Arithmancy Homework Post 4. After leaving the student garden, the Slytherin headed to the Tree House. He really didn't like the tree house, if Dylan were being honest...Gunter liked hanging out there...and they were at odds at the moment...Or rather, Oakey continued to try and "make up" with him...but he didn't want any part of it. In fact, the Captain was rather OVER the whole situation... ANYWAY...trying not to think about that stupid stuff...he focused on the task at hand. He needed to find some Golden ratio-y stuff within this house in a tree. Hmmmmmmmmm. With the other locations, he'd something particular in mind...but not with this one. Dylan was a smart boy, though...SOMETHING would be found. It wouldn't be too difficult. He could find....something.... Oh. How 'bout those windows? Whipping out his ruler, he immediately set to measuring two windows that were side by side. They looked to be about the same dimension...and after doing some more measuring...and then some math stuff, Dylan discovered that they were indeed in perfect proportion to one another. Did he have a good eye or what?! That was a Captain's eye. It simply couldn't be taught... /smugface |

Pulling back, and blushing she glanced up at him. ”Kaiden, I-um…doesthatmakesenseto nah…um you?” she asked muttered slightly as she sat there blushing like a complete and utter fool. Her hair once again going vibrantly pink and red and multi colored before returning to a dull blushed sheen. |

Kaiden grinned at the formerly blonde girl after she finished kissing him. "Ilikeyourhair" he mumbled quietly. He found himself blinking at her, trying to work out what she just said. When he did figure it out, a small smirk appeared on his face. "I don't know, maybe. Do want to try telling me that again?" |
Quote:
And then he was blinking at her, thinking…oh good he was thinking! She thought for sure he would get it and then…he didn’t? Wait was he smirking? Oh that sneaky guy just wanted her to kiss him again. So she smirked a bit, tried to hide her smile and nodded. ”I could try,” she offered with a slight smile. Standing, stretching she smirked…”but you are going to have to catch me first” she smirked as she immediately headed for the stairs before she had even said the word you she was climbing them…dashing to the second level. |

Quote:
The only thing that could happen did. WHUMP – she and her carrie-on luggage of a best friend slipped down a step. “Ouch” her head had knocked into the back of the stair, lifting her head up was the idea she had…and she did it, but it wasn’t the smart thing. WHUMP WHUMP WHUMP WHUMP FLUMP. They had slipped down all of the stairs – and by the end of it she felt a little sore, and out of breath. ”Kaiden…lets just not try that again? Good idea yeah?” she asked a laugh more like a wheeze escaping her lips before she tipped up gave him a kiss on the cheek. ”now…um, can you move off of my stomach so I can breath?” |
Quote:
O______O "Miks" he said, trying to move so they wound't fall anymore. Some how though, between his moving, and her lifting her head, the began slipping down the rest of the stairs. Quickly, Kaiden fumbled to but his hands behind her head to keep it from bumping any more, causing his hands to get squished with every stair. When they finally reached the bottom, he frowned down at her. "Are you okay?" he asked brushing the hair off of her face. "Yeah, that seems like a good idea." So no more making him give chase yeah? "Oh yeah, sorry." he said pushing himself up. "Is that better? and nothing's broken is it?" |
Quote:
Breathing was awesome. ”I’m fine – are you?” she asked as she started laughing and closed her eyes, momentarily so that she didn’t have to look at how concerned Kaiden’s face was while she laughed. ”Yeah, much better…nah, I didn’t break anything…just a slight head bump earlier…and you put your hand there,” she blushed and opened her eyes to look over to him. ”thank you,” she smiled softly. ”So…apparently stairs aren’t your strong suit then? Or chasing girls up stairs isn’t…understandable you don’t have to walk seven flights of stairs to get to your dorm” she groaned at the thought but smiled. Her dorm was awesome, very airy and…well...freezing at the moment. |
