So, fifth year was over. First year at Hogwarts was done. Schuyler was thinking about how strange it was that she was technically now a sixth year. Only two years left of school. Two years and then what? The Gryffindor still had no idea and seeing as it was summer and OWLs were over and there was very little pressure in her life at the moment - apart from the bit about figuring out what she might want to DO when she finished school - she pushed the thought from her mind and let her feet lead her on towards the back part of the train.
As she passed on by compartment after compartment, she peeked in to see which were full and which ones held the little ones and wheeeeeere she might eventually decide to sit.
Kace finally made it to the back compartment. He actually liked the back because it was less crowded and plus he had more room to put his stuff. He couldn't believe his second year ended already. It seemed like yesterday he was a firstie going into Hogwarts and now his third year was coming around the corner.
When he finally managed to find a compartment, he put his trunk in there and owl Charlene and got comfy. He put his feet up and began to draw. He actually liked looking at the passing fields and felt a sense of ease.
Laura sat down in an empty compartment. She couldn't believe it. Next term she was going to be a seventh year. She would also have to spend the term without Minnie which wasn't very nice. Though she knew it was important that Minnie got on with her life and she would still have Ella and Sophie.
Laura looked around and took out a book to read, she wondered if anyone would come and speak to her. If anyone did that then she would obviously stop reading because otherwise it would be rude. She thought about finding Minnie but didn't think her friend would want disturbing.

Adi had already stowed his luggage and was not happily skipping his way down to the corridor of the train. It was hard to believe a year had gone by so fast and he was going to be in second year the next term.
He peered into open compartments as he passed, looking for familiar faces. That's when he spotted Kace. "Kace!'' Adi hopped into the compartment. "Can I join you?'' Of course he won't ind but Adi just had to make sure.

Meeeerlin, everything seemed to be happening so fast!
Sophie made her trunk and Brady's cage float all the way to the train and was careful enough not to let them bump into anything or anyone as she walked through the train corridors trying to find anyone she knew.
Whoa, apparently people were taking their time. The sixth year only found Laura at the back of the train! "Hey there!" The brunette greeted her friend as she opened the door and walked in. "Reading, huh?" Sophie chuckled, placing her trunk in the compartment above their heads and holding Brady's cage on her lap as she sat down. "You've been doing that a lot lately, haven't you??" She smiled, resting both of her hands on top of the cage, not putting her wand away. "Not that it's a bad thing, of course!" Sophie herself had spent most of that term reading as well, after all!

Laura looked at Sophie and smiled. "Yeah. I want to try and get this book finished before the start of next term." Laura really loved reading and was finding it very interesting. "I know I have but I have 4 years of work to catch up on." Laura sighed, she had only achieved Seven Owls last year and she hated that fact.
Laura smiled at her friend. "I've read up on some cool spells, I want to try next term with you." Laura thought it would be cool to learn a few of the spells she had been reading up on with Sophie.
Laura just sat there quietly a few seconds before she spoke to her friend. "So you looking forwards to being a seventh year?" Laura wasn't sure what she thought about it but well there was nothing they could do about it. "What you doing this summer?"
Laura looked at Sophie and smiled. "Yeah. I want to try and get this book finished before the start of next term." Laura really loved reading and was finding it very interesting. "I see!" Sophie said still smiling. Four years to catch up on?? The brunette laughed softly at her friend's remark. She remembered well how Laura was in their first four years... it made sense she wanted to catch up. "It's good that you want to catch up, Laura! I also have a few things I want to read before the start of next term. Especially now that we can do magic outside school!" The girl BEAMED. She had been dreaming of this day for YEARS, literally! "I still can't believe we can do magic back home now! That's going to be brilliant!" She couldn't wait!!
Oooooooooooooooooooooooo, spells!! "Absolutely! We can totally practise as much as you want!" Sophie exclaimed happily, sitting up straighter and everything in excitement. She knew she would be practising Charms all year around even if Laura didn't come along. Though she had promised herself she wouldn't pretty much ignore her friends or anything while focusing so much on studying Charms... that had been a bad experience and she had learned her lesson. Yep!
Then Laura asked her if she was looking forward to being a seventh year. "Hmm..." Sophie looked thoughtful for a few seconds as she looked outside the window. "It will be strange coming back for our last year..." Merlin, now that she thought about it... it sounded really sad! "But we still have a whole year to go, so I suppose it shouldn't be that bad... for now." She shrugged her shoulders a little. "This summer? I don't really know. Probably the same as always?" Seeing family and friends and that kind of stuff. "Oh, and I'll be practising Charms as well this time!"GRIIIIIN and MEGA BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM!!!! "You?"

