Default The Courtyard

A stone courtyard with columns surrounding the square in the middle is the perfect place for students to hang out. Benches have been provided for the students to sit on with friends or for those who want some peace and read their textbook. In the center of the courtyard is an antique fountain surrounded by statues of eagles.

Stuck inside with Sirius | *Splish-Splash* | bamBAM | ☁ Spooktacular ☁

Benjy nodded. "Unfortunately," he said with a grimace. "I'm down with the whole running thing...but seriously, 5am?" He was more the roll out of bed to just make downstairs in time for breakfast type. "Though to me, it's the yoga that takes the biscuit." He rolled his eyes. "As if we don't get enough of that in Defence Against the Dark Arts." Balancing on one leg was really not his favourite way to spend time. He really needed to explain the merits of skateboarding as a method of cross training to Mo, that was for sure.

His face fell a little. "Sorry to get you in to trouble with her. She looks like she can be pretty feisty if you get on her bad side." Maybe? Or was that just beaters and captains? He smirked. "You whipped me into shape, didn't you?" Not quite literally, but at times it'd felt like she might have done. She was a hard task master. Not that he'd minded: first, because it turned out he was good at it, and second, because he got to spend time with her. ...and his smirk morphed into a wry smile. "You're not even going to cheer me in my first match?" That still counted as yelling, yes? And if she wanted to yell useful stuff at him too, that'd be appreciated.

Scrimmage matches? They sounded fun. And extra practice? Even better. "I'd like that," he said simply, not wanting to sound clingy or creepy or whatever. She had friends to hang out with, stuff to do and all that. "We don't have to do just chaser stuff. So you can practice properly too." She was beater this year, right? Since he'd got it wrong before and all. Oh, and now she was complimenting him as a student, all because he didn't die in training? He eyed her in mock seriousness. "Didn't you know I'm actually a ghost?" Hehe.

Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite

So much for hoping Mo was only joking and thus hoping that Alice was only joking. He WAS getting them into that 5 am routine of which Benjy found the least joy in doing the yoga. "I wouldn't care what Alice has us doing so long as it's at a decent time. Midday never hurt anyone." Lex wasn't lazy nor was she unwilling but she was someone who went to bed around 2 am...so you see...this 4 am waking up business...yeah, just no. "I don't think I mind it so much in Defense class, it gives me something to do until we start learning the good stuff." Otherwise her attention would wane.

She shrugged a bit at his remorse, trying to get him to see he shouldn't worry about it. "It's Alice, I'm used to her." Besides, where Alice used intimidation with everyone else, she preferred guilting Lex with looks. If you asked her, those were far worse. Lex nodded with a grin, yes, she DID whip him into shape and he was brilliant on the pitch. Proud moment for her right here. As for cheering at his matches..."That all depends." She mused, trying to hide her look of amusement. "Naturally, I can't cheer for you if your first match is against us but barring that, I don't see why I wouldn't." Lex was a typical Ravenclaw supporter when she wasn't cheering for Gryffindor. Blue was a lovely colour, could we all just admit this? It gave her an excuse to go wild with blue paint. Hehe.

Excellent, he wanted in on the matches and would let her aim bludgers at him. That was actually really super nice and she would have to thank him at the end of the season. "Cool! We'll work something out!" GRIN--wait what?? Haha he was a ghost? "You're kidding." She said, shoving him playfully. "Why didn't you tell me sooner? Dude, the things we could have gotten away with!"

"That much is true." She really couldn't win at everything, but that didn't make the fire inside her die down any more. She was a very competitive person and that would never change. The thought of more challenges was bouncing around in her head. Oh how she would love another chance to prove that she really was better. He would take her on huh? "It's your funeral." Because she wouldn't let somebody get to her again. She would be ready. She squinted at him with her game face.

The laughing. That did seem a bit rude eh? Not that she really cared, but she was under control now. "Yes, I think I am satisfied now." It really was quite humorous to her after all. He was trying to be nice? Hannah wasn't at all used to the whole nice thing... it took her off guard, almost like she expected people to be setting her up. "It's nothing..." It was something alright, but she just couldn't talk about it. She hadn't even confided in her closest friends so yeah, that was not going to happen.