Text Cut: Lex Cassia was listening while still working on her poster..or not really working just her hand hovering above it. She lost motivation than you very much, Lex! Dropping the crayon to the floor, she kept facing forward and listening her lips pursed now. Yuup. Keep insulting the business. Mhhhmm. Go on we're listening. And of course she didn't expect Lex but she didn't answer because it probably was a rhetorical question. She didn't comment. Maybe Lex would stop? Nope, she didn't stop. Madness? This word somehow triggered something. Like somehow Cassia was implied to be a mad person. and mad people were like daft. And everyone knew that Cassia hated this word very verrry muuuch. How could Lex imply such a thing! The snake was starting to fuuuume internally. Without knowing what she was doing, the fourth-year straightened and stood on her knees and moved around Lex, took her by the shoulders and pulled her and it wasn't easy. Because although Cassia was taller she wasn't an athlete. Though she kept struggling and pulling the lioness, who surely wouldn't be dragged willingly. Anyway, Cassia stopped a couple of feet away from the ladder. She was breathing very hard you know. After taking a huge breath in she spoke, "Alexa Christina Cambridge," Yuuup, FULL name! Serious here. " I will not have anyone insult my business," She said narrowing her eyes. Even from a bestie because it'd make you look weak if you don't stand up to your ideas. "Don't let me shove you down." She said as threateningly as she could manage. The truth is that she didn't have the strength to topple anyone, now. But let's pretend she was sweet and gentle. "And don't voice your thoughts in public, please," She added. Last thing CLUE wanted was people having same opinions as Lex. The business already didn't pick much. "Or Felix might actually become Snaty's victim." She wasn't really gonna do this because that'd mean that her owl wins and she would never ever help that. But you know, she needed to set some boundaries here. She totally could be firm with Lex. And now she'll wait for the storm of comebacks. So she sat back on her heels. |
SPOILER!!: Cassia Something told her that she was meant to be alarmed at the fact that Cassia wasn't saying anything but being the oblivious person she was, she couldn't see why so she ignored the mostly serious looks she was getting. It was probably nothing. Maybe Cassia was just internalizing everything she was saying and re-considering things? That was a possibility. Nothing to really concern herself with. Er...until she was being hauled across the floor of the treehouse with her entire name being yelled at her. Blink. Blink. "Hey! Cut that out! Knock it oooooff!" She tried swatting at Cassia's hands but the girl wasn't letting go, not until they were by the ladder again and she was looking down. O__O Again she swatted at the girls hands, this time managing to free herself at which point she hopped up. "OI! What do you think you're doing? I don't think you'd shove me from the top of a treehouse for a love business." Nope nope nope. This was Cassia here. She was positive she meant more to her than a few sickles or the odd galleon or two and she was especially sure that she was worth more to her than that whole falling in love thing. "I was not insulting your business, just saying what I think of it and you don't have to worry about me telling anyone else. I don't think I'll be discussing it much at all. I'm sure it'll work out for you, everyone here seems to want to be paired with someone else." Bleh. She paused and stepped FAR AWAY FROM THE MENTAL SNAKE. No matter what Cassia said, she was convinced she'd crossed over. So had Lottie. It was inevitable, wasn't it? At the very least it seemed contagious. She took a few more steps. "I thought so too. I think we'll leave Felix out of it." For the safety of the bird. |
Text Cut: Freaked out Lex. XD Okay, she started to sweat, seriously! How much did Lex weigh? She really needed to cut down on the ice-cream and the candy. Or Cassia needed to work out? Naaah. It probably was Lex. Surely was Lex. Anyway, where were they? The lioness down the ladder yet? Oh yeah, Cassia decided not, and is she regretting heeer decision?!! So yeah, the lioness got away BUT only because Cassia intentionally loosed her grip. Ha! Wasn't insulting! Though she just pursed her lips hearing out her on-the-blacklist-now-bestie. "Good," That she wasn't going to discuss it in public. And she wanted to disagree big time that everyone wanted a match. Because only Blue and Cassia knew that no one came? "Actually, you'd be surprised," Was all she said. Was Lex moving away? Yes she was. Cassia took three steps closer. Just to test the theory. "Fine, your pet lives," She announced quite dramatically and with a firm voice. Then she paused feeling all awkward. So what now? It wasn't the first time she and Lex bickered but it was the first time it reached the level of 'I'm shoving you down a treehouse'. Oh, well. |
I have literally never made a snowman in my life, loooool Quote:
