Centered among the shops of Hogsmeade is a well enough known pub in the small village, called The Three Broomsticks. Not unlike the Hog's Head down the street in the strictest idea of pubs, drinks and the like, however it is the atmosphere that helps make the latter choice the one hailed by the mass majority. The outside of the building is a good preview of what the inside may look like with the same steep roof as the surrounding buildings, yet taller, with a sign on it's facade featuring, you guessed it, the legendary three boomsticks, all fixed around a lantern to light the patrons' way.
Once you enter the pub, smells and the warmth of the large stone fireplace great you as you place hats and coats by the door. Directly infront of you there are tables and booths lining the majority of the small hall with oil lamps placed on each one. On winter days it is usually hard to find a place beside the large fire grate but if you're early enough, only Merlin can say what will happen. To your left the bar and most likely the bartender Harold "Hops" Lagerty, await you and your order--a few stools await you to take a load off and shoot the breeze with others.
The bartender is pretty sociable to those who don't annoy him. He's seen his lot of warlocks, goblins, and Hogwarts kids to know which ones were trouble and which of those made loyal customers, so be sure not to be put on the first part of the list.
A few rules from the Shop Owner: No brawling, no shouting (angrily), no alcohol to minors, and don't go up the stairs, I live up there.
OCC Rules: No RPing for the shopkeeper and all other School RPG Rules apply.

"Go ahead, sit sit! I was hoping to run into you here at some point." she said, smiling. She then remembered she had been about to go and order. "Oh hey, I'm gonna go order. Want me to get you anything?" she said as she slowly stood out of her chair. Her father had sent a ton of spending money for Hogsmeade so she had plenty to spend and she loved sharing with her friends.
Jory grinned at the startled Ronnie. He remembered at Diagon Alley how she had been startled when he sneaked up on her too. To him, that was even more fun to do. He hugged his friend.
He dropped into the seat. "Cold out there, isn't it?'' he commented and rubbing his hands together. "So, how are you?'' he asked. "And your balance?'' the Puffer added after a second thought. He couldn't help asking. Ronnie had made him laugh his head off. And then he had competed with her during the class's activity.
Food! Jory was feeling hungry now. Mainly because the Three Broomsticks smelt really good. "I think I'll have a butterbeer and... a grilled turkey sandwich,'' he replied, reaching into his pocket for money and taking out some coins. The boy wasn't sure how much the food would cost. "Need any help?''

She nodded. "It's freezing. And I wasn't prepared..." she said, pointing at her thin sweatshirt. "I seriously don't wanna walk back out there." she said, shaking her head and laughing.
Rolling her eyes, she chuckled. Oh jeeez. "Actually, my balance is actually doing better, thank you. I was just erm... sleepy that day." she lied with a smirk.
"Okey dokey!" she said. She then waved a hand, shaking her head when he offered the money. "No worries, Jory. I've got it all taken care of, I have plenty of money on me." she said with a nod and a bright smile at him. She then went off, got the food, and returned seconds later. She set his food and drink in front of him and hers in front of her.
After taking a sip of her butterbeer, she set it down and looked up at Jory. "So, that first defense against the dark arts lesson was pretty fun." she said, giggling at the thought of them trying to be louder than each other.

