Ella was in the market for some circus related decor, y'know. She knew just where to get the decor too! In the box the Professor had placed to the side, yeah? Yeah!

The blonde moseyed on over, a slight spring in her step. She liked this whole gargoyle assignment. It was different and fun and she got to decorate things. All good stuff. Yup. Now what would she nee- O_O Aw! A little circus ball! Bob the gargoyle could try and balance on this, right? Right! And was that a little unicycle? Heh. She'd be needing one of those too! Oh and there were some benches and a platform. Bob would need a platform so he could be the center of attention, obviously. Colorful streamers and confetti would be nice as well. Y'know, cause people always liked lots of color. Beam! All good stuff.

Arms full, the sixteen year old headed back to her seat and began to set up her ring.

Now that she had the circus ring Minerva needed to work on getting it to look like a circus. She had only been to one once in her life time so she tried to remember exactly what it looked like.

First thing first she looked down at her small very small circus ring. Well how was she going to get anything decorated in that. No this wasn't going to do, so she pulled her wand and did the movement Magnus Centrum. Smiling to herself now that was better.

Looking around she found the stuff Bellaire said they could use and walked over. Now what could she decorate with. Oh here was some small pieces of colored paper. Minerva picked those up and walked back over to her circus ring. Twisting them she pointed her wand and stuck them to each side of her ring. That was better, everything is better with streamers hanging for decoration.

Now she went back to the box and looked around again. Oh little flags, yes what is a circus without these. Picking a few up, but leaving some she walked back over and stuck them in each corner of the ring. This was actually a very fun lesson and she was highly enjoying herself.

“Foll…ium” she tried the sounds over a bit but it didn’t seem to fit quite right. “Folium” there faster was better, the slower she said it the more she got stuck on the sounds. Wondering if it was right or if her brain was just messing with her. “Indu-ant” she tried the second half and frowned.

Pouty-faced frowns were becoming all too natural on a normally beaming face.

“Folium Induant” she tried it all together again and it fit…again, the slower made it sound worse. Not worse, just like it didn’t exactly fit. She picked up the leaf and set it on the table in front of her. “Folum Induant” she lightly tapped it and watched as the leaf began to morph and grow becoming a small gargoyle sized vest! With button holes but no buttons.

Taking out her textbook she began to search and search for the right transfigurative spell to stick buttons onto it. Ah right - a gluing charm might work. She beamed at the ingenious idea.

Now to try to make this incantation and wand movement to work together and turn this wooden box into a circus ring. Meh.

Penelope eyed the box, deciding to first just try to imagine it as a circus ring. Imagining things and picturing it in your mind was usually always really important to spells, especially transfiguration ones, she'd learned. So she forced herself to just focus on that for about a minute, trying to make sure the image was clear in her head.

A minute was the limit though because she got bored just sitting and staring at the thing and imaging it changing. Time to actually MAKE it change, yeah? Yeah.

"Circo Anulum," she said as she moved her hand in a circle, trying to focus on the wooden box and not on her wrist. But that basically ruined it because she automatically moved her wrist. Grr. She moved her hand around and around, trying to maybe tire her wrist out so it'd be more inclined to just freeze up and let her move her hand only.

So trying again.

"Circo Anulum." Her hand moved in the circular motion as usual, but her mind wandered to her wrist and focusing on keeping it steady, so even though she managed to perform both correctly...nothing happened. The box was still a box.

Meh.

Deep breath.

Focus.

Her hand moved steadily in a circle, her wrist firm. "Circo Anulum." Point. And...slight success? Two corners of the wooden box had smoothed out to make a more circular form, but it was only half a ring. The other half still looked like a wooden box.

Ugh.

Stubborn box.

Ethan looked at his red and white circus tent a bit appraisingly before pulling his gargoyle from his bag. Rockie, he had decided to name him.. and he tried to fit him inside the tent. Sure, the little gargoyle fit.. but it didn't seem there was much room for anything else. Perhaps the undetectable extension charm was in order.

Pointing his wand and tapping the tent, he commanded, "Magnus Centrum!" Ethan had no doubt that his spell worked but he stuck his hand inside and moved it around to make sure. Good. Plenty of room. Now what else could he do?

Circus-related decor was in order now. He walked over to the box in the corner of the room and assessed the things inside. Circus rings.. yes, he could use a few of those.. three to be exact.. and he pulled a them from the box. He grabbed a ball, a few flags, and.. oh, look! there was a little see-saw he could use for Rockie to perform his acrobat tricks. He found a little platform for him to land on as well. His arms full, Ethan brought the supplies back to his workstation and set about placing them inside his tent.