Rollin' rollin' rollin'... Rollin' rollin' rollin'... ROLLIN' ROLLIN' ROLLIN'... RAWHIIIIIIIIIIII- wait, focus Tobias. He zoned back in from the song that was stuck in his head back to the conversation in time to actually hear Forrest's answer and return question. "I think it's pretty neat here. I mean, I like watching people do magic. That's awesome. I wish I was better at it, but the homework is annoying and I haven't really met many people outside Hufflepuff... but Quidditch is fun!" he nodded, rolling his snowball with such a sudden exuberance that it rolled off on a great escape. With a gasp, Tobias chased after it and caught it before it got too far, before rolling it on back to where Forrest was, a grin still on his face. "Some of the professors are real nice too. Like the one who does the planety things. And the legopuff lady. And I like the flying one too." They were the nicest and funniest ones for super sure. "What's your favourite class?" Roll, roll, roll. It should be big enough soon. |
And I did only once, this past winter. Hehe. Quote:
His face had hardened while listening to Tobias. It wasn't directed at Tobias though, it more directed at his own parents for being muggles. He didn't want to think about them. "We'll probably be better at it by time," he offered more to himself, trying to distract himself from negative thoughts. "And I just met one girl, from Slytherin." No, he had met two girls from Slytherin, but he wasn't going to talk about his... adventures with Sonea. Should he warn Tobias against her, though? Hmm... Hmm... some time later. "I saw you--" Where was Tobias? Forrest frowned, but it dissolved into a grin as soon as he saw Tobias grinning back. "Yeah, I saw you on the Quidditch pitch against, uh," what, "Ravenclaw. 'T was cool." Well at least until Minerva and Ella got hit by a bludger, but Alice had told him such stuff was the part of the game so... surely Tobias knew the dangers? He moved at little away from Tobias to collect fresh snow as he talked about professors he liked. He hadn't met the flying lady himself, but "Professor Flamsteed and Romanos, yes! Flamsteed's the coolest." He was going to charm a TV to work, after all! No one could top that. "But the--the old prof, he is nice too." He was at least fair. "Astronomy and DADA, deffo. Herbology's cool too." Cool professors, cool lessons. And there was minimal wandwork in Herbology, so that also made it into his favourite list. "How about you?" His hands were tired of all the rolling, so he just rested them on the ball as he looked at Tobias. |
Quote:
"welcome" he mumbled to her. "Eh, I think its just the whole chasing girls thing..." because that was weird and confusing. "And I hate climbing those stairs to get to astronomy." But that was maybe the only good thing about Hufflepuff... not having to climb up stairs to get there. Moving from you know, hovering over her all weird like, Kaiden sat beside her. "Its kinda freezing out here you know." |
Quote:
Shivering a bit, she glanced over at him. ”H-h-how a-ab-about yuh-yuh-you ch-check i-in the c-c-castle?” she asked shivering once more. Her whole body was now shivering and shuddering from the cold. They hadn’t been out here that long either. ”and n-no, you h-hurt your h-hand f-far worse than me” her teeth were chattering. She almost sounded like one of those muggle road-crew machines with all the chattering. ”i-its f-fuh-freezing ev-everywhere” she stammered out as she moved to sit up. Still shaking – like a leaf dangling from a tree in the fall. ”lets g-go in then?” she asked stammering. ”Kaiden why are you looking at m-me like I’m a confusing Arithmancy problem?” she asked, raising an eyebrow at him. ”it is…really, cold freezing we should head somewhere the great hall has a fireplace right?” |
SPOILER!!: She IS freaked xD Lex had seen enough muggle movies to know that when one of your best friends goes crazy you STAY A GOOD DISTANCE AWAY. It was totally a rule. One people followed but only the ones who wanted to live. Until some agreement could be reached she was staying right over here and Cassia could stay over theeeeere with her germs. She wanted to force her to leave?? "No you don't. You love my company and you'd end up pretty lonely up here if I were to decide to be offended and climb down." Don't worry, she wasn't offended enough to leave. She was freaked out enough though! Pfffft and there she went defending it again. "Okay fine, not a love business." If she was being honest, she was relieved to hear tha--wait, what?? "Nooo, keep your advice to yourse--" But the girl was talking anyway. SIIIIIGH. Oh but the advice seemed legit enough. "I can accept that." Really, she could. She had no idea what it was and she wasn't interested to know. Lex was about to wave her off. Of course she wouldn't talk about the business. Did she look like the type to go around discussing match making?? Noooope. Candy, Ice-cream, hexes. All much more interesting but she didn't wave her off and she wasn't saying anything else that might have been rude. Nooooo. She was busy STEPPING BACK every time Cassia stepped forward. As she did this she offered her a small smile. Stay Cassia! Staaay! No need to be spreading the germs over here. Weren't things bad enough for her?? "That's wonderful. He'll be happy to know he won't be lunch." Solemn nod and she might have taken another step away. This was just in case. Nothing personal. |
