Pumpkin juice, lemonade, crustless cucumber, ham and cheese, and turkey sandwiches, grapes, apple and orange wedges, and of course, all of your favourite desserts snacks, are all packed inside baskets and ready to go! There are no chairs or tables, of course, so colourful blankets are laid on the grass for for everyone to sit on. Eat up and enjoy! There's plenty of baskets to go around.

SPOILER!!: Boyfriend!

NO SPINACH. Ham and cheese... and turkey! "Sounds great!" Probably not as great as BLT sandwiches but tons better than... spinach-y. Something sweet for dessert? "Did you manage to tell the person making the food to include gummy worms?" She DID seem to know everything that was in here, though. Smart Bishop was smart.
... And... it turned out that she was sneaky enough to know what to use against him. His eyes widened a little as they followed the movement of her hair. ... Right. Yeah. She was talking. FOCUS. "I... I was going to come there later, I think. How are things over there?" he asked, trying his hardest not to look over at her hair again. SO BLONDE.
"No... think you want to picnic together?" he asked, watching as she took hold of a random basket. Were they meant to share the basket or... one each?
She'd totally scared him. She wasn't going to brag, though, because boyfriend had a really good point. Ella smiled up at him before standing on her tippy toes and kissing him quickly. More kissing would have been nice but she knew how the Headmistress felt about PDA and she definitely didn't want to upset that fiesty red head.
The amazing thing about the elves was that whether they were making a steak or a simple sandwich, it always tasted delicious. Ella's face fell a bit at the mention of gummy worms, though. "I completely forgot to do that." Frowny girlfriend was frowny. "I could always have some later, I s'pose." And it wasn't like she had a shortage of them in her trunk or anything so she needed to stop the pouting...in a minute.
Staring was happening. Staring and in turn, lots of blushing. Ella tried very hard not to bite her lip, which would have normally been her next move, and instead focused on the sound of Alec's voice. Bumper brooms? "Things are good over there. Erm...Professor Tyner and Lex were playing, actually. Maybe you can try later too." She thought he might like it considering how much he liked to fly. Plus bumper brooms reminded her of a certain birthday carnival and she thought it might be nice to do something like that again.
"I'd like that." The picnicking together thing. "We can share this, then? And...that blue blanket is free." He liked blue, yeah? Ella smiled a little and took one hand off the handle, slipping it into his hand instead.

There wasn't enough boredom in the world to have her over there with the Gaston boy, even if he was pretty. He came off as a prick. Penelope though, she was interesting and all. Dora sidled up to her casually, peering at the basket behind shaded eyes. "You suppose they all have the same things in them?"
It seemed like as soon as she'd picked up her own basket, one of the Beauxbatons guys was there and a bunch of girls she knew followed. And were yelling about something. Penelope had no idea what was going on though, so she preferred to stay out of it. The first girl that arrived, who also seemed to not be a part of that crowd, she offered a smile to, especially since she was wearing a pretty cool shirt. It had a taco on it, so Penelope definitely approved.
And then Dora appeared next to her. She considered the question for a couple seconds then shrugged. "Probably. I would think the elves would keep it all fair and stuff." It was the elves that would've set these up, right? Probably. "You could grab one and then we can compare to check though." And if they had stuff the other didn't, they could share. Dora was cool, so Penelope supposed she'd be willing to share some food with her.

So... they could just... sail past the fact that he had been scared by someone he was meant to be dating, yeah? Yeah. Awesome. What was even more awesome was the way she kissed him quickly, standing up on her tiptoes to do so. Their height difference really was a problem, wasn't it? "Much better!" GRIN.
... Uh oh. Alec was... just going to brush off the fact that Ella NoMiddleName Bishop had forgotten about gummy worms. Why? Because she was frowny and... there was no way he should be letting that happen, yeah? He nudged her gently and smiled before saying, "You're right, you could have some later, yeah?" Don't be frowny, girlfriend. ... Pause. "Do you have enough gummy worms, by the way?" Hadn't she ended up running out by the end of the last term?
He took a mental note of the blushing that was going on but said nothing about it. Also. It was a REALLY GOOD THING that the girl hadn't started biting her lip, which was another thing she liked to do that made him stare. ... Wait. "Tyner and Candy Girl?" Tyner knew that Candy Girl was a beast out on the pitch, right? Really. He was glad she hadn't been a Beater when they were up against each other. "It sounds like it's fun. ... I... maybe? But I don't think I'd have the heart to knock Tyner or Candy Girl off of their brooms." Or anyone. This... was a problem.
"Awesome! Good choice on the blanket," Blue, you know. ... The hand holding? Grinning, the boy squeezed her hand a little before leading her over towards the blue blanket. Reaching the spot, he let go of her hand and straightened out the blanket a little before taking a seat. Pat pat. She was going to join him, yeah?

