No one ever used these to study anyway. What do these crimson-clad people LOOK like? Bunch of nerdy RAVENCLAWS? No. HAHAHAHA no.

Zahra was sitting at one of the tables, waiting on Mikey, and casually giving herself a TATTOO on her arm with a marker. It was a heart that said "MOM" in it and it was, in her opinion, the funniest thing she'd done all week. Slow week, but still. MOM. hahahaaaaa

Of all places to meet.

The study area.

Mikey hadn't even known the place existed until now and he could understand why he had taken no notice of it. It looked like a library and he thought that they were the most boring of places to be put on earth.

He made his way quietly over to Zahra and his eyebrows raised when he seen what she was doing. "Mom? Really?" Surely she could do better than that.

"Remember that time when I drew a moustache on you and it took a week of scrubbing to get it off?" That had been hilarious. Her parents hadn't been too impressed with him though.

There were probably a million things Lex would have preferred doing but for now there was homework to be done. Thankfully it wasn't something like an essay. Which reminded her, there was still that HoM homework essay thing that would probably be rushed at the very last minute. Yup. Sounded good, so all focus was on Herbology right now.

She grabbed her text and headed down to the study tables with Alice. They were working together, it made everything go by faster. Besides, watching someone get it right would make it easier for her to get it right as well.

"Do you already know this spell?" She asked, plopping down at one of the tables. "The one with the incantation 'Siccus Aerous', the hot air charm? I've never actually cast it before."

It'd be nice if at least one of them knew what they were doing. "I figure while learning. to know if it worked I can cast at your face? You can tell me if it's hot." Though saying that outloud did kinda make it sound a bit more painful...."Or we could try something else?" Just so long as they knew the spell worked.

Twirling her wand idly between her fingers, Alice stretched out across two seats, shoes on one and bum on the other. "I had to use it for an OWL. It's not really that hard." Pause. "D'you want to practice the incantation and movement over and over like in class, or just dive right in?

Was this Alexa Cambridge she was talking to? Yes, yes it was. Diving in for sure. "And I'm not letting you blast my face with a spell you haven't cast before." Or... any spell. She'd mentioned this was Alexa Cambridge she was dealing with, right?

Hm. Alice thought for a second, then brandished her wand and tossed a spell at her partner. "Aguamenti!"

There. Now they had something to dry.

So Alice knew the spell and she'd had it for her OWLs, this homework would be a lot easier for her. Lex would be the only one messing up here. The older girl passed all her OWLs meaning she hadn't failed the spell then and wouldn't be failing it now.

"We can get right into it." Honestly, she had no idea why she bothered to ask. Repetition wasn't her thing--

Wait...whaaaaat?

"Oh come on, you're acting like I'd blow you up...on purpose." Really it wasn't that big a deal. The fact that there was now water on the table told her Alice had already made up her mind on this. No casting at her face. Boo. You had to admit, it would have given her more incentive to get it right. Anyway.

Two little clockwise circles annnnd, "Siccus Aerous!"....It wasn't all gone but she'd gotten a good amount of it dry. "I think you can practice on the rest right there then we try again."

Except Alice had a feeling Lex was going to turn on HER when she was all dry, so the next spell she cast was another "Aguamenti!" to ensure that her partner was the one being used as homework material. Having drenched the second year's robes again, she turned her wand on her experimentally.

"Siccus Aerous." The tip of her wand traced the two small clockwise circles along the length she wanted to dry, Lex's robes. Her spell had a bit more power to it than the younger girl's, probably due to practice, so there was even less water left over now.

Did Alice want to get wet? No. No, she didn't.

"Aguamenti." At least Lex wouldn't have to bathe for a while.

Alexa had begun to notice a pattern. Whenever they had homework that required spell casting, she was usually taken for the target. Honestly, you'd never see her being able to cast at her Captain. Alice might have given up her position as Beater but Lex didn't doubt she still knew perfectly well how to use her beater's bat. For now she would suck it up. Water wasn't all that bad and Alice had managed to remove most all of it.

Ahem. She thought it was HER turn to cast now, but noooooo, Alice had shot another aguamenti at her. Sweet Circe. "Cut that out."

Lex looked to her robes that were soaked again. She had to get them dry, but did it really matter? Her Captain would just drench her again until they'd gotten in enough practice. "You're finding something else to make a target of after this." She said, eyes on her for a moment.

Again there were the two clockwise circles. "Siccus Aerous!" Please work? Please? She'd said please. Not audibly but it still counted, yeah?

...

