Tommy always thought that the word transfiguration was extremely weird and way too long. Usually when saying the word he say Trans-a-what? because he always forgot the word. But anyway, his sister had said when she was at school transfiguration was the most amazing subject ever. He didn't really trust his sister but he gave it a go. Maybe it wouldn't be boring? Unlikely but at least he would be doing something. He walked silently into the class room and just stood there next to some people. He checked his pocket to see if he hadn't forgotten his wand like most days and luckily remembered it. He looked around the room to see where the professor was. He had never seen her in his life. But then again he was new and no one knew him. He decided to actually be polite. He was going to say hello. But what what was the professors name again? He forgot. "Hi Professor." Tommy kindly said to the lady. |
sorry for the delay guys..super sick meh meh SPOILER!!: you pretties She really enjoyed it when they just streamed in like that looking neat and tidy and pleasant so early in the morning. It was enough to put her in a good mood. Which it did. So that you class. "Good morning everyone. You may take your seats." And after that the door to the transfiguration classroom snapped shut and the little click after was telling enough that she also locked it. If anyone was late for her class they would have to stay out. Or they could knock and face her wrath..whichever. "Alright everyone, you'll notice that your desks have been transformed into a work space for you to continue your little project." She paused to inspect the students some more..did she just see someone's lip moving while she was speaking? Her eyes narrowed. NO spoiling the good mood. She went on.."Eyes on the board everyone.." Tap Tap."These are the approved spells for the morning. I am hoping that everyone will be able to get through with all of them to give their presentation an extra kick, but really the main spell we'll be focusing on is Circo Anulum, which is a spell that turns wooden box to circus ring. The wand movement is a circular motion then a point..like so.." She performed the motion on her own box which transformed into a lovely bright purple and green circus tent." Be mindful of keeping your wrist firm. Loose wrists just won't do. Remember the formula." Pause. "Once you have successfully completed this spell, you can take accessories for the circus from the box in the corner to furnish your tent, and if you really want to show off.." She smirked..."you may use the undetectable expansion charm to fix more items for extra credit. After completing that you may move on to the others, which are very simple spells my seven year old could perform." Or even her three year old grandson....err exaggeration of course. "I'm sure the ladies will be particularly interested in getting their gargoyles dressed." "I'll be taking only questions to clarify in the case you're confused." This wasn't a theory class it was a practical. |
Lex was finding it a bit hard to stand still, bouncing ever so slightly on the balls of her feet until finally they were given the go ahead to take their seats at which point she plopped down with a wide grin. Today they'd probably get to play with their gargoyles some more! He'd been great fun the last time she animated him, quite the obedient little thing. She leaned forward, demonstrating just how much attention she was paying to the Professor. Circo Anulum. Not something she'd run into before now. Firm wrist, no flicking, she could do that. After the Professor gave the last of her instructions it was time to get to practising. The thought of casting that undetectable extension charm crossed her mind but she'd work on this stuff first. For now, she'd focus on making sure the tent actually work. Lex removed the gargoyle and rested it to the side of the desk. "Circo Anulum!"....Nothing. "Circo Anulum!!" ... .......STILL nothing. See, this was why she preferred hexes and the like. Those always worked. She was sure the intent was there...just...maybe the visualizing could use more work? Alright. Focus Lex. Think prettiful and bluuue. "Circo Anulum!" Lex let out a little squeal, yeah it worked this time, fine, whatever but IT WAS BLUE and shiny and and and eeeeeep!! |
Jory waited impatiently as more students filed in. He could not wait to get started, trying out those spells. Finally, they were given the green light to sit. He did so and listened keenly as Professor Bellaire spoke. Confirmation on the circus theme! Jory liked circuses. He scrawled some notes on the first spell before he began to practice. "Circo Anulum...Circo Anulum...Circo Anulum...Circo Anulum...Circo Anulum...'' The seventh year thought about the colour he would want his circus ring to be. "Maybe a blend of yellow and orange?'' he thought as he straightened the box in from of him. He would go with that. This called for much concentration. "Circo Anulum!'' Circular motion and a firm point of the wand. Nothing. The box lay there looking just the same. Jory concentrated harder. "Circo Anulum!'' Once again, a wand movement of circular motion and a firm point. The box erupted into a bright orange and yellow colour! "Cool!'' |
