Nashville just nodded and nodded. He just didn't know what to say at that moment. So him and Ethan might just think alike? Picnics and all but what else was there to do at Hogwarts, swimming, picnics but what else for a date. Maybe that Hogsmeade place? Yes! That would be cool but it wasn't open yet. He knew that he wasn't stupid but everyone made him feel like he was and it hurt but even the words that Minnie spoke made him feel stupid and he knew that she didn't mean it and wasn't trying to but he was just so used to it.

She nodded when Minerva said it looked cold. “Yeah well, its not so bad…I once went swimming in April back when I lived in Melbourne and that’s winter there” she shivered at the thought. “This is nothing like jumping into the water when its freezing out which is really rather a good thing” she smiled at Minerva.

“Aw I’m good now,” she nodded a she summoned the dress she had been wearing and pulled it on over her now dry bathing suit. There now she wasn’t just standing in what was basically a bikini in the middle of a slightly cool day. She smiled when asked if she was enjoying the term. She was the term was interesting so far – despite the dust, dirt, and grime. “Yeah the terms going well so far despite the plastic cups and having to pay to go to the great hall and well, to the dorms and all that” she chuckled at that idea. Really, she didn’t like that she had to pay to go sleep at night. It was rather ridiculous – even still, she kept smiling until she was asked how things were.

“I um, yeah…things, are, they are fine” she muttered somewhat. “I mean – I just…relationship things” she muttered unclear about how to describe it, before she could answer though Nash had basically excitedly yelled and asked her how the water was. “Cold, the water is rather cold…but its nice” she smiled brightly.

“um, anyhow yeah things…I just think I might like someone and also like someone else” she sad as she leaned on the balls of her feet and just rocked back and forth for a moment. She smiled at both of them happily though this wasn’t a big deal. “just confusion so thought that could help” she pointed at the water as she said that. Because water was a thing and a thing was a that right?

Out of no where Nashville just got really hyper and a smile was plastered on his face and unable to come off. He just felt like bouncing up and down but he kept himself pretty cool. Of course the water would be cold, it was October and it wouldn't be all that warm now would it? Nope. Not one bit. That was just common sense but he would be dumb enough to jump into the water at some point today. But not now. Nashville looked over at Mika as she was speaking and it was always nice to listen to people when they spoke...even if you didn't like what they were saying or wanted to say something and they wouldn't allow you to do that. But he liked what Mika had to say. It was always interesting to him but he liked what most people had to say.

Nashville blinked and looked at the water and back at Mika. Was she wearing a bikini? He liked near the beaches of Rio de Janero so he knew what a bikini was. Nashville shook his head. SHE WAS WEARING A BIKINI. So major blushing was going on for Nashville, his tan face went bright red and he had to look away. He blinked once more. Nashville managed to spit out. "You look nice." He coughed, looking out at the water. Oh good! She was changing. Dress. Dresses were nice and pretty and yeah. Nashville rubbed the back of his head and waited for someone to say something because he just felt so awkward and knew that he should have kept his big mouth shut.

Minerva wasn’t sure what to say, from what she knew of Nash she liked him and couldn’t figure out why others wouldn’t. Yeah he seemed a bit full of himself when it came to quidditch, but other than that he seemed to be sweet and decent. “How do you know they hate you? If you don’t know why they would, maybe they don’t. Maybe it’s just a misunderstanding.” Could he be that insecure that he felt people hated him when they didn’t. She didn’t see that being possible, because he seemed so confident.

Minerva nudged him a bit with her hand, “Nash.. Stop.. Your not stupid. You that a girl was cute, you went for it. There is nothing stupid about that. “ She shook her head, now that was silly why would on earth would he say that about himself. Hmmm maybe the insecure thing wasn’t too far off. Maybe she had a good knack to see that, since she hid her own insecurities as much as possible. No one ever wants to see weak or self conscious. “If anything I would say your spontaneous and that can be a good thing at times. “ She thought for a moment and then turned towards him, [b] “So now.. you just need to figure out, was this the right decision. If you want to keep dating her great, but if it seems like it’s not going anywhere or if she isn’t in it the way you are, it’s time to end it and move on.

That just sounded crazy, why would anyone want to swim in the winter or when the water was cold period, Minerva just couldn’t figure it out. Maybe temperatures didn’t affect her like they did others. Hmm “Where is Melbourne?” Should she know this, Minerva wasn’t sure. She wasn’t great at geography and coming from the States she was completely lost ”Well was it a good swim at least?” Even if it was cold as long as it did what she set out for it to do, then Minerva could see why the girl would have went swimming.

