Greenhouse One is prepped for the last herbology lesson of the term, and the sight does not disappoint. As soon as you enter the greenhouse, you're confronted with two even rows of handsome saplings with evergreen buds. What's more, is that they're floating in midair, roots exposed in patches where clumps of dirt have fallen away.
Professor Bentley is slumped against a work station, her swollen belly looking as if it were about to burst.
OOC: The lesson has begun! Do not post your late arrival!. If you haven't done so already then please read through the Herbology Rules and Expectations and the SS Site Rules. All SS Board Rules apply. IC rule breaking will result in IC punishment, OOC rule breaking will result in OOC punishment.

With that one nicely taken care of she moved back to the other sapling she had quickly jumped to after hacking away at the first. It wasn't so hard tending them both, she just had to manage her time well because they only had like ten minutes left (less by now) and she still needed to get her area cleaned up.
Hmmmm...
This one would need more spraying than the last...well more than what the last was originally meant to get. No worries, she wasn't about to go squirting the whole bottle on this one.
Lex got busy squirting at this one too, this time managing to get an even coating all over the roots. Much better than the last one!--In her defense the last one needed all that. Who knew how long it would take for all the roots and stuff to grow back? She was merely speeding up the process. Yup. That was her story and she was sticking to it.
Now then, about getting this placed cleaned up.

[/B]Aaaawww, now that really was too sweet. "Shhh shhh shhh, it's alright," she cooed. Really, it wasn't anything to cry over. Seren smiled softly, and pat Annabeth on the shoulder. Poor dear.
But, there was still work to be done.
Summoning her wagon from the corner, she directed it out into the open, inside where a number of spray bottles with a light brown liquid in them. "Our last step, is to administer some nutrients to the sapling... so remember, we don't want to smother it with layers of soil or fertiliser..." because that's what they were trying to avoid, "... so mooncalf solution in a spray bottle is the most effective and efficient means." They did remember how to make mooncalf solution did they not? Either way, they could always brush up on that for revision in their own time.
"So come and grab a bottle and get spraying! Remember, you don't want to waste the resource, but if you over apply... it will dry and it won't cause any harm." It was fail-proof. Really.
Checking the time on her watch, she added, "You have ten minutes to complete this activity and clean up your area... once yo have done so, you may be dismissed" i.e. the soil on the floor that had fallen from the roots, and the bits of roots... very compost worthy.
The teacher assured her that the tree was well and when she patted her shoulder. The girl felt that everything was right and the teacher wouldn't pass out or something. Relieved, Annabeth rubbed her swollen eyes and tried to concentrate on what the teacher was telling them to do.
Then they should catch a spray bottle with that mooncalf solution - whatever it means - and get spray over the saplings. It seemed to be easy and quite inoffensive at first glance.
She hurried to grab one of the bottles.

She attempted the spell a few more times, still aiming for a better spray. "Aguamentispritz. Aguamentispritz." The water fanned out a bit more, but still not as far as she wanted
Whatever. She'd still have plenty of time to practice in the gardens sometime.
Alice grinned over at Cat again, then turned her attention back to Bentley. More spraying?
Cat shifted her wand into her other hand before meeting Alice in a fistbump of winnderdom. Then she went back to water spraying, "We can team up, you make the spells, and I'll name them something ridiculous and hard to pronounce and then we can laugh at people when they attempt to say it." Seemed like a pretty good idea to Caterina.
She was beginning to think that the roots were pretty sufficiently covered when Professor Bentley and her huge stomach started talking. Mooncalf solution. Alright. She stopped spraying and headed over to collect two bottles. "One for Alices." She spoke as she handed one over, "One for Cats." That was her, yep.
"You know, that Aguamentispritz is really going to come in handy." For spraying people with water. Bwahahaaaa.

Seeing as she was already standing by this sapling she figured she'd begin her cleaning here before moving back to the other one. Not surprizingly, there weren't as many things that needed cleaning over here. Just a few fallen dead roots. There was dirt too but not dirt she'd scrapped to the floor. All her dirt was back over there with the plant she'd never seen before in her life.
Ah well, she was over here so she might as well.
This wouldn't really count as like compost right? No? Okay!!! "Evanesco!" Just permanently getting rid of it. Not like the Professor would have needed them. Just dirt and dead things. "Evanesco!"
Lex took another look around to make sure she hadn't missed anything. Had to be thorough! She couldn't leave any mess behind. Any of her mess anyway. Everyone else would have to clean their own messes, obviously. She was no house elf and she wouldn't pretend to be.
Besides, she had a whole nother area to clean.