Oh good. They could finally sit down so she did... although Kat would never understand why they had to stand up while waiting for everyone. The cleanliness part of it was pretty understandable, but standing up? It was going to give Kat's legs an aching feeling. So uhm yes... firm wrist. Circular movement and then a point. Alright she can do that but she would do some practising with the movement first, because it was sort of complicating. Circle... point. CIRCLE... POINT. Kat tried her best to keep the her wrist as firm as she could. What a struggle. Let's do this. "Circo Anulum!" Kat said while doing the hand movement. Uhm... nothing. This was harder than expected. Maybe she should focus a little bit more? They did learn in their previous lesson the variables in transfiguration. Intent and stuff. Okay... try again, yeah? "Circo Anulum!" Still nothing. C'mon, box, you should turn into a circus ring NOW. "Cir-co Ah-nu-lum..." So maybe she could do this again. Uhm yeah. AGAIN! More intent and focus and all those variables. "Circo Anulum!" Firm wrist, circle and point. Then the box turned into a circus ring. Awesome. Maybe she should place the undetectable extension charm on it like what she did to her slingbag. Would make things easier, yep. |
The second year Slytherin sat when the professor told her that they needed to sit and nodded to her when she greeted the class. But… The young girl frowned when the professor locked the door and she wondered what would happen with the students who were late for this class, not that Sonea was worried about them, she only was curious because she wanted to know what would happen with HER when she would be late for class… Sonea had just been staring at the changes the professor had made in the classroom when the professor told the class to look at the school board. Startled Sonea looked up and glanced quickly at the professor and back to the board and read what was written on it. And… she stared again at the professor, relived. She had been afraid that this lesson would be boring and that she only needed to learn from a textbook, but this was better! She was not sure if the spell would work immediately, and to be honest, she would be VERY surprised if it would work for the first time, but she wanted to try it! The young girl pointed her wand at the box in front of her and imitated to wand movement the professor had made, she concentrated REALLY hard on the spell pink, let it be pink… and spoke the spell, “Circo Anulum” and… Something happened! The box… only colored pink but didn’t transform… |
SPOILER!!: Le Prof Once Kace heard the professor come in, he knew it was time to get working. He liked the practical lessons because he liked to dive in and work hands on with the spells. He heard they will mostly be working on Circo Anulum. He saw what the professor was doing and he stood there in awe. He loved the bright purple and green circus tent. It was so cool! He couldn't wait to try it. Alright so he was going to practice saying the spell first. He saw it on the board and tried to pronounce it. "Cir-co An-ul-um.......Cir-co Ah-nu-lum...Cir-co Ah-nu-lum..." he was getting the hang of it. Then he wanted to practice the wand movements. The movement was a circular motion then a point. She mentioned a lose wrist will not work. He did a circular motion with a point, then said the spell "Circo Anulum" just for practice. He saw his wooden box and was ready to try it. He took a deep breath and did his first trail. He pointed his wand at the box, did the circular motion and said "Circo Anulum!" with a point but...nothing happened. Hmm...maybe his wrist was not firm enough. He would try again. |
He quickly sat down when they were finally instructed to sit and Daichi's eyes followed the Professor as she began to explain the activity for today. Make circus equipment? Sounded like a fun thing to do, at least it was way better than cleaning. When the instructions were done, Daichi looked at the box and grabbed his wand. "Circo Anulum" He said as he made a circular motion followed by a point to the box and tried to visualize the box transfigurating in to a circus ring, an orange one. The box shaped instantly but it still had the brownish color of a box and it wasn't a ring. It was more like a ball... "Finite" he waved and the box turned back to how it was before. Taking a deep breath, the Slytherin stopped for a second to listen to what the Professor was saying and he became a liiiitle uncomfortable when she said that the GIRLS would probably enjoy making clothes for their gargoyles. Ehm...was he weird when he thought that HE would think that was an great idea too? ...eeh...he'd just... leave those thoughts to himself, yes. "Circo Anulum!" he tried again as he used the same wand motion as instructed. A firm circular motion from his wrist and a point to the box. Again, it transformed and the Slytherin grinned when suddenly, an orange ring was before his eyes. |
