A spider web network of paths links the Courtyard to almost every area of the grounds. The paths are plenty wide enough for you and a friend to take a walk together and enjoy the fresh air. Trees, shrubs, flowers, and benches line the walkways and provide a cozy atmosphere. Enjoy your stroll, take your time, and let go of the stress inside the castle.
Merlin, she shouldn't have said anything. Anything at all. She should've waited a bit and see if maybe she could figure things out on her own, right? That seemed to work for her perfectly well in the past, why not now? Because the person who probably had the answers was the one standing in front of her. And this sort of concerned him too.
It was all about him, after all.
Once he started to speak, Lottie looked up. Yes, she'd missed his reaction to her words, but she was definitely not missing this. Oh? She was confusing? Her head tilted to one side as she kept listening. Never interrupting. At least she was smart not to interrupt him. So, Garrick wasn't entirely fine with this either, and...boundaries? Does anyone remember 'It's not you, it's me'? How stupid a sentence could be, and how accurate at the same time. Like, how she wasn't a big fan of hugs? It really had nothing to do with Garrick, she actually welcomed his, until her heart decided to race away. Without permission. And yeah, we figured the sensitive part, mainly because Lex had hinted about it after he'd left. It really wasn't a bad thing. Except that Lottie tended to be moody sometimes. Sensitive + moody = not a great combination.
HOWEVER, the smallest hint of a smile was on her face. She shouldn't, but she was just as clueless as he was, and that was a refreshing thought. He was just as clueless, but he had all the answers. And, of course, the extra attention she got from his eyes made her blush. She was supposed to say something back, wasn't she? Yes.
The first thing that came to mind was: You said you thought you fancy me. But Lottie decided not to get into technicalities that would help neither. Neither. Because she'd said the same, and she'd already gotten rid of the 'thinking' part. Obviously. Okay, she... didn't know where to start. Her mind was a crazy place where thought and speech couldn't get along. "Garrick...," she said, taking a step toward him, "...chances are that you'll upset me, chances are that you'll cross lines and boundaries that I didn't know I had." Nod, one more step, eyes still on him. "I appreciate the fact that you don't want to upset me, really, but...cross them." And another step. "I've...never dealt with anything like this before...," she kept on talking, "...this...is all new to me," while there's a few people she's been nice from the start and she didn't feel the same way about them as...whatever it was she felt for Garrick, so this was actually a novelty, "I guess I'm not used to hugs," well, he was speaking his mind, she ought to do it too, "Doesn't mean I won't be." TRUE. She definitely wasn't used to holding someone's hand, and that's what she likes more about Garrick.
It was very likely she was giving him permission to cross lines from now on, she was unaware of it but didn't mind.
"Listen," she started again, taking one final step that got her very close to him and his eyes. Eyes she kept on looking as she smiled and forgot what it was she wanted to say. Truthfully, she didn't want to say anything else. She'd addressed everything that needed to be addressed, so she merely leaned closer and pressed her lips to his. Eyes closed. Actions speak louder than words. And this action seemed to make a point about crossing boundaries, doesn't it?
As she spoke he watched her face and furrowed his brows again. Cross her boundaries? Well that didn't sound polite. He nodded anyway, though. He'd at least try not to be weird about it. Heh. And she was moving closer... this was a good thing, right?
His face began to smooth out and a small smile began to appear. And then... BAM!
...
SHE WAS KISSING HIM!? SWEET MOTHER OF MERLIN SHE WAS KISSING HIM! HUZZAH!
Garrick was rather unsure of what to do exactly... he moved closer and wrapped his arms around her waist. That was okay, yeah? YEAH? He smiled against her lips and moved his against hers.

'Kay. She was going back to the castle. With her inanimate gargoyle in her pocket, Kat made her way out. She was going to check if the great hall held better food than before. Maybe porridge AGAIN, which seemed to be their only food for probably the whole term. But maybe some ice cream would be awesome despite the temperature that was starting to drop. Winter was definitely coming and is at the end of the road.
But she stopped at the Pathways. For no reason. Maybe just to sit down cos she felt like teaching Gary a new trick.
Immediately taking a seat in one of the benches, Kat placed her gargoyle beside her and took her wand out. What was the brilliant idea? A back roll? Mhm yeah, that. "Piertotum Locomotor!" she said with a wave. Okay so, show me what ya got Gary. "Back roll." Her gargoyle did the same thing, ducked and then rolled backwards.
Proud Mama moment.
"Finite." Yeah, time for food. She was done.

