Now that she'd taken care of the dents and scratches that the armour had received in the class battle it was time to clean it up and make it nice and shiny! She would use Tergeo first that way she could get all of that grease off if there was any though she didn't think there was.. But you know just in case. Then use Scourgify to give it a good clean afterwards. And then she would use Excolo to give it a nice polish.

Because the amour deserved to be nice and shiny and polished! Yes, it did!!

Sounded good with her. The blonde pointed her wand towards the armour and clearly said "Tergeo!" After cleaning the area she moved on down to another area, it was nice to actually have the whole armour instead of the arm this time around.

Adelaide listened as she finished off the arm, moving on to the breast plate. "That sounds interesting. And so far Runes is pretty great. I mean, this is the first time I've ever learned the subject myself." She felt behind, but she'd make up for it with lots of studying down the road. She never worried when it came to studying.

"Reparo!" She began to work her way over the breast plate. The scratches began filling in and it was nice to have company. A lot better than being alone all the time.

She shrugged at his question. "Yes and no. I'm excited...but I'm worried I'm going to screw up. It'll be my first time playing."

"I like it because its sort of every class in one: Spellwork, divination, defense, and history. And if you know what you're doing, you can pretty much use Runes for anything." He liked that. The idea that you could learn something and by learning unlock an arcane bit of magic... the reflection of knowledge being power? Yeah. West liked it.

He did some more polishing and glanced back at her, silent for a moment. "Don't be. I'll help you out. I've been playing starter since first year, me and Theo have, and we're used to teaching new players the ropes. And Ariana and Kat have been on the team for forever too, they're both good fliers and I'm sure they'd help you out if you wanted." It was a thing West did actually. He didn't mind it, she wouldn't be the first who could benefit from his experience, even if it was a little bit of a bitter pill nowadays.

Adelaide nodded. That was most definitely the case. "I will agree with you on that one. They definitely seem very useful." Hence the reason for all of the studying she was going to be having in her near future.

She continued to work on the breast plate as West polished the armor. She turned and gave him a smile. "Thanks. I've been practicing flying on my own a lot. And Derry and I have gone out a few times so I can practice with the bludgers." It was definitely nice to be able to practice the position she was actually going to be doing.

"And Botros is cool too." Which helped so much. It sucked when a good subject was wrecked by a professor what you couldn't get along with and all that.

"Excolo." West cast again and finished polishing that bit of armour. Next? Mhmm.

He nodded. "Yeah well, Derry's a good Beater." But HE was the better flyer, no contest. West spread his arms wide and put a grin on though. "But target practice." Could give it a go right? Thwacking a Bludger was one thing, but actually hitting a live target was another thing entirely. He was offering his services.... y'know, if she was up to the challenge. "Offer stands if you want to anyways. Just let me know I guess." West went back to polishing.

"Agreed." Addi hadn't had much interaction with the professor, but he seemed like a nice enough guy. That and he kind of reminded her of her grandpa. Well, the one she knew anyways.

Adelaide had finished working on the breast plate and moved over to the other arm. This one was a lot less scratched up then the first. "Reparo."

She nodded, focusing on the suit. Addi turned to him at the mention of traget practice and saw that smile on his face. "Yeah, but what if I hit you?" She wasn't saying no, but if he was as good as he said he was, they wouldn't want to lose him for any amount of time.

West followed along and started polishing up the breastplate. It wasn't a hard charm, it was one what Dylan had helped him with actually, so he could sort of relax a bit about things and not worry too much about messing the spell up.

"The thing is a Beater can't be afraid of hitting someone, and no player will fly well if they don't accept the risk of being bashed over the head with a ball of flying iron." He sorta winked at her all jauntily but really he HAD been hit seriously before, and while he obviously didn't WANT to be hit, he wasn't afraid either. "If you hit me bad then I don't deserve to play anyways, and you'll see that there's a difference between just whacking one with a bat compared with actually aiming to knock someone off their broom." By nature being a Beater meant being fearless about causing someone harm after all. "'Sides, I'd not say no to practicing dodging either y'know? Its all important."

Alright, polishing was finished. Ella stepped back and regarded the armor thoughtfully, thinking she'd done an okay job of it. Hopefully Professor Botros thought so too.