Ethan slid into his seat as Bellaire's prompting and glanced first at his transformed desk then at the board. New spells? Ethan was always on the fence about learning new spells, depending on their usefulness. On the one hand, it was nice to learn something he hadn't, especially if it was something he could use or would need. But on the other hand, he sometimes struggled with new spells especially if they were more advanced, seeming to need more practice than the average student.. especially average seventh year. Spellwork wasn't always his forte.. at least it had been that way in the past and he kept his mind stuck in that thought. He wasn't completely sure how useful these spells would be beyond this circus performance they were supposed to be putting on with their gargoyles, but at least his mind was put to ease about the difficulty of the spells. Ethan jotted down notes from the board into his journal, then set about practicing the first spell. A firm, tight circle with the wrist.. he practiced the wand movement several times. Once he felt he had that down well enough, he moved on to practicing the incantation. "Cir-co An-u-lum.. Cir-co An-u-lum.. Circo Anulum.." Ethan practiced reciting the incantation a few times, trying to wrap his mouth around the new words. Once he figured he knew the words well enough, he picked up his wand and pointed it at the wooden box on his table. "Circo Anulum!" he commanded as he flicked his wand with a tight circular movement of his wrist. It was a slow transformation, but Ethan was rather pleased to see his box turn into a rounded, red and white striped circus ring. Not bad. |
Once the professor gave the word, Ethan sank into his chair. He decided he'd better get started on the spell. Pulling the box towards him, he practiced moving his wand the right way. "Circo Anulum", "Circo Anulum", he said. Feeling confident, he visualized a circus tent popping up before him, "Circo Anulum!", he said. The box remained the same. Maybe it worked better if you picked colors. His favorite color was light green but he was thinking of yellow and blue mix. Visualizing a colorful circus tent this time and remembering not to flick his wrist, "Circo Anulum!" The tent was larger than he had imagined, plenty of room to fill it with accessories. He couldn't wait to use the other spells. |
post 1 Turning a wooden box into a circus ring? Why so random? Theo pulled out his wand and then remembered that he needed to get his gargoyle out, too. OH he got it. Were they making a space for their gargoyles to do their tricks? Very awesome indeed. Theo wasn't sure if he wanted the whole class to watch, though. PRESSURE meant rubbish spellwork, usually. He looked at the board and sighed at the spell. Circo Anulum. Why were spells always such mouthfuls? Theo pointed his wand at his wooden box with a very firm wrist, then cleared his throat. How hard could it be? Alexa Cambridge just did it over there, he noticed. He could totally do it, too. "Circo Anulumum." He judged his handiwork expectantly but.... nope. "Circo Anumlulum." His wand let out a puff of exhausted smoke but nothing happened still. How embarrassing... Theo did kind of want to raise his hand to request some individual help from Professor Bellaire, but he also didn't want to look rubbish at magic in front of her. "Circo Alumnum!" GAH. |
Nigel could follow the instructions all right. He sat down and listened to the spells they were going to be using for today's class. Hmm. Seems like an awesome spell. Nigel wanted to practice it and the extra credit part of it. He was not really interested in the circus part. But the magic was interesting to Nigel. He could care less about showing off his gargoyle to people. Unless he gets paid for it. Then that changes everything. Nigel liked money. HE started to mutter the spell's incantation under his breath. Circo Anulum. Well that is easy to remember. Nigel pointed his wand at the wooden box waiting anticipating it turning into a circus ring. "Circo Anulum" .Nigel cast and watched as the box transformed into a ring. It was awesome. |
It was time to try the spell again..... He was gonna do this! He had the wand movement down and how to say the spell down. All he had to do was keep his wrist firm and concentrate. He saw his wooden box and he had to change it to a circus tent. It all seemed easy enough. He saw the board and copied down all the spells he would need after he changed the wooden box to the tent. SPOILER!!: Notebook He pointed his wand at the wooden box, kept his wrist firm and said the spell "Circo Anulum!" with a circle motion and point and then the box TURNED into a white circus ring with green stripes. He did have the color green on the mind. O__O. He did it! He was smiling and was glad he finally got the hang of it. He was happy and hopefully the professor saw his progress. He saw the other spells and knew he would take a stab at them. |
Okay so transfiguration didn't seem that bad. Well. it was at least better than the name so that was a relief. What did he have to do again though? Tommy tried to concentrate beck to when the professor was talking. He couldn't really remember so he just looked at what everyone else was doing. And they were apparently turning wooden boxes into circus rings. What even were circus rings? He had to find out so he tried the spell. "Circo Anu-" Wait what was the spell again? He looked at everyone else and the were saying circo anulum. "Circo Anulum!" He cast. Nothing that interesting happened so he gave another go at it. "Circo Anulum!" And there he did it. The circus ring wasn't too sparky but he might not think transfiguration is the worst subject ever. |
