It was getting to be much colder around the castle, Lex didn't mind, this allowed for hot chocolate and she wouldn't let the cold keep her away from the ice-cream either so she could have chocolate in all forms. This paved the way for a VERY HAPPY Gryffindor! Lex skipped over to greenhouse seven and noticed the warmth instantly. It was an interesting contrast to the outside. Know what else she noticed? She was the first one there. GRIN. Definitely meant she couldn't have been late this time. Looking around she spotted her Head of House seated and waiting, most likely. "Hello Professor!!!" BEAM. She hoped she didn't mind but she took a stool at the far end somewhere next to her. "And hello Professor's baby!" She said, grinning at the inflated stomach. Personally she couldn't stand babies but they were adorable once they weren't related to her. "How have you two been?" Lex asked now smiling up at the Professor again. Class hadn't started yet so technically this talking stuff was allowed. Oh hey, maybe it was three??? Could've been twins, you never know. |
Garrick smiled slightly to himself as he made his way into the greenhouses for the second lesson of the term. Chyeah. He was a fan of herbology. It gave him an excuse to get dirty after all. BEAM. Immediately taking his coat off as he came in he smiled brightly at Professor Bentley. "Good day, Professor." And with a quick glance at her belly he made his way to a seat and pulled his gloves off next. Mhm. He was digging this tropical weather vibe. Yeaaaah buddy. |
Herbology. GRIN. Ella was really coming to like this class. It was hard work, sure, but the blonde always had loads to tell her Gran in letters about all the stuff she'd learned in class. Gran was definitely a plant person. Definitely. The blonde made note of the warmth first and a broad smile played on her lips immediately. She loved the snow and cold well enough but preferred to work somewhere warm. "Hello Professor Bentley!" She greeted cheerfully, taking in the belly but not letting her eyes linger there for more than a second. It wasn't nice to stare, y'know. Next she gave a small smile to Lex and the other dude she didn't know and settled down in her seat, eyes on the pots. |
Eliza headed into the greenhouse with her bag over her shoulder and her thick robes wrapped tightly around her. Chilly weather was definitely there and she was not about to be caught outdoors without her wool socks. She hated being too cold. Things that you were prepared for like making snowmen or walking to Hogsmeade were fine, because then you usually bundled up so that you were intentionally not too cold. But being colder than you could help avoiding? No thanks. Lucky for her though, the greenhouse was nice and balmy. "Hello Professor Bentley!" It was only when she'd gotten closer that she noticed the woman's stomach. Has she been pregnant this whole time? Like, all year? She tried not to stare, but couldn't help from looking again. Well obviously she would have had to have been pregnant all year to be this big by now. How didn't I notice before? Unless.... She crossed the room to grab a spot at a workspace near Lex, still thinking. Unless she's not pregnant? Did a plant sting her in the belly or something? She'd wait for more evidence in either direction before making any more assumptions. |
Minerva made her way to the greenhouse, it was so cold, but when she walked through the doors she couldn't believe how warm it was in there. The next thing she noticed was Bentley and she smiled, "Hello professor, how have you been feeling?" She didn't know much about babies and pregnancies, but she had remembered someone saying once that they sometimes didn't feel well. So she figured it might be something to ask. Finding her place at a work station and saying hello to Ella and Alexa, Minerva looked at the pots, oh there were cute yellow ones...nice.. Then she looked at the board. Oh selling preparation like the eggs. Oh wait did they talk about this the first lesson, Minerva was thinking they did, but at the same time wasn't completely sure. |
Ethan tightened his cloak around him as he headed out towards the greenhouses in anticipation of Herbology class. It wasn't surprising at all to the Prefect that it was cold, being December and all, but he was rather thankful for the warmth that welcomed him as he stepped inside for class. "Good day, Professor," he greeted her cheerfully as he approached, his eyes lingering just for a moment on her swollen belly. Oh.. was she expecting? Apparently he had missed that piece of information. He gave her a warm smile and turned towards his normal workstation. He gave a little wave to Eliza as he spotted her, then headed over to sit by Minerva. "Hello," he gave he a bright smile before turning his eyes on the colorful pots, then up at the board. Selling plants..? |
"Woah, it's warm in here,'' Jory said when he got to the Greenhouse. He was half relieved and half not. He liked the cold, you see, but he didn't wan to spend an entire lesson in the cold. "Oh, hello there, Professor,'' he said as he saw Professor Bentley perched awkwardly on her seat. "And hi there, Professor Bentley's kid.'' He used to talk to him mother's belly when she was expecting his sister. As he went for a workstation, he took notice of the coloured pots. As the Puffer sat, he noticed the writing on the board. Oh selling. Like their Ashwinder eggs? |
Whyyyy was it so cold? Because it was winter, DUH! Daichi shivered when he opened the greenhouse door and stepped inside. He noticed that he wasn't the first despite having walked a little earlier to class in order to get on time but that didn't matter. What mattered was that it was warmer in here and the Slytherin unwrapped his green/silver scarf from his neck and folded it in his school bag. "Hello Professor~" woah...what on earth had she been eating? O___o Wait...female, big stomach...GAAASP why hadn't he seen it before that she was Pregnant?! "ehm...Congrats?" he asked because he wasn't sure anymore if she WAS pregnant or just ate too much... heh. |