Now if she wasn't mistaken, they'd used the Impervius Charm during class last term to not only make the desks waterproof, but able to repel dust as well. At least that's what she recalled doing. Anyway, even if the charm didn't help with the dust, no water meant less rust which was awesome for the statue. It was worth a shot, yeah?

Wait, walk around in this armor? "I bet it'd be tiring, actually." But maybe cool just cause you could say you'd tried it out. "No worries, Toby. I'm too small too." Just saying.

Tapping the shoulder of the armor she was standing in front of, Ella concentrated and then said clearly, "Impervius!" Did that work? She hoped so.

Oh. Ella glanced over at Tobias and smiled a little, shrugging her shoulders. "Less time, is all." She'd gotten progressively busier as the terms went on and there was less time for exploring and things like hanging with the armor. "I do try and make time to walk by and give them a wink every now and then, though." And she grinned at the younger badger and then up at the armor.

The blonde finished up working on the armor with the Impervius Charm and bent down to shut her notebook, satisfied with her work. "Not too shabby, dude." And yes, she was totally talking to the armor.

"It'll help you loads in later years, the staying on top of your reading." Especially when OWLs came around. It was really good thinking on his part. "Believe me, Toby, no one can stay focused all the time." Especially if you had adorable hair ruffling boyfriends that insisted on being distracting during class. Just saying.

Right, just the cleaning spell to sort of compliment all the manual work he'd been doing, and then he'd be done with this homework, though nothing was stopping him from coming back another time and checking on the armour, right?

Right.

"Scourgify," Tobias muttered, wand aimed at the section he'd been focused on cleaning, which was now scorch-mark free. He couldn't SEE any real difference, probably because he had just been cleaning right there. Muggle cleaning DID work, after all. What did happen, however, was that the pieces of lint left behind from the cloth sort of vanished from the stainless steel. Tobias smiled to himself and caused the polishing spell, just for good measure. "Excolo."

Once he'd given that part of the armour a good polish, Tobias lowered his wand again and looked back up at Ella, watching her finish off with that impervius spell whilst he considered what she said. "Good point. Last year I had loads of free time. But then I didn't do any extra reading. I suppose the closer you get to the big exams, the less time you have for things like exploring and stuff." And, with the size of the castle, Tobias was sure that there was barely anyone who'd explored the entire thing, even just the places students could go.

As Ella started closing her notebook and stuff, Tobias looked at the Gryffindor suit of armour again, kinda thoughtfully. Wouldn't help to copy Ella do the Impervius Charm on this one too, would it? It was a good idea after all.

"Impervius," Tobias cast, wand raised and pointed at the armour once more. There. Done.

With that, he moved from behind the suit of armour back round to the front of it, so he was beside Ella again, and picked up the bucket of rags. He smiled at what she said about the extra reading; he was doing it all to make sure he was well prepared in the future. As for the concentration... "I've never been any good at staying focused. That probably won't change, but the more time I spend on reading and studying... well... law of averages says I might end up focusing for about as long as everyone else." It just took a lot more time and effort than it might for a lot of other students.

Tobias looked at the Hufflepuff suit of armour that Ella had been working on, and gave a wide beam. "Good job, Ella!" he said brightly, bouncing on his toes. The younger Hufflepuff reholstered his wand into the holster that was strapped to the arm that held the bucket, before focusing back on the captain again. "You heading back to the common room now?"

If she was, they could go together, y'know? Company was always awesome.

Yup, that was exactly what happened. Each term there was more work and more studying to be done and just...less time to do stuff you used to do. It wasn't all bad, though. Just different. Ella gave the younger badger a small smile and nodded her head in agreement.

Tucking her notebook under her arm, Ella stood again and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. She was definitely finished. Law of averages, eh? Ella looked up and tilted her head, considering that. "Y'know, I think you might be right." And she really did hope it worked out for him.

N'aww. He thought she did a good job? Ella grinned and considered the work he did for a moment before responding, "You too, Tobias! Great job." And she was totally heading back to the common room. "Mhm. Want to walk together?" Probably since he'd asked, yeah? "Come on, let's go."

Adelaide thought this over as she looked at the armour. West did have a point. A massive one in fact. "I guess you're right." She still didn't like the idea of seriously injuring someone though. She smiled as she saw the wink. "I will keep that in mind the next time I want to go practice some flying."