Laura smiled at Sophie. "That is cool." Laura thought it was cool, she seriously wished she could just sit by a pool and read all day this summer but she knew it wasn't possible and she doubted it would be possible for Sophie. "I'm also thinking of doing something for you and Ella this summer." Laura had thought it would be good to make some sort of book for her friends to remember all the jolly times they had together. She would have to do it and give it to them at the end of next term, that was a great plan.
Laura listened some more. "Oh I know what you mean." She seriously couldn't wait to do magic around the house and to help her mother with all the house work and other things like that. "You know Sophie, now we are legally adults we have to be responsible with our wands." Laura wasn't going to just do spells for the fun of it she would only do it if it was needed.
"Awesome." Laura beamed, seriously she couldn't wait to spend some time with Sophie because this year had flown by and other then spending time in the dorm together they hadn't seen each other because they had been so busy with other things. "I'll have to find two good spells for us to learn." Laura was going to do that other the summer.
"I know what you mean, a year is still pretty far away." Laura said truthfully. Even if it did seem to fly by now. She just hoped she could get used to Minnie not being there but she was sure she could.
Laura listened to what Sophie had planned and then she blushed when she asked what she was doing. "Oh I'm.. eh.. I'm just planning on hanging out with DJ." Laura said truthfully. "I eh.. I eh." Laura stopped there for a bit and then decided to changed the sentence. "I'm eh yeah I'm also spending time with the family before I do a few other things this summer." Laura know she must have turned red but she hoped Sophie wouldn't notice. "So want to meet up in Diagon Alley this summer?" Laura wanted the subject off DJ and this was the best way she could think of.

Finally, the end of the longest term EVER.
Personally, she'd been ready to go since somewhere around....September 1st but that hadn't been possible and only got worse before getting better only to go ahead and get horrid right after. The Gryffindor wasn't sure which she would have termed worst; last term with all it's dementors and poor Mr. Firth or this term with falling in love.
Lex found their usual back compartment, the one they always seemed to end up in and threw the door open. Look at that, people knew to leave it empty for them. She walked inside and flopped down on one side, leaving Felix enough room to get comfy as well. "One year, we have to learn how to make the train go faster." She idly commented, tossing her candy bag to the ground between the two seats so Lottie could help herself. There was plenty in there courtesy of Wade. She was gonna miss him.

Finally, summer! Sort of, they still needed to get to London.
Personally, she couldn't complain about this year, right? It was quite... eventful. And sunny. Compared to last year's dementors, of course. They didn't get to practice Lex's patronus now, did they? Well, it's no use bringing it up anyway. That was the downside to summer, no magic. And Lex wasn't doing any kind of academic work over vacations. Neither was Lottie. Though, maybe a little bit. If only someone hadn't mentioned what they'd asked on some OWLs...
Lottie simply took a seat. Mags followed. Sorry, best friend, we're not in the mood for candy right now. Not the one she wanted. Maybe later. "Or perhaps not take the train at all. You know there are many ways to come and go." Mmmhmmm. Except for the seventh years, since they weren't coming back as students. Ever. Sad, no? Only in regards to Jake Keller."It goes faster than most, at least." So this could take longer. Seriously.
"You're coming the day after tomorrow to my place, right?" she asked, relaxing against the seat, barely missing the pygmy puff that swiftly moved out of the way.

