The entrance to the Gryffindor Common Room is guarded by the very famous and very vocal portrait of one large woman, affectionately known to all as the Fat Lady. To gain entrance to the lions' common room, simply tell her the password and she should swing forward to reveal the round hole through which Gryffindors climb into their tower. What's beyond that hole, though, you might not like...
If you AREN'T a Gryffindor, though, and you try to get in anyway... be warned that Ms. Fat Lady might make a fuss about your sneaking around. She probably wouldn't mind your waiting on a friend outside here, but she will try to get some juicy gossip out of ya.

This was one of the drawbacks of having a best friend like Zahra, she knew him too well. He couldn't get anything passed her. "Yeah I know. Sorry." He mumbled while rubbing the back of his neck.
After that conversation he'd had with Forrest, Michael was so sure that he could just ignore it and still hang out with Z as though nothing was different but then she kept doing things like this.
Dresses, perfume and nail polish. It was getting hard to keep up with her.
And apparently he had said something wrong. Again.
He sighed and scooped up her hand. "No! We're going to hang out. I don't care whether it's in the Great Hall or a walk down to the lake. I want to spend time with my best friend." Before things changed even more.

"I was just going to go wash this stupid perfume off. It was stupid. This girl I met...," Zahra pulled her hand back from him. Not like ew don't touch me but more ... just 'cause apparently he didn't like her smell and junk. "... I don't know. She was crazy, man, but she said I'd lose if you if I didn't smell good and stuff." So. Yeah. | |

What was stupid, was what this girl had been telling her. And who was she anyway?
"Zahra." He grabbed her by the shoulders and turned her so that she was looking at him. "Stop listening to silly flaky girls okay? I already think you smell good without the perfume." It was a natural smell and reminded him of home and the outdoors and of fun times.
He let go of her shoulders and shoved his hands into his pockets. Maybe they should both stop listening to other people. It was making life rather difficult. "If you wanna wear perfume then wear it. But do it because it's something you want to do." She was never going to lose him because she didn't smell good. He wasn't shallow like that. "It did smell nice by the way. I'm just not used to it."

If he thought she always smelled good, then maybe it was Mikey who was the crazy one. 'Cause sometimes, when her and Mikey were playing hard and into only Merlin-knew-what - even Zahra was unsure about her smell. Regardless, she smiled and.... was mostly relieved to hear it.
And in spite of his hands in his pockets, Zahra threw her arms ALL THE WAY AROUND HIM for a big hug. He was getting STUPID TALL now, she noted, as an aside.
....and she tried to wipe all the perfume on HIM now. Since he liked it. Bahahaha!

He was used to her hugs now, he even allowed them because they seemed to make her happy. He even managed to get one hand out of his pocket and wrapped it around her where he gently patted her on the back.
Of course he had no idea what she was doing until she mentioned him smelling pretty too. Merlin!! Sometimes he could just...
"Pfft...I seriously doubt that." He stepped out of her embrace, turned on his heel and bolted down the corridor. Unless she knew some super fast shortcuts there was no way she could be beat him.
And at some point those first three words she had said were going to register in his brain.