Smiling Minerva was glad that Mika was dry and warmer, and watched as she put something over her suit. Well that made her look warmer at least. [b] “ Yes, it’s sad some of the setbacks the classes have had to go through. The plastic cups shocked me, even if the school is struggling with money, for some odd reason, you would think they would at least still have materials from terms before.”[‘b] Then the whole paying for stuff, Min just rolled her eyes at it, because it was so odd, “I just wish we had an explanation of all of it.” That’s all she really wanted, was a good explanation. She figured parents were all asking the same thing, but she didn’t really have anyone to ask those questions for her, so she needed to know them for herself.

Min chuckled a bit, “Well you came to the right group, we were just discussing some relationship issues of our own.” Well she wasn’t as much as Nash, but they had spoke about Ethan not liking the nickname. Speaking of Ethan she probably should go find him soon to discuss why he was upset about it. “Oh I know that feeling, before I dated Ethan I thought I might like him and someone else. Best advice on that one, just follow your feelings. I did and I couldn’t be happier a year and a half later.” She smiled at this thought she did follow her feelings and it was the best thing she had ever done.

Mika didn’t even notice Nash’s blush-faced-reaction. She just noticed the fact that she was no longer cold. And the fact that Nash had said she looked nice – she just flushed. “Oh, thanks” she muttered as she glanced at the dock.

“Melbourne is in Australia” Mika smiled her accent somewhat slipping through the cracks. Yep, she sounded less and less British by the second. “Have you ever thought maybe – maybe there is no explanation because they don’t know how to explain it?” Mika asked, looking over at the two older students.

“I mean – there wasn’t much of an explanation back in the 1990’s when the Gringotts vault was broken into” she offered with a shrug. And they had upped the security since then right? “Relationship issues?” She asked with a chuckle. That was nice to know about.

“Ah that is good advice” Mika beamed at Min, “thanks…and wait, Ethan do you mean Ethan McCarthy the Ravenclaw?” She asked with a beaming smile. “If so he’s really nice he made his gargoyle do this super cool thingy at the study tables the other day” she offered with a laugh. In other words she approved.

She took the chocolate frog a little faster than she originally meant to before BEAMING over at him. "Thanks! But not one less, I'll consider this one on loan, pay you back when I go back to my Common Room." These were serious times, she couldn't deprive Aidan of candy, it just wouldn't be humane.

Aidan shrugged. "Fine by me." He wasn't the one quickly running out of chocolate. He'd been pretty good at it, actually. Anyone would be proud.

What good food tastes like? The boy chuckled. It wasn't that hard to remember, you know. "Of course I can." It'd only been a few weeks since they'd been here, after all. "I miss it, though. Chicken nuggets especially." Because that was the best food next to candy and he still had candy.

He laughed harder as Lex snatched the frog from him...and harder still when she said she'd pay him back. "Yeah, sure you will." Like Lex would really GIVE UP a chocolate frog. "You need them more than I do." Remember her banning from last term? He didn't want to be around that again.

Oh Australia, Minerva still wasn't sure if she should have known that or not, but she really didn't know much about Australia, so she decided it was okay not to know. "Is it nice there?" Of course she was curious about it, she wanted to see all over the world so getting to know a few places would be great.

Chuckling a bit, she nodded, "Yeah, Nash was talking about his issue, so if you have issues, you've come to the right place." Shrugging a bit, she was a pretty good listener and liked to help people solve their problems. So if Mika felt comfortable she would be glad to help.


Listening to Mika's explanation of what was going on she shrugged, "There is always an explanation, whether people care enough or not to get the answer is what makes the difference. Maybe not enough people cared why it was broken into then, so it just got shrugged off. I don't see parents just sitting around letting this go without a good explanation." Well at least the ones that had parents who could care. She knew her grandparents had no clue what was going on here and were so confused just with the magic part that anything else was pointless to tell them.

Minerva felt a blush cross her face and a very big smile cross her lips, "Yes Ethan McCarthy, we've been together for about a year and a half now." She couldn't believe it had been that long, it didn't seem that long at all. "Yes I think he's nice... Oh he did, well that doesn't surprise me, he's brilliant at everything he does." She beamed talking about him.

