The tower classroom was darker than it had been in previous lessons throughout the terms. The tall windows were shut and the curtains were drawn to hide the brilliant views of the Hogwarts Grounds and expansive sky. The room was only lit by a few candles placed along the wall here and there.
Professor Elwood was seated in her chair, her usual desk was gone and a small spindly table had taken its place in front of her. The blonde sat there smiling smally as she waited for her students to enter.
OOC: Please file in and wait for the lesson to start.
Ström followed a particularly bouncy Hufflepuff (Tobias) up to the Divination tower, huffing when he spotted the ladder. Jeez, between having to pay to even enter a core subject and that ladder, the Swede was glad he didn't normally attend school here. And they were not making him enthused for the rest of the year. Nor was this professor's weird need to keep her room so dark.
But he walk to the professor's 'desk' and introduce himself. "Hello, miss. My name is Ström and I'm from the great school of Durmstrang. Thank you for having us in your class."
Introductions done, he turned and found himself a seat with Karina and Broni, giving them each a sly smile and a polite nod, respectively, and taking out two notebooks. One was for class notes, the other for observations about the Hogwartians. In Swedish, naturally.
When he walked into the Divination classroom, Mischa was not surprised to see some of his fellow Durmstrangers there already. He knew they all wanted to continue their education while away from their school. The first person he laid eyes on was Karina and he was immediately tempted to go sit next to her. But then his eyes caught Strom. Mischa could feel the guilt once again rippling through him as it had on that day at the Three Broomsticks.
No. He would not go sit next to his best friend's girlfriend. He did however walked over to the lady who was most likely the Professor taking the class. "Hello,'' he told her. "Mischa Moller, final year Durmstrang student from Durmstrang.'' Even now Mischa could feel great pride saying his school's name. "I am looking forvard to your lesson.'' That was true. He was interested in knowing what these students were being taught.
Mischa turned and walked towards Strom. "Karina,'' he said as he passed the girl. There was a hint of a smile on his face. "Broni,'' he acknowledged the other girl with a nod. "Hello Strom.'' Mischa slipped into the seat beside his firend.

She hadn't realized who she'd been tailing after before he entered the tower and greeted her professor. With an accent.
A Durmstraggler? Why were they in her lessons? Alice briefly considered going and sitting next to the one she'd following in- for experimental and observational purposes only, of course- but decided against it when she spotted an empty seat beside Mo.
She could spare the foreigners funny looks from a Hogwartian for him.
"Can I sit here?" The sixth year's voice was quiet as she nudged the seat next to Mo with her foot. As in, was she allowed and such? Alice waited.