Epoximise! She had found the spell. Beaming her hand shot into the air almost immediately as she thought about the spell and using it and if there was a specific way that Professor Bellaire wanted it to happen. So she just smiled.

“Professor, I was wondering if for the buttons – would you want use to use the gluing spell as a way to connect the buttons to the vest?” She asked kindly as she yet again fiddled with the vest and buttons that sat in front of her. She really would like the vest to be closeable so it didn’t hinder Peaches’ performance.

The tent had turned out pretty well, if Mo was allowed to give himself props over it, and he was able to turn his attention to the other spells listed. Buttons? What did he want with buttons? But a vest... sure. Gargoyle would look dashing in a vest. Maybe a hat too.

Mo retrieved several leaves in case he ended up destroying one accidentally while practicing the spell. The motion was simple, just tap tap tap on the leaf and poof... a vest happens! The incantation, though, was a little more challenging, and Mo sounded it out over and over. "Folium Induant. Folium Induant."

What sort of vest did his gargoyle want? Something festive yet masculine. Maybe a nice pinstripe? Mo tapped the first leaf and muttered, "Folium Induant." The leaf curled on itself and soon formed a very nice vest-shape. Only... it was a gold sequined vest shape. A bit flashy, wasn't it?

It was time to move on to creating the clothes for his gargoyle. Jory couldn't decide on a name so he just decided to call it Mr. Gargoyle.

He muttered the incantations under his breath as he set a leaf and beetle down in front of him. After that he worked on the wand movements. "Right. I think I've got those.'' He'd work on the vest first. "Folium induant!'' followed by a light tap on the leaf. And behold! A vest of Aquamarine appeared. Just as Jory had pictured.

Ready to get started at least with the practicing of the elements of the main spell, West got his gargoyle and box out of his bag and set it up at his work area.

"Circo Anulum." he said, just practicing how it sounded so that it felt right on his lips and tongue. "Circo Anulum. Circo Anulum. Circo Anulum." Alright. He felt alright with that. West eyed the box up thoughtfully, trying to envision it as a circus ring and all that. He looked around the class eyeing up all the successfully transfigured ones and then back at his which was still a box. Okay. Intent sorted.

Keeping his wrist steady he practiced the wand movement. Circular motion and point. Circular from the wrist as a rotation point or from the elbow? The steady wrist part suggested the elbow. He made the circle shape with his hand, keeping his wrist locked. Okay.

Time to put it together then.

Dylan was observing before he got down to the business of casting spells...He had to admit that this was a rather neat project. It was cool of Bellaire to think of it...

Finally pulling out Gi Abi Goon, he grinned and stood the Gargoyle up to the side. He needed to turn this box into a tent, right? Spying others so that he knew he was doing the right thing, the Slytherin went ahead and practiced saying the spell.

Cir-co...Ah-nu-lum?

"Circo Anulum." It felt weird to his mouth at first, so he repeated it several times to get used to the letter arrangement..."Circo Anulum, Circo Anulum, Circo Anulum."

...and then the motion.

Stiff wrist. Circular motion. Point.

It was an interesting one...Dylan withdrew his wand and practiced moving it in a circle with his wrist tight. There was another spell that was similar to this, motion-wise...So, he'd done something like this before...After a few rotations, he did some pointing.

Point!

Alright, he was ready to give it a go.

"Circo Anulum!" West kept his wrist steady and made a circle with his hand and... it didn't work...OHWAIT the point! He hadn't added that. Blink. Seriously he needed to stop thinking about... well. He knew who he was thinking about. He needed to stop. And stop thinking about stopping thinking about her.

AHEM.

He could do this. West was confident. And transfiguration was fun anyways so it was a GOOD thing to focus on.

Wrist steady, circle with hand, and POINT. He did it a few times and then tried again. "Circo Anulum!" steady wrist, hand circle, point! West focused hard on the colours he wanted, keeping the mental image of a cute tent in Slytherin colours, silver and green stripes, and of course a matching ring on the inside with a green ring around the edge and pale sawdust type stuff in the middle, and even little seats. He pictured it clearly, a memory springing up from the depths, only filtered by the colours he wanted to see.

and....

