| | Kitchen Level Corridor
The Kitchen and Hufflepuff Common Room are accessed via the staircase to the right of the main staircase in the Entrance Hall. You follow along a dimly lit corridor adorned with paintings, the most notable of which is the still life of a bowl of fruit...
What's Hogwarts motto again? Never tickle a green pear?

Sorry, Józsua. And a repeat performance? At this she looked him over as if she could tell the answer by his appearance. "Yeah...probably." And in reply to his argument about the kitchen. "Oh, I'm sure you'll come up with some other weird stuff to do, yeah?"
From which she would save him.
Or you know, not.
Oh great, couldn't people just let it go? If she introduced herself as 'Olly' then it was VERY LIKELY that that was what she wanted to be called too. So why was he asking for her full name? That earned him a moment of silence. "...yeah. It's short for Olivia." No calling her that, though, okay? Okay. Her amused smirk was back a second later, almost as if it hadn't momentarily vanished at all. Everything's fine. Carry on.
She'd already figured he was a transfer, since she'd seen him at the sorting. And he clearly wasn't a first year so. Hungarian. Interesting. "So your name has nice little lines on top of the letters then?" She even drew a line in the air for emphasis. But now they were back on her? "I'm from Bristol." He'd know where that was right? Plus, she didn't have much time to add anything else since they'd almost arrived at the kitchen.
Fooooood, here we come. Ah, the smirking continued and that look she was giving him was a little disconcerting. Still Józsua smiled back, amused. “I think my point's just been proven.” He stated teasingly in reply. That the lack of apology proved she was 'kinda mean'. Weird stuff? He laughed brightly. “You should never judge someone on first meetings! I'm not usually so.. weird.” He protested, slightly embarrassed, but amused at the same time. Although Olly would probably disagree because Józsua was a boy, and despite being quite a well-to-do boy, all boys were weird at some level according to girls. Of course that argument could be countered with how complicated girls were and it was their fault that boys were weird in the first place. Action and reaction.. y'know?
Sudden awkward, albeit brief, silence. Józsua blinked and realised he had asked the wrong question. At last she answered. The silence sort of said it all. “I'm guessing you're not keen on your name.” He replied. So it would be 'Olly' then. Which was a good name he had to admit. “Olly's nice.” He added with a nod of the head. Usually more suited to a boy but that made it all the more interesting.
He smiled a little. “Above the 'O'. So it's Joe-sua, not Joshua.” He explained because, like Olly and her dislike of 'Olivia', he HATED being called Joshua. It was like people were too lazy to bother making an effort to say his name properly. He personally found it to be disrespectful. Bristol? He gave a nod of his head. He knew where Bristol was. Most people talked funny from there.
Oh, and they were finally at the kitchen. The smell of baking almost made the fifteen year old DROOL. He gestured for the Hufflepuff girl to go first... because Józsua was a gentleman, no?

Food made birthdays awesome too. Food that could be found in the kitchen. Penelope considered going down and showing him the painting 'cause it was always good and important to know where the kitchen was, buuut there was more Quidditch to talk about.
He even remembered her last name, but she supposed that made sense since it was on the roster list commentators got. Though she wasn't sure she remembered everyone's last names that she'd commentated about, at least not when she didn't know them personally, but...that was beside the point. "Yep, that's me," she replied with a grin. Oh, and he'd played Chaser before. She'd forgotten about that one. He'd probably been pretty good at that one too. Ohh, but he was trying for Seeker now. Penelope grinned. "Loads of fun. I love it." Her favorite Quidditch position hands down. "I bet you'll like it too." And she looked forward to playing against him if he got it. Would be interesting. Was it rude to, like, get ON the broom mid-conversation? It was, right? Yeah, it probably was. Also... probably against school rules. But the thing was BUZZING in his hands (or... maybe that was him being all wired) even as he spoke.
He nodded his head as Penelope spoke. Nodnodnodnodnod. Yes. Because he was listening, see? Because some people didn't believe he was listening when he really was, so he had to be EXTRA careful to show it. "Yeah, it looks fun! The snitch chases always look super exciting!" Bouncebounce. "Chaser was good, 'cause there was a lot of moving around. And I liked Keeper 'cause I was good at it." Well he WAS, and he could appreciate that. No point in saying that he wasn't. "Beater looks fun, but I'm not the right build... but maybe one day I could try it!"
Tobias was going on a bit, and he realised it too. "Sorry," he smiled, somewhat sheepishly. "I just really love Quidditch. How long have you been playing?"

