The first floor is full of portraits who would gladly lend an ear if you wish to tell of your woes. Most would be even more glad to talk your ear off about themselves if you're more of a listener... be wary of them, though. The ones at the top are still very dusty and they are NOT happy about it.
OOC: We do have someone who RPs the portraits, actually, so....
Tobias was totally lost. The castle was huge and there were so many staircases and it was hard to remember what floor you were on. The biggest building he'd ever been in was his old school, and that was nowhere NEAR as big as Hogwarts.
But he and Kace had decided to go exploring in the castle, and Tobias thought that seemed like a pretty good idea, because he was nearing the end of his first year and STILL getting lost on the way to classes.
Eventually, the tiny Hufflepuff turned into the corridor he was sure he was supposed to be in. It was a memorable place because the portraits had interested Tobias greatly. Now, however, as he made his way down the corridor, Tobias couldn't help but notice that there weren't a lot of portraits here. Instead, there were blank patches of wall, and it was clear from the way the patches of wall were pretty much immaculately clean in contrast to the rest of the filthy brickwork that Tobias DID have the right place, and that it was the portraits that had been moved. There were still some, but not as many as last time he'd been here.
Before he could take too long to dwell on that fact, Tobias' ever-wandering attention was caught by a family figure down the corridor. He sped his pace to a jog and grinned as he caught up with his friend. "Hi Kace," Tobias greeted. "Hope I didn't keep you waiting too long. I keep getting lost."
Probably didn't help that Tobias was constantly getting distracted even as he walked around the castle.
As Kace was busy drifting off and looking at the portraits, he noticed Tobias. He jumped a little bit and totally forgot he was there. "Oh hey Tobias! Glad you could make it!" he said fist bumping him.
"Oh no worries, i got lost a couple times trying to find this place. I am glad you found the place. My sister said this was the best place to explore. She even said some of the portraits had passwords to get through to other places and some even talk." Kace said with a shrug as it was no biggie. But deep down inside he was excited to do this.
To start conversation, Kace thought to talk about the game yesterday. "I saw the game yesterday by the way and you did amazing in it. I was cheering but you probably didn't seem me being so little and all." he grinned.

At what Kace said, Tobias' bounced on the balls of his feet excitedly. So some of these portraits could lead somewhere. That was super cool, and one of the things he liked about Hogwarts. And the fact that the portraits spoke. That was awesome. And hopefully they would find out other things about the school on today's exploration.
"Oh you did?" Tobias replied in response to the quidditch comment. "I was looking out for everyone, but Ella said it was kind of important to keep my eye on the quaffle." An annoying amount of focus was required but it all turned out a-okay. "Thanks! I think everyone was amazing. I can't wait for the next practice." Flying was super fun.

Kace chuckled when Tobias was on high alert when he mentioned the portraits talking. "I know it is exciting isn't? I could not wait to explore when my sister Belle told me."
Kace nodded and smiled. "Well i am glad you kept your eye on the quaffle. It might have caused a broken nose or something else more drastic if you lost your concentration. I might ask Ella if i could try out different positions." Kace shrugged at the idea he was thinking about it but he didn't know if he would comitt.
Then Tobias mentioned flying and Kace smiled with glee. "I love flying at practice! It makes you feel like a different person when you are up in the air. No one would suspect me to be very agressive when i am on my broom." Kace added a wink in there and a chuckle.
"I know our next game is against Slytherin and i am kind of nervous about it..."

"I wonder if I could stand in one of the hoops?" he added curiously. It seemed like an awesome idea if he could just get a picture of it... but he was getting distracted. He continued walking again.
At what Kace said, Tobias also looked at the portraits. Or what was left of them anyway. "There seems to be a lot less than the last time I came here. Maybe we can go explore the corridors and look for secret passages that take you to other places in the castle? I hear there are loads." Plus he wanted a go on the moving staircase.
Kace chuckled when Tobias was demonstrating. "I do not think i could handle that. I mean i think i am smaller than you for the keeper job." He tried to demonstrate holding out his arms to try and protect the hoops and he fell over. THUMP. Agghhh maybe he shouldn't be keeper. "I guess i don't have keeper skills." he grinned sheepishly.
Then Tobias brought up a good point. Could they stand in one of the hoops. "You bring up a good point there. I wonder if we could stand in the hoops. I might be dangerous though." Kace said but....he didn't care. He liked having the thrill of being a dare devil.

Well that definitely seemed like a resounding YES from Kace. Tobias grinned and matched his fellow 'puff's enthusiasm as he nodded. "Sure, c'mon!" he said as he doubled back and led the way back into the corridor. "We'll start at the first floor and work our way up," Tobias said as he went through the doorway.