She looked at one last long gash down the arm. "Reparo." And voilá! Good as new. Well, once West finished polishing that is. "I think that should be enough, yeah?"

Tobias was short, but Ella was also kinda short too, for a sixth year anyway. He grinned at the compliment of his work and reached up to ruffle her hair. "Thanks!" He liked doing that, especially to the people who ruffled HIS hair, y'know?

Ehehe.

"Sure thing!" the tiny Hufflepuff said, before adjusting his grip on the bucket handle and moving next to Ella so he could walk alongside her all the way back to the common room.

After finishing with tergeo she decided it was time to give it the real clean now. The basic cleaning charm will do the trick of course! Pointing her wand to the feet of the armour she said clearly "Scourgify!" after cleaning those really good. She repeated the spell as she went up to the legs of the armour. It was better to clean the armour piece be piece instead of just all together. Once the legs were nice and shiny she moved onto the chest of the armour.

And then onwards to the arms one first and then the other. And lastly it was the face of the armour. Stepping back after she finished with the cleaning she smiled.

Caleb wasn't sure how he felt about having to CLEAN for homework. First he had to pay to get to Herbology class, then he had to clean for house points? This had to be breaking some sort of child labor law. Why couldn't the house elves do this while he did an essay or something like a normal student?

Yes. Caleb would rather do an essay than clean. That was totally normal behavior!

As he wandered into the armor gallery, he found a number of people getting their work done already. He wandered over to one of the suits he'd been working with in class and examined the runes. Overall, it looked pretty good, but there were a few scratches. He took out his wand and waved it.

"Reparo!" he exclaimed, watching as the rune repaired itself, and a nearby crack in the armor fixed itself as well. Oh, he hadn't thought to look for the scratches and such as well - he should PROBABLY do that...

So now that she had repaired all the dents and scratches, and the armour had been wonderfully cleaned it was time to polish that baby!! What was it. Nerida sat down on the floor, "Excuba....No....Excito, Excima... None of these sound even drastically like the spell I am thinking of!!" See this is why she should have just teamed up with some other person that way they could help her remember the spells...

Though in a way that was bad, she would probably have to at least know these spells for NEWTS, right? Sighing she sat up even though that laying position was fun. Back to trying to remember the spell. "Excolo. Nah thats not it. Excolte.." Sighing she looked around, Caleb was there but would he know he was a first year after all? Maybe she had it in her notes... She would look there before bothering the little guy he looked into it....

Now that the scratches were all repaired, it was time to shine the armour! Caleb only knew one cleaning spell, but he was keeping his ears peeled for some other spells as well. He noticed that they were using that polishing spell, and he'd forgotten about it until now when he saw them doing it. That would do just nicely!

"Excolo!" he said as he traced the leg of the armour he was working on. It was definitely getting shiner! Success!

Turning her head sharply towards Caleb. So thats what it was she mentally slapped her hand onto her forehead repeatedly she had said that! Why couldn't she just believe in herself? Goodness! "Thanks Caleb your the best!!!" Though the boy would probably have no clue what she was thanking him for she thought it was nice just to send him a thanks.

And with that she picked up her wand from the floor after she set it down when she layed down and stood up. She could do this. Pointing it at the armour she said "Excolo," and started to trace the arm of the armour. Yay, it was already looking shiny and polished!!

Caleb noticed that he wasn't going to be able to just clean the statue using the polishing spell - there were still some gross parts of the armour that Excolo was just NOT getting clean. Great. He was momentarily distracted when someone called out his name...what? Who was that? How did she know his name??? "Umm...you're welcome?" he said. He had no idea what he did but he figured he'd at least be polite.

Ok, back to business!

Caleb waved his wand and aimed at a particularly dirty part of the armour's leg and muttered "Scourgify!" and waited to see what would happen. Well, it got a BIT cleaner, but there was still some yuckiness there. Ugh.

Kace made his way to the Armor Gallery. He saw on the noticeboard that he could clean the armor guys they used in the class. That seemed easy enough. He remembered doing cleaning spells in his first year. He thought he remembered some of them. Let's see which ones needed cleaning. He found on suit of armor that needed cleaning from his house. Perfect....

He stood in the front of it, he noticed one rune needed repairing. Umm...what was that spell again....uhhh...Reparo! Yup that is what it was. It was so simple yet Kace had a little brain fart. It had been a long day to say the least.