After receiving the instructions for their last two tasks, Asher headed over and retrieved his spray bottle. He arrived back at his tree and began spraying the roots with the fertilizer spray. "Spray, spray, spray spray" he said in a sing song way.
Asher enjoyed working on the trees and this part was fun. Not as fun as spraying water around, but still fun. He continued for several more minutes before needing to get a refill in his spray bottle.

Alexa walked back to her first sapling. THIS area needed cleaning and she had to get on it right away. "Evenesco!" The spell was very much necessary this time. Had to get rid of any extra evidence. All the roots on the floor, they looked ...er...incriminating. Couldn't leave 'em there, nope.
With the roots gone she was better able to focus on all the clumps of dirt that had fallen to the floor. There was more wand waving and vanishing of things that weren't needed until finally she could beam proudly at her area that she'd been working in. It looked neat, you had to admit. Kinda like she was never working there in the first place.
THAT was how you got thorough with cleaning and the like.
Was that it then? She could leave once she was done? Yeeeaaah, she'd go before the Professor realized she'd never bothered putting the roots in the compost bin.
"Take care Professor, have a good rest of the day." She shoved her gloves into her pocket, grabbed her bag and exited the Greenhouse.

Well at least she didn't get him that wet and he wasn't upset that she did it at all. Still chuckling a bit she shook her head. "I have never had such an unsteady hand with my wand." Oh.. ummm she didn't know why, but she didn't remember a certain charms class that she might have faked being super unfocused, but well yeah maybe her hand was unsteady in that class. Anyway, back to the lesson, right.
She stepped back up to the roots and took a deep breath. It was time to get this done, she was going to do it. Aguamentispritz." The water spritzed out again and she pointed to the roots making sure to get where she needed and not Ethan. Moving along she sprtized around the roots, still making sure to keep a distance, but feeling more relaxed then when she first started. Stopping the water she stepped back away from the tree. Was there anything else or did she get through this lesson without having a panic attack.
Still chuckling over the water mishap, Ethan shrugged at her words. "Not a big deal, Min.. just keep your eyes where you want the water to go and give it another try." He really hoped he didn't sound too patronizing.. he knew she knew how to do this.. but he also knew where her mind was going so he was trying to help her regain her focus. He moved a bit further away, just in case, yet remaining close enough to give her his support. Then he watched, smiling a little, as she managed to perform the spell and water the roots. "Great.." he said, walking around the tree, his eyes trained on the roots. "I think that's probably enough water." Didn't want to drown the tender thing..
His eyes moved back to Bentley as she gave them more instructions. A light touch of fertilizer, then it sounded like they would be done. Totally doable and he turned to Minerva with a smile. "One more step.. you've been doing great so far, I know you can finish this.." He glanced over to the wagon now in the center of the room that contained many spray bottles. Oh.. already mixed up for them? That was convenient.
"I'll get us a couple bottles." He took a few steps towards the center of the room and grabbed two before turning back and handing one to Min. "This is fairly simple.. similar to how we watered.. just use a light touch." Only this time, they wouldn't be using their wands, but the coverage was about the same.. light. He sprayed a few of the roots with his solution, then nodded towards Min to do the same to the roots directly in front of her.

Last part of the activity? Ella smiled at the tree and hoped it was feeling much better. "Nearly done, okay?" She said soothingly, running her hand along the root.
The sixteen year old then went to grab a spray bottle full of the Mooncalf solution, humming to herself as she did. It felt good, helping nurse the plant back to health. It was nice to be helping out.
When she returned to her spot, she tilted her head and began to spray the area. She was happy to know she couldn't possibly mess this up, making the work much more fun to do. Definitely took the worry away.

Where was Ethan going??? To get bottles? Bottles of what? She heard Bentley say about the fertilizing, but missed the part of the spray bottles apparently because her heart started racing when she couldn't figure out where he was headed. He wasn't going to another tree or something was he? No he wouldn't just leave her standing there with this.... plant, tree, what was it again?
Turning fully towards the middle of the room she sighed with relief as she saw him coming back with the spray bottles. She didn't want to look to freaked, because she probably had missed hearing something so she gave a weak smile and tried to calm herself again. Taking the spray bottle from him she listened to his directions, "You know maybe when you get bored with just the plants, teaching could be in your future. I think you'd be good at it."
Listening and seeing where he wanted her to spray she took a deep breath and shuffled her feet a little closer reaching out towards the roots and spraying them. Was that enough or did it need more?
Armed with a full bottle of fertilizer, Asher was ready to take on the trees again. "Spray, spray, spray, spray." He continued in the same sing song way as he had the first bottles worth.
He wondered if he would know if he was putting too much on the roots. Oh, well. Since the extra seemed to be dripping off, he couldn't be doing much damage if it was too much.
Seeing that his new bottle was nearly empty, Asher searched the roots to make sure every bit was covered before the bottle ran out. "Just a few more sprays" he said.