BRRR. Did anyone else feel that? Yes, it was the Christmasy-chill-in-the-air feel. That was the short name for it. Bliss wrapped her coat tight and snug around herself, before making her way up to the Greenhouses, where it would hopefully be warm. Even if it wasn't, well, she had her coat and this lesson was going to be FUN, right? The fourth year edged her way into the Greenhouse and beamed. WAMRTH. C'mere warm air. She sighed happily and then snapped back to semi-normality. There were other people in here, this was public. Be normal, Bliss, the voice inside her told her. AHEM. Wow, it was so warm that ... yeah, time to take her coat over. Much better. Before a queue formed behind her, Bliss headed towards a seat, but not before greeting Professor Bentley. "Hello, Professor. I hope you're keeping well," she said and flashed a beam at her and glanced down at the woman's tummy which was increasing in size. Awww, ickle baby. Anyway, she wasted no more time and headed to a workstation. Ready, set .. |
Shiver. It was so cold.. Not too cold actually, just too chilly. The same anyways! With her books and rolls of parchment in her hand and other stuffs in the bag slung over her shoulder, Ira made her way to the greenhouse, pulling her robe tighter. And entering the greenhouse, she felt warm instantly. Smiling a little, she greeted Professor Bentley, "Hello Professor Bentley!" she said cheerfully, and added, "Hope you're doing great." Well, it did seem like Bentley was managing the whole.. thing, so nicely. Which was awesome. But wasn't the baby bump growing big too fast? Or was it just her mind? It hadn't been this big last month. Duh.. it was last month. Obviously it would have grown bigger. Shaking her head at herself, she smiled at Professor and went ahead. And, then she looked around for a place, and noticed the others. How had the others come in so early? Seemed like she wasn't the only one who had taken the trouble to be on time. Oh.. why couldn't she be the first to enter? Going to a workstation, she set up her things, and then waited for the class to start. Herbology Plant Sale Preparation? Um.. okay.. |
"Professor Bentley," Mo nodded politely at the professor as he entered the room, although he soon did a complete turn around the work station and came back to eye the professor for real this time. She had gotten very fat. "Congratulations, Professor. I hope it's a boy, for your sake. Girls are impossible creatures." And then he headed back to find a seat. |
Mack shivered as she entered the classroom, the cold had finally set in and she was not a fan, but that feeling went away as soon as she stepped inside of the greenhouse. ahh warmth the welcomed feeling brought a smile to her face. Upon entering she found Professor Bentley on a stool, woah she was showing! Professor Bentley was probably one of her favorite's, not to mention she was the Gryffindor Head of House. "hello Professor" the blonde grinned "Have you found out what you are having yet?" She wouldn't lie, Mack loved babies, and the thought of possibly having one around the castle made her smile beam even more so. "oh hello there future Gryffindor, you're going to be the cutest thing aren't you?" thinking to herself she made her way to where the Gryffindor coloured pots were no sense in pretending she didn't know where to go. It was obvious. Once she read the blackboard the reason for the pots became clear. sigh more things for the financial troubles of Hogwarts. She really did want to help, but how to approach the headmistress without her blowing up at her. hmmm |
Mika peaked her head around the corner as she stepped into the greenhouse before she entered. And it was a good thing she did because the heat, it was almost over powering...and she needed a moment so she wouldn't look like french poodle with her hair. She did blink a few times and smile when she saw Professor Bentley. Even though she looked a tad uncomfortable. "Hello Professor Bentley" she smiled over to her - and even waved. She did however, get into the greenhouse in time to hear Mo saying something about girls being impossible. Maybe not. Selling things as a house didn't really seem fun...besides, she might have been a little ticked at someones genius idea of making selling those eggs from care of magical creatures a game and making bank. Like serious bank. |
SPOILER!!: Responses! After another quick inspection of her pendant watch, Seren managed - rather awkwardly to hop off her stool. It would be much easier to stand for the duration of the lesson, stools were not pregnancy friendly. "Right! Good day everyone!" she announced, clapping her hands together once out of enthusiasm. "Today we will be completing out preparations for the Hogsmeade Plant Sale..." because one way, or another, they were going to have to get money from somewhere, and this activity tied in so well with the curriculum. "Now today we will be planting a variety of seeds and bulbs... and because we will be cultivating them in here," she gestured to their surroundings, "the atmosphere will support germination and will allow us to grow these plants out of season." Along with the aid of some Mooncalf Solution of course. "The first plant we're going to work with... are the Umbrella Flowers from last lesson," she started, casting a quick glance to the tray of seeds balancing on the empty raised flowerbed behind her. "So first thing's first... safety!" she announced. "Everybody gloves out and put them on please... goggles too if you have them." Not that the goggles were entirely necessary. Personally she thought they were more of a distraction than anything else. OOC: The lesson will continue in approx 7-8 hours. (: |