post 2 OKAY... he had to look at the board and analyze the incantation completely. Since things were just going NOWHERE so far. Theo squinted his eyes and tapped his wand against his chin as he read the two horrible words. "Cir-co." He began, "An-u-lum." Ohhhhh... he'd been saying it wrong. He'd obviously made it a lot more complicated than it actually was. Theo turned back to his wooden box and held his wand FIRMLY again. "Circo Anulum!" "Circo Anulum!" Ughhh.... seriously? "Circo Anulum!" He raised his voice and whoooooosh, the wooden box twitched a little bit, then transformed into a lovely PINK (?) circus ring. Theo beamed at himself, then beamed at Professor Bellaire. Pink, though... really? |
Laura decided that she was going to have loads of fun with "Circo Anulu!" Laura wasn't sure if she was pronouncing it right and so she continued to practice the spell. "Circo Anulum!" Laura was sure that she knew it which was awesome because she wasn't normally good at spells. "Circo Anulum!" Laura was really happy. "Circo Anulum" Laura did a little jig, she was happy that she knew what she was doing. |
Cool, they could sit now. Wade had read the board a few times while waiting before he sat. More spells, great. He made sure to jot them down, whilst silently pronouncing them just to get it off his tongue perfectly. Cir-co.. Ah-nu--lum.. Cir-co.. Ah-nulum.. Cir-co..Anulum.. Circo.. Anulum.. Fine. He also practiced the circular and point flexing movement with his quill afterward. Got it. Wade then moved the box closer in front of him. Hmm, a dark indigo and black would be cool colours for the rings. Taking out his wand, he mimicked the instructed movement, a steady wrist as it flexed in a circular motion.. then pointing it straight at the box. "Circo Anulum." Keeping the intention and focus straight, Wade watched as the box transformed into the dark indigo and black coloured ring he had wanted. Awesome. |
Ella sat down and focused her attention on Professor Bellaire, interested to see what they'd be doing today. She figured they'd be making the circus ring but was more excited about all the decorating and accessorizing of the gargoyles. That sounded kind of fun, okay? Grin. First spell up, Circo Anulum. Accompanied with a circular motion and a point using a firm wrist. Didn't seem too impossible or anything. The blonde watched her classmates before she did anything else, interested in how they were approaching the spell. It seemed the the firm wrist thing really was extremely important and she was also interested to see how different some of the rings looked. Cool rings were cool and colorful too. When she was ready, Ella began with the incantation. "Circo Anulum...Circo Anulum...Circo Anulum...Circo Anulum..." It was sort of hard to say and she felt clumsy pronouncing the anulum bit but she had it down for the most part. She just need to see how it all panned out. Next she practiced the motion. Circularrrrrrr motion and point. Circularrrrr motion and point. Firm wrist too. She'd need to remember that. Placing her box right in front of her, the blonde tilted her head and eyed it. "Alright you box, ready to be a circus ring?" Hmm? |
Question Now that he could sit... Mo didn't really want to stay there. Instead, he hopped right back out of his seat as soon as possible and reached for the bag where his gargoyle was hiding. Gargoyle!face was coming everywhere with Mo so they could continue to learn tricks and things together. The gargoyle went on the desk, and then Mo wandered off to retrieve a box. SO THEN. Ahem. First, to practice the spell. Trying to keep his wrist straight, Mo drew circle after circle, only adding a jab at the end when the motion felt smooth and sort of natural. Lookit this. Mo had just invented the circular exclamation point! The incantation wasn't too too hard. Circo Anulum. Cir-co An-oo-lum. Jabjabjab. Mo turned on the box where it sat next to his gargoyle. "Um, excuse me, Professor? Do we just think about the colors we'd like the tent to be, or are they always the same?" |
Uhhh, Sophie shouldn't have stayed up so late the other night practising spells.... she was really tired now. But there was a new spell and she wanted to learn! She just didn't feel like talking much... or asking questions. So onto practise. Too bad she was too tired to try non-verbals that day. "Circo Anulum" And circular motion. Easy. She did the motion a few times and repeated the spell another couple of times in her head. "Cir--" She stopped midspell because she just realised she hadn't thought about the colours or anything for her circus ring. Meehh. Effort. But she should do it. Hmmm.... green and yellow, because y'know. Slytherpuff and all. Teehee. ""Circo Anulum! She said a bit more firmly, waving her wand in the steady circular motion with a firm wrist like professor Bellaire had told them. Oooooooohh, look at that! The wooden box... was a bit oval now. Well, it was almost a ring thing, but it didn't look quite perfectly round, which wasn't Sophie's intention, to be honest. "Reverto." She'd try again. Not oval ring this time! "Circo Anulum!" Aaaand.... ooo! That was a little better! And heeeeh, nice colours! Green and yellow looked really nice together for some... reason. Teehee. |