Spray. Spray. Spray.
Ella couldn't help but wonder how long the trees would take to fully recover, if they could even do that. Sometimes when people got sick, they were never quite the same afterwards in some ways. Were plants like that too? It was definitely something to think about.
The blonde continued to spray the mooncalf solution, making sure to get the entire area she was working on with a good spraying of the stuff. Fertilizer was an important part of plant care, after all.
"There... You look better already."
And Ella returned the bottle to where she had found it, ready to do some cleaning up.

Ethan looked away from the roots for a moment, hearing Minerva's words and he tilted his head thoughtfully. "A teacher..? You really think so? Hm. I hadn't really thought about it.." He started pondering in his mind this possibility, wondering if this might be something right for him in the future. Of course, it would probably have to be something herbologically related.. not that he'd think he'd ever get bored with them anyway..
He watched her as she sprayed some of the roots, nodded approvingly as she misted an appropriate amount over her section. He moved around to the other side and continued spraying a fine mist of the mooncalf solution over a broader section of the roots. Ethan walked around a bit, appraising the plant, then looked back at Min. "Could you spray this small section here?" he asked, so she could continue in the participation. "Then I think we'll be done and can start cleaning up.. "See.. that wasn't so hard.. she managed to get through nearly the entire lesson, now that they were about done.

She stood watching him after she had sprayed her section that he had pointed out. She really could just watch him do this for hours. He really enjoyed it and you could tell, plus she was watching Ethan.. That with in itself was plenty for her to be happy about. A smile hitting her lips, but then the realization that this was the last Herbology class they would be in together took the smile and made a deep frown thinking about that. She didn't want her mind to go that way already, but it was the truth. They wouldn't be doing another Herb class this term, it was obvious by the look of ready to pop Bentley.
Her thoughts were pushed back to reality when she heard him speak. Oh he couldn't have just done the rest of it. Well of course he was trying to keep her involved, probably thought that was best to kick her fears as quickly as possible. Letting out a small sigh she moved closer to the plant again and lifted the spray bottle. Spraying the roots and seeing the mixture form on the roots. There she had finished that part were they done? Could they leave? Cleaning up shouldn't be to hard, right.. "Now what boss?" She gave him a wink and chuckled a bit.
Glad to be finished with the taking care part of the class, Asher concentrated on cleaning up the mess around him. He had been smart about gathering up the dirt and dead roots as he was working, so cleaning up was going to be easy. He took what could be used as compost and placed it over to the side, then started the cleaning of the floor.
"Scourgify" he commanded at the ground below the tree. "Scourgify" Asher wanted to make sure the floor sparkled. Looking all around his area, he was happy with the results.
Now, he wanted to check out the rest of the floor where his group was working. No need to just sit there when he could be helping the others clean.

Ethan watched again as Minerva completed the task, proud of her progress. She still seemed a bit apprehensive around the trees but she was much more comfortable than when she first walked into the greenhouse.. or at least it seemed that way to him. Once she had finished, he determined that they were done with this sapling and should start cleaning up so they could head out. And from the sounds and looks of it.. class was just about ready to be dismissed.
Giving her a little grin in response to her words and wink, Ethan took the bottle from her and said, "Time to clean up.. then we can leave." That's what she wanted to hear, right? He was still not happy that this was the last place she wanted to be, but at least she was pushing through and that said a lot. "I'll put the bottles away if you could get a bucket?" He gestured towards the supply cabinet. "We need to clean up all the debris from the tree, then we can take it over to the compost bin." And they could even do that on their way out.. He took their bottles back to the wagon in the center of the room then stepped back towards their sapling to start cleaning up.

Cleanup time.
Ella eyed the floor and frowned a bit because yeah, she'd made quite the mess. It was better that there was dirt all over the floor than on the roots, though.
The sixteen year old bent down and used her gloved hands to push the dirt and root bits into a pile, thinking it'd be easier to tidy up that way. She continued humming softly as she did so, glancing up at the tree every now and then with a thoughtful expression.

Anya, after combing out the wet spots in her hair, went up and grabbed a spray bottle for both herself and Jake.
She smiled and handed it over then passed him to go back to her spot. She was careful to not spray this stuff on anything but the roots. Because. Ew. Fertilizer. She knew what that was made of.

