High up in the top-most reaches of the Castle is a tower dedicated to Ravenclaw House. You come across the entrance in the form of a door with no handle or lock but a single knocker shaped like the head of an eagle. If, and only if, you answer the riddle that the eagle presents you, you may gain entrance to the Ravenclaw Common Room. Hey, there's a reason that Ravenclaw is the house for those with brains.
Upon entering the Common Room you see a number of things but mostly you see the floor to ceiling windows that span around almost the entire curved room. Beyond their panes you can see what looks like all of Hogwarts' campus and the majestic mountain range beyond. One sweeping look through them and you can see the Forbidden Forest, Quidditch Pitch, The Greenhouses, the Black Lake, and even the shimmering light from the windows in Hogsmeade. At nighttime, the glass reveals the starry night beyond.
Placed on the center of the curved wall is a large fireplace with plenty of navy blue sofas and armchairs placed around it. They are there for students to lounge as they work on homework, socialize or just relax and enjoy the view between lessons. A crowded night in the Common Room for a party or rowdy game of Gobstones? Take a seat on the newly installed deep blue carpet.
Along the wall you entered there is the Announcements Board where all things will be posted regarding school events, lessons, and homework as well as the Study Tables that are provided for a more structured setting for Ravenclaws to do what Ravenclaws do best. The Grey Lady, the House ghost of Ravenclaw tends to visit this spot especially every now and then. And last but not least, to the right of where the impressive statue of Rowena Ravenclaw herself stands, is the staircase leading to the dormitories. Once you ascend these stairs, going to the right will take you to the ones allotted for the girls and the left will lead you to the ones reserved for the boys.
Come in, relax, have fun and make yourselves at home.
Welcome to Ravenclaw!
Schmoop appears in the common room with a large tray teetering over his head. "Ravenclawses!" Schmoop squeaks. "Schmoop brings cookies for the Ravenclawses! The Elvses is back and Schmoop brings cookies!" He wobbles a little under the weight of the tray.

Adrienne blinked in surprise as the house-elf pretty much appeared right before her eyes. It took her a moment to register that he was carrying an enormous tray of cookies, and as soon as she noticed properly she jumped into action. She snatched two straight off the top of his tray and then paused to make sure it was still stable- well, as stable as it could be when held up by the frail-looking arms of such a tiny elf.
"Thanks, euh, Schmoop." That was an awful name, gosh, the poor elf.

"Did I hear mention of cookies?" Benjy commented, as he emerged from the boys dorms. A grin crossed his face as he saw the House Elf under the tray of cookies. "Awesome job there, Schmoop. Let me relieve you of some of that weight..." He grabbed a handful off the top, before heading over to the sofa to enjoy them.
Munch. Munch. Munch.
"Delicious as always. Much appreciated to see you back."

Returning from the girls' dormitory with a package of Droobles in her hands, Sophie was pumped to carry out the rest of her adventures for the day. Life at Hogwarts was SUPER FUN and there were all sorts of cool people to meet!! She liked the Slytherins best, so far, but she had high hopes that the Ravenclaws would become nicer soon. She figured they all had some kind of I'm better than you complex that made it incapable for them to tolerate a first year who could give 'em a run for their money.
Sophie was fumbling with the top of the package, trying to get it open as she came down the stairs and began to cross the room. That's when she heard the house elf announce his arrival. It was a cute one, at that. With chocolate chip cookies. The best kind of house elf, really. "Well, aren't YOU a cutiepie. C'mere," Sophie said, pocketing the package and holding her arms out to him, wanting to pick him up and cradle the little guy in her arms like a baby. "Your name is Schmoop? That's funny." She paused. "Short for Schmoopsie-poo?" She giggled at that. Funny name. Vaguely familiar, when she thought about it... had one of her family members mentioned him? Or had she read about him? She couldn't figure it out, but she wiggled her fingers earnestly at the house elf, REALLY REALLY REALLY wanting to cradle him and carry him around. And take the entire tray of cookies with them.

Face buried in his hands, Aidan took a few calming breaths. Not that they were relaxing, though, as the scene in the luggage compartment replayed through his head, and he heard all over again all the words that were exchanged. "She wouldn't admit to admitting what she told me." That she liked him. "So I reminded her of it...in front of other people..." The thought that he embarrassed her didn't come to mind. Just that he neglected to keep that business as private as he realized now, he probably should have. "AndIcalledherarubbishfriend."
And that was it. So their friendship was probably over now.
"You know," Dora finally said after listening to him and watching all of his motions. "It's not easy for her. She didn't chose this, it just happened. The fact that you said it in front of others probably humiliated her, Aidan." Was he even aware of this? She frowned at her friend thoughtfully. "And calling her a rubbish friend just hurt her." Alexa was a tough little gryffindor, but even she was capable of being hurt and embarrassed, especially at the hands of one of her best friends.
The fifth year moved to the floor, directly in front of the seat he was occupying beside her abandoned one and tried to grab his attention. "That wasn't a talk you had with her, that was you being frustrated. Get all that frustration out of you before you go talk to her again. Because you should talk to her again, more civilized. She's your friend, she's worth it." Dora wasn't going to tell him what to say to her, but he did need to at least talk to her more like she was his best friend and not some stalker chick.