Focusing on the box that usually housed Gi Abi Goon, Dylan imagined it turning into a tent. An awesome one with green and blue strips...Yep, because those two colors together made the most sense...

Ahem.

"Circo Anulum!" He did the tight-wristed circular thing with the point. At once, the box popped, a green and blue tent taking it's place. Bam!...And the Professor had mentioned the undetectable expansion charm...He'd take care of that in just a bit.

For now, he wanted to get these new spells down. What was the next?

Bruchus puga...

Like....Bru-chus pu-ga?

The motion was a bit easier for this one...All he had to do was point steadily at a beetle. That was doable...if he could find a beetle. Did Professor Bellaire have a jar of them or something? Was Dylan supposed to search the floor for one?

As luck would have it, he did spy one on the floor...and knelled down to have a better look. That was a beetle, right?

SQUINT.

... the box began to morph, the base of it popped up in the centre, forming a perfect circle, the inner ring itself. It was green around the edges with a pale sawdust appearance in the middle which was actually firm rather than soft, even if it looked to be sawdust. The box wiggled and shook and the sides split and thinned out, the inner part folding down in on itself and morphing to form seats and the lower parts of the walls. The outer layer of box stretched higher and higher, stripey green and silver popping up as it changed into fabric, met itself at the top and then sprouted two little flags, one at each edge. A snap and a spin and the edges rounded out and finally one side of the tent rooooooooooolled itself up, revealing the interior with the ring and the seats and even a little sign that said 'circus'.

Because it was. A miniature circus.

Absolutely delighted with this, West picked the no-longer-a-box up to check it over, feeling how sturdy it was and happily examining the detail of it, which was almost exact to a memory he had of going to a circus himself. One thing having an eidetic memory helped with was visualising for Transfiguration. Even if it actually got in the way more often than not in other subjects.

Seriously. YESSSSSS.

And now he wasn't thinking about certain distracting people at ALL.

Right, it was a beetle.

Pointing his wand at it, all steady-like, Dylan focused on it becoming a shiny new button. A red one, for his favorite Gryffindors. Or Gryffindor. Singular. Seemed one of them was quickly becoming someone else's favorite.

Just sayin'.

Red button, red button, red button.

"Bruchus puga!" The beetle vanished, but instead of a red button, it left behind a blue one. Dylan glanced over at Beezus and sighed...Funnily enough, his subconscious just couldn't help itself, it seemed. Going with the flow, he found more beetles and one by one, each became a shiny, blue button...with four holes in their centers. Blue for his favorite Ravenclaw.

Moving on...

West was PROUD of his circus tent alright? It looked GOOD, and actually made him more excited about his gargoyle and the tricks it could do and everything. He hadn't been nearly so eager to begin with but now the stage was literally set. And yes, his gargoyle DID need a costume. He looked up at the board eyeing the two spells needed to dress his little dude up. A buttoned vest. Too bad the vest spell didn't come with buttons already huh? And how did he stick them on anyways? West mused on this a bit. There was a stitching charm, Resarcio, and the sticking charm Adhaero... which would be better? West thought sticking might be the more manly choice....

Yeah. That decided he went and got a couple of leaves ,wanting to practice on them a bit and not just settle for the first one he made after all. He sat back down and readied himself to get started.

So the incantation, according to the board, to change a leaf to a vest, was folium induant. West absorbed it then practiced it out loud. "Folium induant."

...

"Folium induant. Folium induant. Folium induant." That sounded pretty good. Not the easiest incantation. Had to really focus on enunciating. It was good. And a nice gentle tap for the wand movement made it easy to focus on the incantation. Okay he was ready to give it a go.

"Folium induant!" West gently tapped the first leaf, thinking about a vest....

Right, so...the next spell was one that was supposed to change a leaf into a vest. Glancing over at Gi Abi Goon, Dylan gave him some eyes. "Do you want clothing?" He hadn't animated the gargoyle today...but imagined that he'd agreed. Why wouldn't he? Vests were very circus-y.

Folium induant...Fo-li-um in-du-ant?

Assuming that he was breaking these down correctly, he mentally repeated the spell in his head. Folium induant, Folium induant, Folium induant, Folium induant......

...and that motion was just to lightly tap the leaf, yes? Dylan supposed that color would be left to his imagination and thought about what would look best against a gray body...because he was considerate like that. He was thinking blue or green, of course. There was a theme here...

"Folium induant!"...LIGHT LEAF TAP!