Smiling sheepishly, Ella pressed her nose to his quickly before lowering back down to her normal height. Short badger was short. At least Alec didn't seem to mind. She supposed that was the bright side.
The nudging helped and Ella dropped the frown, nudging the hair whipper back gently. "Yeah...and I wouldn't mind sharing with you." Because he always knew how to make her feel better and it was impossible not to smile around this boy. How did he manage to do that, anyway? It was his own special type of magic, it seemed. "I've got more than enough, yeah." And she smiled a little at him. "Thanks for checking."
Candy Girl. It was kind of sweet no pun intended the way Alec called Lex that. Ella nodded enthusiastically and brightened up a bit at the subject of flying. "It is fun and you're sweet but it's sort of like bumper cars, yeah?" And he didn't seem to have a problem driving into hers if she was remembering things correctly. "Besides, the ground is all spongy and completely safe." So no worrying, boyfriend. Everyone who fell would be completely fine. Pinky promise.
"I figured you'd like it," she said sheepishly. It was sort of amazing how much she knew about him now. Ella looked down at their hands and smiled really wide as he led her over to the blanket, squeezing his hand back. She loved this, y'know. Her smile faltered a bit when he dropped her hand but she quickly recovered, realizing it was time to eat.
Placing the basket carefully down, the blonde then flopped gracefully next to Alec and smiled at him. "You want to do the honors?" Those being opening the picnic basket first. It was a big deal, that was.

Alec wrinkled his nose a little when she pressed it against his. ... Right. Yeah. There were other people here. He should... probably remember this fact more often when he was around this girl.
The frown was gone! SUCCESS! "You sure? I get to have some of the limey-ness?" Limey... he remembered that. Limey gummy worms in oreo ice cream. He wasn't sure about Ells, but that was a combination he hadn't had in a while. Maybe that needed to be changed. "Good because..." There was no need for a because. "... you seemed really flustered last year when you didn't have any. And anytime!" Wasn't it his job to check up on these things? Boyfriend Handbook? No?
A bit like bumper cars... "Bumper cars are awesome!" And yes, he did remember that incident all those years ago where he purposefully drove his bumper car into hers. Ah, the good old days. ... Spongy ground? Completely safe? "I... that doesn't sound bad when you put it like that..." He'd still feel bad but... he wouldn't mention that. "I hope more people turn up." It probably wouldn't be fun with just... what? Three people there? Four, if he joined in?
... WHOA. Hold on there. "How did you know that I'd like it?" he asked, tilting his head and furrowing his eyebrows. After all this time, it probably shouldn't come as a surprise when the girl knew the little things about him -- like the fact that he couldn't crack open an egg even if his life depended on it -- but... this? Had he even mentioned this before or...?
Graceful girlfriend was graceful. "You look great, by the way," In case she didn't know. "Erm... sure! Yeah! Let's see..." He pulled the basket closer towards him and opened it wide enough for him to fit his hand inside. "... first thing to eat..."Rummage rummage... AHA! His hand closed around something and pulled it out.

"There's no fairness in feeding, there's only survival." Truth. Or humor. Probably the last one. Dora picked up one of the baskets at random and gave it a small shake. "That sounds like something our elves would do, still I hope they'll surprise us one day. Let's try your idea and find out if today's that day." She would... do something with all the food. Eat it or something.
And naturally she took the lead, sitting them away from the beauxbaton boy and all the ruckus to a spot where they could observe everything around them. "You know, while I'm not dreaming of summer, I sure am ready for it." She sat cross-legged and placed her basket in front of her. "We can start with an item from your basket."

Maybe there was some truth in the humor somewhere. Penelope considered it for a moment then shrugged. "Maybe. The elves live on the same floor as the Hufflepuffs though, and they're all about fairness." Which wasn't a bad thing, of course. But maybe it could have rubbed off on the elves? Or maybe not. They would see, it seemed.
She let Dora lead the way to wherever she wanted to sit then took the spot next to her, tucking her legs under her so she could sit on them. Possibly one of the few disadvantages to wearing a dress, but she didn't mind. "Same. Especially since it'll means OWLs will be over with." This Gryffindor was tired of studying and practicing spells. She just wanted the exams over and done with by this point.
Her basket first? That was fine with her.
Penelope opened her basket and pulled out the first thing she saw. "Looks like...a turkey sandwich." Simple but still delicious. And now it was Dora's turn.

