Default Spare Office

If you happen to try one of the doors near the end of the sixth floor corridor, you might just find yourself in a handsome (if not dusty and aged) office of a large size. The faint smell of crystallized pineapple seems to linger in the air of the room, which contains numerous side doors and nooks and crannies... all of which remain firmly locked.

Although the room is devoid of any office-like furniture, or any furniture at all, there is still an impressive, but faded, rug before the large fireplace and long mirror hanging over that to boot. The spare office is still a cool place to hang out, practice some wandwork, or do some light reading. Just don't linger too long; the office's famous owner was only fond of certain guests... and only as long as they didn't ask prying questions.

Swashbuckler? Aidan laughed. "I was thinking more along the lines of a knight, but pirates are cool, too." Pirates were swashbucklers. Knights were defenders of castles. "I think the swords are kind of different, too." But that was just a detail? Was he contradicting her too much? Was he contradicting her at all? He gave a wary look over to her to try and read her expression.

Then his worry disolved into a smile again. "I definitely wouldn't want to swashbuckle you too shreds." She was far too pretty for that. It would be a shame to lose a face like that around Hogwarts and he would never forgive himself for it. "And a wand would be cheating. But I'll definitely take you up on that." The game, it sounded fun. And another opportunity to hang out with Schuyler.

"I've been there," he said, "To New York. It was wicked!" All the noise and tall buildings and cars and food. He was only like seven or so when he went, but from the bits and pieces he remembered, it was awesome. And the feeling and emotion he associated with the memory was of excitement and happiness. "I'm from Bristol." ...England, obviously.

He watched Schuyler stand and go over to her music. Was it time to dance? It was far too early in the date to dance, right? They could push it back to...never, really. And it would still be too early.

He really didn't want to embarrass himself in front of her.
Schuyler giggled at the excitement that overcame him when she brought up the dino nuggets. It was the little things, yes? She thought so. "At least your mom let you have chicken nuggets! My mom never made them." Then again, her mom didn't really cook all that often. It was more the house elf doing the cooking and cleaning.

She smiled. And that had been her exact line of thinking, so they must have been right about that - the pirates and the knights and the terms used with each. "Yes, you seem more like the knight type." She nodded when he mentioned that the swords were different. "More curved, right?" The pirates probably were more sneaky about fighting, too, where knights were all honorable and fair and all. Anyway. Apart from knight and swords..

Kind of.

"Good!" she laughed. That he had no intention of 'swashbuckling her to shreds.' Otherwise that might be a fair problem. Ahaa, so he was keen on the idea of the game. In fact, Schuyler had just thought of another little twist for that game, but she simply smiled inwardly and kept it to herself. Surprises, right? Life was better with surprises.

He had been to New York? Another smile flashed across her face. Wicked was a cool way to put it. "I love it there," she added, missing it just because they were talking about it. On the other hand, she had come to like Hogwarts very much, and so she was fine with being away from the city for now. When he mentioned that he was from Bristol, she remarked, "I've heard of it, of course. But I've never been."

She clicked through a few more songs. Although she faced away from him, she called over her shoulder, "You know it's time to dance, right?" And she grinned. But no, none of these songs were good ones to start with. Aidan wasn't a dancer, or so he said. So he needed something kind of simple, right? Simple, but fun.

Ah ha. She paused on a song. Grin still present, she took off one shoe, then the other, before walking over to Aidan and grabbing both of his hands to pull him off that sofa. After a couple of steps backwards while she dragged him to the open area, she stopped and left him there before clicking the play button and returning. The new song that began playing from the speakers now was 'Crank That,' by Soulja Boy. It was an oldie, but fun. "Hip Hop is my favorite to dance to. It's so fun. I'll demo the chorus part because that's what you're going to learn. Then I'll show you, step by step.. okay?" Yes?

After a couple bouncing and snapping moves to kill the music until the dance part, Schuyler went ahead and danced the Crank That dance. It didn't take too long because the moves were pretty basic and it was repetitive throughout the song. "Got it?" heh. She knew he hadn't. Not yet, that is.

She moved so that she was beside him now so that he could start to learn. "All right, so first you stand like this.. feet shoulder width apart." As she was standing. "Now you hop and cross your feet so your right foot's in front." And she demonstrated. "Then hop back to that first position before hopping again, this time with your left foot in the front." Just as she did.

"Now you try."