Aidan sat, mouth gaping, speechless at Dora. Because...well...she was very likely right. Although, you know, HE was humiliated too. And Lex WAS a rubbish friend for breaking the 'friendship' barrier. And Lottie was definitely a rubbish friend. Not that she was ever a good one to him, but after their trip to Diagon he thought things would be looking up.
He was wrong.
He couldn't argue about Dora's next point, either. Because he KNEW he was frustrated. He still thought that was considered a talk, but fine. "Fine. But that's not avoiding." He'll take time to get his frustration out before talking to her again. Don't go saying he was avoiding things, though, Dora. He didn't want to hear that ever again. It really wasn't true. Maybe that was what he was doing all along, anyway.

Dora was taking his silence as acceptance that she was right, but that meant NOTHING if he wouldn't listen to her. And Dora wasn't all too sure that he would considering how stubborn and thick headed he was being.
"No, we'll call it taking a break." Or something. She didn't care really so long as he talked to her after getting all of his angst. Sitting back she watched him and let out a loooong sigh. "And I promise not to hex you next time."

'Taking a break'. Yes. That was exactly what he was doing in the first place, Dora. Taking a break from Lex. Not talking to her. Not seeing her. Not going anywhere near her. For....well, he was playing with the idea of forever.
Aidan hung his head for a few moments, letting everything sink in. Because he WAS listening, Dora, okay? Also, because he was tired and ready for bed and emotionally exhausted. But he lifted his head back up to say, "That would be appreciated." He was completely serious. No more hexing. No more embarrassing him in front of the new girls and first years. Pretty please.

She would have to try really REALLY hard not to hex him again, if he was still going to be acting like this. At least she'd managed not to call him anything offensive while they talked, this was improvement on both parts she thought.
"Okay, I'm done." He could go now if he wanted, she had writing and reading to get back to. Not to mention people waiting for her back in the dorms.

He gave a slow nod of his head. That lecture wasn't terrible, actually. A waste of time. An interruption in his plans. But he wasn't yelled at nearly as badly as he thought he would be. So it was fine.
Aidan really shouldn't be giving Dora the power to sit him down and talk at him. Although...the hex was evidence that he apparently didn't have a say in it. But since she was done, and had dismissed him properly, he got up to go to his dorm with a low, "Night, Dora," and bro!nod in Mo's direction.
Now he could continue about his business of moping and 'being frustrated', as Dora called it, alone.

The studentsies were happy with the cookies! Schmoop beamed at all of them. He was a happy elf.
"Schmoop is happy to be back! Does the Ravenclawses need anything else from Schmoop?" Schmoop would be happy to help! Schmoop wanted to do as much for the Ravenclawses as he could. Schmoop had a lot of making up to do for being gone from them last year.
That one Ravenclaw Schmoop wasn't sure about. But she told him to come and Schmoop wasn't going to disobey. No. Schmoop was a good elf. He was happy to be back and taking orders from Ravenclawses. Schmoop took a couple nervous steps toward her outstretched arms. "No, Missus. Schmoop is just Schmoop."

Cookies?
Coming out of her dorm and making her way down to the Great Hall for lunch, Charlie was interrupted by the smell of cookies. Stomach already rumbling, it increased in intensity as she got nearer the plate, which was at about her stomach level. Fitting. Smiling at the other students, she plucked a cookie off the plate and smiled down at the elf.
"I don't need anything, but can I get this recipe?" Because these were the nicest cookies she'd tasted. She was jealous. Pout.

"A huuuuuuug." Sophie nodded encouragingly as the house elf came toward her outstretched arms. She took a cookie from his plate, put it in her mouth, then scooped up the little guy and hugged him nicely.
Nuzzle, nuzzle.
"You'a cutie. I like you," she spoke through a mouthful of sugary goodness. And though she wanted to run from the common room with him and go find Cat to show her how darling he was and eat his cookies the whole way, she set Schmoop down gently and BEAMED at him. Other students were coming to talk to him and take his cookies, too, so she would let him keep being the bearer of joy.
"Thanks for the cookie...s," the girl said brightly, taking another from his plate after a moment's hesitation. Then one more. She WOULD go tell Cat about this and deliver a cookie to her."See ya." Upon shoving another cookie into her mouth, she wandered toward the door to find Cat.
And she had FINALLY gotten the feeling back in her fingers as she had cast MULTIPLE warming charms on herself as she made her way back from the pitch. That Prefect boy had HIT A BLUDGER AT HER HEAD. When she didn't have a bat to protect herself. It was... RUDE.
But oh well. She had shown him. He was just a LITTLE quicker than her in today's practice though. Not to worry. He was on her LIST now. List of people who had it coming.
Whatever it was.
And she would beat him at quidditch... or he might die trying. Heh.
That brought a smile to her face as she plopped down in front of the fireplace and extended her hands toward the flames. And NO. She had not listened to her captain when he told her to hit the showers. So here she sat... sweaty, dirty, and ragey. Hmph.