... Pause. "You want to start with dessert?"
Other people, right. Ella was just going to inch away from the boyfriend now. Not too far but a safe enough distance so that wanting to kiss him would be a bit harder for her to manage. Safer that way. Mhm. It was his own fault, really. He was the one who insisted on being so adorable.
Limey. Ella grinned at him and nudged him gently. "I don't mind sharing those with you." He should feel pretty special, actually. Not everyone got to share her favorite gummy worm flavor with her. She usually just handed out colors like orange or red, ones she was less crazy about. Green ones were saved for her favorites. "I...did, didn't I?" That was probably the silliest thing on earth to get flustered over and she felt sort of ridiculous that he'd noticed that. "It's just comfort food, I guess."
Bumper cars are awesome. Enthusiastic nodding was happening because Ella agreed completely. It'd been a while since she'd been on them but she enjoyed the rush of crashing into someone else and knowing they wouldn't be hurt because of it. All in good fun, they were. Just like the bumper brooms. "It's not bad at all." Grin! "And I hope so too." Though Ella planned on flying around whether people showed up or not.
Had she...said something wrong? Ella bit her lip and shrugged, wondering if she should have kept the fact that she knew this to herself. He seemed... kind of freaked out by it? Or more confused, maybe? "I...don't know? I guess I just sort of noticed that about you. I..." Shrug. "Is that really weird?"
Compliments were causing blushing and Ella didn't bother hiding it this time. She was beginning to suspect the boy did this kind of thing on purpose, actually. "I...thank you. You look nice too." Per usual. He got a big smile too for reasons. And then food was happening and Ella watched Alec curiously, wondering what he'd choose for them.

... Yeah... now she was standing too far. Not that far but it was still a little too far for the boy's tastes. Alec looked over at her and started eyeing up the distance between then with a small frown. He then looked at her and widened his eyes a little. Puppy!dog eyes for you, Ella Bishop.
"I feel special," GRIN. Because of the emphasis on the 'you'. And he knew how much the girl loved gummy worms. It's what brought about the occasional not-so-original nickname from him. But this also meant that he needed to find one of his favourites to share with her. Something that wasn't... you know... Superman. "Yeah, you did," Was he meant to remind her of this...? Alec nudged her gently before saying, "It's not a bad thing, yeah? I mean... it's nice how much you care." About gummy worms too. Nodnod.
This talk about bumper cars... gave the boy ideas. Ideas that they probably couldn't carry out until they managed to get into the room of requirement. Unless... "Hey, do you... think there'll be any carnivals around this summer?" There were fairs, sure, but carnivals? Alec... had no idea. "Is it hard? Managing a... erm... stall? Activity area?" ... Stop talking? Brilliant idea.
Alec was... very intrigued by this new bought of information. Or the fact that she knew these things. Was he that obvious...? "Really?" He fiddled with the edge of the blanket for a bit, a sheepish expression crossing his face, before looking back over at her. "Not... weird, no. It's really great! I just... Of COURSE the seventeen year old did this on purpose. It was all because of the blushing. That was an indication that he was doing something right and... well... the blushing looked great on her, even if she hated it. "Anytime! ... I..." He glanced down at his outfit quickly before smiling. "Thanks?" Casual. He was actually a little surprised that more people hadn't come wearing converses.
"Awesome!" he said, holding out the chocolate éclair and apple wedge towards her. ... Maybe... apples weren't exactly what you'd call a 'dessert'.

"This is true." In that respect the Hufflepuffs were lucky, to be so close to the kitchens should the feel the need for a late night snack. But that was it really. "Not all Hufflepuffs are about fairness though." Not all of the one's she'd met at least.
Oh, OWLs. Dora didn't actually have much care or concern for those, but she'd noticed nearly everyone stressing over them and tried to avoid it all whenever she could. "OWLs and the school year in general. Which ones are you taking?" She was slightly curious. Watching Penelope, she was uninterested in the turkey sandwich, and strongly hoped her own basket had something better.
Dora opened her basket and glanced around until she found her own sandwich. She pulled it out and made a disappointed face. "Same." Placing it to the side she reached back in and pulled out a small bag of sliced fruit. "I could eat this..."

