That's right folks, come on in a Gobstones match between two of your favorite Hogwarts houses is taking place and you don't want to miss it or the prime seats up front! The room that plays host to the Gobstones matches has a few rows of raised seats along each of the long side walls, leaving plenty of room in the middle for the players to shoot for the Jack Stone.
Find a place to cheer on your house or whichever house you want to win because these players may not be brawny Quidditch jocks (or they might just be) but they still deserve the support!

OCC Note: This thread is located outside of the Gobstones Club sub-forum because of the new unfortunately moderated set-up currently in place there. Roselyn, hpluvr037, the rest of staff and I (Nordic Witch) are going to do our best to keep an eye in this thread as Matches progress, although it is no longer a moderated thread. Remember all SS School RPG and site rules apply here. Thank you very much for watching!

Airey quickly made his way to the viewing area with just seconds to spare before good ol' LeoBALD started the match.
Poo. Where was Medea? She was more fun to make faces at and more easily distractible. Sigh, oh well. Maybe she would tag in later and then he could keep acting like a 5-year-old tease her while she hosted. Heh. She WAS going to be running a few rounds, right? If not poor LeoBALD was going to be in for quite the shocker.
"GOOD THROW, MISS EDWARDS!" he shouted as Gryffindor took the first point of the round. Maybe he should finish his song that he hadn't gotten the chance to the previous lion match...

Jory was late. He had been out with Ronnie and she had just gone back to her common room. He had totally forgotten about the match until was halfway to his own common room. He had turned right back and headed tot he Viewing area.
"Hi, Professor in the Suit!'' Jory greeted the man who was the only other person there. Oh lookie! The Lions were up by three points. ["Come on, Claws!'' he called. He wasn't supporting any House in particular but a neck to neck game would make it more exciting!
Calista was running late for the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw Gobstones match and she shouldn't have been. She had mentioned to Medea that she was going to try and come the night before but she had overslept, something she didn't do often. The blonde had quickly ran a brush through her hair and threw on some clean clothes (although her belt didn't go with her outfit at all) and practically ran down to the Gobstones club as fast as her sandalled-feet could carry her.
When she entered the room she saw that it wasn't crowded, as usual, with just Airey and Mr. Stonewall in the viewers' seats. "Hello Jory, glad to see you supporting your classmates." She gave him a smile before sitting beside Airey. "Hello there." No Medea? Where was she.
"Supporting Gryffindor then?" She had heard his shout for Sarah Edwards. Although it could just be a nice gesture, he was a former Lion. "Only fair though, I'm rooting for Ravenclaw, the professors at hand are giving equal support then." She smiled at him before turning to watch the next shot and to wave at Leo.

Minerva made her way to the viewing area, of course she wasn't going to miss a match, she never missed many especially if Ravenclaw was playing, sadly she didn't even really know if Ethan was playing today or not. Ever since that night she was being pretty withdrawn and unsocial.
Making her way into the stands she glanced noticing the viewers. This made her frown, she wished more people would come and watch these matches, but it was what it was.
Looking around she decided the top corner was the best place to hide view the match. Plus seeing Professor Flamsteed Min decided after her not so nice comments in class it would be safer to just sit alone. Giving the smallest nod to show she saw them, she walked to her seat not bouncy, happy, and social like she usually was, just quietly and with more of a frown then a smile.
Once sitting Minerva turned just in time to realize one.. the match had started.. Oh joy she was late and didn't even know it. and two Ethan was up and scored. She stood and clapped for him with a hint of a small smile on her face, but the smile quickly left as she sat down to continue watching the game.

Jory looked around as someone hurriedly entered the room. It was Professor Elwood. "Hi, Professor,'' he said with a grin. "Overslept?'' This was going to be so interesting! Two of his fave Professors. Professor Airey supporting the Lions and Professor Elwood supporting the Claws. Maybe there would be some friendly banter? Plus the teams were close with their scores.

The Puffer now looked around to see who had came in. But he saw no one. That was, until he turned his attention to the top of the stands. Wasn't that Min? Jory squinted. It was! "Why was she sitting all the way up there?'' he wondered.Had he bored her with his talk during the last match? He waved to her but was not sure if she saw him.