Text Cut: L.E.X Her arms were still folded across her chest as she stood and watched Lex who looked to be disgusted? Terrified? Cassia felt that something was going on in the Lioness's head but the snake couldn't guess. Maybe Lex wanted to shove Cassia down the ladder? Like payback or something. Just in case, she took a step away from the ladder. Because he landing skills weren't that awesome. "Hmm..." She commented meaning that yes she didn't enjoy Lex's company and yeah she was glad she couldn't shove her down the ladder. But see they were kinda fighting and she needed to not abandon her stand just like that. Maybe gradually. "Thank you," she said because Lex accepted. WHY WAS SHE STEPPING AWAY! Did Cassia have a bad breath or something. She brushes her teeth four times a day. "Well, You do know I like Felix," She said returning the earlier faint-barely-noticed smile. "Anyway..." She said unfolding her arms and resting her hands on her hips. So, what now? What do they do. The slytherin, walked over and leaned on a window then looked back to Lex, "So...what's up?" She said casually and watching the Gryffindor closely. Were they done? |
Quote:
And going to Africa next summer or the one after? That was sooner than she had thought, though it wasn't too surprising. She knew her friend had been wanting to go for at least a couple years now. "Is anyone gonna go with you? Jake or your parents?" Or both? And that was true. "Yeah. I kinda hope I know before my OWLs though. Then I don't have to take as many, just the ones for the job I want." That was how she saw it anyway. And the fewer exams she had to take, the better. |
SPOILER!!: Cassia This was no longer amusing. She'd seen it all before and knew that you were most likely to get infected by a friend and look at that! Cassia was one of her BEST friends which meant she was VERY likely to get INFECTED much sooner than she'd originally anticipated And Lex was grinning at her because she liked her company and she was just being too stubborn to admit it. This is the part where Lex should nudge her and grin wider but NO. That required contact and she had to know just how contagious this was first. To think they linked arms down in Hogsmeade! The scandal of it all!! "You're very welcome." And now she was headed for the ladder, inching there slowly. Of course she knew she liked Felix, he was wonderful when he wasn't being a pet menace. "Uh-huh...that's great..." At the ladder she was slowly making her way down when Cassia asked what was up. "Oh, you know, the sky, the clouds, the infection rate! The usual stuff, now I'd love to stay but you have posters to work on for that wonderful business that I'm sure will do great! I'll catch you later, okay?????" Then she quickly slipped down the ladder and bolted toward the castle. Felix would find her eventually but she had a vaccine to go brew. This was SERIOUS. |
Quote:
"I only really know Hufflepuffs. Though I kinda met the other teams after the games so, actually, I think that counts too." Beam. He'd met so many people, really. Oh, Forrest had seen the game? Awesome! "It really was cool. And the best part about playing Keeper is that for like half of the game I can just watch too so I know more about what's going on." PLUS last time he'd been free to actually listen to the commentary and it had been really entertaining. He rolled and rollllled and rolllllllllllllled the snow and eventually Tobias realised just how big it was already getting. The top of the snowball already reached Tobias' waist... that was pretty cool! He rolled it a little further and stopped. "Does this seem like a decent place to keep the snowman?" he asked Forrest, looking around at him. If he agreed then Tobias would start making it steady. "Yeah, yeah! That's their names," Tobias nodded eagerly. He really wasn't good with names... maybe he should work on that. Hmmmm... the old one? "Oh, do you mean, erm..." the boy screwed up his face slightly in concentration, clicking his gloved fingers as though it would help him place the name. "Uhhh... Botros?" That sounded right? Or there could have been a different older professor. His favourite lesson? Tobias tilted his head slightly, staring at the treehouse in thought. Hmmmm. He supposed quidditch wasn't really a class per se, and Arithmancy confused the heck out of him, and some of them were just difficult. "I think I agree with you. I love all the moving about in Astronomy, and the vacuum game was super fun. And that Defence Against the Dark Arts class the other day was awesome. You know... the one about legomancy? With the legopuffs?" Forrest knew the one, right? |