Mo glanced up with surprise, since his attention had been completely caught up by the influx of foreign students with their varying accents. He'd been looking for familiar faces among the Beauxbatons students, even waving at a few the thought he remembered. Hello, maybe old friends.
And then there was an Alice. Mo shoved out the seat with his foot in a hurry, indicating she should sit and join him. Immediately. "Yeah, 'course. You know I always want to sit by you, Ace." Even when he'd sat as far from her as possible. But now there wasn't a point to punish her and deny himself the pleasure of her company, because West was doing his West thing.
Zéline Labelle was still not happy about Beauxbatons coming in third place and honestly, she wasn't happy about having to stay in that castle for longer.
Even though she was not in a mood to mingle with the English speaking students, Zéline still wanted to attend Divinations because it was her favourite subject and it might help her feel better.
Too bad it was all going to be in English... Zéline sighed after sitting down by herself.
A part of him was very curious about the lessons more than anything else. Mostly to find out about other schools' systems. So Sébastien followed other students to find where the tower was. He didn't ask for directions directly. Mainly because he didn't like to look lost. He was sure he could found his way around and eventually he did.
The French boy sauntered into the classroom quite confidently with a bag thrown over one shoulder. He quickly surveyed noticing a bunch of Durmstrang students aside from the Hogwartians, of course. There was a professor there too. "Bonjour Madame," he greeted her. "Sébastien Voclain, Fifth year of Beauxbatons Academy," he introduced himself then walked closer towards the desks as his eyes fell on one of his friends. Zéline. He walked over to her and dropped in the seat next to her, "Bonjour, Zéline," he greeted her with one of his winks.
Shrugging off his bag, he slouched in his seat tapping his fingers lightly on the desk waiting for the lesson to start.
Maika walked into the room looking around tenatively. What in the world was going on? She slid across the back wall and planted her little butt on the ground right there next to the door. Darkness freaked her out, and she was ready to run at first notice.
You have bewitched me body and soul, And I love- I love- I love you
Mack entered the divination classroom and stopped instantly it took a few minutes for her eyes to adjust to the darkness. After she stood in the doorway for several minutes blinking she realized the windows were covered and the curtains the closed. She slowly made her way in to the room, straining her eyes to make out where she wanted to sit.
"Hello Professor" the blonde greeted cheerfully as she passed her desk, she took a seat near there and was excited to se what they were going to learn, divination was her favorite.
Of course Nigel had to come to this class. Even though he never liked Divination, it was his head of house and he was the prefect. But it got awesome/crazy when all the foreign students were also here. Crazy or awesome. Nigel could not decided. So both it was.
"Hello, Professor "
Now the hard part of not falling asleep. Which would be really bad.

Yeah he noticed. Yeah it bothered him. No he didn't say anything. Instead West quietly took a seat as close to the door as possible, in silence, and slumped a bit in his chair, watching.
Just proving him right and all.

Maika looked over to see someone else sitting close to the door. Well, at least she wasn't the only one.
Oooooh, Divinations!! AKA the most romantic class EVER!! Fern was so excited; she even had written down a whole list of questions to start divining the answers to.
Slightly out of breath because, in her eagerness, she had ran all the way up the floors and monkeyed up the rope ladder as if at any moment it would break, Fern had to take a little time out at the entrance to gather her breath. But then she was up and going again, calling out, "Hello Professor!" and waving to the Hufflepuffs in the corner (but NOT Tora, who was sitting by them), before taking a seat next to Claudette and Minnie.
The class might have been dark, but to Fern it appeared bright and cheerful, and she watched the professor with avid interest while unknowingly tapping her left foot in anticipation.
The fuuuuuuttuuure ooooh! This one would be REAL interesting. Abbi could tell.
With a wide, wide beam on her face the first year made her way all the way up to the seventh floor. She caught her breath for a minute or so and then eventually entered the dark looking divination classroom.
Spooooooooooky was her first initial thought.
The fairy headed towards the teacher and stopped right before her. "Hellooo, Professor." She extended the last syllable in 'hello' as an attempt to make it sound a little spooky. Then with that she turned around and looked for somebody she could sit with.
Anyone then? Nope, no Donny. Aww man.
Once again the eleven year old was on the move and just like that she took a seat and waited for the lesson to begin.

The Beaux, the Durms, they were EVERYWHERE. Cat found it terribly interesting and had to keep reminding herself that it was not polite to stare at strangers. But really, she was soooo curious. There was even the one she'd seen in Honeydukes. The cute boy one with the interesting accent.
Huh.
She did manage to extract her attention and smile at the woman as she entered the classroom, "Hello Professor." GRIN. She turned with a flourish and landed herself a seat next to Alice who was sitting next to Mo. They both got a finger wiggle of greeting. Hi friend. Hi boyfriend.
Hogwarts RPG Name: Vilhem Anderson. Not William. Vilhelm.
Fifth Year
Divination was one of Vilhelm's favorite classes, and since the Headmaster had wanted them to attend classes he did so. Walking into the classroom, he made his way over to the teacher, finding it a bit difficult in the darkness.
"Hello." Need he say more? "I am Vilhelm Andersen, from Durmstrang. I am a fifth year, and I am very... Interested at 'ow Hogvartz does their classes."
He moved to sit with his fellow Durmstrang classmates.
Divination was a subject that Charlie was particularly interested in, mainly because it was something she'd never studied before - her father didn't enjoy it, because he wasn't good at it, and so had always left it alone.
She moved into the classroom after one of the Durmstrang boys, and gave a nod and a smile to the Professor. "Hello, Professor Elwood," she greeted, before looking around to find a seat.