"Hello hello!" he waved to one of his brighter students. He was rather proud of the crimson suit he was wearing today, so he didn't mind the somewhat awkward nickname at the moment. In too pleasant a mood.
Or he WAS until the boy started rooting for Ravenclaw.
"GRYFFINDOR RAWR RAWR GRYFFINDOR RAWR RAWR!" he countered to the boy's cheer. He would do a wave or something, but it was lonely doing it by oneself.
Oh, and look who had come down out of their habitat to enjoy the match. "Good day, Calista," he said with a small inclination of the head. Oh, was that Miss Wheatborn up there? He took his attention away from the blonde professor to wave to the young Hufflepuff. "Could you see me rooting any other way?" he laughed, flexing a bit to show off his suit. You know, in case she couldn't SEE that he was in red and all.
And then Ravenclaw pulled in the lead, but just slightly. Nothing to worry about. Still plenty of time left in the match.

The match was still in it's early first few shots so she wasn't all that late, and it seemed like Ravenclaw was in the lead. Oh and Medea was up now! The Divination Professor waved back at her.
Jory had asked if she had overslept and she turned around to look at him once more, a nervous smile on her lips. "It's not noticeable is it?" Elwood didn't want to look like an utter mess in front of present company. Just in case she began to run her fingers through her blonde hair and straightening her skirt. Soon the next two shooters were taking their spots on the playing field. As they set up, she watched for a second as Minerva Wheatborn entered the room and took a seat off to the side by herself, away from the two Professors and her fellow Hufflepuff. That was odd, Callie had always seen the girl being rather friendly with others.
She turned her eyes from the girl to her friend sitting beside her. "What do you think is wrong with--WOOOOOOO GOOO RAVENCLAW!!!" She stood up and clapped exctiedly. "Great shot Aquila!" When she sat back down she beamed at Airey in his Gryffindor-on-a-Cheering-Charm suit. "I guess you're outfit is distracting them?"

Jory laughed. Professor Airey was trying out out cheer him or something. He probablt think Jory was supporting the Claws. Time to confuse the man! "Come on Gryffindor!! You can catch up with them with the next question!'' He cheered a tad bit louder and pumped his fist in the air too. Gryffindor was his girlfriend's House, so he'd have to put a bit of support in there for them, too.

Jory blinked. Noticeable? Did she mean her clothes? He had no idea about fashion, much less women's fashion. "No, I just guessed that you had overslept.'' Grin. "But you look nice.'' Another grin.
And Ravenclaw scored another point and Professor Elwood erupted with a cheer! He laughed yet again as he heard her say something about Professor Airey's suit distracting the Gryffindors. "I knew this was going to be entertaining,'' he thought.

Minerva rested her arms on her legs and then plopped her head in her hands. She sat quietly for the longest time. Claws were winning that was good. Winning claws equaled happy boyfriend and happy boyfriend was always better then not so happy boyfriend.
Glancing around there still wasn't many people, but that was Gobstones unfortunately and was Jory cheering on both teams now? Minerva looked down at him confused and then with a big sigh, she decided to join them.
Slowly making her way down the stairs Minerva approached the little group. Giving the worse smile she had ever probably given, "Hi everyone, having fun?" Turning back towards the match she scanned the area.. Where did Ethan go off to, oh there he was..

Airey had not missed a gobstones match this term when it came to his old house and he wasn't about to do so now - even if it was SUCH a FAAAAAAAAAAAR walk from the Astronomy Tower ALL the way DOWN here. He was here now though and somehow managed to find the energy to wave to Medea before he literally collapsed in his seat.
Sitting up...nope. That wasn't going to happen either. Lying down it was.
Oh? Uh? Oh yeah. "Go lions....wooohoo," he said as he feebly twirled his right index finger in the air.

Was he late? Jory hurried to the Viewing area. He had over slept because he had been studying the night before, focusing on Potions. But he surely did not want to miss the match now. Rubbing what he hoped to be the last of the sleepiness from his eyes, he turned to look at the teams. He was supporting Gryffindor, of course, for his own selfish reasons. If Gryffindor won, Hufflepuff would most likely win the Cup.
"Hai, Professor!'' Jory said now noticing the Man in the Suit. He quickly took a seat and got ready to cheer for the Lions. And what was that feeble cheer from the Professor? The man was usually full of energy. "Are you alright, Professor?''

Airey was still twirling his index finger half heartedly to root for his lions, he sloooooooowly lifted his head when he heard someone speak to him. "Mr. Stonewall, hello," he said in an equally lackluster tone as his cheering had been.
Airey felt his stomach drop quite suddenly. Mr. was a seventh year. Airey would not have the pleasure of having the boy in his lessons next term. He suddenly felt more depressed than he had been a few moments earlier.
"I suppose," he said while rolling on to his side to look at the gobstones area...pitch...floor....whatever it was called. He was far too lazy to dry and recall the details.