He stood in front of the big guy and pointed his wand and said, "Reparo!" at the rune and then it fixed! He smiled and was glad he got THAT spell down. Now onto the other cleaning spells he had to do.

"Of course." West agreed easily. He was right. Four years of playing on the team meant he knew what he was on about see? He smiled though and gave her a nod. "Yeah just let me know, drag me out if you have to." Wouldn't have to, West had a tendency of dropping everything to go flying.

With Adelaide done repairing, West polished the last bit of arm and then nodded. "Looks good to me." And now other people were showing up to do stuff. Wouldn't want to do it all and have none left for anyone else and all. He paused to check some of the runes, they were looking good to him. He did consider invoking them again though. Maybe he would before leaving.

"Thanks for letting me work with you." The tall Slytherin added. It went faster than it might have alone for sure.

Ok, all done with that suit!

Now he needed to clean at LEAST one more otherwise Caleb would feel like he hadn't helped enough. Also, he wanted points. Obviously. That was always the motivating factor for him. So he moved on to the next suit of armour, which was on SERIOUSLY bad shape. The runes and such were all scratched up, and almost unrecognizable. Well, that had to be fixed ASAP!

He waved his wand at the poor suit of armour. "Reparo!" he said. He didn't know if it was because he had practiced it already, or if he'd just gotten lucky, but the scratches almost vanished completely with just one spell. Awesome!

Kace was going off in his head what cleaning spells he could use. He listed them off on his fingers. Alright....One of them he knew was Scourgify. Two he knew was Tergeo. He remembered Minnie taught him that spell when he did laundry and he knew a couple more but he could start off with those two right?

He saw the rune repaired and now onto the cleaning business. He pointed his wand at the suit and said..."Scourgify!" and then the suit was clean. Awesome! He smiled with glee. He did one spell. Maybe he could try out on the other places. He pointed his wand at one of the spots on the armor he thought could use the most cleaning, he pointed at it and said, "Scourgify!" and then it was spick and span. It was totally clean.

He was getting better at this. Maybe he could try Tergeo...but he didn't know how it would work on armor. He would just stick to the spell he was confident with.

Okay, so there was no way Sophie was going to write a two-foot-long parchment about Heimdall--whoever that was. Cleaning the armor, although really something she thought the house elves should do, seemed so much easier and faster. So with her wand in hand, Sophie made her way to the third floor and joined the group of students already slaving away.

Did she know what she was doing? Er, ...no. But there were loads of older students here, so the plan was to latch onto one of them and just follow the leader. So having said that, Sophie scanned the crowd, looking for someone who probably knew what they were doing but wasn't already working with someone.

The way she saw it, she had two options. Stay by the study tables in her Common Room and write an essay on a dude who's name she couldn't even pronounce right or breeze by the armour gallery, throw around a few spells, then LEAVE. Full credit right there. She probably didn't have to clean most of them. There were a few people already here and at work. Good on them, so long as they left something to clean. If not, best believe she was cleaning what they'd already cleaned. No shame in going over good work, you know?

Lex glanced around the room trying to find a suit she could have to herself. People here had partners, she did not and would not be a third wheel. Especially not with this nice one right here.

"Hellooooo Mr. Suit of Armour." In all honesty...he didn't look that dirty, but she wasn't about to admit that to Professor Botros, not when there were shoulder pats on the line. What he didn't know wouldn't send him into cardiac arrest. She liked that. The whole him not dying.

Ahem, a quick clean to start would be nice. "Scourgify!"

Now Kace had to think of another spell to use. It was on the tip of his tongue. He remembered his mother using it to like block the dust off his bed. Well not block but shield it....he was snapping his fingers and then repel came to mind. It clicked! It was Impervius! He heard Tobias use it.

He smiled and was glad he thought of it. Well he got this statue well cleaned with the help of Scourgify. He pointed his wand at the statue and said, "Impervious!" and then nothing happened.....

Huh.......

Maybe he said it wrong? He nodded and thought that could be it. He shrugged and tried it again. He pointed his wand at the statue of armor and said, "Imper-vi-us!" and then it worked! He was smiling and standing there proud of himself. Now onto scrubbing it's feet and the floor around it.