"I'm a sixth year." She paused sizing him up. "You can't be more than a second year right?" He had to be a first year because of his size. She was pretty sure that she had never seen him around but he was a puffer and she didn't keep track of them.
Hmmm. The Courtyard was rally cool. Well maintained obviously by the Groundskeeper dude. That reminded him. He needed to go ask the man about Hippogriffs! He kept forgetting. Oops. Meh. Maybe he'd go after he was done talking to this girl who was being rude to him.

"Well, we'll just have to see about that then!''
Adi declared with a grin. He might just look like a shrimp at five feet but he was a determined little fellow. "You just might get another surprise.'' Oh! Game face? He returned his. Oh yesh. He was a determined Puffer.

"Are you always this rude?'
' the eleven year old asked. He was not afraid to say what he wanted. He had a suspicion Hannah knew she was being rude but she didn't care. "Do you have friends?'' That rudeness was not going to get her friends. Not much anyway. "Or is it that you just don't like me? Or first years in general? Or Hufflepuffs?''

"Oh you're old!''
Adi blurted without thinking. Oops! He could feel his cheeks growing hot. "I don't mean that you're old as in age. I meant you're one of the older students. Sorry about that.'' He grinned sheepishly. "I'm a first year,'' he added with a nod.

Shivering, Zoe headed out to the courtyard. She probably shouldn't have gone out since she had a cough and sore throat but she was tired of being cooped up inside! So she was wrapped up in a scarf and coat. It was nice out but she didn't want to get more sick! Sighing she made her way to one of the benches and plopped down on it.

It seemed like Adi was set on challenging her and Hannah was only too willingly to accept. It really wasn't about just him, although she didn't like the fact that he was one up on her, she wanted a re-match on the whole house of Hufflepuff. She wanted, no she NEEDED to win. "I guess we will." A surprise eh? Not if Hannah had anything to do about it. "I wouldn't count your chickens before they're hatched." Did she really just say that?

The next thing to come out of Adi's mouth actually caught her off guard. She wasn't used to puffers standing up for themselves. This was a nice little change. She liked the spunk. Oh darling, this isn't me being rude at all." Really he had no idea. If anything she was actually being nice. Perhaps he should go chat up Laura and Sophie and they could tell him just how rude she could be. "I am friends with only ones who are worthy." So yes she did have friends, but no she was not friends with just anyone. Hmm... how to answer the next question. The sixth year didn't even bat a lash at his words. She merely took her time pondering what to say as if she were being interviewed. She couldn't really say that she didn't like the boy. So far she liked that he stood up for himself, but he was a Hufflepuff. "Well, I am not fond of Hufflepuffs... young people are ok as long as they don't annoy me." Cough. "I haven't decided on you just yet." That much was true.

Old? Hannah was not old. "I think you meant to say perfect." The poor boy was confused. Look at that, he was apologizing! How cute! There really was no need for that. She knew she was perfect.

Fern skipped into the courtyard, tote slung over her shoulder and slapping happily against her hip with each perky step. Spotting a vacant bench, the young Hufflepuff skidded to a stop and hopped onto the stone seating. Then she pulled out her bottle of Perfect nails.

She was going to give Minnie the BEST MANICURE EVER.

Fern giggled just thinking about how great it was going to be.

Default Astro assignment 1 post 1

With marshmallows in hand, Asher headed out into the courtyard to begin his assignment. The weather was crisp and clear, a perfect day to toast marshmallows by the power of the sun. Felling a little chill in the air, he wrapped his robes around himself and gently sat his things on a bench.

Before he began, Asher fixed his magnifying glass on his wand and practiced the Solis Focus spell a few times before trying it out for real. Knowing he wanted to be able to find Delphinus and Corona Borealis that evening. He figured the easiest way was to have an example of the constellations to look for.

Asher pulled out a large plate and placed the marshmallows in the shapes of the constellations. If he were to leave the marshmallows as they were, they would roll around and not hold their positions. His fix for this was to toast the marshmallows. This would make them stick to the plate and offer him a snack when he found the stars in the sky.