"And second, my name is Christina and don't call me by any other nicknames." If he dared to call her 'Chris', she's gonna punch his face. Chris sounded like a boy's nickname and he could see that she's a girl, right?
I wouldn't consider myself lucky because I'm stuck at this cheap school. She was about to say Poor you but then Christina remembered that that's also her problem. But at least she didn't complain much like this whiny boy. "But still, you're not injured then." She commented. Christina could imagine this guy was seriously injured because of her. HAHAHA! Well, maybe not bad, just a little bruised. "So, do you regret that you're being here then?" She used to regret when she saw that Hogwarts was far away from the people's story around her. She stood up and cleaned herself.
Ky chuckled amusingly at the girl's adorkable annoyed expression. "There's nothing wrong with being little." said Ky. "I like little kids, actually." So her actually name was Christina? Much better name than Marth or Bertha. "Christina...ahh...finally! See...isn't everything better when you tell me your name? I don't have to guess anymore." Ky grinned. "If I haven't told you already, I'm Ky. Can you remember that? K-Y-Ky." He was ready for another scoff from Christina for talking to her like she's a little kid again. *Smirk*
Ehhh..."I dont' know." Honestly, Ky wasn't so sure about his thoughts for Hogwarts. No doubt about it, Hogwarts is far from the school he expected it to be. But still, there's that..feeling that doesn't make Ky want to regret coming here. "Maybe...maybe not. But I'm here anyways. There's no good regreting. So why not make the best of it." It sounds easy, but it would probably be more difficult to make it happen. Ky looked up at Christina. "You're new to this school too?"

Excuse us while our heart beats a hundred times faster than usual, okay? She had no one to blame but herself this time.
After all that talk about crossing imaginary limits, she'd thought Garrick would back away in the most polite way. So now she wasn't sure if the kiss or her words managed to prove her point, he may have been okay with it before she'd kissed him, but now she'll never know. And didn't even care. Especially not after feeling his arms around her waist. It was a different feeling from that of a hug, she just didn't know what it was.
Instinctively, her arms wrapped themselves around his neck and she smiled after feeling him smile as well. SHEWASKISSINGABOY. And she only regretted pulling away from him. It was only a little, though, since she pecked his lips soon after that and rested her hands on his chest. Her face was still close to his and it held the widest smile possible. As well as a faint blush.
"I think I've made my point about crossing boundaries."BEAM. Yeah, that was the first thing she said. And pecked his lips once more, they were so...kissable, and incredibly soft."I like you, Garrick Morpheus." Though, he probably knew that by now, right? He could at least notice that much.

Sigh. Ravenclaws.
She had her arms around his neck? WIN! He didn't notice her heart beating irregularly considering his own was currently positioned somewhere in his throat. It was... AWESOME.
He too was blushing when she pulled back a little bit. Looking into her eyes he gave her a winning smile and returned both of the little pecks. "Ya think?" He replied to her crossing boundaries comment. And MAN did he like her crossing her boundaries like this?!
"I think we've been over that bit, Lotus Acacia." All that talk about them fancying one another, remember? "But just to put it out there; I really like you, too." And no he was not removing his arms from around her waist just yet. In fact he leaned over and kissed her cheek gently. "A lot," he whispered.
Blue was doing her daily skipping session. It was the only way to stay young, ya' know. Why did people stop skipping? It was fun. Way more amusing then walking. And much more easy-going then flail!running. It was very Peter Pan-ish of her, but she didn't want to grow up if it meant she would have to stop skipping. At least she could skip while she could along the Pathways.
She'd half expected there to be turnstiles blocking them at this rate.
The fourth year came to a stop by a bench and plonked herself down, not paying much attention to the other occupant. She swung her legs and let out a puff of air, bored already. Okay um. She held out a purple wrapper that contained a ton-tongue out to the rather pretty looking boy beside her. "Want one? 'S regular toffee, honest."
Who wouldn't believe this face, eh?
People watching was always SUPER fascinating. Wanna know why? Crazy Hogwarts people were BEAUTIFULLY insane. Whackjobs even. It was just like watching some old slapstick, black and white flicks. Everything was heightened to a ridiculous amount and all of the men gossiped like seventy year old women. Just WATCHING these morons was good entertainment. Heh.
And when he panned his eyes out to check out the corridor, he saw someone else coming by that he could people watch. Oh look it was a- wow. She was really pretty. Like REALLY pretty. What was with these school and having insanely beautiful women everywhere he turned? It was gonna give him a heart condition. Seriously. Pfft. But she was pretty in a different way then most. The kind that didn't take herself too seriously, you know? Yeah.
So he was genuinely surprised when she plopped down beside him and offered him candy. He got to look at a pretty face AND get food out of it? Score. Smirking at her and throwing her a wink, he was generous like that, Ascanius said, "Thanks gorgeous." Pause. "Also, I'm Ascanius." And yeah, that was a REAL name.