Jory waited patiently for Ronnie to return. He was looking forward to something really good to eat. Not that he didn't eat anything good. Ice cream was good. No, excellent. He loved ice cream and could it everyday.
"Thank ya kindly,'' the Puffer said when Ronnie returned. "Hungry?'' He didn't mind sharing half of his sandwich. "The butterbeer should warm you,'' he said before taking a bite. It was quite good. The badger grinned. "It was a good thing you didn't get hurt,'' he said, referring to the DADA class. "But that was a fun class. Honestly, I was skeptical about it at first.'' Really, just sitting there and suddenly bursting into laughs and claps was very weird. "But I think I laughed louder than you.'' Jory gave Ronnie a wide grin quite forgetting he had some of the sandwich in his mouth. "Woops. Sorry about that.'' Who liked to see someone else's chewed food?
Jory took a swig of his butterbeer. He always loved this stuff. "Sooo, how's studying for NEWTs?'' He was not as nervous about it as he was for OWLs but he still hated having to study so much.
She smirked at his comment about her having fun with his wardrobe and looked down at his clothes he was currently wearing. "Who says I didn't?" Heh, that had been fun, going through all his stuff and turning it pink so he'd unpack and go O___________O. When he snorted, she raised an eyebrow at him and smirked. "Really? I mean... I wouldn't know. I don't really remember." He had dropped her pretty hard. She hadn't even been able to remember her name.
"Mhmm." she narrowed her eyes and stared at it closely for a moment. "Maybe it's just me being overcautious." Putting down his drink, she eyed it again and pulled a face.
Snorting he shook his head because he sure hoped she hadn't. But he wouldn't put it past her either! GAH, he might just have to check everything he'd packed incase she had decided to pull a prank on him. And it might not be a bad idea to check his clothes before work each day especially the first day... Pulling a face "That was a bad night...." Okay well had started out bad! Ended very well. But it had been the first time they'd had to bring the kids back to Brian's too.
Ever since though each visit had been fantastic and they both looked forward to each visit the kids had at their home. He really couldn't wait to pick them up for the week the next afternoon! First full week since before the wedding! Giving her a loving smile "Overly cautious or not, I still love you."

She gave him a small smirk as he shook his head. Did he really think she'd pass up the opportunity to turn everything in his wardrobe pink? Heck no! She loved seeing his reaction when she did things he wasn't expecting. He always ended up laughing in the end. Shrugging at his face he pulled and memory of the night, she took another sip of her drink. "It's just another memory now." Granted, his memory of that night was less fuzzy than hers, but still, it was now a memory.
Her blue eyes raised to his black ones when he said he still loved her and she grinned. "I should hope so. Otherwise, you made a bad decision in marrying me." Heh. Her new name still sounded strange, but she was slowly getting used to it. As she gazed back down at the glass, her rings caught her eye like they'd been doing for a while now, but her smile only grew because it made her think of the wedding. Her son had walked her down the aisle with all the proudness a five year old could have and had finally accepted Gidyun as part of the family in the weeks running up to the day. "Gid?" she looked up at him. "I love you too."

"You're quite welcome," she said as she sat down. She then shook her head. "Nah, I'm fine. Thanks though." she replied with a small smile. That was nice of him to offer. She took a sip of her butterbeer. It was so delicious! She could drink butterbeer ALL DAYYY! Well... perhaps not, as she would get sick. But still. It was really good.
She laughed. "My falls weren't too painful. I got a little bruise on my knee, though. But it's nothing." she said. Other than falling over about a million times, that class had been pretty fun! Ronnie always loved DADA. She then rolled her eyes when he said he was louder than her. "Oh, please. I was way louder than you!" she said with a firm nod, even though she was pretty sure Jory was louder...but she wouldn't let him know about that.
A small smile played on her face as he grinned and there was a bit of sandwich in his teeth. She didn't really mind though, she thought it was actually a little cute in a way. She waved a hand. "Don't worry about it." she said with a smile.
"Oh, it's alright. What about you?" she asked. Honestly, studying this year wasn't too bad. Not that it was fun or anything. It just wasn't too stressful or hard...surprisingly.

Jory took another bite of his sandwich, chewed on it and then took another swig of his butter beer. He really liked butterbeer. He briefly wondered what the recipe was before turning his attention back to Ronnie.
"So, I suppose you have been falling over all your life?'' he asked with a wink. "And I would have to disagree strongly with you, Ronnie. By far, I was louder.'' The seventh year was enjoying himself by teasing and troubling his friend but he knew she would not mind. And speaking of DADA. "Did you see the year long activity log Professor Romanos posted on her noticeboard?'' There were a lot of interesting stuff to do.
''I don't like studying much but I've gotten used to it,'' Jory went on, munching on a bit of turkey. "It was not like OWLs where is was panicky.'' Yup. He had grown up a lot since then. No longer nervous about major exams. "Arithmancy still bothers me, though,'' he added.