Tobias was going on a bit, and he realised it too. "Sorry," he smiled, somewhat sheepishly. "I just really love Quidditch. How long have you been playing?" Penelope couldn't help but grin as she listened to him going on and on about the different Quidditch positions. It was always fun to find others who liked Quidditch enough to talk about it and discuss the differences in the different positions. 'Cause they were all different but also fun because of it. At least, fun for the most part.
She laughed a little and shook her head when he apologized. "Nah, you don't have to apologize," she said. "I love it too." So she hadn't been bored with listening or anything like that. "I've been playing since my first year, though I played Keeper then. Only for one game though, and I didn't like it much since there wasn't that much flying around." So she'd been kinda bored at times, which had probably affected her playing and was why she hadn't been too great at it. "Started Seeking in my second though, and I've loved it ever since." LOTS of flying around with that one and definitely exciting, as he'd said. "I haven't tried Beater either. Maybe we could try it together some time though? Just for fun? Though I dunno if we could use a real bludger..." But that might be okay in case they accidentally hit each other. And while she was generally accepting with getting hurt on the pitch during the game, it wasn't really the same when it was just for fun. What could be the equivalent of a bludger though? Hm...

She paused for a second, long enough to look at the title of her book, then asked a question. "Is it good?" Adrienne looked up and saw a painfully cheerful-looking girl who she thought was in her year. Hufflepuff, right? Yes, the question was confirmed by the yellow-striped tie she had around her neck. And she was... sitting next to and talking to Adrienne? While she was trying to read? She raised her eyebrow, slowly, looking her up and down disapprovingly. Not a particularly good first impression, was it? "Adrienne," she said slowly in response. Marigold, like the flower, hm? Fitting, if a bit peppy for her own tastes. "It is fascinating," she said coldly. And it would likely be even more fascinating if she could actually be left alone to read it. Honestly! What was it with people interrupting her today? First Tora wanted to talk, then she had to move so people could actually get into the Common Room, and the Great Hall was way too noisy today... ugh.

A snack. Hannah just wanted a snack. She wasn't starving but she was pretty sure that her stomach would start protesting if she didn't get a little something in there soon. She was NOT going to cook herself anything so she was thinking of maybe getting the elves to whip her up something real quick.
She tried to decide what she wanted as she hand went to tickle the pear. She waited for the entrance to open as the thought of food possibilities swirled around in her head.

After waking up late and skipping out on breakfast she was sure that anyone within a 100 meter radius of her could feel the ground shake every time her stomach grumbled. Having only been a few weeks into her first year at Hogwarts, Fay had absolutely no idea where the kitchen was either, until she smelled it.
Yes Faylinn was smelling out the kitchen and there was no shame in that. Besides, there was no one around to see the small blond sticking her nose up into the air and sniffing around furiously until she turned a corner and she saw Hannah.
FINALLY! Someone who can help her! The first year scurried over to the girl, calling her name, "HANNAH! I NEED YOUR HELP!" |

Toby nodded as Penelope spoke. Yeah, he understood the whole thing with not flying around when playing Keeper, especially when you liked to move around a lot. "I think Ella thought that because I like to keep moving, I would be good at moving around in front of the goal hoops and stopping goals getting it." Like a human pinball but with the ability to deflect things. "I think it kinda worked, but sometimes I get distracted and end up watching the game."
Though... the same thing could potentially happen when Seeking. Hm. Ah well, that wasn't the point right now. Tobias still needed to ensure he GOT on the team, y'know?
At the suggestion of trying out the Beater position together, Tobias' grin got a little wider and his eyes shone in something akin to wonder. An older student, not even in his house, was offering to fly with him? AND practice Beater...ing... whatever. WOW. Awesome. "I'd totally love that! Even just using like... a quaffle. Or tennis balls!" He was eager.

FINALLY! Someone who can help her! The first year scurried over to the girl, calling her name, "HANNAH! I NEED YOUR HELP!"
All she had to do was fondle the pear and all the food possibilities would be hers. She wondered if one of the helpful little elves would be so kind as to whip her up some food and deliver it to her in the dungeons. She really didn't think that would be too much to ask for. She was Hannah Marie Lockwood after all, and that meant stuff. Maybe she could give them a little weekly planner of food that they could make for her.
She was just about to be granted access when she heard somebody shout her name. Merlin, where was the fire? This had better be important! Arm still hanging in mid air the shocked Slytherin turned to see who is was that needed her help so badly. Well, well, well if it wasn't her ickle snake friend. "Hello there Faylinn... how can I be of assistance?" She hoped the girls problem involved consuming food.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Xavieria Bole Graduated | For Aidan ♥ Touch Lass! | MOON OF MY LIFE | Lemon's Winner | Inside Kitty Though it was a bit later than promised, Cat had eventually gotten around to making the fudge for Charlie. Vanilla raspberry swirl, to be exact. Though she hadn't made it far from the kitchen before she was tempted to test it herself. She knew it was good, nay, awesome. She knew it. But that didn't mean she couldn't taste test her creation, right?
Cat found an out of the way spot along the corridor and sat on the ground, legs crossed and container of fudge on her lap. She glanced over the contents and tried to decide which one to pick. It was a VERY important decision. |