Instead of a blue or green vest, though....it produced a red one. SQUINT. What was going on with these colors?

Moving on to the buttons. Jory decided he would transfigure two beetles, so he set them down in front of him. "Bruchus puga...bruchus puga...bruchus puga...bruchus puga...,'' he kept repeating.

Jory grabbed his wand and pointed it to the beetle on the right. "Bruchus puga!'' Instantly, the beetle seemed to have vanished and was replaced by a white button. He repeated the step for the next beetle and soon he had two white buttons sitting stop his desk.

Yes that was a vest... only it wasn't the right size. Too small and not quite the right shape either. He tried it on the gargoyle JUST to see if it worked, but the leaf vest -which was kind of a purple colour, ehh- tore a bit, and then turned back to a leaf. A torn leaf.

Alright. Try again. This time West eyed the gargoyle up and mentally took measure of it, trying to work out its size and the proportions the leaf vest would need to have.

"Folium induant!" West had a green vest in mind, and the size that he'd been thinking of, and he gently tapped the leaf. This time the colour was the right shade, a nice green that matched the tent, and the shape was definitely better.

West had to get it on the gargoyle now. He tried to maneuver it... but couldn't get it on around the stiff gargoyle and it tore again. Darnitttt

So... needed to do something different... he could either animate the gargoyle so it would move its limbs to better get into the vest... or he could try to transfigure the leaf around the gargoyle so that it was already on it.

He decided the second approach would be good, if that didn't work then he'd animate his gargoyle.

This time West put the leaf on the gargoyle's back, straightened it, and then looked it over, imagining how it would fit around the gargoyle to look all smart.

"Folium induant!" West focused and then tapped it gently.... YESSSSSS he watched as the leaf formed into a vest around his front legs and chest, flapping open at the front. The vest was green with a little sliver piping around its edges.

West was grinning now. LOVING how well this was working out for him.

Beezus was done with her tent. She was pretty satisfied with the outcome too. It all went down accordingly as planned, as they say. Well, not all of it....but at least the greater part of what she had visualized was now propped up on her work station. She had to commend herself for that. It looked.....circus-like.

BEAM.

Now, she had to dress up her gargoyle. Which reminded her....she haven't thought of a name for it and it definitely needed a name. She couldn't just go and call it gargoyle for the rest of the time they'll spend together. That was just....meh. Plus, her friends told her that she had a knack for naming things so she felt it was necessary. Hmm... She held the stoned creature up and leveled with it, narrowing her eyes. "What to call you, little guy?" Of course, with the face it had, it wasn't a girl. It took a while and a lot of thinking....a lot of going over on stories, characters in books before she finally came up with one. "Viserys. Viserys the Gargoyle." Smirk. Yep. That.

And....Viserys needed a vest and colorful, brilliant buttons to look awesome like the awesome gargoyle that he was.

Beezus' dark brown eyes went to the board and then she read out the incantation to turn a leaf into a vest. "Folium Induant. Folium Induant." Easy peasy. And it only required a light tap on the object. Well....Professor Bellaire did say that those were easy spells. So, without further ado, Beezus gathered the bits of leaves scattered on her work table together and piled it in front of her.

Before anything else, the visual image.......she wanted the vest to be......blue? Aquamarine would be lovely, no? And it should have silver linings. No lace because lace was ew. But it should have a pointed collar....mhmm. She slowly tapped the leaves with her wand. "Folium Induant!" The bits glued together like they were puzzles of a whole and then it whirled and out from it came a mini-vest....exactly just she had thought it and exactly as the gargoyle's size.

"Look Viserys. You have a vest." She told the gargoyle....Of course she wasn't going to let it go without a response so the Prefect brandished her wand over the gargoyle and muttered silently, "Piertotum Locomotor...Nod." And Viserys nodded. That was all she needed. A confirmation that her gargoyle saw the vest she made for it. Very very good Viserys. ...."Finite." She tagged on quickly before anyone could see her performing the charm.

Now what was needed was buttons, and West had decided sticking them on would be easiest. He fetched some beetles from the provided supplies, going with three of them for the actual vest but grabbing a couple extra for practice reasons. He put them aside as he took his place again, and worked on practicing the spell.

"Bruchus Puga." And a steady point yes? West practiced that at the same time. Intent would be... beetles to buttons, focusing on the size and shape of the buttons and the colour and all that...