......Again she failed to remove ALL the water but her robe was getting dry, it was far less wet now. Progress.

"Cut what out?" Cue innocent face. She made her most convincing confused face at Lex, pulling all the dramatics until the younger girl started blabbering again.

What? Another target? No. Nooo. "Why? I haven't ever had a target as brilliant as you." Really, she hadn't. More cooperative ones, most definitely, but the fun ones were the squirmy ones. Like Lex.

"Siccus Aerous." After tracing the next two tiny clockwise circles along the length of Lex's robes, Alice quickly shot another water-making spell at the fourth year, then ducked below the table to take cover.

Because surely she was going to get splashed back now.

Did she really think Lex was going to fall for that face? Obviously not. How many years had she known her now? A lot, okay not a lot but enough. Then there was the fact that she'd drenched her only minutes before. Her memory wasn't nearly that bad. "You know what I mean." Lex said, making faces at her. We don't listen to innocent clueless faces, nope. Of course in this case she had no choice but you know, in general.

Alexa beamed at what she thought was a compliment. "Well I am pretty brillia--hey! No! Nope. New target." Buttering her up wouldn't work either. Offering candy would though but SOME PEOPLE decided she needed reduced amounts for Quidditch reasons. Bah.

She watched as her robes were made dry again but before she could give any suggestions Alice had her wand raised again and her robes were being splashed with water.

Lex's wand flew up immediately but before she could return the favour Alice was under the table. "Not very Gryffindor of you Cap'n, that hiding look doesn't suit you." And of course she was left to get herself dry AGAIN.

"Siccus Aerous!" Heeeeyyyy, even less water left this time!! It was almost completely dry. You could hardly tell.

"Afraid I don't. And you're my favorite target." Alice crawled around below the study table, peeking up at Lex from the edge while waiting for the fourth year to start casting her spell. Once she was doing so, the captain crawled out from beneath the table and around behind her partner.

"I'm not hiding. Who's hiding?" She needed more wetness to dry. Mhmm. "Aguamenti!"

And now she was wet from the BACK, too.

Lex could take care of drying the rest of her front next turn, but Alice had created dome work for herself on the other side. "Siccus Aerous!" Still on the ground, her wand moved in the shape of two minuscule clockwise circles, leaving enough water to need another spell cast.

Know what? She was actually kinda okay with being the favourite target, but only because the word favourite was being used in the sentence. Lex liked being the favourite everything so she'd let this slide in favour of watching Alice crawling around the room. This...she wouldn't question.

Hah, not hiding. "You so are--"

SERIOUSLY????? Aliiiiiice." She whined, feeling completely soaked now. "Is this how you treat favourites? I don't approve!" Soaked she was soaked.

Her cheeks puffed as she waited to be made dry again but the older girl only got most of her back. How many times would this make? Her robes must be annoyed with her...or...not her because she wasn't the one drenching them every half a second. Alright, let's try this again. She'd almost gotten it perfectly last time. "Siccus Aerous" and the two clockwise circles that surprizingly got the job done this time.

But she wasn't finished yet. "Aguamenti!" Because Alice was far too dry.

"No, I take care of favorites. That's why I'm drying you after I drench you, get it?" Of course she did, why else would Lex put up with it? Alice cast another "Siccus Aerous" on the moody kid's back, letting the little clockwise circles do the work.

Were they done now? Had Lex dried her front off? "See? Told you I'd-"

She managed to dodge most of the water spray, but a good spurt still caught her in the right arm. Making faces at her partner, Alice readied her wand again. "What was the need for that? I thought we had enough practice. Siccus Aerous!" The wet area was small enough that she could take care of it in one spell, but the sixth year still didn't like being sprayed. At all.

"Now we're done. No more spraying." Because she was sick of this spell already.

.... when two other students showed up to do work here? Man. CRAMPING THE SPACE. Zahra had been here FIRST. Anyway, for now, they got ignored because they were doing boring school work and who could be bothered with that ALL THE TIME?

"I remember. I remember not trying to scrub it off because it was pretty awesome. But go on, Oh Brilliant one, YOU think up something better." Zahra handed over her marker she'd been using.

Mikey rolled his eyes at her. He never doubted for a second that zhe loved her mother but that didn't mean she had to paint it on her body.

He too noticed the other students enter the room and he felt his face go a little red at the sight of Alexa. Oh Merlin, why did she have to come now and with the Captain no less. He was still in Alice Fischer's bad books.

Turning his attention away from the two older girls, he took the marker from Z and hoped that she had not noticed anything. "It's about time you admitted my brilliance." He grabbed her arm and began to draw a picture of a lion with his mouth wide open in a silent roar.