After checking the fit of the magnifying glass on the end of his wand, Asher commanded "Solis Focus!" The marshmallows started to swell and brown on the plate, offering a most delightful smell, and sticking to the plate. Both constellations were properly toasted and ready to be taken to the grounds that evening.

Kace decided to leave the lake and explore the grounds. He wanted to know what he could melt. He knew his theory about making fire out of wood worked but he wanted to try something knew. He got out on old metal watch from his trunk. He never ever used this thing anyways. So this was sacrificed for science! He smirked and could imagine the look on his mom's face. "How could you do this!!" he heard her shrill voice.

He shrugged it off and got into his spot. He went farther from his classmates and housemates and he noticed Asher there too. He waved to him and noticed he was doing the same assignment as well. Hmm...at least he was the only nerd here doing homework.

He got out his magnifying glass, wand, glasses for protection and gloves incase his hands got burned and then he was repeating the incantation again. He could do this!

He had his watch on the ground, not on the grass incase it caught fire and he put it on the concrete. He was hoping this was going to work. "Solis Focalis....Solis Focalis...Solis Focalis..." he kept repeating.

Minerva walked out towards the courtyard. Her class had just ended and she knew she was meeting Fern to paint nails and things. It was going to be fun just to be girly for a bit. Min wasn't one to do that often, but once in awhile was fun and why not have some fun with her younger friend. She hadn't got to spend much time with Fern and for that she certainly needed to try harder.

Giving the small girl a wave as she walked closer Min set down her bag and took a seat. Hey you, hows classes going?" Of course Minerva would ask about classes first. Priorities and all. She looked down to see the nail polish in hand. "Ready to do some nail painting?" Nail painting how lame of words was that. Oh well Minerva didn't really seem phased by using funny words or anything.

"SO should I paint yours first or do you want to do mine?" or were they doing their own and just talking. Anything would be just fine really.

Gryffinclaw-Ravendor • The REAL Hermione Granger

The courtyard was a nice sunny.. perfect for assignment. Sarah had the egg she had obtained from the kitchens in the one hand and her satchel was slung over her shoulder. She looked around for the sunniest spot. She would be making it sunnier anyhow, yet being hot already would be ideal. Finally she settled on the stone bench, she would be cleaning before and after so it did not make a difference. She placed her satchel on the ground next to the bench and then carefully balanced the egg on the flat suface. Initially it tried to roll, yet Sarah caught it in time.

Now cleaning... Sarah took out her wand, "scourigfy" she casted on the surface. It was probably really dirty and germy before. Sarah used the other cleaning spell and alternated until her mind was at rest that there were no germs chilling on the bench.

She felt the stone surface, it was hot, yet not scorching. Sarah made sure the egg was safetly out the way and she took out her magnifying glass out of the bag. She snapped it on to the wand. She gathered the suns rays in the glass and then said " Solis Focus" jabbing the wand in the direction of the stone bench.

Sarah could see that bench was heated now, so she reached for the egg. She took the magnifying glass attatchment off and used the wand to aid her crack the egg open.
She poured the egg contents on the area that she had heated... would it work?

Alright time to put this spell into action. He said the spell on repeat for a little while. He rolled up his gloves, put on his glasses for extra precaution for his eyes and had his magnifying glass in his hand. He took a deep breath and knew he could do this. I mean he did it last time right?

He got his magnifying glass aimed at the watch he wanted to melt. He really hated that thing. It was quite childish and plus it was too small. Goodbye mr.watch. Then he aimed and said "Solis Focus" and then he saw the sun's heat melt his watch he hated. He smiled and beamed at his progress. Not only could he melt things but now he was getting the hang of the spell. He saw the watch molded into a new shape. It was kind of cool looking.

Now he was going to one more place where he could test the spell and make sure he mastered it.

Once classes ended for the day, Claudette took the opportunity to take a walk outside. It was a rather nice day for November and, while she wasn't used to the cooler temperatures this far North, she had to admit that it was sunny and unseasonably warm for this time of year. Perfect day for being outside.

As she stepped out into the courtyard, the sixteen year old spotted a couple familiar girls sitting on a bench nearby - Minerva and little Fern. She gave them a little wave and began to approach, green eyes landing on what the younger girl had in her hands. Was that a jar of Perfect Nails? Oh, Claudette wanted to give Fern a makeover ever since she had run into her over summer and she was sure she'd be favorable to the idea. The French girl internally squealed with delight. Maybe Minerva would want one too and they could all get makeovers.