Look at that smile! Garrick looked so smug over this, and he should be. Lottie didn't go around holding hands with anyone, much less kissing boys, you know? Not to mention this was definitely a first too. She did wonder if it was his as well, but he'd probably kissed other girls before. Charming, he was.
Then she laughed at his remark and made way for a smirk. The closeness remained, since she wasn't moving away from him anytime soon. "I do make good points, don't I?" she added, still smirking. It was a very valid point, he should agree. He was already agreeing, clearly.
'Lotus Acacia'. There was some inner squealing over that. She really liked it when he used both names, for some inexplicable reason. "I know," but she felt the need to say it again, partly because she hadn't truly said it before. She did say 'I think I fancy you', and that is not the same as stating it once and for all. Lottie quite liked saying it, by the way. I like you. It was distinctive, yeah? Like, out of all the boys he was the one she liked.
Her smile grew even more when he spoke again, along with her blush which got more pink. She didn't move at all, she was just there in his arms, catching her breath and...giggling. Merlin. It was the WHISPERING what caused it, though, not really the words. "Garrick," she started, hands still on his chest, face still close to his, "Can we stay like this...for a little while?" which translated to: I really don't trust my legs with climbing trees at the moment, maybe in a few minutes.
The Ravenclaw girl was ready to find another ingredient already. Seriously. She had decided outside was the best place to go for well, for all of them. So she had run outside first chance she got and now she was struggling to think of where to look. As she walked around she could smell something sweet, and faintly fresh sniffing the air the girl looked around and spotted it.
“Well, hello there” the girl smirked at the plant in front of her and quickly knelt down to grab a few springs of the wild spearmint and peppermint plants. There, that was a good ingredient right. Nice, natural, and didn’t possibly make her lose points.
So the next thing she did of course was bag both of the ingredients before running off like a little crazy girl back to the classroom. Besides her forty five minutes were almost up.

Clement wasn't too sure what kind of ingredients he needed to get. But he first headed out into the grounds. Plant ingredients were pretty simple to do, and he was going to see if he could find any wild plants growing out, before he would probably head down into one of the greenhouses. The slytherin wondered along the pathways, glancing around. He wasn't too good at recognizing plants. It was probably why he had barely passed herbology. But as he wandered along the pathways he was going to at least try his best. Ooh there. A little way off the path, behind a tree, stood a group of nettles. Perfect. He stepped off of the path, grabbing his wand out of her pocket. He wasn't stupid, he knew he'd get stung if he touched the nettle.
Bending over, by the tree, and using his wand, sliced a couple of the leaves from the nettle. Perfect. That would do. Levitating them up, he placed them into a bag he had brought down with him. He couldn't really remember the potion that made, but he was pretty sure they were a good ingredient. Now just to find three more.