Merlin, he missed being able to do that. At school, of course, since he pigged out plenty at home over the summer.
Aidan made his way to the kitchens because it was between meals and he was STARVING and the house elves would be more than willing to make him food, he knew. It amused him when they waited on him like they did. Plus, he got loads of food out of it.
But before he made it to the kitchen, he saw Mo's girl sitting on the floor. With a container. Why? Why was she alone? With fudge? Was she sad? "What's up, Cat?" he asked, standing over her.

Why was it such a hard choice? Why were all of the pieces so perfect looking? Such hard decisions. Was this some kind of tasty metaphor for life? Cat was pondering on all the things when she heard her name. Glancing up, Cat grinned at the boy. "Hi Aidan." Hello. Hopefully she hadn't been ignoring him while looking longingly at the fudge. "I just made some vanilla raspberry swirl fudge." The elves had been excitable and eager to help, but she mostly did it herself. "Want some?" She would share. She was good at sharing. Cat patted the spot next to her, offering him a seat in her corridor. |

Was the 'fudge' part implied chocolate? Because fudge just wasn't fudge without chocolate. Sweets weren't sweets without chocolate. He was best friends with Alexa Cambridge. He knew this stuff.
Still, he obeyed her patting. He leaned his back against the wall and slid down it, "Definitely." He reached into her container and took two pieces. Two. Aidan was hungrier than that whole container, so he was practicing great restraint. He didn't want to scarf down all her hard work right away. Besides, they were probably for Mo and he might be given extra laps or something for eating his captain's girlfriend!fudge.
He popped one piece in his mouth whole. "'s good. Thanks." He gave her the best smile he could with his mouth full.

She knew she probably sounded like a whiny and snotty first year, but she couldn't help it this one time. Her stomach was empty, one hundred percent, completely empty. How could anyone be in a good mood on an empty stomach. That's right! NO ONE! Fay dropped her head into her hands and she tugged on the roots of her hair, expressing her frustration with the situation she was in.
Then she looked up and notice what Hannah was facing, "Uhh, why are you looking at a portrait of fruit?" Not that is wasn't a nice painting or anything, much better than what Faylinn could do, but it wasn't that special... Who knows, maybe Hannah had a strange admiration and obsession with fruit... |

.......YUM.
She was so good at this.
Cat opened her eyes again and grinned Aidan. "You like? I've never made this kind before." So good, she was glad it was a success. "What are you up to, anyway?" Curious. |

That would be the only way to make it better.
What was he up to? "Eating." That was his plan before getting sidetracked. Though this wasn't exactly counter productive or anything. He was still eating. "Your boyfriend," Mo. The captain who might possibly actually be meaner than his sister, "...makes me hungry. And House Elves make good food." Hence why he was headed for the kitchen. "...So do Cats," he added. This fudge was great.
Aidan decided to savor the next piece more and just scraped a bite off.

Aidan decided to savor the next piece more and just scraped a bite off. "A formal request?" Cat beamed proudly. She'd just gotten a FORMAL request for food. Fancy pants stuff, right? "I think I can handle that, yeah." In fact, she was planning on packaging some up and owling it to him later. She couldn't exactly have Mo deliver it and know she was feeding his team behind his back. "D'you like a certain kind? Or this one?"

Like a human pinball but with the ability to deflect things.
Hm, that was...an interesting way of looking at playing Keeper, actually. She'd always kinda remembered it as not a lot of movement and flying, but there WAS quite a bit of moving involved actually, even if it wasn't the same as flying around the pitch. "That was probably a good thought on her part." 'Cause he'd been a good Keeper. And maybe that was why she hadn't been all that great back in her first year. Not that it mattered now since she was sticking with Seeker. Though watching the game when the quaffle was at the other end of the pitch was also a good thing about being Keeper...long as you didn't get distracted, of course. Heh.
Penelope grinned a little more when he seemed to like the idea of trying the Beater position out. And he had great ideas to use in place of the bludger. "Yeah, either of those would be good! 'Specially the tennis balls." She wasn't sure whether they'd actually be allowed to smack a quaffle around with bats, and tennis balls might be fun to try to catch. Get some Seeker practice in too maybe?
But then she heard her stomach rumble and she was reminded why she'd come down here. And she noticed again the broom he was carrying and remembered he'd been off to go fly on it. He probably wanted to get back to that, yeah? "Anyway, I should probably get some food. And you wanna go try out that new broom, yeah?"