Alistaire Firth made his way over to watch the Gobstones match. It was the last one of the term, and if his Lions did well enough, they'd keep Slytherin from winning the championship.
Who was here? Oh, Airey! He would definitely be cheering for Gryffindor as well. As Firth made his way over towards the man, he noticed Jory there as well. On such a fine spring afternoon, too! Although, with everything starting to bloom, the Scot's nose had been out of sorts for the past few days.
He was almost to the duo when a tickle in his nose made him have to... "Aa.. AA... A-CHOO!" Lovely. "Sorry abou' that!" he said in a friendly manner. "Airey, Jory, good ter see yeh!" And he stuck his hand out for a shake to both of their hands in turn. "Beau'iful day fer Gobstones!" He altogether failed to notice that Airey was being a bum.

Josephina felt bad ... no like depressed and terrible. She hadn't been to see ONE Gobstones match this term and her Hufflepuffs were doing quite well. Excellent, in fact. They might even have a chance at the Gobstones championship this term. Assuming Gryffindor held a tight reign in today's match.
Sluggishly moving into the Viewing Area, Fina stared dejectedly down at the Gobstones playing area trying to figure out who was leading. She then turned towards the half ... no mostly empty viewing stands - save for Airey and Jory and Alistaire.
Taking a seat, she placed her hands on her knees, trying to steady her thoughts on missing the previous matches, and focus on today's match. "Go Lions," she called, rather un-enthusiastically.

Jory had just shook Mr Firth's hand when out of the corner of his eye he noticed his Head of House. "Hi, Professor!'' he called to her. This match was having a rather okay turn out. He supposed it was due to the fact it was the last match of the year. But Hadley didn't seem to be her cheery self today either. What was the matter with everyone? He eyed the Professor as she cheered in a not so enthusiastic manner.
She'd been feeling pretty badly lately, about, well...just everything. But one thing in particular that had been bothering her, was how few of the Gobstones matches she'd made it out to. So today, she donned one red glove and one green glove, to be fair and unbiased. Although it was supposed to be getting warmer and warmer outside, reality had proven to be very cold lately. Chilling, what with all these dementors sprawling across the castle. One never knew when your fingers might catch cold, so gloves it was. She just hoped there would be a professor around to protect her should anything bad happen during the match.
She spotted her previous Gobstones cheering partner, Professor Airey, and sat near him. He looked about as enthusiastic as she felt however, so she did not prod him for any sort of tom foolery. Instead, she mustered a weak smile and nodded to him with a quiet, "Hello there Professor." Truth be told, staying in bed all day had sounded like a very tempting option, but she wanted to be supportive of her classmates. And, maybe her math was off - because it usually was, but she wanted Slytherin to win this match. At least then Ravenclaw might have a chance of not coming in last place again this year. Fourth place was something she was not willing to accept yet. There was still time.

Hmm. Maybe he should have thought things through a bit better. He'd just sneezed... so now the Badger's hand was probably disgusting. "Sorry abou' that, le' me jus'.... Tergeo." Oh, who was this cheering for the Lions? Hadley! Makes sense. The Badgers needed this to not be a complete bloodbath in the Slytherins' favor if they were going to win the tournament. "Welcome, Josephina. 'm glad yeh'll be cheerin' fer the Lions as well." In fact, everyone in the crowd was pro-Gryffindor. Where was the Snakes' house spirit?
But she appeared to be only half-hearted about her cheering. Come to think of it, Airey was that way too. Had he missed something? "Er... yeh look down. Everythin' alright with yeh?" They both looked like they needed Cheering Charms.

Ew.
Airey cringed and just stared at the groundskeeper. No, of course the man would not feel the need to do the polite thing and cover his mouth with his arm when he sneezed. Not the hand, that was rude. Airey should really just stop having expectations of people all together. One was only met with disappointment and emptiness.
So no. No handshake for you. Nor was it good to see you either. Loud sneezing person.

Loud. So loud.
Airey would have covered his ears with his hands, but that took far too much effort. Moving limbs and all. Instead he rolled on to one side and stayed that way. There, now at least one ear had its sound muffled. Even if his logic made little to no sense.
He didn't have time for logic. Too hard to think things through. Not that it really matter anyway. Sigh.