Text Cut: Not So Gryffindor-ish Lex xD Something was off. Cassia could tell. And it wasn't that she smelled. Something even more serious and dangerous if that was even possible. But what with the grinning from AFAR. Cassia usually expected a nudge or a poke. Or dude even a shove would've been reassuring. But THIS. Where was she looking and stepping away? Yeah the snake noticed. They were in a small space, population only the both of them. Of course she'd notice. Then the lioness started talking about the skies? Clouds? What infection? Cassia couldn't wrap her mind around all this and only blinked at her friend. And was that sarcasm? It totally was. Your wonderful business?!. Pffffffffft. It was madness and people-conning just a sec ago. What happened!!!! O____O Did she just leave! Cassia ran to the ladder and only got there when Lex was on the ground and running for dear life......The fourth-year was totally confused about what just happened. Did Lex remember something? Or did Cassia do something to get the lioness into leaving. Now of course she was annoyed and comfortable about the business but she wasn't one to RUN! She was one to shoot comebacks like she was. SO whaaat! After like what felt like a long time, Cassia slowly went to her unfinished poster, folded it and then shoved all the stuff into her bag. Then she slowly descended the ladder with the most confused look on her face. A fazed expression. And like that she walked slowly trying to decipher what just happened. |
Quote:
Kaiden nodded at the girl whose face was all red, and teeth chattering. "That sounds like a good plan." he said. No way did he want to spend any more time out here. it was so cold, and getting late. "We should be getting back anyways." "no, their fine." he said stuffing his hands into his pockets to Nodding, the boy stood up, "yeah, come on...." O_______O "W-what? I'm not looking at you funny!" He was just looking, and freezing. "Anyways, lets go... once we get the the bottom, Icangiveyouapiggybackrideifyouwant." Because it would be warmer that way, yeah. |
Text Cut: Tobias Forrest completely stopped every muscle activity, including breathing, and just looked at Tobias. So he wasn't the only one that failed in magic. He still thought Tobias was better than him, but still... there was still hope that mudbloods could be equally well with purebloods at magic. It was rude to smile at others' failures, but he couldn't hold back a hint of smile. "Did you--" he gulped as his face grew paler with what he was going to ask. He had already decided against asking it to a professor since they were bound to lie about it not to hurt him, but he trusted Tobias to be honest. He wasn't sure whether he wanted to hear the response, but it was a now-or-never kind of situation, and on a whim he asked it at last. "Arepurebloodsbetterthanmudbloods?" He took a deep breath. Had it just got colder here? "A--at m--magic, I mean." His eyes were the size of the moon and he held his breath. Oh so he could watch the game. Forrest vacillated whether he should admit he spent half of his time looking at Alice and the other half examining the stands, but that would be admitting he was a coward, so... there was just one thing that had been bugging him ever since he learnt the rules. "Aren't you afraid of bludgers?" Being the bluntest at asking stuff, yeah. And he did some more rolling not to stare and look like a chicken about it. He shivered visibly though upon remembering Ella's state when a bludger hit her. Nearly fell off her broom... And it was just an enchanted stick! What happened if it ran out of charm, hmm? Quidditch. He'd rather die than play it, because it would kill him anyways. He shrugged. "Yeah, I suppose." What did HE know about snowmans? It was Tobias' specialty. He looked at his balls size and then eyed his. It was smaller than it, but he'd stopped rolling already because he'd seen it in cartoons that it got smaller to the top. Right? Hopefully. Botros? He shrugged. "He didn't tell us his name." He had been far too busy punishing Sonea. Hehe. Legomancy. Forrest giggled. "Yes, I know." Who didn't? "Reckon it's too hard? I mean, it'd be cool to just stare in the eye and know it all." Surely when he was like in fifth class or something he would manage to do it? |
Quote:
But yeah. A teacher sounded fun. She shrugged. "I guess it really depends on when I go. I've talked to Jake about it. I think he'd come with me. He's supportive of it." Which was incredible. She liked that he believed in her and the random things she wanted to do. Anya nodded. That made sense. Fewer exams were better. "Maybe you could shadow someone this summer?" she suggested. Magic people had job shadowing, right? |
Quote:
”th-hey…Kaid, I know you are lying you are hiding yuh-your hands” she stammered and sighed at him. She knew he was hiding something from her. She knew it. And then glanced over to Kaiden…”I think there is – but there is food there so…food is good.” even if it tasted bad. ”really?” she asked excitedly as she stood up and reached down to grab his hand…”Sure. CARRY ME!” she giggled excitedly. |