"See, now you look fierce and you're also showing your house pride." He handed the marker back to her and stood up. "Lets go outside and have a snow fight. "

Seeeeee..... Zahra wasn't like Ms. Observant. And mostly she kind of figured Mikey's reddening was ANGER that those two GIRLS were moving in on their AREA. WHich she totally got. They WERE totally "studying" in the studying area,when this was CLEARLY and PRIMARILY the tattoo parlor.

But when Mikey suggested retreat?

Suspicions went up.

Zahra turned around and looked at the two girls again, then back at Mikey. Then not at ALL SUBTLE... turned around and did it again, this time ending with a LOOK at TOUSSAINT. "Did you fart in front of one of them or something?"

For one teensy tiny second there, Michael Toussaint had thought he had gotten away with it. He had actually started to breathe properly again.

But then his BFF had to go and open that mouth of hers.

His face changed colours in the matter of seconds. It went white with horror before changing to green with a sick feeling in his stomach, to red with anger and embarrassment.

And red is how it stayed as he clenched his fists beside him. "For the love of Merlin, Zahra." he said through gritted teeth. "You're my best friend and I love you, but right now I want to kill you."

....haha....whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Zahra went from kind of curious to full on AMUSED. "It must have been a NASTY one," she whispered. "Everyone does it. If they judged you, they're just liars."

To punctuate this statement, Zahra made a LOUD, LONG fart noise with her mouth.

Then she pointed at Mikey. HE DID IT. NASTY BOY IS NASTY. ALWAYS GASSY. Her other hand waved in front of her face. Whew. GROSS.

...hehehehehehehehehehehehehe.

He realised that he couldn't kill her not because he didn't want to but because she was already killing him. He sat back down in the chair and looked grumpily at her. "I'll be sure to remember that. And the next time you do it I'll make sure to remind you of that and everyone else that is around." Because he was so going to get her back for this.

Even Rhodes was not this annoying.

"Can't we go and do something? This sitting in the study area was rather boring. "Lets go and pull some practical jokes on the Durmstrangers."

"I'm not ashamed," though Zahra was kind of backing down now. What if he did that in front of...... like Stark or something. Which made Zahra turn around and look at those girls again.

Then back at Mikey.

She licked her finger and smudged at the Lion's mane around the new drawing on her arm. "You liiiiiiiiiiike them. That's why you want to leave." She wasn't SHOUTING this time, or trying to be heard, just talking to Mikey.

Pffft...she may not be ashamed, not in front of him anyway but he was pretty sure that if he called her out in front of...say the Slytherin Prefect, he was sure that it would be a different story.

He just didn't know if he could be that mean.

Then again...

"Don't be stupid Kettleburn. I do not like them." Which was technically true. He only liked one of them.

Mikey rolled his eyes at her and punched her in the arm. "Is this because I called you out on your crush with Theooooooo?"

Zahra and Mikey didn't LIE to one another, so she believed him when he said he didn't LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKE those girls. Or mostly. Mostly believed him. Some small teensy, mostly no big deal, tiny part of her suspected he might have maybe been fibbing a bit. She shrugged it off. WHATEVS. Those girls were nerdy points herders anyway. BORING.

"................................................. .......no." No "THIS" was in retaliation to that. "It wasn't a crush. That's stupid." Zahra didn't even mind the punch really. Nor did she retaliate. She was turned around looking at the two Gryffindor girls again, kind of lost in thought for a second. Rare hard thinking was happening.

Yeah okay so he felt bad for the very small white lie he had just told her and it was the first time he had ever done so, but his BFF would never let him live it down. Whether intentionally or not, she would embarrass him, just like she had done moments ago.

Once upon a time he wouldn't have cared, but...well...now he kinda did.

She just gave the same answer he had just given her and he wondered if she really did have a crush on Theo? He didn't really get time to ponder on it too much though because now she was staring at Alexa and Alice.

She kind of tried to fix her hair a little. It was an IMPOSSIBLE task of tangled curls though.

The girl was starting scare him a little. She had been staring at the two older girls for quite a while now and he was really hoping that she wasn't going to do anything to them or say something stupid.

Because even though she had just annoyed him moments ago, Zahra was his best friend and always would be and he would hate to see her on the end of Alice Fischer's teeth.

He watched to see what she was going to do and he was rather surprised to see her fingers attempt to run through her hair. "What are you doing?" he asked, clearly amused at what she had been trying to attempt.