"Hi girls," she beamed as she walked over and squeezed herself onto the empty spot on the bench. "What are we doing? Manicures?" She looked eagerly between them both.. she was so in on this. And this could be just the beginning..

The Hufflepuff drummed his fingers on the skateboard he held, just some extra fidgeting, you know? SO this dude WAS a teacher. Right yes okay. Note to self: pay attention at school feasts and speeches.

"I do!" Toby responded brightly. "I just moved in with my grandparents. The house with the red door and the apple tree out front." That's right, Tobias. Just give away your address. "D'you know it? What about you... d'you live 'round there too? I seem to almost-but-not-quite run you over a LOT." Heh. Gosh, imagine if they lived on the same street though. Weird. And pretty cool.

Bouncebounce.

"My name's Toby, by the way. Toby Tempus. Or Tobias. Whichever." Or Mister Tempus, the ol' professor go-to name for him.
Oh, good, he hadn't run anyone over. Yet. Piers chuckled. "I hope it stays that way." Just saying. He didn't want his toes broken, thanks.

The house with the red door and the apple tree... Piers stared off to the side and tried to think of which house he was talking about. Oh, yeah, he remembered the red door, and now that he thought about it, that was an apple tree. "Oh, okay, I know where that is. Yeah, I'm just down the street on the corner. Green door. Trees, too, but I don't know what kind they are." He had only lived there for a couple months, so his mind had been on unpacking and furniture shopping, so trees analyzing hadn't really been a priority.

Tobias Tempus. Toby. Got it. "Pleasure to officially meet you again, Toby. You can just call me Professor Fuller." Because that was... 'appropriate' or whatever. Still made him feel old though.

Fern was contemplating which color would best compliment Minnie's complexion when she spotted the older girl waving across the courtyard. "Minnie!" she squealed, before remembering that she was talking to a SEVENTEEN-year-old and needed to be mature. "Hey," she added nonchalantly. There. That sounded cooler.

"Classes are going good," Fern responded vaguely, not wanting to admit that the Arithmancy class (but especially its homework) had gone right over her head, and the whole flying over a lake inhabited by a giant squid with a hankering for human flesh in Astronomy had been beyond terrifying. Normally, she would have inquired how the older girl's classes were going, but Fern decided not to this time. She had seen Minnie's beards. And her reactions. And having had to paint with a beard herself, she didn't need to ask how that had been.

It was with these thoughts that Fern cried, "YES!" to Minnie's next question with double enthusiasm. "I'm SO EXCITED!!! And it doesn't matter to me! How do you want to do it?!" So focused on nail painting, Fern didn't notice Claudette approach until the Ravenclaw was saying hi.

"CLAUDETTE!" Fern greeted, scrunching against Minnie to make room on the bench for her friend, "Yes we are! Do you want one!!??"

Please, oh please, oh please say yes!!!

Caleb was FREEZINNNNGGG. Why couldn't they do this astronomy thing in the tower? Where is was WARM and he didn't have to worry about bundling up for homework? He knew what he was looking for tonight and was in no mood to spend a ton of time staring at it like he had with Saturn and some of the other stuff. Nope. He was tired and cold and all he could think of was the nice cup of hot tea waiting for him when he returned.

He settled in the courtyard, since he had a really good view from there, and decided to see if he could stop here and spot the constellation. He pulled out the telescope he'd cleaned and began to search. He consulted his star chart a few times, since he was having difficulty finding this one (probably because his brain was all TEA TEA TEA TEA TEA) but after a few moments of searching, he found it.

"AHA! Got you, Pegasus!" he said to himself. He scribbled down his observations on his handy dandy note sheet he was keeping to go along with the project, and then tucked everything back into his bag and headed inside.

"I'm not counting any chickens,'' Adi replied, swinging his feet as they were too short to touch the ground. Which was fine by him. He hated having to sit still anyway. "I'm just being confident.'' Confidence was good, just not over confidence. "Are you on the Snake Quidditch team, anyway? Someone with all that determination should be.''