Some details are just slipping my mind!" Like where his cardigan was. Obviously.
Anyways, Christmas present was settled. "I would love that, yes. Just don't bring me the exact same one. That'd be too weird." Unless maybe Botros sat in a wheelchair too and pretended to be Sherman's bigger twin. But that's just for thirty years old children. They were older now. He took the cane and hooked it on the wheelchair's back. "Well I didn't mean your-" He started correcting his gullible friend before laughing it off and waving his hand. "Eh, I guess that works too. I wonder what cardigans make me." Too uptight?
Cocoa. Okay. Greedy friend. Botros nodded and raised his arm to get the bar keeper's attention. "Mr. Lagerty! Mr. Lagerty!" Harold would be nice enough to come over to those two old buddies instead of making them take the trip up to the bar, Botros assumed.
"I did. We're getting too old for remembering things. Ought to start taking Anti-Aging potions sometime soon," Sherman agreed. Memory seemed like more of an issue for Ab than it did for him, seeing as only a couple of details slipped his mind, and he still had Lucia to remind him, but they would start forgetting most everything soon. "Maybe I should get you a planner for Christmas, too."
He, clearly, was an excellent gift giver.
Weird? "You don't want to match?" His voice might have sounded a bit disheartened, but it was fine. They'd still both have equally hideous and warm sweaters, and Sherman was sure all the other old men would be envious. "Cardigans make you.." Pause. ".. neat? And kempt, and.. fastidious." He nodded, pleased with assessment of Abraham's fashion choices, and waited for the bartender to approach them.

"Harold!" Sherman had nearly forgotten that his fellow board member worked at the Broomsticks, too, which proved Botros' theory that they were just too old for remembering details nowadays. "You're welcome to join our wardrobe discussion if you'd like. Although these people must be keeping you busy." He gestured to the crowd within the cafe, glad he wasn't one to have to keep up with all the orders. "Could I also get some of your sliced fruit, please?"
He was an elderly man, y'know. Fruit. Good for the intestines or whatever.

"Dora!" YAY! Taryn grinned and put away the magazine. Dora could have it later. First, it was catch up time. "Aww now, what's wrong with Hogwarts? I thought you liked it there!"
Dora gave Taryn a LOOK. A totally unimpressed look. It was like she'd forgotten about all the complaining she'd done in her letters. "I liked it BEFORE this year, when we have to pay for everything and clean stuff. If all my friends weren't here, I'd leave." Because really, they were her only reason for sticking around.
But she didn't come here to be fussy about Hogwarts, she came to spend TIME with Taryn, and so she settled in her seat and beamed across at the older girl. "What have you been up to lately? Order drinks yet? I want a butterbeer." Her eyes drifted over to the magazine.

Zeke entered the Three Broomsticks looking like he just woke up but still hot. His messy brown hair and tired icy blue eyes gave it away. He threw on whatever shirt he got his hands on first thing in the morning, settling for a gray v-neck shirt and then later on added a black sweater. He tossed on black trousers and the first pair of shoes he got as well.
His eyes wandered around in search for her face among the people seated. Hmm. Maybe he was a little too early? The Gryffindor took off his sweater and hanged it by the door then walked over to one of the seats by the bar. He'd get something while waiting, I guess.
It was cold outside. Melanie knew that very well. Her hands were stuck in her pocket because if she took them out she was pretty sure every single one of her fingers would turn into icicles or fall off. If she got to choose though, she'd choose the icicles over having her fingers fall off any day. She would've also preferred to stay inside the common room by the fireplace because it was warm but she had plans today. Those plans made Melanie smile and forget about the cold outside just a little bit.
Melanie missed Abby loads. Abby was practically Melanie's older sister and they would be meeting today at the Three Broomsticks and Melanie was going to be there even if there was a blizzard. Because she wanted to talk to Abby. Owls and photographs were very different from seeing someone and talking to them face to face. The Gryffindor pushed the door open to The Three Broomsticks and walked inside. Oh, what to get? Or should she wait till Abby got here first?
That was probably smart - waiting. She wandered around the pub, unsure of where to sit before settling on a table not too far away from the doorway. Because what if Melanie decided to sit near the back and Abby didn't see her? Then that would be a waste of a trip, wouldn't it? She fixed her scarf and hat, not really wanting to take them off, before staring at the door.
Because Abby was going to walk through any second now and she needed to be able to see and greet the older girl. Yup.