Divination was horrible. Lilly was terrible at it. Just...ick. But she went because she liked a challenge and why not? She made her way to the classroom and was relieved to see she wasn't late. Yay!
"Hello, Professor," she greeted, before going to sit down at a seat in the middle of the classroom.
Right, first lesson back... and she'd missed a lot of stuff, but she was HERE NOW. And ready to learn something. Maybe. Hmm... divination wasn't her favourite subject - it confused her brain quite a bit - but HERE SHE WAS. Okay. Good.
Once she'd climbed the millions of unnecessarily confusing, moving stairs, Derry got into the classroom and greeted the teacher with a bright smile. "Hi Professor Elwood." Lets learn.
Adelaide made her way up to the Divination classroom. She honestly had no idea what to expect from the class...even with all of the books she'd read on the subject. At the very least it sounded very interesting. "Hello Professor." She greeted grinning widely at the woman.
Addi turned around to go take a seat...and spotted a Derry. She hurried over and set next to her fellow red head. "Hey Derry."
He absolutely despised Durmstrang. After going there and getting thrown out, smirk, he had never wanted to be around that nasty group ever again. 'Cause they were nasty. Every single one of them. And he hadn't forgotten. He was only two years out of that place, yeah?
So when he walked into class and saw that he would be subjected to having to deal with them MORE he just rolled his eyes. 'Course they'd be here.
Elwood. Focus. "Morning Professor. You look lovely today." His heart was only half into that compliment. See what they were doing to his mood?
How very interesting these Hogwarts people were. Regina had been lurking around a bit, talking with portraits and members of various 'houses'. They were an attractive school, indeed...and being a girl, she appreciated the prettiness of them all.
Divination, though, was just starting and the Durmstrang fifth year took her Headmaster's heed. They were still meant to get their education and she did love the subject. Although, her performance dealing with it in the tournament could've been much more productive. Some embarrassment was present, yes.
Entering the classroom, Regina noted those already present and smirked. Introductions, apparently? "Regina Romanov, madam. I am a student from zhe Durmstrang Institute." She didn't need to supply her year or any further information, yes? These Hogwartians didn't need to know everything about her. Not now, anyway.
Grinning, she moved towards the area being occupied by her fellow Durmstrang people. Offering each of them a winning smile, Regina carefully took her seat. It wasn't time to play just yet.
It was quite dark up here. Dark and eerie feeling. Not the best atmosphere for a small blonde to walk into alone but hey, she was brave. Maybe.
Ella's eyes took a minute or two to adjust to the lighting and when they did, she was able to make out Professor Elwood. Oh good, someone was up here. Not...that Ells was scared. NOPE. The seventeen year old smiled and headed past the woman, curious as to what they'd be doing in the dark. "Hello, Professor. Nice to see you." No desk today? Alrighty then.
The sixth year then headed to a seat in the corner and organized her things. Boyfriend and badgers and friends would be along soon, yeah?
And the students had begun to arrive, or at least she thought so because of the darkness the room was filled with. "Hello Miss Bishop, good to see you're continuing Divination for your NEWTs."

If this wasn't an incredibly awkward question to ask.
Alec stepped up into the classroom and looked around. It looked... dark in here. Maybe a little darker than usual since the corridor underneath was slightly better lit and there weren't any curtains on those windows. His grey-blue eyes took in various things about the classroom, such as the candles, before landing on... "Hey Professor! It's great to see you!" And he grinned. Widely.
He gave her a small nod before looking around the classroom again at... OH HEY GIRLFRIEND. Why so far away? Because Alec had planned on sitting at the front of the classroom while he was making his way up here. And now... a momentary debate was taking place in his brain. He shrugged before heading over towards her and sitting down on the seat near hers. "Hey!" She got grins too.
"Mr. Summers, it's great to see you as well." She had already told him how awesome he had done in the first task of the Competition against their foreign friends but he got an extra big smile upon his entering of the classroom.

