A room that was once just a door that was near the Divination Classroom ladder is now open for students and staff alike to enjoy. The Tea Room is a small little tower room about the same size as Professor Elwood's office but instead of being cluttered with books it has a few small tables and chairs in the center with tea sets set-up for either practice or a pleasurable afternoon tea with friends.
This room is free to be used by anyone for practice for whatever you are working on in Divination (there are supplies in the closet. Everything from tarot cards to lithomancy stones.) or just to meet up with friends and chat. This room also serves as the meeting place for the Spreading the Noble Art Club, an extracurricular Divination club.
OOC: School and SS rules apply. Professor Elwood or someone else will most likely catch you if you use this room inappropriately or for snogging, so be warned. Have fun!
Mika was grinning from ear to ear after what Professor Elwood had said. Of course they could do it she was there it was Hogwarts School of Wizardry. They had survived so many different (and horrendous) issues in the past and this was just another issue they had to work around...and well, find a way to fix.
"Professor Elwood, I believe we can we are at Hogwarts and for one - it should be considered a Historical landmark in Wizarding history." she nodded, and then glanced around at everyone equally (some more than others really) "Because the great war happened here - and some of those portraits were here since then - the Gringotts Goblins should not have taken them in the first place." Oh yeah was she ripped about that.
Portraits were cool. She quieted down after a minute and just took a quill and piece of paper out of her bag to jot down notes on what to say. Heck, she was just going to write the letter here and now.
SPOILER!!: beginning of a letter
Dear Gringotts Bank,
To whomever is reading this letter – I will apologize if you have nothing to do with this outrageous action brought upon Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. However, if you are either aware of said actions or were a part of it, I must say that without a doubt I despise you and your ‘oh-so-noble’ profession. Which frankly, isn’t all that noble. And lets be clear, if you do not know about these outrageous actions please, I, as well as many of my fellow classmates implore you to step outside for a day and head to the nearest Daily Prophet kiosk. As not knowing about this clearly indicates that you either do not read the newspaper, of which you should do as they are rather well knowledge in the actions at this school, or you live in a dark little hidey-hole somewhere beneath Gringotts Bank. And if that later is the case, I still suggest that you head outside and breath fresh air that doesn’t reek of caves and dragon breath.
......

Minerva listened to Professor Botros. The man was so interesting and grandfatherish. Maybe that's what she really liked about him. She knew her own grandfather was so knowledgeable and wise. She loved to listen to his stories and learn so many lessons from him. She felt Professor Botros was the same in that aspect, wise and full of great stories.
Sipping her tea, Minerva loved the taste of it and the warmth it was bringing. Her focus then went back to Professor Elwood as she began to speak again. Oh those goblins. Min was in this very room when one came in and decided he owned everything. She couldn't help but grumble quietly about this.
Hand shooting up, "Professor, is there certain people that would be better to write to or just the group as a whole. I think this is a great idea. If more of us take charge and do this, then they will see that they are hurting our education. Yes we are still getting one, but look how much more enriching it could be if they would find other ways to deal with whatever is going on." because lets be honest the only way the students really knew what was going on was because of the paper.
Botros gave Callie a bright smile when she clapped lightly, and he really appreciated her closing the window and saving his bones. Oh but wait, a Gryffindor had a question... an inquiry? "I don't think the woman ever visited us at home." He answered, a bit dumbly. There was no evidence that she could get close to his luggage so... nope. Not her. Besides, wasn't the girl in the SNAC meeting? Was she questioning the legitimacy of Divination? Ab had a puzzled look on his face for about a moment before professor Elwood drew their attention once again.
An angry letter! Yeaaahhhh! He felt like fistbumping the air. But wait, Callie was staring at him meaningfully. He just gave her another puzzled look. Okay, okay, he was going to help with this angry letter writing. That was what she wanted, no? He was here to help. For now though, he continued eating his cake and sipping his moroccan tea. MmMmm!
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
Uh-huh...so just because the woman never visited them at home she automatically had no way of getting to his luggage? Rubbish. There was any number of ways one could get to an old man's luggage without them even noticing but she wasn't about to say that, naaaaaah, she was too busy settling in with her own cup of hot chocolate again now that she had served everyone tea. Tea was cool but it was Lottie's thing, not hers.
As she sipped she listened to every word spoken by the Professor and actually burned herself a bit with it when she heard what they'd be doing.
hsvkgfdkfvk!!!
"Like legit??? We get to write strongly worded letters and they'd actually get it???" NEEEAT!!! Writing wasn't usually fun but with a purpose like THAT she could see hr writing parchments full of words all aimed at those rude people.
But perhaps not so rude because they didn't take the ice-cream machine. Still!!! "I can do that!!!" BEEEAAAM.

Sitting in the back of the room where she had been All along, listening intently to what everyone was saying, writing down what some of the others had said about what they wanted to learn and what they thought and stuff, cause Ariana liked notes and stuff you know. She listened as professor Elwood talked about strongly worded letters, in other words, angry letters and she Slytherin just smirked to herself.... she could DO that, in fact it was Right up her alley, she was thrilled...
Ethan had been busily chowing down on his piece of cake, listening to Botros' story and accepted a cup of tea from Alexa. Oh.. were they to be reading tea leaves again? But apparently not as he listened further to Professor Elwood and sipped his tea. Oh yeah, this was much better than that bitter stuff they had for class.
Yes, he had heard about the repossessed crystal balls. Sad too, because he had been hoping they'd do a little gastromancy this term. He looked up curiously as she continued. Strongly worded letters? Somehow he thought they would be doing a different sort of activity in this club and he mulled that thought over. Sure, he thought they should take a stand to better enrich their education, but he highly doubted that the goblins cared much about that other than getting their money and having their debts repaid. They weren't going to return anything unless it was paid for.. or traded for something else maybe? And really, what did Hogwarts have left of value that could be spared?
And to be honest, he wondered if the Board of Governors cared all that much.. He didn't see much in the way of a solution from them and wasn't it their purpose to see that the students had a decent education? And yet they let things like the repossession of literally all of their educational supplies take place. Ethan didn't hold out much hope that strongly worded letters from a handful of students would make much difference, but he would at least make the effort and contribute.

Wait, hang on. So she really DIDN'T want him to open the window? Okay, so then why the heck did she want him to-
Heh. Blink. He got it now. She wanted to see him get up and go across the room so she could watch him. Well then... he'd walk BACK over to his other seat now. Get an eye full Professor. Smirky smirk.
"Yeah, ma'am." he smirked and closed the door. Then he slowly walked back over to his side of the room for her, you know? He was being a good samaritan. Then he sat back in his seat and tried to listen up, but he was kind of smug.
....they were doing what? Writing. Yeah, he hadn't signed up for this. Not at all.
Sent in my SNAC application. Hope it's OK to post.
Asher had been sitting very quietly, but perked up when the Professor mentioned writing a letter to the goblins about the crystal balls that were taken. He knew this was something he could do and quickly pulled out his quill to take some notes. After scribbling down a few key points, Asher cleared his throat and spoke so quietly that hardly anyone could hear him "I can do that. I can write a letter."