Abby practically skipped into the three broomsticks, the brightest smile on her face. She was going to see Melanie! Her sister. The person she loved most in the world. Apart from her parents, that is. And Chace. They hadn't met in a really long time and Abby had SO much to say to her.
Okay. So. Where was she now?
"Melanie!" Abby yelled, spotting her not too far from where the eighteen year old was standing. She hurried over to Mel, almost bumping into someone in the process. What? She was so excited.
"Hey!" The former Hufflepuff hugged her sister tightly for a few seconds before finally pulled away. She sat down on the opposite side of the table, grinning. Sorry. She just couldn't stop smiling. Even for a second.

"I've missed you so much!"
Adjusting and readjusting her scarf, she waited for Abby to arrive. It was much warmer inside than it was outside and Melanie could definitely feel it. She wondered if this was what tea leaves felt like when hot water was poured on them to make a nice pot of tea. Probably.
Melanie was a bit wrapped up in her thoughts about tea when she heard her name. "PRESENT!" Melanie called out, standing and almost knocking over the chair she had been sitting in. Eep. Melanie steadied the chair and waved at Abby, grinning from ear to ear. Before she knew it, Abby seemed to have like... apparated from the doorway to in front of her and was now hugging her tight. Still smiling, Melanie hugged the elder girl back, feeling like she had so much to say and nothing at the same time.
Really, she wouldn't mind if she just sat there and listened to Abby talk. It had been a very long time she she had seen the girl. "Hey Abby," she said after Abby released her. She sat back down in her seat, smoothing her hair out. It was strange really - every time she saw Abby, she had this feeling that the girl got prettier. One day, Melanie would be as pretty as Abby... or at least she hoped so. Though if she was as pretty as her mother or Elaine, she wouldn't mind either.
"I've missed you too! Tell me everything! How are you? How have things been going? How's work? What fun things have you done? Are things going well?" She could go on forever with these questions. But she stopped because she had ran out of breath and needed another big breath to ask more questions.

Abby laughed when Mel asked her a hundred questions at once. She shrugged out of her coat and draped it on the back of her chair before turning to face Mel again.
"I'm great! Awesome, actually. I'm working now! Can you believe that?" Yeah. Abby wasn't that happy about working BUUT she was saving money to travel. To see the world. And she was excited about that. Super excited, really. "I've.. kind of decided to travel next year. I'm going to be visiting new places and meet new people.." She honestly couldn't stop smiling, even for a second. Seeing Mel again made her so happy. "How are you!? How is school?"
"As for fun things.." Um. Abby wasn't sure how to go on. She wasn't sure how Mel would react to be honest. "I.. er.. got a tattoo." But it was something she'd been wanting to do for ages so she was glad when was finally brave enough to do it. "It hurt a LOT but the pain was worth it."

"How about you? What have you been up to lately?"
She was practically bouncing in her seat with excitement that Abby was here. It had been much, much, muuuuccccch too long. Melanie waited patiently for Abby to answer her questions and refrained from asking more.
Working? "What are you working as? Is it fun? Is it exciting?" Melanie asked, beaming. Melanie actually missed working and that winter break back at home where she got to visit her old boss and the whatnot was fun. Ah... work... Saving money for the future and all too - that was important. Traveling? "You're going to travel? So... you won't really be around much?" Melanie asked a bit hesitantly. Traveling meant Abby was going to be even further didn't it? That would mean that she'd see Abby even less than she did now. She fiddled with her scarf and fixed her hat again.
"Ah. I'm good, it's all been alright. School's been fine. A lot less sparkly though." Melanie missed the sparkly Hogwarts. The shiny Hogwarts... not Hogwarts 2.0 where you had to do everything yourself and eat with a spork. Hopefully next year, it'd be Hogwarts 3.0 - shinier and sparkly-er than the original Hogwarts.
The Gryffindor blinked at Abby a few times trying to register what Abby had just said. She wasn't sure if she had heard correctly but she was pretty sure that Abby had said tattoo and not tatertots. "You got a tattoo? What's it of?" she asked, tilting her head slightly to the side. Tattoos were weird, but she supposed it was a way of... expressing oneself? It was like clothes except... more permanent. And stuck on you. And... y'know... it hurt a lot more than wearing heels on a ten mile hike.
"Nothing. I haven't done anything really interesting. Just waiting for the school year to end and go back on vacation." Because summer was fun. Melanie missed summer and vacations and everything that went with it.