Hogsmeade plant sale, eh? Ella smiled a little and thought back to her Ashwinder eggs and how well she'd sold those. It was all about knowing your product. Smiling didn't hurt either, of course... And safety first as always. Ella nodded after hearing the instructions and pulled on her gloves, opting not to use the goggles. Honestly, they hurt her head and gave her extremely unpleasant goggle face when she was done using them. Instead she looked up at Professor Bentley and waited. She was ready to work. |
Hugging herself through the chilly breeze, Beezus bounded over to Greenhouse seven where Professor Bentley was holding their second Herbology lesson of the term. The brunette stopped by the entrance to exhale her shivers and then she took a step inside. "Oh." Er, sudden weather change, anyone? Yep. The breeze got left outside for inside the greenhouse was warmth. The kind that reminded her of beaches. Mhmm. The kind that made her remove her robes as she glanced around the place. Colored pots in the center table.....and the lovely Professor who looked....bigger than the last time they saw each other. They rather grow pretty quick, don't they? "Good day, Professor. " And hullo baby Bentley! Beezus looked over the woman's shoulder and read the whole Herbology Plant Sale Preparation thing. Well, alright. They'll be doing that today. Okay then. Offering the Professor another smile, she proceeded to take a seat. ....and then they were starting. Looks like they'll be having more Hogsmeade trips. Since they'll be selling stuff to compensate for the school's financial cutback again. Umbrella Flowers. Mmk. As the Professor's instructions, the brunette fished her gloves and placed them on securely. Her equipment looked kinda worn out. She'd need to buy another one. Maybe when they go to this Hogsmeade trip. Certainly she can purchase one at Dogweed and Deathcap. And then, goggles. All set. |
Gloves out. And on, of course. Also, no comment on Professor Bentley's rather obvious pregnancy. Because she had learned from both her aunt and her mom that that could end badly: with ringing ears. So, Sky just sat there, wearing her gloves and waiting for instructions. |

And, they were about to get started! Jory reached into his bag and pulled out his gloves and goggles. He slipped on the goggles first followed by his dragon hide gloves. He was ready to get started with the planting. |
West put his gloves on and watched the professor in surprise. More selling stuff in Hogsmeade? Would they get to keep the profits of this sale too? He'd done GOOD in Hogsmeade for Care of Magical Creatures, still had a nice lining in his pockets plus the actual eggs. So he was definitely interested to know if he'd get to keep the profits from Umbrella plant related sales too. He didn't have goggles of his own, so West just stuck with his gloves. Okay. Ready. |

Understandable, as the school wasn't exactly in profit at the moment. Bliss wondered absently which plants or flowers they'd be growing this time. Although Herbology wasn't her best OR favourite lesson, she enjoy seeing results of all their efforts. It made it all worth while, in her eyes. Not only that, but this time their efforts would be aiding the school, right? Even more worth it. Ahhh, the Umbrella Flowers. Good, good. Bliss followed the Professor's gaze and saw the tray of seeds, but was quickly brought back to attention as they were all order to put of goggles and gloves. Surely she could live without goggles, after all, they had been given the option NOT to wear them. SHRUG. Bliss left them off and then slipped her gloves on, all smiley and ready to learn. |
What was with Hogsmeade and sales? First eggs, now plants? It probably had something to do with school funds being low, but it wasn't really helping anything if they kept the profits themselves. Not that Alice minded, though, because pocket money and all. It was good for loads of things. But still. She tugged on her gloves and glanced over at the Umbrella Flower seeds, painful memories of how much effort it took to comb those out in the first place coming to mind. She wasn't doing that again. Just so Bentley knew. Nope. |
Dora had glasses, so she wasn't going to put on any goggles. They were too tight on her face anyway, and distracted from thoughts like was EVERY professor going to put them on the streets to sell things? Sigh. She was sorta tired with this charade, but maybe she could keep this plant too, since she most likely wasn't going to be wasting time selling this. She got out her gloves, and put them on. And leaned against the table, waiting for more instructions. |
Garrick furrowed his brow ever so slightly, but let his thoughts on selling things in Hogsmeade go unsaid and quickly go out of his mind. Yep. Smiles back on, yo. Digging through his bag he extracted his gloves and slipped them on before resting his hands on the top of the workstation. Mhm. He was definitely ready to go. |
Kat actually was sort of happy for Professor Bentley and her baby. N'aw, maybe she could bring him or her to one of the Herbology classes soon, like what Professor Lafay did with her baby girl. Ariadne, right? Yes. A pretty name AND it reminded Kat of Greek Mythology stuff, kinda. But you know the whole baby thing wasn't the reason why Kat was here in Herbology by the way. Right. Gloves... googles. She got those, yep. Kat took them out of her bag and slipped them on. First, her gloves and then she wore the googles. Well... they were like Quidditch googles. Hmm. Although those were better. These googles she was wearing right now were so tight. Gah. Mini!Struggle. Once she finished that one, Kat sat there and waited for more instructions. So... she kind of hoped this activity would be worth the tightness of her pair of googles. |