Lucky him, he could remember. All her tongue was registering was the taste of sugar and the taste of the food in the Great Hall. Between the two there was no space to remember anything else. SIGH. "Yeah, hey maybe they'll have some when we get to Hogsmeade! I like to tell myself that they have everything I miss about good food there." Nod. It helped her sleep at night and swallow the food during the day.

"They have to," he said, nodding his head. "It's the House Elves up and quitting why our food's so horrible, but they don't use them in Hogsmeade." That Aidan knew of...so he was pretty positive their food was still good. Hence why he was going and making sure Lex came along so they could both eat a meal that wasn't mostly sweets.

It IS very true, Lex. But don't worry about it. Maybe he'll just take her candy once he knew she had more of it. But not now, when she was running low.

Lottie. The Ravenclaw sighed. "No." Of course they hadn't. This was Lotus they were talking about. "She doesn't want to talk to me ever so we couldn't sort anything out even if we wanted to." Secretly, he wanted to. It bugged him that she didn't like him. Especially when he was completely RIGHT about Kaiden. Which...sort of proved she was wrong about him, yeah? Sigh.

He raised a very good point right there. "There's that Ravenclaw logic coming up." And noooo she didn't forget he was a Ravenclaw, it was just a fact that she felt like stating. "It's gonna be weird going to Hogsmeade for something other than candy..." VERY weird, "Unless we're hitting the candy shop right after....Are we?" Going before wouldn't work. Aidan lowered himself back to lay down on the dock, his arms tucked under his head like a pillow and eyes closed against the sun. "'Course we're going to Honeydukes." Seriously? Did she think they'd just stroll past the sweet shop while in a food/candy shortage/crisis?! No. Never. They had to restock. Constantly. Merlin knows Lex can blow through any amount her father sends her in a matter of days.

He opened his eyes to give Lex a look with a raised eyebrow. Who cared how old Lottie was? So she was 14 already. Big whoop. Aidan rolled his eyes right before shutting them again. "If she wants to try, she can come to me." ...He was always up for trying. Lotus not liking him was something he wished he could get over, but couldn't stop thinking about. At least...not whenever she was brought up. It wasn't like he cared any other time. He had better things to do, you know.

Another chuckle escaped his lips. "Fourteen's not old." Their parents were old. His sister was old. Him? Not so much. "And not until December." So he still had months.

"Sure, any time." Lex said, now looking out at the lake like she'd been doing before he came. Her face got a distant look on it and her thoughts were already floating over to the candy shop. He only took one look at the water before curling up on Aidan's stomach. Once again, Aidan opened his eyes. The paws on his stomach startled him for a moment. However, Felix was always welcome to lay on top of him. He shifted his arms so his head lay more in the crook of one of his elbows, so he could pet the kneazle with his other hand.

"Mutual grounds?" he scoffed. "There's nothing mutual about her. I've always had an unfair disadvantage." Lottie didn't like him before she ever even spoke to him, okay? And he was always the one trying and she was always the one judging. She'd have to be the one to come to him to make it even. Any effort on his part and he'd still have worked harder at this than the Hufflepuff had.

Yeah, Lex, it's not. Thank you for agreeing. Or...changing your mind, rather.

What did he want? He took a moment to think, muttered an, "Erm...," then went silent again. "I don't know..." All he'd wanted lately was a broom and he got one over the summer. "Something fun, I guess. Or something Muggle. ......Or a book." They were all...almost the same thing. Or could be the same thing. "Maybe ask me when it gets closer."

One day she would have to have a talk with the kneazle about loyalty but for now it was fine. In future though, lovely kneazle, water was not a good excuse for abandonment of the person that feeds you. Just saying. Lottie didn't make it easy for him, even she noticed that. "How's about ground neither of you have covered before? That way neither of you would have a clue what's what and neither would have the advantage." But of course that only worked in theory because there were other variables to consider, like Lottie's impatience and Aidan's knack for becoming smug since lately. Those two didn't mix well...nope.

She was listening to his suggestion but her ears went into shock at the suggestion of her getting him a book.

Lex didn't know how she felt about that but she nodded nonetheless; mostly to the asking him again later. "I guess I'll just do that then." Meant she wouldn't have to bust her brain trying to figure it out for a good while more. "One year closer to being able to use magic outside of school! Can you imagine how fun that'll be?? You in your sixth year but getting away with it. 'Course I'll have to see so I'd have to visit you over the Christmas or something." It'd be epic...but sad because both he and Lottie would be able to and she'd have to watch.