Afterward, Wade chose a seat near the corner Ella and Alec was at. They both got a smile from him too while his hair moved a little whilst waiting.
The Head Boy was here as well. "Hello Mr. Potter." It was good to see so many student leaders in her first lesson, an excellent habit for younger students to see.

Adi made his way over to where his fellow badgers were. "Hey, guys!'' he said, dropping into a seat near Alec.
Speaking of younger students, a new first year? Calista grinned as the eager Hufflepuff stopped in front of her and began to introduce himself. [B]"Well it's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Rehman, and I'm happy you've decided to take on Divination. I hope you enjoy yourself."

The next person to enter the Divination Tower classroom was someone Elwood had never seen around the Castle before, apart from just this week. She was one of the Beuxbatons students if she could remember correctly. The girl hadn't come up to introduce herself but Callie gave her a nod just the same. Hopefully she could see it in the darkness.

Eh well.
Another new student? "Hello there, welcome to Divination." No name...no problem, Callie would just try and match his face to a name from the role. She had seen him around the Castle before though.

And here was her Quidditch Captain!! Mood lighting? What was he talking about? Callie looked around, honestly confused for a moment until the boy clarified and mentioned that holiday. "Haaaiiii Professor!!" BEAM. "Excellent class timing I must say." And more beaming. Coming straight from here Common Room, same floor and everything.
She took note of the dim lighting in the room. Questions, she had questions but first she needed a seat. Alexa found a seat that suited her just well and flopped down in it. A little ways over was a French girl she'd seen in the competition. So they were sharing their Common Rooms and now they were sharing classes too? Mmk, sure.
"Are we gonna get to practice pyromancy today?" Juuuuuust curious.
And there was Alexa. Professor Elwood was happy to see that she was still taking on Divination. She was a hyper child, yes, but still a good student.
"Well good, I'm glad it worked well in your schedule. And who knows, maybe?" Callie chuckled and tried to look mysterious. Didn't work out too well but the Gryffindor would find out soon enough.

Uh-oh. Were they going to be having a seance? Because that's what the professor's table made it seem like..... She was just going to sit as far back as she possibly could. Close to the door here. Yep. "Hello, professor." No malevolent spirits please.....

Another new student, one that she had seen around but never before in her lessons. She didn't come up and introduce herself but that was probably because of nerves. Callie herself didn't always talk to the professors when she was a student. The small Slytherin got a nod anyways.

Every now and then Divination would cross with her own era of expertise, Astronomy; then it was interesting.
Even if this class was not going to be a good one, Karina needed to be here, and so here she was. She walked up to the Professor sitting at her desk and nodded. "Hello, I am Karina, one of the students from Durmstrang, I believe I will be joining classes from now on," she stated cool as ice. It was respectful to introduce oneself to the Professor, and so Karina was respectful, not friendly. She wanted to give the impression that Durmstrang was respectful, and so needed to be respected in turn, and that they were not here to make an abundance of friends. This was a competition.
And now there was a Durmstrang student approaching her. What did she say? 'Thanks for sitting in on my lesson but I can't give you any credit or house points?' The girl was speaking first though.
Her accent wasn't as thick as she first expected but she seemed polite. "Well, I'm glad you've chosen to attend Divination Karina. I'm Professor Elwood." Calista greeted the girl in her American accent.

So the little boy currently rushing in to ensure he got a seat beside the silent, new Slytherin was one of her's? She noticed the blue on his robes. Ah yes. "Good day Mr. Rider."