Minerva had been taking a walk after her classes. It was a nice day and she wanted to enjoy as many as she could. Soon winter would be coming and she wouldn't want to be outside the castle much longer. As she walked she was thinking of her homework and thinking about one subject specific. Her gargoyle.. She wasn't sure what else she could have the little thing do, that would be fun and entertaining.
Stopping she decided to pull him out. Setting him down on the ground, Min sat down next to him. "What can I have you do?" She tried to figure out something, she had him juggle, cartwheel, dance, walk, back flip, even take a quill to Susan, but there had to be something fun and enjoyable to have him do.
Pulling out her wand she waved it over him, "Piertotum Locomotor" The gargoyle looked up at her, the same grumpy look on his face. "Grumpy skip down the path."She could have sworn he sighed, but he turned and began skipping, well kind of skipping down the path. It looked more like fumbling clumsily and then down he went, tripping over his own two feet. Getting up she walked towards him, "Finite" Min made sure he wasn't hurt at all and then put him back in his box for safe keeping.

As Nerida slowly walked down the pathways looking for a pink mushroom with black bristles...Come on where was it, didn't mushrooms grow everywhere? She continued to look seeing every mushroom except the one she wanted...
Just as Nerida was about to give up her search in the Pathways and go look somewhere else her eyes fell on it, she carefully plucked it out and placed it into its container. Now what else she had two ingredients, maybe the garden or the greenhouses would have some cool ingredients..
After making sure her two ingredients were secure Nerida raced off to the garden.
Annabeth took her Potions book and the Magical Creature's Book and went towards outside the school. She walked through the pathway, climbed a tree. Then she opened the book and thumbed past the introductory pages:
"I'm messed up! There's a lot of potions here with the most weird ingredients one could imagine! Let me see. Um: to do this Swelling Solution uses dried nettles! I know how are nettles! I just want to find some... " She talk to herself and flicked through the Potions book again: "Lavender it's used to prepare Sleeping Draught!" She slipped down the tree aand fell over a nettle! "Ouch! It hurts!" She wore a glove she had in the back pocket of her pants, grabbed the nettle and jammed some leaves in her pocket. Then she looked straight ahead: there was no sign of lavender there. She thought it'd be better to look for something at another place and went towards the magical creatures sanctuary.
After looking around to see if she would be disturbing anyone, Haruka placed her gargoyle down and stepped away from in. "Piertotum Locomotor!" She exclaimed, her wand pointed at the statue. "Okay," she started as Rose woke. "Time to learn a new trick." She thought for a few seconds. "How about we try a cartwheel?"
After Haruka explained how to do a cartwheel, Rose attempted to do it. It took a few tries for Rose to get it, most of the tries consisting of Rose getting to a handstand and then falling over. Eventually Rose was successful. "Great job!" Haruka clapped. "I think that's enough for now. Finite!"
It had been Ezra's intention to get whatever plant he could get for potions once he was on his way back to the castle. But he was twelve and he was impatient, so no sooner had he set a foot near the trees-convoluted area of the pathways that the boy had carefully set his bag on a bench and climbed up a tree.
He wasn't even allowed to climb trees. Last time he'd climbed a tree he'd fractured his leg and gran since then had strictly forbidden him to do it ever again. But gran wasn't really around to watch, and to be fair, this time he hadn't fractured anything, so Ezra thought he was fine. The scrapped heel of his hand hardly counted because, really, it was more like a scratch - he'd checked! And it'd been his fault anyway for not holding on tightly, and letting a brown cat startle him enough to nearly land on his backside.
Ezra had not landed on his backside, though, which was the important part. He had said bloody cat under his breath, though, and then bloody cat again (though this time in wonder) when he realized it left several brown hairs on a branch. Ezra had maneuvered its way towards it, until he was more or less straddling it. Reaching into his pocket, the boy unfolded his handkerchief; biting his lower lip and frowning, Ezra collected the brown cat hairs, placing them on the handkerchief. Then he folded it, again, stored it in his pocket, and began to climb down.
Look at that smile! Garrick looked so smug over this, and he should be. Lottie didn't go around holding hands with anyone, much less kissing boys, you know? This was a first for Garrick Morpheus Ogden, too. He had NEVER kissed a girl properly before. Sure he had kissed a few cheeks and had a few cheek kisses in return, but Lotus Acacia Wisteria was his FIRST REAL KISS. And this made him all but giddy inside.
"The best points, I would say." Reaching up he pushed a strand of hair from her face and beamed somewhat triumphantly. THIS was a moment he would always remember. Definitely.
And was she REALLY asking if they could stay like that for a while? UH. YES! Smiling wider still (if that was even possible) Garrick nodded and pulled her closer for one more quick kiss before putting a liiiiiittle distance between them again. "All day if you'd like." For reaaaaal.