Aidan squinted at her, half because of the sun, half because what she was saying made no sense. "Thought the 'ground' was sorting things out. It's been covered. Multiple times. She still has the advantage." She always would, really, actually. Because, ultimately, it was up to Lotus to decide if they got along.

He scratched Felix behind the ears. Then, positively BEAMED. "WICKED! I could do it that very Christmas!" He was sooo looking forward to showing off everything he could do to his family. Maybe duel with his dad! "You'd visit. And we could fly around all day and just summon everything we needed!" WICKED. He couldn't wait!!

The look on his face was dismissed, his first set of words were too but not because she didn't care that he felt he couldn't win against Lottie, it was more because there was no point arguing it. They were going to have to get it sorted out and her pushing things might have made it harder for them to do so when they finally decided they would.

So yeah, she would just drop it in exchange for a much nicer conversation; Magic outside of school.

"It'll be EPIC!!!" GRIN. See Lottie, Aidan wasn't making jokes about not having her benefit as well once she was able to use magic. He was offering to summon her stuff for her convenience! Really, it was the least they could do after growing up without her and by-passing laws without her. "Can you imagine just how much we'll get away with?? I mean, so long as no muggles are around to ruin everything."

They had a way of doing that when they were around. Just look at her step-mum. "You'll think you'll even get to have a duel with someone so I can watch?"

Ofim was getting fed with with classes and having to pay to actually DO ANYTHING at this darn place. There was NO way that they'd charge the kids to go swimming, right? He hoped he was right.

As he approached the dock, he noticed people. HEY HE KNEW ONE OF THEM...but she was talking to someone else. Oh well.

As soon as he reached the dock, he took a running start and dove into the water splashing whoever was nearby

Nashville shook his head. Nope. Nothing. Not a thing. Oh well. Nashville looked out into the distance, he was listening to what they were saying but not really listening because he felt like he got cut off and that he couldn't even talk about his issues but that was just him being a selfish brat so he just wasn't going to say anything at all. Maybe he would go for a little swim? Yes? Nashville stretched for a moment and then he shook his head. It was a YES to the swimming, would it be alone? Well of course because people couldn't handle the cold water and he could. Cold water, warm water, hot water, it was all the same to him. With a slight nod of his head Nashville began to pull his dark colored shirt off and over his head, his tan rock hard abs were bare, no one every saw them not way up here, like in Europe, but his Rio de Janeiro they always did but mostly when he was at the beach. Nashville stood up and with one swift jump he did a cannonball into the cold water.

...She didn't say anything back. Did that mean he won? Lex wasn't going to push this 'sorting things out' nonsense anymore? Good. Because it wasn't happening.

Magic was MUCH more fun to talk about!

"We could do ANYTHING!" he exclaimed. "And we won't have muggles at my house." Or like...Diagon Alley? Or...they could definitely think of other places they could go so he could do magic and she could watch and they'd have fun!!!

His grin widened more, if possible. "I CAN ASK DADDY TO DUEL WITH ME!!" That would be the BEST!!! He'd win! And if he lost...it would still be COOL!

Now she was positively buzzing with some new level of energy that seemed to come out of nowhere. "Anything." She repeated with a dazed smile. That sounded VERY appealing, especially once the holiday got boring and they needed something else to do. The possibilities were endless and had her gazing off all sparkly eyed.

She could already see it, things going BOOM, loud things, fast things, epic things. Merlin!! She didn't think she wanted to wait much longer!!!

Somehow she managed to pull herself out of the daze. Annnnthing. "Awesome!!! We'll definitely get away with stuff!!" No muggles Aidan would have to hide his magic from. Her wand would be at home. No use taking it if she couldn't use it; too tempting. "Unless you have muggle relatives pulling a surprize visit?" And that right there was a curious thought. She didn't know if he even had muggle relatives. Did he?

By now she was grinning as much as he was. "Eeeep! You could!! Imagine if you won too!!" THAT would be something. Think about it, he'd have only been a fresh sixth year and his father would have years of experience.

She couldn't help it. She couldn't help but be wrapped up into that conversation with Min - because Min was smart. And smart people were awesome and claw-like. And no wonder Ethan liked her yeah? But then she saw it.

He was. Oh.

He was taking off his shirt.

She blinked a few times and just stood there, watching as Nash jumped into the lake. He was going to freeze...and he had abs. She'd never seen a shirtless guy on purpose really. There was that one time she saw her friend - but he was half-way changing out of gross quidditch uniforms.