Oh. No. He. Didn't.
First the frowning and then the puppy!dog eyes. Seriously, Summers? Ella's own eyes widened and she shook her head at him, knowing he knew how unfair this was. She was a sucker for those eyes. "Quit it," She whispered as she shuffled over and wrapped her arms around him, hugging him briefly. She might have been smiling a bit too despite herself. "You win."
"You are special." Top seeker, representative for Hogwarts, well liked by most everyone...that screamed special to Ella. And it was also pretty special to be able to make something as silly as caring about gummy worms seem like a positive attribute. The blonde smiled a little and shrugged. "If you say so." She'd take his word for it.
Carnivals? Grin! "I don't know but we could look it up? It'd be nice if we could find one nearby." She'd always liked them, especially the Ferris wheels. There was something really cool about being up that high and being able to see all the carnival lights from that vantage point. She smiled a little just thinking about it. Alec's question broke her reverie and she look at him sheepishly, trying to work out what he'd asked. Something...about stalls? OH! "Not too hard. I mean, you sort of just try and make sure no one gets hurt and everyone is having fun." And following the rules. That was important too.
She felt a bit better about things now and Ella smiled a little, playing with the hem of her dress absently. "Well now you know?" And she was allowed to know the little things, right? Girlfriends should know this kind of stuff. It had to be in the handbook somewhere.
"You're welcome." It was true even if he didn't think so. Alec always looked nice. Something about his face complimenting any outfit. His hair too. It all just worked.
The chocolate éclair was taken and the boyfriend got a GRIN because that was a solid choice. Apple wedges were good too and she couldn't exactly refuse them so she took one and placed it on her knee for later. See? She liked what he'd picked out. "Thanks! It looks good, doesn't it?" NOM!

Mhm, that was true too. It was unlikely that everyone in whatever house they were in shared all the exact same traits or were all alike. Even if it was supposed to be a general house trait. So she shrugged.
Penelope set the turkey sandwich down as Dora asked about her OWLs. "Defence, Potions, Charms, Transfiguration, and Herbology are the ones I really need to take. Might still take a couple more though, like Creatures and Muggle Studies maybe." She wasn't entirely sure yet...though it was looking like she probably would. She'd made sure to study for a few extra than her required ones for the Auror stuff, just in case. "You?"
It looked like she also had a turkey sandwich, and some fruit. Hmm... Penelope looked into her own basket...and pulled out another sandwich. "This one's ham and cheese." At least there was a little variety? "Oh, and looks like I've got this as well," she added as she pulled out her own bag of sliced fruit and grapes.

Quit it? That wasn't happening anytime soon because... look at what just happened! Hugs! Grinning, he hugged her back, squeezing her a little. "I'm really glad!" Mainly because of the hug. Did she know that that was what he was going for...?
She had to say those three words. Not... the ones that talked about love, but a certain other three words that... made him grin sheepishly. And ruffle his hair. There was lots of that going on, too. "You're doing it again, Gummy Worms Girl." She was probably doing this on purpose, too. Sneaky girlfriend. "Yeah, I do."
Look it up? Alec nodded enthusiastically at that suggestion. "That sounds like a great idea! And... yeah. Yeah, it would be," ... Pause. "Has Caleb been to one before?" Or... would the boy end up feeling like a third wheel? Questions, questions. ... Try... and make sure no one gets hurt. He shook his head. "I don't know how you do it." And not just her... everyone. Student leaders. ALL of them.
Sigh. SIGH. Fiddling with her dress, the girlfriend was. Alec... ruffled his hair and looked away, trying his hardest to concentrate on the food and the basket instead. This was going to be added to the list of things the girl should NOT do. Ever. "Yeah... I do," Still looking away. Food. Basket. No distractions.
Now it was his turn to be sheepish and grin to himself and fiddle with his own hair. He grinned over at her, too, before looking back at the basket. "Yeah, it does!" he said, reaching into the basket to pull out a chocolate éclair for himself too, "The house elves make really awesome food!" If only he had even half of their talent.