So she would be in attendance.
Once adjusted to the dim light, Bronislava's eyes fell on the eldest person at the front of the room - the supposed professor. She allowed the ends of her lips to curl ever so slightly in a faint, cordial smile as she stopped just in front of her to greet her. "Good day. I am Bronislava Zvonimir. Zhank you for allowing me to sit in on your lesson." No, she wasn't thrilled about having to attend a lesson she did not see as a true science or wizardry, but she would represent her school with poise and respect. She had manners and would use them.
The Durmstrang girl then turned to find a seat, her eyes falling on the few already seated. She recognized the girl Minerva whom she had met at Hogsmeade and gave her a curt nod before starting to walk her way. But then she saw another, more familiar person and veered in her classmate's direction. "Karina," she greeted simply before taking the seat next to her. Pulling out her parchment, she scribbled a few things in Croatian, giving a glance to her surroundings then back at Karina.
Another friend from the North, this one a tad nicer it seemed than the first. "You're very welcome Miss Z-Zvonimir. I'm Professor Elwood and I'm happy you chose to attend Divination." Smiling nervously, she watched the girl take a seat next to the other one. Hopefully she had pronounced her name right.

"Hello dear." The blonde professor said as the girl entered the classroom and took her seat quietly.

And the windows were obscured but Tobias went to go and sit by them anyway 'cause WHY NOT. He gave the professor a little wave as he went, and one of his big signature grins.
Ready to learn. Yup. Right here. BRING ON THE KNOWLEDGE.
A big smile from Tobias was always welcome. The Hufflepuff got one in return as he took his seat.

Miss. Callie was flattered but at the same time....was it apparent that she wasn't married, that she was ALONE?!
"Strom...you're welcome, thank you for coming." Callie's American accent sounded strange against the usual British and Scottish ones you heard around the Castle on a daily basis but even more so with the students from these foreign European schools.

"Mischa welcome." Callie smiled at the boy and watched him take his seat next to Strom and the girls from his school. She wondered how many more she would have, hopefully they all were okay with lessons in English.

The next person to enter the room was a Hogwarts student, more specifically Alice the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain. "Hello Miss Fischer." Callie said to her in greeting as she watched her sit with Mr. Branxton.

Was she blushing? Hopefully not. These foreign kids knew how to make her feel younger than she was.
"Bonjour and welcome to Divination Mr. Volclain." Callie tried to sound competent when saying the French phrase in her greeting.

Well Calista was always supportive of unorthodox forms of seating but the girl would have to find a new seat, with a table once the activity began.

"Hello Professor" the blonde greeted cheerfully as she passed her desk, she took a seat near there and was excited to see what they were going to learn, divination was her favorite.
"Hello Miss Jones, it's good to see you again." Professor Elwood watched the Gryffindor take her seat.

Now the hard part of not falling asleep. Which would be really bad.
There was one of her Prefects! She was beginning to worry.
"Hello Nigel, doing well today?" The Ravenclaw Head of House asked brightly.

West entered the room in silence and quickly found a spot in the back of the room. He seemed upset but it could just be the dark lighting. He could handle things for himself but if it persisted through the whole lesson she would talk to him after class.

"Hi there!" Callie said summoning the same excitement the girl had.

Another first year? It was really nice to see the students taking her lessons from such a young age. Some still waited until their third year but others were a tad more adventurous. "Hello there, and welcome."

"Hello there Miss Moretti." The Slytherin girl was always a pleasure.

Once she'd climbed the millions of unnecessarily confusing, moving stairs, Derry got into the classroom and greeted the teacher with a bright smile. "Hi Professor Elwood." Lets learn.

So when he walked into class and saw that he would be subjected to having to deal with them MORE he just rolled his eyes. 'Course they'd be here.
Elwood. Focus. "Morning Professor. You look lovely today." His heart was only half into that compliment. See what they were doing to his mood?
"Mr. Stark, thank you and it's good to see you again." His compliment was only slightly inappropriate today--progress.