"If this isn't rude to you, I can really imagine rude,'' the little badger continued, speaking his mind and not at all being intimidated by Hannah. Now it was his turn to laugh. He burst out laughing (though not as loudly as Hannah did). "So you're like the human version of the Sorting Hat then? Only thing you figure out who's worthy or not?'' That would explain why she hadn't devoured him with her rudeness as yet. She was sizing him up, trying to figure out if he was "worthy". Not found of Hufflepuffs? Adi stared. "Why not?'' he asked. "We're adorable!'' Hehe. "Are we too goody good for the young Snake?'' And he was right! She was sizing him up.

Adi let out another snort of laughter at Hannah's next words but quickly managed to turn it into a coughing fit. "No one,'' he said, stressing on the words, "Is perfect.''

be curious, not judgmental

Having smuggled a large goblet of water from the Great Hall, Sophie hurried through the corridors toward the courtyard, her Hermione!wand with the weird magnifying glass attachment already connected at the end of her wand in the other hand. She wasn't sure if this was going to work, but it was worth a shot, yeah? The instructions had said to try their ideas, not necessarily succeed, right? So she was experimenting. And if she was wrong, she wasn't going to go erase everything she had already written out. That would be dishonest. And... way more work than she wanted to put in right now. But she could try to boil some water. That was easy.

Much easier than her next idea, but she had to do this one first in case the other landed her in detention or something.

Resting the goblet on the hard ground in a spot of the courtyard illuminated by sunlight, Sophie crinkled her nose when some water spilled over the sides as the liquid rocked back and forth. Maybe... that was okay. Less water to heat then, yeah? Maybe that would even speed the process. Taking a moment to position her wand's magnifying glass attachment to catch the sunlight and focusing hard to direct it into the goblet, Sophie murmured, "Solis Focalis!" The beam of sunlight shook the goblet and splashed some out, and the first year bent down to whisk a finger around in the water. Hm. The center of it was kind of warm, but toward the outside it was still cold. She stirred up the water a bit with her finger, trying to evenly distribute some of the heat, and rose once more, her eyebrows furrowed with determination.

It was then that she realized she probably wouldn't succeed with this. And if she did, it would take... AWHILE. But she had some time. No biggie. So Sophie directed her wand back toward the goblet. "Solis Focalis! Solis Focalis! Solis Focalis!" Jab, splash, jab, splash, jab, splash. The more water that jolted over the side, the more Sophie thought the less water she had to try to boil, THE BETTER.

Alexa had to do a bit of bundling up before heading onto the grounds. Winter was just about here and she didn't plan to get herself frost bitten just so she could watch the night sky. Felix was snuggled up inside her jacket, making her extra warm and him extra comfy; a win-win right here. Besides, at night, she wasn't too keen letting him walk freely at night. He could slip off at any minute and she didn't think she would have been able to find him...not without a few charms and a giant waste of her time.

"You'll have to stop wiggling so much, or I'll file your nails again." She threatened, but not harshly. It was more like a general fact she was letting him become aware of.

Lex had a telescope buried in her pocket just in case and a leisurely walk about her. There was no rush. They still had maybe...an hour? Two? before they had to head back to the Common Room and of course she was using the curfew of the older students and the prefects because she was NOT a baby and did NOT go to bed as early as they wanted the ickles doing so.

Felix's wiggling decreased, giving her more time to just enjoy the night sky for what it was. This was actually really relaxing. Why didn't anyone suggest this to her sooner?

Her eyes trailed above, giving her a feeling of being smaller than she usually felt...hey...hey wasn't that...she could have been sure that thing right there looked like Pegasus..."Isn't it pretty, Felix?"

Default Astronomy Homework #1- post 3
Gryffinclaw-Ravendor • The REAL Hermione Granger

Sarah watched as the albumen (is that what the non-yolk part is called?) spread, leaving the yellow yolk in the centre. Or more like off centre. The albumen began to thicken and slowly lost its transparency and turned white.

She was making an egg on a rock.. an old experiment. This was pure awesome!

Sarah waited for a bit until she was sure that her egg was ready. Usually she would take the frying pan off the flame, yet now she could not do that. Time to be old fashioned... like really old fashioned. Sarah got out a knife and fork and began to eat the albumen, working her way around the yolk. She was careful not to break the yolk.