The fact that Lottie didn't immediately help herself to any of the candy didn't bother Lex even a little. She would have some when she was ready or not at all if she wasn't in the mood. Either way, the bag was staying right there on the floor for easy access by both. She stretched until she was occupying nearly the entire seat and let Felix have the spot on her stomach. That was his spot.
"You know, that idea isn't half bad. I hear flying carpets can do wonders...do you know how to fly one of those?" Because she was sure it took more than sitting tight and hoping the piece of cloth knew where they were going. And she actually liked this idea, she did. "I think we could pull it off, so long as we get that invisibility cloak we've been harping on for ages--" Lex raised her head and stared over at her best friend. "You ever get the feeling we'll never get one if we keep waiting on someone else to get it for us?" They'd been hoping for one for ages so they could take a proper trip into the Forbidden Forest but it still hadn't happened.
"I say we invest some galleons of our own. It's be worth it. Maybe two then sew them together." Which begged the question. "Do you know how to sew?" Forgive her for having a father who never taught her. Hah. But really, could they?
"And of course. I'll be there around noon, considering that's probably around the time I'll wake up." Now that it was summer there was no logical reason for her to be up at all kinds of ungodly hours.

Well, now we're offended. Our ideas are always good, Lex. Not half anything.
It was with that thought that Lottie started to look out the window, clearly distracted by, what? Flying carpets? Didn't they have a lesson on them back in Flying? No, it was probably before they came to Hogwarts, something she'd read about while assembling new yearbooks, yeah? Probably. Flying carpets, though, Merlin, imagine the disaster if she shared one with...., "Wait, what?" Invisibility cloaks? That always gets her attention but... how did they go from flying carpets to invisibility cloaks? Emphasis in they. Also, there's no WE in invisibility cloaks, Lottie has been wanting one since forever. Had Lex, too? She didn't strike her as one who would wear it for some reason. Loudness, perhaps.
Smirk. Whatever she was thinking had nothing to do with invisibility cloaks, but Lex's words rang a bell. "It is clear we're not going to get it from someone else...," she would've gotten one by now, "...we have to get it ourselves." Obviously, that's what Lex was implying. "I'm up for it, really, but I'm not sewing anything." Couldn't they get Cassia to do that for them? Surely, the Slytherin knows how to sew.
Okay, so, now Lottie laughed a little, "After noon, got it."Wink.
Brodie walked into a compartment and shook his head slightly, this was really the end... The end to his two short years at Hogwarts. He sighed and laid his head against the window. He felt a couple tears building up and he tried to blink them away but it wasn't working... He gave a weak laugh, "Big baby..." He muttered to himself and shook his head. He looked up at his bag and gave a weak smile and grabbed his old run down robe. He'd pulled one of the sleeves out and there written on the inside was one of his old songs... He'd run out of paper and instead of risking forgetting the lyrics he'd scribbled them onto the yellow lining. He laughed as he read over it and shook his head, wiping the tears away, I never wanted to come back here at the beginning of the term... Now I don't want to leave, of course... He just sat there though, looking at the old lyrics and trying to remember the melody he'd put with them.

Lottie's puzzled expression caused her brows to arch just a little. "Don't tell me you've already forgotten. Remember right after we got caught with Audrey in the Forbidden Forest we said we'd get one and try our luck again?" Of course they never made any further plans concerning the forest but who knew what the future held? Certainly not them because neither foresaw this brilliant idea to take a flying carpet to school. They were gonna make this happen, yes?
"I'm proposing we get a flying carpet and some invisibility cloaks, it'd be super easy. I think we can find all that at Wiseacres but I'd have to check again...probably let you know when I get to your house." Which meant a trip to Diagon Alley tomorrow? Okay, but only if she was allowed to stop for ice-cream or something.
It was good Lottie was keeping an open mind with all this...except with the sewing. Lex blinked at her. "Lottie be reasonable. I can't sew to save my life. How's about we try adhaero--no, that'd never work if we want it for next term." No magic and all. Gosh. This no magic thing was getting even more annoying by the second. Someone had to sew and it couldn't be her.
Lex laughed. "You know me so well." Around noon...after noon...it was the same thing really, for her.

Oops? Yes, we completely forgot. Sorry about that. "Quite frankly, I did." There was no reason to hide this. Her best friend knew her very well, and the fact that she brought it up only made Lottie believe Lex already knew her words were true. "But that's so nice of you. Reminding me."Smile. "I didn't need an invisibility cloak last time." And none of them were caught. Something else was behind that, no doubt, so it didn't reaaaally count.
Still, luck was on her side that time.
Wait a minute, though. "What are we getting the carpets for? I understand the cloaks, but the carpets? Are they just for Hogwarts?" Because Lottie wasn't getting to Hogwarts in one of those. Could they be faster than a train? What about the luggage, eh? Questions, she has them.
LOL. Reasonable? It's not our problem you can't sew, Lex. "Get Cassia to do it. She must know how to. Or at least know someone who knows." Like Oakey's girlfriend, doesn't she know how to sew? Most likely. Honestly, Lottie could make time and learn how, but this was not what she had to learn this summer. It was far from it. Less useful, too.
"As well as you know me."Wink again. Which is why it was surprising that Lex told her to be reasonable. Her. Lotus. The voice of reason. Seriously, surprising.