"I bet." Of course he was glad, his plan had worked perfectly. Ella wasn't going to complain, though. Super hugs were happening and those were her favorite. Maybe puppy!dog eyes weren't so evil after all.
She really liked that nickname, did he know? And the smiling and hair ruffling was adorable. Ella just sort of took a second or more to watch him, this stupid smile playing on her lips. "The making you love me more thing?" Now it was her turn to be sheepish. "You're doing it too." So maybe that made them even? In any case, Ella reached over and gave his hand a squeeze just cause. It was nice being here with him. Better than bumper brooms any day.
"Caleb?" He wanted to bring Caleb along? That was...probably the sweetest thing ever. With everything going on at home, Ells was sure her little brother could use some fun. "Only when he was very small. I think he'd probably love to go to one with you, y'know." Alec being his hero and all. The little guy thought the hair ruffler was the coolest ever. As for the student leadering thing, Ella shrugged and smiled. "It's not too bad, especially when you've got lots of help."
Eyebrows were raised because the boyfriend was avoiding her gaze and Ella didn't really understand why. "You okay, Alec?" Maybe he was just really hungry. Maybe.
Smiley boyfriend was smiley and that was the best thing ever. Ella liked it best when Alec was happy. And so the blonde smiled back, nodding along with what he was saying. "They work really hard on everything, the elves. I wish there was a way to repay them, y'know?" It was just something to think about while they ate. Speaking of, this éclair was ridiculously good. "Mmm."

With a slightly different love potion hidden in his jacket pocket, Gaston made his way towards the grounds. He looked around for a while, even interacted with a few people girls here and there and then eventually got to his last 'task'. The sixteen year old neared the picnic area and then headed towards the picnic baskets. He wished it were a served table instead and heaved a quiet sigh because this would make things just a bit more difficult. But he wouldn't stop, he never gave up.
He opened a basket and took out the small bottle of potion whilst making sure nobody and that meant nobody was watching him. He poured a few drops of the potion into the lemonade of the basket as well as the pumpkin juice. He then closed the basket and repeated the process with a few more baskets still making sure no-one was watching.
Now this potion was slightly different to the first, he had managed to found one that would make him much less suspicious. When this potion was consumed the drinker fell in love with the first person they laid eyes on rather than the actual giver of the potion. And this would be perfect to get any suspicious eyes off him.
So...where was the love?

"Potions is my best subject. I have my own personal potions lab at home and my mother is the head potioneer at Hirondelle. I know how a simple Amortentia works. You brewed it. And you tainted the sweets with it." And even if she was clueless about potions, it was all too coincidental.
What? He promises? Claudette didn't even bother to fight the imminent eyeroll. "And we are just supposed to trust your word?" Right. Like that was going to happen. And then she glared some more. "You should feel disgraced. What you did was vile and despicable." And he still hadn't given her a valid reason for not hexing him yet. He should feel lucky she was even letting him speak and allowing him his say.
OH NO HE DIDN'T.
He was not seriously walking away just now. "Where do you think you're going?" she raged at his retreating back as she felt her blood boiling. "Get back here, we aren't through with you." She pointed her wand and cast a Bat Bogey Hex directly at him as she stalked off towards him. "You messed with the wrong person," she said through gritted teeth. "I am going back to Beauxbatons next term.. I will be haunting your every footstep until I feel like you've made up for my humiliation."

Those students didn't know how to act in public. Rude and stuck up, that's how they'd been this whole time. Alexa was a sociable girl but even she had her limits and they had reached it.
Today she would be looking for her friends. If she couldn't find them she'd go looking for random Hogwartians. Anyone but them. The Gryffindor wasn't interested in talking to them anymore.
Lex walked over to the picnic area, ready to grab a basket and help herself to the entire thing on her own...unless of course her friends showed up, when she spotted both Min and Claudette using forceful language--and hey, wand jabbing. At first, she had no idea who'd been so unfortunate but then she heard the voice and the figure came into view the moment he'd taken his seat away from the two. Him.
Hexes where being cast and they weren't by her.....YET. "Bet you thought you'd get away with it, huh?" Lex asked, stalking over to him in stride with Claudette. Without warning she kicked at the basket of food he had.
His face would be next.

