. "That's not exactly as it happen, Minnie. I didn't actually say anything to Forrest and Benzi merely stopped to say 'Hullo'." He began as if Tora were something they were BOTH having to DEAL with. "But perhaps you are right and she was merely having...a bad day. And anyway, you don't have to take our word for it. You can ask Fern and Forrest yourself when you see them in your common room. And they won't lie to you, you're a house leader." He said with a smile as if he were glad to have the matter settled and catching her protectiveness over her badgers.
"But, let's learn about a spell?" His tone had totally changed from ill-lucked exasperation and down-troddened firstie to one of eager young hopeful. "Something not yoga or merely object-oriented, since that's what Romanos will teach us as I've seen. Though, this sort of can't wait, since some students think it's fun to pick on smaller first years and I don't want to have to rely on anyone to come to my defense. But it should be something very useful that can buy us time if we run into trouble. How about a good disarming spell?" He said hopefully and returning Min's smile.

Were they really going to fight over what happened that day, "Alright.. alright.. It's fine, we will just let that day go for now, okay?" She wasn't going to stand and play referee over something like who was mean to who, plus she would be asking Forrest and Fern. "Don't worry I will talk to them and find out what happened, but for now we are going to just drop it and move on. Sound good?" Well she was hoping it sounded good. She looked at Cutty and shook her head, "They wouldn't lie to me, because they are my friends not because I'm a house leader." She really thought of them as her friends, so she knew they would tell her what really happened.
She wasn't so sure she wanted to teach these two defensive spells when it seemed something more was going on than they were letting on. Just her luck they would probably use them against each other, but a simple disarming spell wouldn't be to hard and actually she figured Tora probably already knew it. "I can teach you some spells, but you have to promise you won't use them on each other and that you are not just wanted to learn them to be mean. You don't want me finding out if you lie to me either. She did have that book of transfiguration spells and was looking for someone to use them on, hmm.
Anyway, learning spells, "expelliarmus would be the easiest to learn. Do either of you know that one already?"
Bad day? That was ridiculous. She had been having a wonderful day until she had come upon Cutty and Benzi in the hallway! Any day where she found two people making fun of Forrest meant it turned into a bad day. He had obviously been trying to get somewhere unnoticed, but Benzi had ruined that and then made fun of Forrest for wearing robes around his waste. Obviously some accident had happened to put Forrest in that unfortunate situation, and there was no reason what so ever for Cutty and Benzi to tease. She scowled when Snake mentioned "bad day" and didn't even bother to look at him anymore. He wasn't worth her time.
Tora had already learned Expelliarmus, but it wouldn't hurt to review. It might just be boring. Besides, she didn't want to learn spells when Minnie still thought she was mean. Stupid Snake telling stupid lies then acting like he was all innocent and ohh, it's all right Minnie, I can deal with it and tough it up. It just ticked Tora off, rubbed her the wrong way, pushed her buttons; but she felt like Cutty already knew that and was saying for that purpose, so she only gave a small smile. "I've already learned Expelliarmus, but I would be willing to practice it again I guess," she said to Minnie. The other topic of what had happened the other night in the third floor corridor just needed to be dropped, and the only way Tora could see getting rid of that topic was to let Cutty be and move onto learning spells.
Cutty's head gave a nod to Min's resolution to just leave it as it were. And he was, for now going to abide by that. Though his heart and mind knew very little about forgiveness. That and other reasons were why he looked so terribly perplexed by the next thing that came out of Min's mouth. They wouldn't lie to me, because they are my friends not because I'm a house leader.
He looked blank, though perhaps it could've been interpreted as a sort of calm expectation of spell instruction. He stood back and watched Tora for a moment. Her scowl and then her small smile said that his work here was not in vain. "Oh! Expelliarmus! I haven't learned that one yet. Show us, Minnie?" He said sounding enthusiastic and reaching for his wand.

Minerva watched them both still not being able to figure out what really happened, but part of her didn't care. It seemed over now so hopefully they could just move on. Honestly she wanted to get back to transfiguration studying and it didn't seem like it was going to happen. She looked back at the two again. So Tora knew the spell, well she figured, but maybe that was good she could help show Cutty.
Looking to Cutty she smiled, "Well this one will disarm someone. She want to move your wand like this." She pulled her wand out and did the long straight line down and then around like a six. "The words are just Expelliarmus" She did the movement again so he was sure to see. "Tora want to get your wand out so I can show him?" It would be easier if she had her wand and ready, she could probably even do it to Min if she rather.
Tora had already shrugged her bag off her shoulder and onto the floor. Funny how hard that was to do when it was charmed to be feather light. Tora watched Minnie demonstrate the familiar movement of the defensive spell and then tugged her own ebony wand out of her back pocket. "Tugged" is too slow of a word for how fast she whipped it out. "Expelliarmus!" she muttered as she waved her wand, her words something of a blur. Hoping to surprise Minnie and maybe show off a bit to the Snake, she had decided to just take the leap quickly and try to get the Prefect's wand. Not that she truly expected it to work as the older girl would most likely be able to "Protego" the spell before it actually hit her, but it was still worth a shot. Tora was grinning when she finished the spell. It didn't matter to her whether or not the spell met its mark, it was exciting!