Yeah, she figured as much. It was written all over Lottie's face but it was fine. The girl was always good on reminding her about stuff even when she didn't want to remember so returning the favour every now and then was acceptable. "No problem. I have a selective memory." Very selective. Things that had the potential to be epic were, without a question, stored for future use. "You mean last term? Merlin it would have come in handy. Can you believe Firth busted us again? Blamed me for the whole thing." Despite there being at least five other people there and she couldn't even get mad about it considering...you know...it'd be bad form now that he was...ahem.
Lex shook her head. Definitely not.
"They're for whenever really. I mean I'd wanna give 'em a go when we're heading back to Hogwarts but if we get it right I suspect we could try even before the start of next term. Maybe take it for a ride over London?" Or was that a bit bold for two nearly Fifth Years, still learning and all that? Being the Gryffindor she was, she was finding it hard to consider the risks, hence asking Lottie.
....er...she'd never thought about that. "I dunno if she can sew, I've never thought to ask. It's never been important before now." She confessed contemplatively. "How many do carpets typically seat?" Because now that they'd brought her up she couldn't just not invite her and Cassia was a snake. She wasn't gonna sew something for nothing. Heck, Lex wasn't a Snake and she wouldn't sew something for nothing.
Lex nodded content with the idea of them knowing each other so well. "This is truth right here." She reached into the bag and fished out a pack of jelly slugs. Nice.

Marigold saw a familiar person in the compartment next to her, so she slid open the door and sat inside. She grinned at Kace.
"Hey Kace! I can't believe its summer already!" She would be going home, then staying with her mom's parents with her family. She had received a letter this morning saying how her Grandpapa got sick, very sick, which still caused her stomach to twist. But surely it wasn't that bad of a sickness, right?
Anyway, Marigold turned to the other person in the compartment. "Hi! ...Adi, right?"

"Awesome!'' Adi said and happily dropped onto the spot Kace had cleared for him. He looked around. "Where's Mari?'' he asked curiously. Maybe she'd get here later?
"Very much!'' the soon to be second year told his friend. "Every single moment. Well, except when Hannah made me loose all my teeth.'' Stupid Slytherin girl but he was not going to have anything to do with her anymore. Nope, that chapter was closed. He would stop trying to be her friend. "All the lessons were awesome. And so were the Professors. Except Professor French. He's too weird.'' Adi wondered if the man would be back next term.
"So, Kace, are you gonna be spending all your time home during the summer? Or are you taking a trip to anywhere?'' Adi turned at the sound of the familiar voice. Oh he knew she would turn up soon. "Hi Mari. Yep, that's my calling name.'' He grinned.
She shrugged at the other girl and said a short "Sure," before moving on back. "I couldn't find any ahead, so we're gonna want to see if there's any back here. Otherwise we'll have to double up with someone." Cue face here. As soon as they found a nice empty compartment, Tora was going to pull out her book and read. She stomped a bit more down the corridor, barely looking into the compartments until. FINALLY. She came upon one that was completely empty, deserted of all life.
She dropped her charmed pack with all her books off on the seat and sat down tiredly. She took a minute to calm herself down before looking up to see if Adrienne had followed.
Well Tora definitely seemed more morose than usual. Adrienne frowned at her friend, who was usually annoyingly buoyant, but shrugged and followed her to the back of the train, her trunk scraping slightly as it dragged along the floor where its missing wheel was. She plopped down with a sigh of relief, stretched her legs out, taking up an obnoxious amount of space, and then settled into the seat, wriggling for a moment to get comfortable and then smiling in satisfaction.
"So..." she said, since Tora didn't seem like she was going to do much of anything, "You excited for the summer? Adrienne certainly was. Freedom! France! Friends she hadn't spoken to since last August! It was going to be a blast.
Kace then heard the compartment door open. He wondered who it could be and then he saw...Marigold! He grinned happily. "Hey Marigold! Oh i know! This term went by wayyy too fast. I felt like we just got here and now we are going home." He looked over at the castle passing through his window.
His parents had a lot planned this summer. He would be going on a cruise with his whole family. Then after the cruise, he would go to sports camp and play soccer with his buds. He was happy to go to his soccer family because he did miss his buds. "What are your plans this summer?" he asked Mairgold.