Taylor came up to the common room, brushing her long blonde curls after taking a shower to get the grime of practice off her... as well as to get a little warmth. Tay was about to go up to the dorm and maybe do some homework but she saw that girl... Kalla? She couldnt help but stop by her and smile, "Hey... good job at practice..." Taylor debated on checking her broom for any damage from the bludger... not that she havent done it like 2 or 3 times already... Tay finished brushing her hair after putting her stuff down on the floor. She threw her curls in a ponytail again and smiled. Taylor stretched a little to make sure that the practice wouldnt make her sore. "Mind if i join ya?" She gestured.
Kalla looked up and deadpanned. She didn't know this girl's name off the top of her head. What had Mo called her? Something with a T? She would call her blonde. Merlin she had a mop of blonde curls didn't she?
And she barely disguised the horror of being asked if Blondie could join her. She was going to have to socialize? Where was her inhaler? Oh right... she didn't have one. WHEEZE.
Kalla opened her mouth to speak, but ended up merely nodding as she pulled her hands away from the fire... and then sat on them. "Thanks. You're not terrible." At quidditch. She had NO idea how she was as a person. She would save that judgement for later. Mhm.
"What is that Prefect's name again? The Beater?" Kalla was TERRIBLE with names. Like all the time. It was a curse. And yeah maybe she would write his name DOWN somewhere. Then she's never forget it? No she'd forget and she'd lost the piece of paper she wrote it on. Whatever.

Tay eyed her and was about to ask if she was okay when she began to speak. Taylor gave a slight smile, "Thanks..." Taylor tilted her head, "Ummmm... oh... you mean Nigel?" She fiddled with one of her curls and watched her. "With the way you two were going after each other, I would have thought you knew each other and were mortal enemies or something." Tay giggled and smiled, "I dont think we officially met yet... I'm Taylor but almost everyone calls me Tay... you are... Kalla... right? I think that is what Mo said anyways..." She blushed, "Because you aint Sophie... Im sure on that since I met Sophie..." She nodded and then laughed, looking at her and realizing that she needs to shut up so Taylor grew silent again.

"I have met him. He is now my nemesis. But I am horrible with names. So don't take offense if I can't remember yours, Taylor." Just FYI and all.
And Kalla shifted her gaze back to the flames and kicked her shoes off. Bah. Stupid cold Scotland with its stupid cold seasons.
AAAAACCCCHHHHOOOOOOOO!
Oh Merlin, no. Kalla covered her mouth and nose as she let out the ridiculous sneeze. SHE HAD BETTER NOT GET SICK BECAUSE OF PRACTICE.
"Sophie is the little one? She's not terrible either." Just saying.

Tay glanced at her, ”Oh…. So you two are nemesises… may I ask why? Horrid with names? Okay…” Taylor laughed and nodded, ”I shall remember that…” She glanced away until she heard the sneeze. Tay couldn’t help but scramble back at it. Taylor blushed, ”Sorry… are you okay? Feeling sick?” She frowned lightly and sighed. Tay tilted her head then nodded as she asked the question, ”Yep, that is Sophie… She is an awesome player.” She beamed as she thought of the little eagle. ”She is good at Charms too.” Taylor smiled as she thought about the time they did Charms homework together and giggled a little. ”I have to remember to get her a pie soon…” Tay didn’t realized that she said it out loud. She messed with her hair and had a sweet smile then glanced back at the girl, ”So what year are ya in? Favorite class? Favorite professor? Favorite Color? Annnnnd if you could be any animal, what animal would you be? Go!” Taylor laughed and smiled, giving the girl a kind smile, ”Sorry for the interrogation… I just want to know a little about the one who almost killed Sophie and me.” Tay winked at her and laughed. ”Nah, I want to know more about our team… knowing your team is good, no?” She plopped down next to the girl but then scooted a little closer to the fire but not blocking the girl from the fire, of course. Some of the curls got loose and so they fell down into her face a little as she tilted her face toward the fire. Taylor began to grow silent as thoughts of Nash came into her mind. Tay smiled and sighed happily at the though and brushed the curls back without thinking about it, showing the love in her smile as she drew a heart shape with ‘N + T’ in it with her finger on the floor. Taylor glanced at the space for a few seconds, knowing perfectly well that it wasn’t really there.