It took a few seconds for it to register and she had already started on the food. "No.. no Thank Merlin no. Could you even imagine how bad that would have been if I would have eaten any of that." She glanced at the food, "I agree that's why I want him away from it, but do you think he already did something." She glanced at the food, maybe she needed to get a professor here.
Before she could think of that again Gaston was going off, "Are you kidding.." She didn't get to finish Claudette was already started on him about how much of an idiot he really was thinking they would fall for someone else did the love potion. If someone else would have done it the girls would not have been super in love with Gaston like they were. "Gosh you are so full of yourself aren't you." She was agreeing with everything Claudette was saying, but she blinked when she heard Claudette send a hex at the boy.
Now she was torn, "Claudette be careful. You don't want to land yourself in one of those horrid detentions over this jerk." She wanted to see this guy hexed into next week, but she was a student leader and had to keep order at the same time. She probably would look the other way for just a few hexes though. Moving closer to where the boy was sitting Minerva then saw Alexa and couldn't help but grin. Oh Gaston did not know what just hit him with the three girls together. He wasn't getting away with any of this now was he.
The Headmistress sauntered into the picnic area first, naturally, as it was the best part of any party. She was most interested in what desserts the prefects and house elves had planned. Hopefully they went along with the rest of the 'dreaming of summer' theme she had approved. Hopefully.
She picked up a picnic basket at random and was about to go find a blanket to sit upon when she spotted the little.... altercation surrounding the French boy. The redhead's eyebrows went up as she passed by the group.
"Now now, ladies," she warned them in her Headmistress tone, "I've already filed a complaint with the European Board of Wizarding Education. This one here's supposed to be under STRICT watch. Double-secret probation, maybe even. I wouldn't waste my breath -- or my energy --" she eyed Alexa's kicking leg, "--on him. Have a good party, now."
She, meanwhile, had a seat on a blanket on the edge. This was a nice view of the festivities! Hurrah!

Yeah, yeah, we know what you're doing, Summers. Ella shook her head but smiled anyway. He was lucky he was so cute, Alec was.
They tended to do this a lot, didn't they? And you'd think that being together over two years would stop you from being incredibly sheepish around your boyfriend or girlfriend but it never seemed to stop them from feeling that way. They were total weirdos, weren't they? Oh well, at least they were weirdos together. Grin! "You do it all the time, y'know. It's pretty impressive." And this hand holding thing was nice so Ella was just going to keep hold of his hand, okay? Just for a little while longer, at least.
"I know he'd enjoy it." She was Caleb's all-knowing big sister, after all. "And I'd be more than okay with that. I think it's really great that you two get along." And that Alec didn't mind spending so much time with her little brother. She appreciated it, probably a lot more than Alec knew. He was also being sweet again, did he know? Ella smiled up at him and nudged him gently. "I am getting lots of help and I hope you're not worrying about me again." He did that a lot and she wished he wouldn't. She could handle herself. Maybe.
More raised eyebrows for you, hair ruffler. Ella was pretty sure there was some reason Alec was pretending to be so interested in the picnic basket but if he didn't want to share, she wouldn't make him. "That's good! I'm great too. Starving, but great." Mhm!
House elves were curious creatures. They worked incredibly hard and they did seem to take pride in everything they did, big or small. Alec was right, they were also incredibly humble and so maybe offering them a gift wasn't the right way to go about things. "Do you think...maybe if we made them a card or something? They could keep it in the kitchens and it wouldn't be too over the top." Besides, a Thank You card would be easy to throw together before they went home for the summer. ...Was the éclair good? "Ib's Fso Bwilliant!" Mouth full of food and all, Ella answered with enthusiasm and then gave a double thumbs up. It was delicious.

Innocent Summers was innocent. He was also a puppy according to some people but... that was a different story. Innocent. Yeah. GRIN.
They really were quite weird. And quite similar, actually. And they tended to compliment each other a lot which... was that weird? "I... but..." He shook his head; there was no way he was aware of doing that all the time. Ruffling his hair, sure, that was something he did all the time. But... this? As for the impressive part... "How so?"
She knew he'd enjoy it. Probably good too, seeing as she was his sister. "Awesome! I... thanks!" For... being okay with it? Did... people thank each other for things like that? "He's great, Caleb is! A little too good at chess, though." Didn't he always beat big sister Ellaphant in chess games...? Shrug. ... Worrying about her was just one of the things he was MEANT to do. Boyfriend Handbook, you know. If such a thing existed. "But Ells! What if I want to worry about you?" She did a lot of the worrying and overthinking and... what if it was his turn?
Starving? At that word, Alec pulled the basket closer towards the girl before looking over at her. "You know there's a solution for that, yeah?" he said, giving the basket a gentle pat. There was enough for two in the basket, right?
The idea of making someone something... made Alec shrink a little. He... wasn't good at that. It all had to do with arts and crafts and... well... he was much better at other things like flying and grinning and hair problems. But arts? Not really. After a few seconds of thinking, the boy nodded along. "Yeah... and it won't be a clothing item so... we won't be setting them free." He was pretty sure the residents of Hogwarts would not appreciate that. Who would continue to make them delicious food, like this éclair? And speaking of éclair, eyes were still on the girlfriend who seemed to be speaking... with éclair in her mouth.
... Pause. LAUGH.
That's what he spent the next couple of seconds doing. Laughing. He took a deep breath and shook his head before saying, "It's bwilliant, is it?"