Kat didn't want to bother her circus ring. It was already right and besides, who wanted to keep a really firm wrist anyway? Trying to keep it the same way was hard enough. But what bothered her was... the colour. Who decided to colour her circus ring orange? It looked ugly and washed out. She frowned and sighed. Yeah, she was changing that. It better not be ORANGE the next time she did it. More focus, intent, and concentration. Well that was kinda like the same thing but well, they were somehow variables in transfiguration. "Reverto." Back to a box. SIGHS. She can do it. "Circo Anulum!" Kat said, maintaining the firm wrist with the circular movement and the point. She was leaning towards an emerald coloured circus ring. Then... tada! The box turned into the circus ring she had expected, with the emerald green colour. Awesome... now could she charm it with the undetectable expansion charm now? She'll take that as a yes. "Magnus Centrum!" Kat said and tapped the circus ring and... yep. It expanded in the inside. Kat tried sticking her hand inside it and it fits. Accessories now, yeah? |
Minerva listened as Professor Bellaire gave the instructions. She wasn't surprised at what they were doing, since Bellaire had mentioned it in the last class. Taking out her parchment Minerva jotted the spells down that they would be using. She didn't want to forget them and she wanted them for outside classroom practice. Now it was time to start. Working with her wand she did the circles to make sure her wrist was firm. Now she pulled the box out and placed on the work station. Making sure the gargoyle was off to the side so that he wasn't in the way. Minerva started doing the circular motion over the box, "Circo..." Wait what was the second word. Minerva tried to think, not wanting to look unless she had to. Come on Min this was a transfiguration spell, something you were very good at. Shaking her head she finally glanced at the parchment, "Circo Anulum" doing the circular motion over top the box. She watched as the box turned into the circus ring. Smiling she shrugged, might not be able to remember the words, but at least she could do the spells. |
Pulling her gargoyle out of her backpack, Sky placed it on the corner of her workspace. That done, she jotted down the few notes they had been given along with the spells from the board. Moving on, she practiced saying the spell a few times (after all, it seemed complicated). "Circo An-u-lum. Ci-rco An-u-lum. Circo Anulum. Circo Anulum." Yep had it. Now it was time to actually use it. Keeping her wrist firm, she moved her wand in a circular motion, then pointed at her box. "Circo Anulum." The box became a rather festive looking green and silver affair. Now, how did she want to decorate and did she want to use an extension charm........? |
Eyes were on the box. Squinting slightly too because of concentration reasons. She was visualizing the box as a circus ring, DUH. "Circo Anulum!" And Ella made the circular motion and pointed. Yup. She pointed that wand right at the box and then it changed. It was still a box, but more circular looking now. Still not very circus ring-like at all, though. FROWN. Maybe her wrist hadn't been firm enough? Maybe. "Reverto." Tightening her wrist considerably, the blonde eyed the box again and said clearly, "Circo Anulum!" And with a circular motion and a point, the box changed again. BEAM! This time the box was changed completely into a circus ring. A real proper looking circus ring that was red with yellow stars. Proud Ella was really proud of this, okay? Really proud. What's next again? |
Even though she hadn't animated her gargoyle as yet she still set it at the front of her new circus ring/tent thing. "Just sit there and watch that while I go get us some stuff." That shouldn't have been hard. Everyone was much too busy with their own tent to really be concerned with hers in the first place. Besides, she seemed to be the only one completely taken in by the colour blue. It was a pity really, but not right now. She took one last look at both before making her way over to the accessories she would need for her ring. Let's see...the ball would be good...but there were none she particularly liked. Yellows and purples and greens and oranges. There was a blue but someone had gotten to it before she did. If they got to keep these things too she'd make it a point of duty to change the colour of the one she chose, which happened to be a faded orange because why not?? Okay, what else would she need...? Oh! Hoops!! Yes those were good. She grabbed three of those and hung them on her neck to keep her hands free. Um...ooooo ribbons; long ones, short ones too!! These would be put to good use as well. Hey lookit! A whip! Not that she'd need to tame her gargoyle, the thing was quite docile but there was a dragon spell on the board so you never know. This was all she could think of so far and all she could carry so she headed back to her desk. If she thought of anything else she'd just make another trip here. |