Was she excited for the summer? Tora had thought so until she had gotten the letter from Mum (actually forwarded via owl by Gram to school) that she would be going home. "I guess. It's just that I'm going home first. And I don't want to see... you know," Tora had mentioned the twins a couple times to Adrienne, but she wasn't sure her friend would pick up on the reference. She crossed her arms and stared crossly out the window at the world flashing by. Hmpf.
"Want to go to the trolly?" she asked suddenly, reaching into her bag to pull out her small allowance of money. She didn't have much left, and she wanted to save as much as possible for Diagon Alley later in the summer so she only pulled out a sickle. It should be enough to buy her something.
Nice.
Selective memory. YES, WE KNOW. Interesting things the ones her best friend remembers, you know? Very interesting indeed. "Yes, last term. I had luck on my side, anyway." We're not denying that an invisibility cloak is useful, but it hadn't been necessary. Looking back, she was kind of grateful she didn't have it back then. Who knows what today would be like if she had.
Lottie nodded, though, but decided to say nothing on the matter. For respect to Firth's memory or something. Of course he'd blame Lex, he'd already had a bad experience with the Gryffindor. They did a good job on that detention, you know?
"Not unless we can go invisible somehow." She wasn't planning on having this be her first ever article on the Daily Prophet. No. Just no. "But at Hogwarts... maybe, yes." Well, it could be fun, and there are certain things you just have to try. Wink. What's the worst that could happen, yeah? She'll probably ask Airey just to be sure.
The Hogwartian was pretty much on board. Just...things to consider.
Honestly, Lex, who is the girliest out of these three girls? Exactly. Also, sewing, it's still not important, Lex. LOL. "Well, ask her." No harm done in asking. Particularly 'for science' questions. Lottie smiled for some reason and shrugged, "Depends on the carpet. I think there was one that could seat 10 people." Was it 12? That's the least of her concerns right now, because she wasn't getting on one with nine others. "We can find one for 3, because you'll be asking Cassia, yeah?" See how she didn't mention four? Aidan Stone is out.
And yes, we agree. Truth. They do know each other very well. Yet Lottie could still get away with a few things, without Lex knowing. Fun times.
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
SPOILER!!: Pffffft

Luck. Interesting. Luck had never been there to help her before. Was it any wonder she didn't believe in it. "Lucky. Not only did we get busted but we couldn't even have the ice-cream party we'd been trying for." Such a waste. They'd all brought their own ice-cream and everything. Sigh.
And now they were talking about going invisible somehow. Lex blinked, wondering if the two had been in the same conversation at all. The sun better not have anything to do with Lottie's distraction right now.
"That's where the invisibility cloaks come in. It's why we need to sew like two of them together to make ourselves invisible while we fly over. We'd just have to find a way to cover the whole thing." Shouldn't be hard though now she was thinking they might actually need three of these cloaks. Eh. They'd work something out. Just getting in the basic idea for now. Use the cloak, fly over the country. Very basic stuff.
The when during the summer would also be another concern. Had to pick a day they wouldn't necessarily be missed.
"I'll ask, if anything I'm sure her grandmother would be happy to oblige. She's all about 'lady' stuff." And a bit of nose wrinkle at the thought. Whenever Lex slept by Cassia's it was always the same. Eat like a lady. Talk like a lady. Ladies go to be at decent hours and wake at them too. Pfffft. "Oh...." Oh they were only getting a three seater? The Fourth Fifth Year was almost afraid to ask. ".....I take it Aidan's not invited...?"
That was a part of knowing as well. Already knowing that Lottie had no intention of inviting Aidan, even if they'd resolved anything they may have had...or well...she thought they did? Come to think of it she hadn't seen them exchange a single word since the Halloween Party and that was mostly by force.