He had a little over half an hour left. And he wasn't panicking just yet. Nope!
But the Hufflepuff was rushing around as quickly as he could in the hopes of finding the other ingredients he was meant to be looking for. And he was starting to be a little bit more self conscious of the time itself; so much so that his eyes kept glancing at his watch every couple of minutes. When his grey-blue eyes weren't doing this, they were also peering at every plant he bypassed, trying to figure out whether they were useful for potions. If only grass was an acceptable ingredient. He'd have had two done by now.
But... something did catch his eyes eventually. Something that was yellow in colour and was near a bush off to the side of the pathways AND something that made him stop sharply in his tracks. Yellow... was very close to gold, actually...
Alec walked over towards the plant and bent down, grinning slightly to himself. He was really really sure that these were necessary in potions. Didn't you have to cut up its roots to use it in... something? And you probably have to be very precise in cutting up its roots, too. It was very Potions-y, actually. Being precise and accurate.
The nettle was placed to the side before the boy resumed his usual plant grabbing position with a hand on the stem of the plant and the other hand on the soil. Or, in this case, the ground of the pathway too. No grunt escaped from him this time and the daisy came off nearly easily. Nearly.
Grinning to himself, he picked up the nettle and, holding onto both plants, moved out of there as swiftly as possible.
The seventh year made her way along on of the pathways, thinking of heading to the barn, or the stable. Anyway- a place with animals, where she was sure to find some ingredients. It had actually taken her less time to go to the greenhouses than she had estimated. So that was good. She still had plenty of time left.
Though, she didn’t get to take another step…
… when something caught her eye.
Gwendolyn looked at the plants on the side of the pathway. Nettles. She could use those. Next, the Ravenclaw used her wand in order to get some of the nettles, levitating them to the phial.

BEST points. Of course. He made very good points as well. Her entire face lit up thanks to that smile of his. That winning smile. This was almost unbelievable, though, how he'd been frowning moments ago, and now was all smiles. The biggest ones to date. GRANTED, she hadn't known Garrick for long, which made this all crazy, didn't it?
It didn't truly matter.
"This is not my usual way of making points." Juuuust in case. Plus, there weren't many points to make that somehow involved a similar situation. There simply was no similar situation.
But let's forget about the whole points thing, yeah. It hardly mattered anymore. It never actually did.
ANDSHEGOTAKISS. Which she returned and kept on smiling. It was so addicting, really. And forever tempting to stay like this all day. She knew they wouldn't, but still. Lottie nodded slightly and pecked his lips again. They'd stay like this for a little while, then.

This atmosphere was actually nice. Thought you'd never find a good place to be at Hogwarts? Well, given the cutters one would, think again now. Because the place looked really...warm and cozy.
Amara walked down the path, one step at a time, taking in the pleasant surroundings. School was fairly good. With the classes occupying most of the time, she really didn't have time to relax or catch up with her twin. Reminds me, where the devil is she anyway? She hadn't seen Zyanya for several days now and that was beginning to worry her. What if her twin had disappeared? Taken? Killed?

Lex was in a wonderful mood, you know the kind of good mood where you're happy and bouncy and you knock into things and people because on such a nice day you refuse to be responsible and watch where you're going??? Yeah. One of those! GRIN.
Though in all fairness, she'd been doing well so far. People were staying out of her way so she wasn't exactly running into anyone--
Oof!
Spoke too soon. Ow...What did she hit into anyway...? Finally paying attention to her surrounding she saw it was that First Year who just hated being a lion. Giggle. "Ohai Amara! It's quite nice running into you here--well not really the running into you part seeing as I imagine it would hurt some but you get the idea. Are you alright by the way??"
Nothing broken? Fractured??? Magically severed by some extremely odd and off chance that really wasn't possible in the first place...what was she talking about again...? Oh right! Amara.