Right, right. They were in the home stretch...All that was left was to spray the now clean and trimmed roots with fertilizer...and that would be that...
Dylan did have a question, though.
"Professor....is this the only type of fertilizer that's acceptable for these roots?" The Captain was curious, anyway. He eyed stuff as he walked up to retrieve his own bottle. He remembered all the stuff about branches and mooncalf solution..and wondered if this was related in some way.
As he waited for a answer, Dylan moved back to his station, starting to spray the roots and stuff. SPRAY ALL THE ROOTS!

Now that Ella had her pile of dirt and the bits of roots she'd severed, she was ready to clean them up. "Scourgify!" Beam! Looked pretty good to her.
Because things could never be too clean, the blonde again pointed her wand and said, "Scourgify." Perfect, everything was just as it had been when she'd started the class.
Ella then shoved her notes and textbook carefully into her hands and cleaned her gloves before placing them in the front pocket. On the way out the door, she stopped by Professor Bentley and said, "Cool lesson, Professor. Thanks."
Then off she went. Ice cream sounded great right about now.
Aww. It was over. This was easily one of Jake's favorite classes, and now they had to clean up.
Well. After fertilizing the tree.
Jake eyed the tree for a moment, smiling at Anya when she brought him back a spray bottle. "Thanks," he said happily, taking one of the bottles from her. He reached for the roots, running his hand along a section before spraying it with the solution. It was a good thing he was wearing gloves... because he'd be slightly grossed out if he got the stuff on his hands.

They were done.. She could get away from these plants and this greenhouse.. That was fantastic, but.. but that meant no more greenhouse with Ethan. Bigger frown again, last class.. For as much as she wanted summer to get away from this horrible term that it had turned into the last few months, she didn't want all these lasts to start happening. Knowing the next time she would be in here was without him made her anxiety jump again and she took a few deep breaths.
Cleaning.. yes.. they should start cleaning up. Handing over her spray bottle she made her way to the supply cabinet and grabbed a bucket. Her eyes darting to all the plants in the greenhouse. She would be glad when she could breath easy out away from these plants soon. Coming back over to where they were working. She began placing the scraps into the bucket as she waited for Ethan to come back from putting the spray bottles back.

After returning the spray bottles to their proper location, Ethan returned to their work area by the young tree. There were still a bunch of cuttings and soil on the floor of the greenhouse which would make some nice compost. He looked to Minerva as she began piling up some of the scraps into the bucket.
He bent down next to her and began putting the rest of the root cuttings into the bucket as well. Once the biggest pieces were inside, he pulled out his wand and pointed it at the dirt still remaining on the floor. He cast a few nonverbal Scourgify's onto the floor, cleaning up the rest. That spell wasn't as strong nonverbally as a couple of the others he could do.. hence having to do it repeatedly. He did the same to his gloves before stuffing them into his messenger bag.
"Alright, I think that's it," he said to Minerva with a smile. "Grab your things and we can dump the bucket into the compost bin on our way out.." And hopefully they helped their little tree enough for it to survive now.. Ethan packed up the rest of his things and slung the strap of his bag across his shoulder. "Thanks for the lesson, Professor.." he called towards Bentley as he made to leave. "I'll meet you at your office?" Then he headed outside with Minerva to finish their work and leave.

Almost done. All Dylan had to do was spray this stuff on a few more roots and then he'd leave the rest to the others so they could finish up...He'd even go ahead and start clearing the compost away. Mr. Captain was such a good friend.
Lookit.
Anyway, onward with the spraying...
Bottle in hand, he went about finishing up his part of the task. Here a spray....There a spray....Everywhere a spray, spray....He was careful to not get any of his mates with the contents of the bottle. That would've been foul of him...and Dylan wasn't trying to do THAT. His attitude made him foul enough at times...
Spraaaaaaaaying...

She was still picking up some of the smaller twigs and placing them in the bucket when all of the sudden the area was cleaning. She looked around in shock at first and then looked up. "Wow you're getting really good at the nonverbal. I need to start doing that more, but I just forget." She shrugged knowing she liked talking so saying things didn't bother her either. Standing she brushed herself off a bit. How was it she always ended up dirty. Pointing her wand at her robes "Tergeo robes" That was better. She took off her gloves and cleaned them as well.
Walking back over to the work station she threw her gloves back in her bag and made a mental note to clean that bag out later. Looking around she made sure nothing was left and then walked up towards Professor Bentley. Still not really making eye contact with her she gave a small smile, "Thanks for the lesson professor." She turned to head out the door but stopped and turned back to Bentley. "Professor.. Good luck with that baby stuff and congrats and everything." She then turned and followed Ethan out to dump the stuff in the compost. Breathing easier once away from the plants she smiled a bit easier.