"I'll hold you to that." He would. Totally. TOTALLY. 'Cause Quidditch was awesome and Tobias remembered EVERY conversation he had about Quidditch, every Quidditch game he watched and the players he met. Almost. At least, he liked to believe he did. But anyway yes. Beater practice with Penelope and tennis balls. SOON.
Wait what?
OH.
FLYING.
WITH HIS BROOM. "Sure do! Yeah, I should go. I wanna get a couple of hours flying in," he nodded. Curfew was an evil thing. Tobias grabbed his broom from where it hovered in the air and held it beside him all upright and stuff like a normal person would. "I hope you find some good food!"

She needed food eh? Then she had definitely come to the right place. She was just about to tell her that when she noticed that the girl was having a full on tantrum minus the stomping of the feet. Dramatic much? "Ummm... that is not a good look." It was her duty to let her know when she was on the verge of looking like a crazy lady right?
Hannah most likely did look strange staring at fruit, but there was a point to her maddness! "You can get into the kitchen from here and all of your hunger problems will be solved." Yup, she could thank her later. This fruit that I am staring at is key." See, Hannah wasn't crazy. "All you have to do is tickle the pear like so..." The sixth year tickled the pear just right. "Then you gain entrance to food galore." Her stomach rumbled at the thought of food possibilities. "Follow me." |

"Brilliant, I'll look forward to it," he said. Who knew getting fudge was so easy? Sure, he could always ask it of the house elves, but to get it from a person was just better. Why didn't he know Cat last year during the Great Hogwarts Famine? "I like this one," he said through another bite, "But I'd like to try more if you've got others you're wanting to make." Really, he wasn't picky.
Was Mo a strict captain? That was a good question. "He's..." Aidan took another nibble from his fudge, "...taking it very seriously, I suppose." He didn't really know how else to describe it. Mo wasn't really a yell-in-your-face strict, but he had them working pretty hard.

Man, that sounded like a good job, right? Cat certainly thought so. "We could make you a badge and everything." GRIN. She was grinning and offering more fudge. Feed all the Hogwarts children, that was her goal.
She grinned even more when he answered her question about Mo. She certainly thought he was a very good Captain and she was still super proud of him for it. Definitely. "I'm certainly hoping you guys do well. Even though I have an obvious obligation to Slytherin."
But... boyfriend. Dilemma. |

"Do you make chicken nuggets, by any chance?" He took another piece of fudge. He might love it, he might have formally requested more, but chicken nuggets would probably seal the deal.
And he'd totally wear a badge if she made one up. "I do too," because then all the extra yoga and whatnot that Mo had cooked up would be worth it. And Aidan wouldn't complain about it again.

It had been... Well, Benzi didn't really know exactly how long it'd been, but they'd certainly managed to have CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS AND COME BACK in the time since The Thief had stolen his parchment.
This was perhaps his seventh visit to these areas in search for Fern the Lake Girl Quimbley, aka Aparecium Parchment Thief. He still had no clue where their common room was, but he'd followed enough Hufflepuffs down here to know it was in the area.
Pacing back and forth, he glared at any passerby who wasn't Fern. Merlin's saggy underwear, where WAS she?!

Pacing back and forth, he glared at any passerby who wasn't Fern. Merlin's saggy underwear, where WAS she?! Fern came skipping down the stairs and hall. Classes were over, and if had scheduled the rest of her day correctly, she’d be able to get through her assignments with at least enough time left to read the Daily Prophet’s “Dear Lexi” section. Lexi Kennedy always had the best advice, and Fern had been following her column since the very beginning.
Someday, she would even like to submit an owl to Lexi, to have her personal dilemma printed and answered in the Prophet. But first she was going to have to pick out a good pseudonym. And it was most definitely not going to be Godzilla or – Fern caught sight of Benzi – Lake Girl.
Skidding to a halt, she watched as he paced away from her, and craned her neck to see if Cuthbert was near by. She had been carrying around his Aparecium parchment for months, meaning to return it to him, but the Ravenclaw was ALWAYS with the Slytherin. And Fern obviously couldn’t give the parchment back in front of Cuthbert.
But this time it looked like there was no one with the short first year, so Fern called out, ”Benzi!” and began digging through her tote. She wondered what he would think about the new story. Personally, Fern was starting to theorize that maybe one of the writers was an Animagus – a duck, to be precise. Now the real question was, who was smart enough at Hogwarts to be an Animagus? They had to at least be a teenager.