"It's nice to meet you Miss Romanov." Callie nodded to the girl, she seemed happier than the others which was a good thing the blonde supposed.
"Right well it seems like we are all here." Calista flicked her wand at the trap door and it slammed shut. Harder than she meant to make it, but it worked. "First of all welcome to the first Divination Lesson of the term to all of you first year students, transfers, and foreign visiting friends and also to you awesome returning Divination students." She clapped her hands together, creating the jingling sound of her many bangles and bracelets that usually accompanies her presence. "Now you all are probably wondering why the first lesson of the term is happening all the way at this point in the term. I've been heavily immersed in research on the topic of African forms of Divination a university colleague of mine is working on and I've been having speak to many witches and wizard specialists as well as researching various libraries for texts our beloved Hogwarts library doesn't have." Yes, some interesting yet time consuming work. "For now though the Quaffle is in his hands so I will have plenty of time to devote to teaching once again."
Speaking of which, they had a lesson to begin. "The classroom is dark for a larger purpose today than just my personal choice or Miss Phillip's idea of nap-taking. Miss Cambridge suggested the possibility of learning Pyromancy but that also isn't the topic for today. Any ideas on what forms of Divination we would need this particular lighting for?"
OOC: The lesson has now begun, please do not post your character entering the lesson late because points will be taken. If you wish to take part in the lesson just post as if your student has already been present.

Once seated, Cat found her attention had been focused on the foreign students again, though she noted that they really just passed glances and comments among themselves and that was really no fun. Really, she'd rather find out why the lighting was so dim then watch the foreign kids smirk at each other.
Boring.
Her attention then focused on the professor, and Cat pondered her question. "I suppose Ceromancy, professor? Reading candles and fire. Surely you'd need to be able to focus on the flame and the smoke and so forth, yes?"
Kace liked the idea of having the room somewhat dark. He probably could even take a nap in here but he wasn't going to. He needed to pay attention. Plus the teacher might yell at him if he did. He was zoning out a little bit but he heard the professor's question.
He had no idea which type of divination he would be studying. But he heard the other student's idea and that could work. Maybe something to do with candles? Because to see the candle fire you needed a dark room right? He agreed with him but he honestly didn't know the answer. This is why he was here in this classroom.... to learn.

Elwood had nice smiles. Yeah. That didn't stop him from furrowing his eyebrows slightly at the question. What were they learning? Alec tapped his chin thoughtfully as he looked around the classroom. There were clues here, yeah? And the most obvious one was the darkness. Which meant... that most of the types of divination in the textbook weren't going to be useful since they probably required lighting. And some of them were really weird.
... Yeah... he wasn't going to go into that now.
Speaking of textbook, Alec's gaze landed on his copy and... he frowned. Could they have a peek inside? Because apart from pyromancy, which Candy Girl had mentioned, the seventeen year old couldn't think what else they could be learning. It just... seemed right, pyromancy. He narrowed his eyes slightly, as if he was trying to read the textbook without having to open it. He had read this, though. Sometime before but... it had been read! So... why was this hard?
... Guessing. THAT was what he was going to do. "Professor?" he started, looking over at the woman and raising his hand, "Erm... what about Libanomancy? Divination by interpreting incense smoke?" ... Which... would tie in well with the suggestion Cat made, actually. But they couldn't learn two types of divination in one lesson...

HMM. What Divination required little light and more dark? Kat thought of it for a while. She wasn't exactly sure what, because she had a lot in mind. She was going to say pyromancy, but then Professor Elwood said it wasn't. So that narrowed it down to ceromancy. Kat was going to raise her hand.
But Cat beat her to it. Aw.
That was okay though. Kat gave exemptions to Cat. She raised her hand anyway, with a grin on her face. "I agree with Cat, Professor. We might be learning Ceromancy." If they were wrong, that was fine. They were pretty much just guessing and all. No harm done with that.