And well.

She was kind of blushing. Nerves and all.

"Um...yeah you are probabsly...right" oh crud. Had she just said abs? Yes. She was certain of it. And inwardly flailing. "Um...Min, I've got a question as a fellow er...girl...do you have any advice on well...fuh...u, flirting?" She asked stammering over her words some more. Thank you flusteredness. That wasn't fun. And it sounded like mustard. So she just was focusing on different words to calm her brain down...and well, it was working for the most part. Except that she randomly, or seemingly randomly just said "mustard mustard mustard" out loud a few times.

Minerva was talking to Mika and she thought Nash, but all the sudden Splash.. wait.. what.. Where did he go. She looked not seeing him take off his shirt or even jump into the water, but why would she be looking at her friend in that way he was just a friend.

Though.. Minerva tilted her head and watched Mika, what was going on with this girl. Looking at Nash in the water and then back to Mika it hit her and she giggled a bit. "Oh.. umm flirting. Well I don't know, I guess just be friendly and complement him. Any chance you get maybe touch his shoulder or arm, hugs are fun too." Minerva really hoped that was good advice, she really wasn't sure what the correct answer was to flirting. Had she ever even really flirted. Well maybe with Ethan at first, but she wasn't sure if that was just being friendly or if you could say that was flirting.

Leaning closer to Mika she whispered, "You know I could head back to the castle if you want to umm swim too." It was obvious what was going on there and she was the third wheel. She then got up, "Hey Nash.. I am going to head back up to the castle, find Ethan and smooth things over with this nickname thing. I'll catch you later, alright?" She winked at Mika and headed up to the castle.

Min was giving her strange looks. Her jaw was dropping.

“I just” she squeaked, “I’ve never seen a guy…shirtless” the fifthteen year old honestly spoke. Her eyes widening in shock as she tried to stop Min from leaving. Seriously. She needed help.

“I already – oh…” she gasped. “You think? No…I like a guy in my year.” She nodded. Nervously biting her lip as she thought about her friends. “Nash is a friend…a friend with abs but a friend.” She nodded and felt her face redden as she spoke.

“Hugs…okay, and shoulder touching.” She nodded. Still she was a bit discombobulated right now. “I should, probably…go do that…try the flirting thing that is.” She nodded as she turned and looked to the school.

“I should, I should I think…I probably should go” she was nervous now with the whole girl thinking she liked Nash thing. Sure – he was attractive but he was…she was she well, she liked someone else

Minerva stopped when she heard Mika and then looked confused and walked back to the dock. Looking at Nash swimming and then to Mika, "but I thought.. the looks..oooooohhhh" Minerva giggled, she never remembered getting that flustered over seeing a boy without a shirt, but she found it interesting. She really wondered if Mika kind of liked Nash without even knowing it.

Looking towards Nash she would admit, he was a cutie, but not really her type. Plus he was not as cute as Ethan, but no one really was now were they. Sitting back down on the dock she listened to Mika. "Yeah I would do stuff like that I guess." She looked at Nash a bit, maybe she should call him over and show her what she meant, but would someone take that the wrong way... probably.

"I'm trying to think of the best ways to explain I guess. I don't think I'm doing that good of a job. Honestly Mika, I think it's just natural to do it around someone you like. So whatever boy you like, then when your around him it will just come." Hopefully it would at least.

Oh she wanted to leave, frowning a bit, "No don't leave, this is fun.. I'm sorry I got the wrong Idea." Don't leave because of my dumbness is what Minerva really wanted to say.

Mika blinked a few times when she realized that she had made Minnie think she was leaving because of her. It wasn’t because of her at all. It was more because well – partly because she was hungry and partly because she didn’t want to catch a cold.

She was blushing still of course. “Oh okay…but, um I wasn’t leaving because of this conversation” Mika smiled at Min. “No, it was more…well, nerves maybe? I thought ‘lets go and do this’…my can-do-attitude made me want to can-do-myself into flirting with someone and practicing.” She blushed as she spoke. It all sounded so cruel the way she had said it.

But it wasn’t going to be just anyone she’d do that with the right person. Right? “Um…I kind of…wanted to go and get ice-cream” she admitted half-heartedly, “since…well, even though its cold out I still want it.” It was the strange thing about her, even in the cold weather ice cream was a calming thing. Especially chocolate.