Ah, yessss, the time had finally come. All their hard work had paid off and it was time to declare the winner of the EBSEQWSJN whatever that thing was called. Pierson was rather excited; he did like a good party. Even if 98% of the attendees were under the age of 18. You could only ask so much at a school.
Entering the premises, Piers scanned his eyes along the familiar faces, students and professors alike until they landed on the Headmistress, just a few feet away. He stepped forward to her blanket. "May I?" he asked, gesturing to the blanket. Surely there was room for both of them. Unless she was mean.

Oh. Oh ohohohohhhhh. Bunz looked up from inspecting unpacking the picnic basket only to stare straight into the handsome face of the Charms professor. My. So startling. Not that she was complaining.
"Please, join me." She scooted over a little bit and smoothed out her pretty pink dress. Bunz reached in and pulled out a beverage at random, holding it out to the new guy. "Pumpkin juice?" Or did he prefer lemonade?

Oh, how polite. Piers gave her a smile and took a seat on the Headmistress' blanket. "I'd love one," he replied, accepting the beverage from her.
"Well, this has been a wonderful first year teaching, I must say. And this quiz bowl was quite fun to participate in, too." He had enjoyed his first year, sharing the castle with a bunch of foreign kids (even if they had been a bit rambunctious) and preparing tasks for the students to take part in and test their knowledge and skill.
Piers lifted his drink towards Truebridge. "To Hogwarts," he said as a brief toast. They could probably still use the money and the pride if they won this thing.

He was so nice too. Nice to look at talk to. Really. Quite polite. "I'm glad you think so," the Headmistress bubbled a bit. She always liked hearing good things from her staffers. It meant that they would hopefully return the next year!
She picked out a bottle for herself. "To Hogwarts!" The redhead clinked her pumpkin juice to his and took a big, long drink.

With a grin and a clink of their glasses, Piers took a good drink of his pumpkin juice. Hmmm. It had a slightly different flavor than what he was used to, but Merrrr-lin, it was darn delicious. Piers smacked his lips as the drink seemed to float through his body and he looked back over at the redheaded Headmistress.
Speaking of redhead, that flaming hair was quite pretty, wasn't it? It looked all soft and shiny and... red. He liked it. He also liked her dress. Oops, was he staring? "I failed to mention, Anastasia -- may I call you that? You look absolutely stunning today." How had he not noticed before? She was diviiiiiiiiiiine. "And not just today. Everyday." He nodded. It was the honest truth, mmmhm.

More pumpkin juice, please. Gulp guuulp.
This was superb pumpkin juice, wasn't it? "The Prefects put together this whole event, you know," she leaned in toward Piers with a bit of a whisper!giggle. "I just love this pumpkin juice!" And so she had a bit more of it.
She giggled some more at Piers. "Same to you, daaaaahling." The Headmisress touched his arm a bit. "Please, call me Annie. All my friends do." She might have even fluttered her eyelashes at him. Whaaaaaaat? He'd just complimented her! He was nice. She liked him. He should definitely come back next year.

And just like that, every plan for getting some kind of justice was squashed. Squashed, kicked aside then swept up like that dirt you only ever bother to sweep from behind your dresser every year or so if your father nags you enough. Alexa scowled in the direction of the seemingly unperturbed Headmistress, darkening as she stared once again to the Frenchie. Today was his very lucky day, she would give him that. This was a classic example of why she usually tried for her own brand of justice away from those in authority. Effective? No. Annoying? Merlin yes.
In the end her only kick that counted was wasted on a food basket and not his face. Poor strategy. Always try to cause the most damage in the first strike. Why didn't she remember that?
No matter, Lex rolled her eyes, over this situation completely. The Gryffindor walked back to the baskets, grabbed one for herself and set herself up at a good distance from everyone else. It was better this way, for now. After food happened she'd go looking for Lottie, Cassia or Aidan. Didn't really matter who she found.