Finally she was left with the yolk. Sarah swooped at it with her fork and shoved it into her mouth, careful not to break it. Then, once it was in her mouth she let it run. HEAVEN.

Sarah got a serviette out of her bag and wiped her face. All clean.

She then took out her wand again and casted the cleaning spell on the rock and all her supplies. Having cleared up her work place, Sarah packed up and left.

Stuck inside with Sirius | *Splish-Splash* | bamBAM | ☁ Spooktacular ☁

Benjy pursed his lips together thoughtfully. "As long as there's time for a decent lunch afterwards. All this exercise does leave me rather hungry." It was a good job meals were back to proper Hogwarts standards and free, really. Plus all the food parcels from home. Though he frowned at her DADA commonet. "I guess, though I'd suggest it rather prolongs the time until we get to the interesting stuff. I thought I had good balance, until I had to stand on one leg like a tree which looks nothing like a tree and think about difficult things at the same time. It's ridiculous." Seriously, how many trees had a triangle sticking out one side?

Well, if she was fine with it, he was too. "Let's hope your first match isn't against us then, ease me in gently and all that." He winked again. "Good excuse to wear plenty of blue in the name of school spirit." Though, going on the blue wings in astronomy, she didn't need much of an excuse. Even if she'd gone and put RED ones on. Yes, we noticed, Lex.

More grins. And nods. Lots of nods. And then a playful grin. "I would have thought someone as observant as yourself would have noticed long ago..." he said with a smirk. The pearlescent clothing and translucent face really did give it away. And he had neither. Haha.

Hang on.

"You saying we can't get away with things otherwise?" Eyebrows for YOU, Miss Cambridge.

"You'll have plenty of time for lunch, Mo's already set on waking you all at an unholy hour. There's still hope for me. I can still wake up late and start training at noon. As a Gryffindor, I've learned the art of scarfing down copious amounts of food in seconds." Some said it was impressive, others thought it was terrifying. She took a moment to think about what he'd said concerning DADA. He thought they were useless, she saw them as a necessary evil in order to get to the hexes. "It might be ridiculous but I bet you'd pass for a good tree." The balance wasn't that hard either, but that might just have been because of her prior history with gymnastics. Eh.

"I doubt it will be but then I can't be sure. Alice was saying something about it and now I wish I was listening..." If memory served, they could possibly have been up against Hufflepuff first? Something like that. And he caught on quickly. Lex grinned. "Yup! Have to be able to support a team that isn't mine, otherwise I wouldn't be able to say I have good sportsmanship." Even if she couldn't really care less about the people playing so long as her face and hair were blue. Ahem.

She was laughing by now. "I am observant, you're just good at hiding it considering I haven't gone through you yet." Even sitting here now with him, at least her hand was touching him, no transparency heeeere.

And an interesting question that brought a smirk to her face. "We still could, in theory, but see, me and Lottie have sworn off of Ravenclaws when it comes to trying to pull things off." Dumb as bricks, that's what she and her best friend had said. Whenever they involved a Ravenclaw in their plans things ALWAYS turned out rubbish...except with Aidan, he didn't count because they'd gotten away with stealing the gems and he came in handy for hiding them. But really. Losing 50 points for a Ravvie first year and another 20 because of OLDER claws. She and Lottie had seen enough of them, thanks.

Minerva smiled at the girls excitement. She adored Fern and loved how excited she got. It was great to get to meet her over the summer and she loved getting to know her more now. Giving the girl a hug before settling down next to her Minerva shrugged. "It's up to you. You are the professional here." She had helped Min a ton over summer when she had forgot that she only had so much money to spend and went on her way to much shopping spree. So she knew that Fern would know the best way to start the nail painting.

"I do have a quidditch match coming up, maybe we can do our nails for house pride. Will you come watch the match?" She hoped the young girl would, but did she even like quidditch. Min wasn't to sure of that answer. "Are you a fan of the game?" Most wizards were, but there were a few that weren't. She knew some. Just then she heard someone else and looked. "Claudette, yes we are." Min giggled at Fern's reaction. "Yes like Fern said join us." She didn't know the girls knew each other, but she was glad they did. "Have you two met before?" Of course it seemed like they had, but you couldn't be to sure of things.