And there was some noise. Waga waga running into..waga waga imagine... waga waga alright... Who was that? She turned around to see the cause of her fall.
The girl was there, talking so fassst that she just couldn't understand anything. "WHOA WHOA...slow down!" she said, dusting her hands. This was the second time in a week that'd she'd been ran into, and fallen. Generally the person who did it doesn't. How fair.
"You know, I didn't get anything you said..." she said, as she got up, dusting her robes. "And well...I'm a very good thing to knock into" Little lopsided grin there.
AR Term Assignment Step 1. (Select a wood & locate a suitable living tree.) post 1
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Find a tree to work make his gandr stick with? Oakey walked down the pathway looking back and forth between each of the tree lined along it. How was he supposed to pick one? just go up to one and start dancing, singing, and thanking it, or was there more to this tree selection than Botros was letting on for the assignment. Stepping off to the side of the pathway Oakey removed his wand and turned it around in his hand. Maybe if he found an Alder tree, would his gandr then have a more powerful effect on the runes?
The problem was, Oakey had no clue what an Alder tree looked like. He had not thought about tree's other than that his name was practically one itself. Hmm Maybe an Oak tree would work then. There's got to be plenty of those around yeah?
No, that'd be a dull and boring reason to pick a tree 'It has the same name as me!' Not a chance. He needed a Tree! What tree, would do a brilliant job as a gandr?
...
...
...
What if the tree itself had magical properties to it? This was going to be the craziest thing Oakey will ever attempt to do...probably for a really long time, he hoped so at least. Keeping his wand in hand Oakey headed out in the direction of the Whomping Willow.
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
SPOILER!!: Amara

Would you look at that. The girl didn't get anything she said. Eh, it was just as well. Her question was answered the moment the girl dusted her hands off and got up. Lex interpreted this as her not having broken anything on the fall.
Oooo and she was being such a good sport about being knocked into as well. "I'll say you are. Fell like a champion too!" BEAM.
Champions fell, they fell all the time. How else would they grab at their opponents ankle, drag them down then hurry off to finish the race first? Exactly. That's what she thought. So yes Amara, brilliant fall. She didn't want to couldn't have done it better herself!
"And how have you been settling?" You know...with the lion thing? "Are you finding your classes and homework alright?" Fair question. Back in Lex's first year she would just stare at the homework forever before she'd just start rambling in her essays and half finishing anything else.
The way she saw it. They were lucky she handing in anything at all.
Yup.

Yup.
"A champion? Really?" she asked, a bit excited. "That's sounds so...cool" she added, with a grin. Everyone would love to be a champion wouldn't they? Ofcourse, they had to win some of the things too. Dang, how bad. "I should probably get used to it..." Yeah, falling down, being pushed.. was her thing. "Claws find me very interesting" Wink.
Settling in? "OH YEAH...It's been AWESOME" she said, a brilliant smile on her face. She did like the Lions, yes she did. Only she had always wanted to be a snake. Childhood whims don't go too soon, you see? It's nothing very personal, but...JUST SKIP THAT PART OUT. "Apart from the cleaning my bed that is..." she added. Yeah, cleaning wasn't exactly her thing. "Is Hogwarts always been like this?" she asked. From what her parents had told her, it sure hadn't been what she'd imagined it to be.
"I just finished my Herbology homework" That one with a bit of trouble and loads of hardwork. She liked it nevertheless, and that gargoyle from transfiguration too. It was darn cool wasn't it? "Hey..." she trailed. They had this potions assignment and she had been meaning to ask someone for help. She'd always only assisted her dad with little things and never made a potion before. How did they expect a first year to brew one anyway? "..the potions homework...we could do it in pairs, right?" Lex could help her, no one better than her. She was cheery and loud and Amara like cheery and loud.

Clement had a little bit of a smirk on his face as he wandered down the pathways. He was careful not to wander too far, or Kat might not be able to find him, which wouldn't have been too good. He was smirking, because he'd looked at the qudditch Roster, before he had come down here. He had made it, and he was feeling pretty awesome right now. Kat had also made it, which was also making him feel good. He'd get to spend more time with her, which was pretty awesome. He didn't know if she knew yet, but he would certainly be telling her when he saw her.
There was a reason why he'd asked her to come down here though. He needed to tell her stuff. Since their kiss last term, and nothing coming off it, he had tried to forget her, or more so forget his feelings for her. But it was kind of hard to forget about someone he saw every day. So he'd decided, that she needed to know. And hopefully...she wouldn't reject him. Because that would just be tragic.
