He watched to see what she was going to do and he was rather surprised to see her fingers attempt to run through her hair. "What are you doing?" he asked, clearly amused at what she had been trying to attempt.

"Why? Writing a book, Toussaint?"
Zahra quit her hair and wasn't at ALL entertained by his look of amusement. This was the birth of self consciousness in front of her very best friend. She pulled up one of her droopy socks and put both feet on the floor, then sat up a little straighter.

Well that wiped the smile off his face. "What's wrong with you?"

Only moments ago she was teasing him mercilessly about his bodily functions and now she was angry with him. He didn't get it.

They should have gone outside when he had suggested it, they would of been having fun by now. Michael peeked over to Alexa and he sighed. She never got weird on him.

"Idunno," Zahra shrugged and avoided looking at him by taking up the marker and defacing the study table a little. She put her initials in big letters Z D K. At least she was being honest. She DIDNT KNOW. Things just suddenly felt weird and different and like maybe next time she took a bath it should probably include soap and maybe tomorrow she'd wear the new skirt her mum sent her.

"Give me your arm." He WAS in her impromptu tattoo parlor and he hadn't gotten a tattoo yet. And tattoos beat thinking any day of the week.

She didn't know?!

SHE DIDN'T KNOW?!

Michael was utterly perplexed, because if she didn't know what was wrong then he certainly didn't. So that meant that he couldn't help with whatever was wrong with her or at the very least find someone who could help her.

he had no idea what to say so he wasn't going to say anything. Thankfully though he didn't have to and he happily brought his arm forward so that she could draw on him.

Now this felt normal.

"Can you draw me a dragon or maybe a Chimaera?" He was a guy after all, he needed something fierce looking on his arm.

"Let the artEEST do ZE work. You hush."
And with that, Zahra forgot those other stupid girls, PINNED MIKEY'S arm down so there was NO WAY he was getting away... and started drawing flowers on his arm. And a heart. And she put Z in HIS heart 'cause hahahahaha it was funny. HEARTS AND FLOWERS.

"You're going to just look PRECIOUS, Mikey. PRECIOUS."
HAHAHAHAHAHA

Of course she had to go and draw the complete opposite of what he wanted. But since she seemed to be back to her normal self, Mikey decided to just leave it there.

Merely to humour her of course.

"I shall wear it with pride." He did a little bow in front of her and took her hand. "Shall we head outside, MY PRECIOUS Z?"

So he could pelt her with snowballs.

Zahra had been around the Toussaint side enough to be able to say, "Your Toussaint is showing," what with that.... was that charming? ...for her? It was kind of weird, but also kind of maybe okay. She was grinning and it was, no doubts, a real stupid grin.

Really stupid.

She got up happily, tossed the marker over her head willy nilly not her problem anymore, some house elf would pick it up.... and offered Mikey her black-smudgy hand. Sure. Outside. Hands.

Okay that wasn't weird.

Herbology Homework 2 - Part a.

Blair was actually quite looking forward to her herbology homework. Probably because she was looking forward to tasting her tea blend and letting her father know how it had went. She took a seat at one of the study tables and started to empty her satchel.

Notes, herbs, wand, that was everything she needed right? Despite spending a lot of time in class drying out her herbs some required a little more work. She neatly laid them out in separate piles on the desk and picked up her wand.

Making two small clockwise circles she said "Siccus Aerous"

She waited while the hot air now coming from her wand dried out the herbs. Blair read the next step required to complete the homework : Crush the herbs into finer granules. That seemed easy enough.

She might as well had gotten this over with. If she procrastinated for too long then it wouldn't get it done and she'd have to explain to her Head of House exactly why she hadn't bothered to do the homework. Lex had been doing good with this homework thing this term, no need to start slacking now.

The fourth year glanced across the table at Alice. Always such nice company when they had to get homework done. Well actually just always nice company.

She shifted another set of herbs across the table to a pile for those that had already been dried. Her hand grabbed at the bay next. "Siccus Aerous!" Circle circle. Nothing too it and better than being SOAKED then having to dry herself.

Bay done and shoved across the table she grabbed for yet anoth--oh, this was the last one. "Siccus Aerous!" There, nice and dry.

It was easier doing things with Lex as a partner, she noted, because the work got done twice as fast. And it was clearly evident that she'd do anything Alice said, so the sixth year didn't mind in the slightest. Nope. Didn't.

"Siccous Aerous." This spell wasn't hard at all, did she know? After the last homework assignment they'd done with it, plus her use of it during OWLs, she considered it mastered. "Siccous Aerous."

This was... a lot of herbs. "Siccous Aerous." Her wand traced the little circles along the length of the plants. "Are we done yet?"

"Nope, have to crush them next. Nothing too hard. Good thing Professor Lafay's so generous with her stuff, huh?" She was almost sure Professor Lafay wouldn't mind her borrowing equipment from the potions lab to get Herbology homework done, almost, so she didn't ask. But that was more in the event the woman would have said no because she kinda needed these herbs crushed.

Alexa placed a few into the mortar and began crushing them until they were fine enough but not too fine because they needed to be caught in the mesh and not go clogging up the tea.

Lex reached for another set and placed them in as well. crush crush crush. This was kinda like potions class only she wouldn't be getting to keep anything in a vial afterwards. All she'd get is the joy of knowing she got this done and now had the ingredients to make tea that reminded her of her father. Maybe she wouldn't think of it that way....it just didn't sound as epic, you know?

The crushed herbs, she placed in a small container so she wouldn't lose them. Can you imagine what a waste that would have been? She'd probably have ended up writing an extra long essay about it. There, done, was Alice done?

"Generous." Alice snorted. "I think she's required to let us use what's in the storage room. S'not hers. School pays for it." Was Lex going to crush her herbs for her? The lioness let her continue on with that bit until she realized she'd have to collect some to turn in too.

Crushing. Right. She grabbed the mortar next, beginning to grind her herbs to bits and mush until they seemed done. Done? "Does that look... crushy enough?"

Yeah. Whatever. Herbology. Alice slipped her herbs into a container as well, sliding it under her arm as she stood up. "That was exhausting. So much effort. I need food, don't you? Replenishment and stuff."

She didn't wait for a reply, just turned on her heel and began towing Lex to the kitchens. Gryffindors were ALWAYS hungry.