Wow...
This one talked a lot. And asked a LOT of questions. Kalla sat staring at her for a long moment, mouth slightly agape. Seriously? Was she SERIOUS? Kalla was feeling a little overwhelmed with all the CHATTING that was going on. In fact, she buried her face in the sofa so she could catch her breath...
"He was faster than me at quidditch. He's my nemesis." Simple enough. Was she okay? Was she feeling sick? YES. YES KALLA FELT LIKE PUKING ON THIS GIRL. And yeah, Kalla wiped her nose slightly on the sofa cushion and sat back up straight. Merlin's pants.
UH. WHAT THE? Was this some magical version of 20 questions? HUH? Taking a deep breath Kalla looked at the girl, a slight scowl in place. "I am a sixth year. I don't particularly care for any of the classes. I think all of the professors are sub par compared to my tutors. Black. Although most would argue that it's not a color. So in that case I choose purple. But like... a DARK purple. And humans are animals in the grand scheme of things. So your final question was rather redundant." And NO. She did NOT say things in rapid fire. She put some thought into the questions and spoike slowly and deliberately. Mhm.
And was knowing their team really a good thing? "Will it really change anything about the game if any of us gets to know the other one better?" I mean... come on. Would it?
And no, Kalla was NOT going to comment on the heart and the letters. She figured it was some girly thing that the blonde thing was doing. And she wanted no part of that. Ever. She just wanted a pack mule to carry her things down all those stairs. Mhm.

After Nigel had rescued her from the pitch, he'd been the perfect gentleman and had helped her up the many flights of stairs and along corridors to their common room. Because she wasn't one to miss opportunities, Ves had proceeded to cling to him the entire way there...because she could...and because her leg had kinda forced her to. The trip up...had made something even more clear to the Ravenclaw, though...Something quite useful. Being close to a boy you liked...in that way...was different than being close to other boys. Of course, Nigel didn't know anything, being a boy and not very observant, but Ves had quickly decided she liked being close to him...and had nearly fainted from the whole thing.
INCLUDING all the lame girly crying she'd been doing...
Once she'd gotten comfortable on the couch, Nigel had disappeared...but Ves didn't mind that. Her leg hadn't stopped being a thing...and she'd embarrassed herself enough in front of him for one day. There was always tomorrow....
Now...all she needed was a Dora....and her notebook...

Slytherin had lost.
Which was sort of bittersweet considering her house was the one they'd lost to. But her second favorite house had lost. And her boyfriend was not taking it well, as to be expected. So Dora had some cheering up to do before she was able to make it to her common room. And she had taken her tiiiiiiiime cheering him up before making it back to see to her housemates.
Namely one dorm-mate that had been injured.
Dora's hazel eyes instantly started roaming the common room, though her legs didn't slow down their trip to the dorms until she'd spotted Vesper sitting on the couch. She made a beeline for the other girl and sat on the floor by her leg, inspecting it. "Healer see to this?" Didn't look it.
Her gaze flicked up to the girl. "I think I missed how you got up here."

Ves had no way of reaching her notebook...and by that, she meant she didn't have any means of going upstairs...So, she'd been forced to sit and wait. If she knew Dora, her dormmate would be up sooner rather than later. Of course, Theodore had needed her after the match...and because the Ravenclaw knew nothing about girlfriend/boyfriend relationships, she assumed that was normal. The comforting thing.
When Dora popped up moments later, Vesper tried to smile at her...but only managed a grimace. At least she'd stopped the ridiculous crying, anyway. "Nigel helped me up here." Yes, another blush accompanied that admission. "....and I didn't go to the Healer at all."
...Not that she didn't think the Healer was a good one. Vesper just didn't know her.

"That was nice of him." No, really she meant it. Nigel was a good friend, and very helpful. She'd noticed the blush, but as usual she didn't comment for reasons. Her thoughtful gaze simply turned back to the leg as she flicked her wrist, wand sliding into her hand neatly. "I've never been to her, but West says she's really good." Which meant something. In case she ever did need to go.
Dora touched the leg with her free hand to do a brief physical inspection, just to be certain while her wand raised to the dorm's entrance. "Accio velvet bag." While she waited for that, she aimed her wand back at the leg and murmured healing spells to fix what was wrong with her friends leg. "You played great, you know." Her eyes never left the leg as she let her spells do it's work. "Won the match and only came away with one injury." In her mind that was something considering the injuries her friends had in the past.
"And got a pretty boy to carry you up to the common room. Not a bad birthday." Dora finally looked up to shot Vesper a grin before turning her attention to the red velvet bag flying in her direction.