Still far too amused and giggling to herself, Sophie clutched her wand and magnifying glass attachment to her chest as she sprinted up to the courtyard, leaped behind a wall, and took refuge there, breathing heavily and listening for footsteps. Had Alec followed? Or Ella? She waited for half a minute before peeking her head around and realizing... no. No one was there. They had let her go? That was strange, but oddly satisfying all the same.

That had been awesome.

She felt a little bad, already planning on throwing some galleons at the Hufflepuff Seeker so he could buy some new shoes later. And she felt a little bad for lying on her written homework and saying she wouldn't be the type to try something like that. But when a willing target was positioned so openly... how was Sophie expected to resist? No one had been harmed. She had just added some flair to the kid's day. Really, if she had MISSED, she could've maybe set fire to his robes or something. So. Ella's boyfriend was lucky Sophie had aimed well despite his flailing the second time.

Pushing off the wall and making her way across the courtyard toward the school, the first year Ravenclaw felt electrified and powerful. What an awesome success that one had been. So maybe she hadn't efficiently boiled water, but she could apparently put a hole in a kid's shoe. THAT was pretty cool. She knew she could set things on fire, too, though, and as the thought crossed her mind, Sophie harnessed the sunlight shining down upon her, jabbed her wand, and murmured, "Solis Focalis!" With the magnifying glass extension aligned the way she wanted it, Sophie's beam struck a leaf on the ground with stunning accuracy, setting it aflame. Amused once again, she stomped on it cheerfully, twirled her wand in her hand, and meandered into the school, incredibly pleased with her wandwork for the day.

Hogwarts was so cool.

"It's a good thing that you aren't" Disappointment was a very sucky thing. He was a confident little thing wasn't he? "Being confident is always nice." She thought that it was a waste as far as he was concerned, but that little bubble of his would burst soon enough. "No, I'm not." She had strongly considered trying out this term, but decided against it at the lat minute. "I have never tried out." She was sure that if she were on the team that they would win hands down. "Are you a Quidditch fan?" Quidditch was awesome. Maybe she would try out next year. It was better late than never right?

"Maybe someone is just a tad bit sensitive?" Hannah honestly wasn't being rude in her mind. Although if Adi wanted to see rude, she would be happy to show him. Then out of nowhere the puffer was laughing. She didn't remember saying anything funny. Did she miss something? Ahh... it was over her choosing worthy friends. "I don't know what's so funny about not hanging out with duffers." That was serious business, you know? "I'm better than the sorting hat when it comes to reading people." Oh yeah, she was full of herself. She definitely didn't need a dingy old hat to tell her who was worthy of her time.

Hufflepuffs were adorable? "That's definitely not the word I wuld use for you guys." She would keep that little word to herself for now. She was really curious to see where this was going to go. "Goody good doesn't even begin to cover hufflepuffs shortcomings." Did he want her to go therer with him? He didn't believe that anybody was perfect eh? "That's because you hadn't met me yet." Obviously!

Queen of Typos | The OTHER OTHER Roro | WICKED is Good

She wasn't out alone. Nope. She had Gemini with her. The fifth year liked when she took care of the cat for Elodie. And the hufflrpuff girl was nice enough to let her take him out for a while. The snake headed out to the grounds with the lazy cat in her arms. She walked slowly stroking him and scratching behind his ears.

Since BVW was with Lex this week, she had felt the need to be with a pet. And her owl was not an option. Psht. As if. The owl must always stay alone and unloved. Always!

With the cat still in her arms, she plopped down on one of the benches and let Gemini lay on her lap. When Elodie said he was lazy, she wasn't kidding or exaggerating. But Cassia was used to lazy cats. The five of her cats back at home were all lazy. And it was kind of cute.

She kept one had on the sleepy kitten and rested the other on the bench, leaning on it and looking up at the sky. It was surprisingly clear. She wondered if that would last. But loook, what was that!

Squinting her brown eyes, she retrieved the telescope from her bag, and peered through it. Pegasus! HAI! She was glad she had thought of bringing the telescope along.