"Bruchus Puga. Bruchus Puga. Bruchus Puga." It SEEMED pretty straight forward. West did wonder if it made any difference if the beetles were alive or dead. These that he had were dead though, so no need to overthink it for now.

Time to try it.

He put one in front of him and focused. "Bruchus Puga!" West pointed his wand at the beetle and held it steady. It twitched and turned into a button... with legs.

Darn.

At least the button part was green?

...."Bruchus puga?" Was it just her or did that spell sound a bit.......ridiculous? Trying to kick her judgemental thoughts away, Beezus glanced around...her eyes searching for a particular person. There he was...engrossed with his own work. Hmmmm. And as though on cue, Dylan used the ridiculous spell that would transfigure a beetle into a button so the brunette watched him as he did. It seemed to work though despite its incantation. So she practiced the words to herself.... "Bruchus puga....Bruchus puga..." Yeah, it sounded worst the more she said it.

So she was just going to quickly make Viserys his buttons so she wouldn't have to keep saying that incantation. Now where could she find a beetle? ....Beezus looked at her work table and a wood box caught her attention. That had to be it. The creatures had to be inside....and they really were. Eep. They buzzed quite adorably. And those horns.....they had fantastic black colors too. Like tarantulas...adorable creatures. She liked those kind. Mhmm.

She picked up one and closed the box.

Then pointed her wand at it and, "Bruchus puga!" Bye bye little beetle and greetings silver button with dark blue streaks. She also did the same with the other beetles until there were four. The exact number she needed for the vest. One by one, the buttons lined the vest and voila! A perfect vest for Viserys.

Huzzah.

Minerva went back to the box, streamers, flags, what else could she use to decorate her ring. Looking down she smiled. Oh I could use thees little things for his juggling act. She picked up the three little tooth picks and took them to the ring setting them inside.

Heading back she found a small little box, this could be his stool to stand on, then she saw some small pieces of colored confetti. Oh this would make things pretty. She picked those up as well.

Heading back to her circus ring, Min put the little box into the middle. Good this is where he can stand and start his little show. Then she sprinkled the confetti around. She smiled excited about the way it was looking. Alright she thought, streamers, flags, a little stool, toothpicks for juggling, confetti. Now it was time to start on her Gargoyle.

Come on now, try it again.

West was determined y'know? He was doing so good with this class and not thinking too much about...

okay so he let himself think about her a bit more and even turned to look. Hi.

Where was he? Oh yeah, beetles to buttons. West put another beetle in front of him and focused on it. This one had to work. "Bruchus Puga." He pointed his wand steadily and this time... no legs! Just a matte green button with four holes, and quite a thick one at that.

Awesome!

He went ahead and did two more the same. "Bruchus Puga." point. "Bruchus Puga." point.

Now he had three which was enough for the vest. Thankfully he didn't need to worry about size. West picked the first one up and carefully touched his wand to the middle. "Adhaero!" He stuck it on in the middle of the vest.

He did the same with the last two, one above and one below, an even distance between them, and then used diffindo to slice little holes on the opposite side for the buttons to go through. West spent a few moments doing the little waistcoat up and now his gargoyle looked SMART. Yessss.

Alright. Next he'd decorate his tent some yeah? The inside? Furnish it or whatever?

So... worth making it extended inside yeah? He peered into his box!tent. Yeah.

Nigel of course made his circus tent Cadbury purple. It was an awesome color after all. Now it was time to move onto the second spell on the board. Nigel looked up and at the board to memorize it in his mind. So it was bruchus puga and there was no wand movement other than point at the beetle.


Now Nigel was ready to turn these beetles into buttons.He looked down at his cadbury purple and spotted the beetles. He pointed his wand at one and imagined a black button. "Bruchus Puga". Nigel watched as the target turned into a perfect black button.

Well the only thing left to do was turn the remaining beetles into buttons. Now that he did it once. The remaining should not be a problem.

Undetectable Extension Charm time. West eyed the tent!box!thing some more and then, focusing on making it more, he tapped the tent. "Magnus Centrum!"

...?

Now to test... West reached his arm in there.... and it disappeared. He couldn't feel any walls. Excellent! It worked then! He put his head in there to look around and check... heeeh. Weird. He was definitely getting better at that spell.

Okay back to business. West put the tent back down on his bench and went to go get some decorative stuff. He grabbed a whole assortment of circus-y things to go inside, returned to his station, and began decorating the inside of his tent.

Heh. Buntings. The triangular flag kind. They just sorta went well with the circus look, he figured.
