Flanked by giant statues of winged boars on either side, the Front Gate is the main entrance in and out of the Hogwarts Grounds. Fashioned long ago out of the strongest iron, anyone wishing to enter or exit must do so through this passage. The gate remains closed and locked at all times, the sole exception being Hogsmeade weekends. Faculty members are the only ones who can undo the enchantments that surround this barrier, so don’t even think about trying to sneak out for a butterbeer.

Not since she and West broke up, at the very least.
Bliss returned the grin, "you think so? Thank you!" She didn't often get compliments on her singing .. mainly because she didn't sing in front of people, but still. Huh, wait. "Out?" She blinked, not understanding straight away what Cassia meant. "Oh. OH. No, why .. why would I do that?" The fourth year tilted her head to side and considered things, "I wouldn't have anywhere to go, anyway."
Except home and that .. that wouldn't solve anything.
Did Bliss not know she sang beautifully? Now, Cassia wasn't much into music but she certainly would be able to tell a horrible singing voice from a beautiful. Well, one way being that she didn't have to cover her eyes or cringe....or run away. In fact she did stand soundlessly till Bliss finished. Which got the snake to wonder, "Sorry if I wasn't allowed to listen or if it was private but I didn't want to interrupt you," Cassia said. Because it was hard to cut someone singing so passionately. "What was the song about?" Because usually songs' lyrics don't just spill the beans they use symbols and metaphors and stuff. Also, trying for a conversation here.
Who wouldn't want to talk.
Why was Bliss surprised, Cassia pointed at the gate, "Out as in..." Just when she said that she turned to the gate and blinked. "I thought I was at the front doors..not the gate." O___O Was she really that absent-minded. or dumb"I was going out to breath some fresh air." She added. Not that she was asked but it was called chatting.

Oh well, Cassia was a friend, there was no reason at all her it to be awkward, yet her cheeks still burned brightly. Stop it, she mentally scolded them, willing them to return to a calmer colour. "It's .. it's fine. Really, I don't mind," she said honestly and offered the girl a shaky smile. "Oh .. I guess .. everything." That didn't make sense when she said it out loud, but in her head it fit perfectly.
O___O ... Right. "The front gates?" Bliss just blinked and tried to process this. Cassia had walked all this way without knowing where she was. That was crazy. It took skill .. and a very cluttered mind. "Well, I think you got it. How long have you been out?" She asked, tilting her head to the side. Bliss gave her friend a beam; one that said I-don't-think-you're-crazy-now-let's-move-on.

Yeah. "Yeah, it's happened a couple of times. A lot after ... after my dad .." she trailed off and just stared at the ground. Thankfully there were no tears anymore. Usually, when someone does something stupid or embarrassing they don't go around telling people about it. They hide it or make up a story to cover. But that'd be for people who actually think before their tongues start moving. Heh. However, this was Bliss, and she is cool and nice so it wasn't like she was going to laugh and stuffs. "umm..about an hour," She answered. But then shook her head, "I've been distracted. That Arithmancy homework gave me a headache," Yup, totally blame it on that subject. She's usually smart and all. Well, smart enough not to walk thinking she's heading someplace then ending up in a totally different one.

Ouch. Her neck was starting to hurt from looking up at Cassia so much. Carefully, she moved her guitar to the side, and stood up, stretching her back. Much better. Bliss focused on Cassia again and smiled. "Yeah, that's right. For me, it just .. covers a lot." Mostly her Dad, West and now Tag, because that was becoming weird, too. "What did you think of when you heard it?" She asked curiously, then paused. Was that too personal to ask? Um ..
"Oh." She said simply. In her opinion, it was strange that Cassia could have walked around without knowing where she was going for an entire HOUR. Especially if she'd thought that she was inside; wouldn't she have noticed the wind, or the cold? Apparently not. "Arithmancy can do that," she said honestly. The subject was one she liked, but .. it hurt her head, so she could understand exactly where Cassia was coming from. "Why didn't you go to the Healer - to get something for the headache?" she asked in a worried voice; didn't want her friends to be hurting.
"That it does," she agreed quietly, kicking at the ground with slightly unnecessary force.
... she needed a topic change. Um. "Do you play music?"
Ethan shrugged a bit as he handed Eliza back her card. He didn’t really think she was a Muggleborn.. just a hopeful guess so he could have that square filled, but he’d certainly accept something different. “Oh, alright.. I could use the owl square marked off as well,” he said with a smile as he handed his own card over. He thought for a moment, trying to place whether or not he had ever seen Eliza’s owl, and he wasn’t sure that he had. ”So, what kind of owl is Luna? I’m think of getting one for Min’s birthday.. She’s really into them right now..”
He nodded a bit to the question. ”They are.. I’m a pureblood actually,” he added with a little shrug. Not that it mattered anyway.. but it was probably the reason that he didn’t know much about Muggles other than what Min and one of his friends form Beauxbatons had taught him. “So, did your parents go to school here then?” Just a curious thought.. there were a lot of magical schools around though. He glanced down at his card. That gave him three in a row, didn't it? Well, it wouldn't exactly be fair of him to win when it was his game.. he'd hold off and keep playing.. Maybe he'd fill up the whole thing just for fun.

She accepted her card back from him and in turn signed the spot for his owl square. Glad to have a chance to talk about Luna, her eyes lit up. "Oh I think she's a spotted owl! She's really pretty. Though I don't know why they call it spotted really, because some of the 'spots' are more like elongated teardrop shapes. But I guess some of the ones on her chest are more like standard spots...Anyway she's got this deep brownish spotting but it almost looks a little purplish in the right light. She's a great owl. I'm sure Min would love one! They're great for keeping you company and they're useful as well!" Of course she liked other pets as well, but an owl just made a lot of sense. They can fly, they send letters, the understand things, they have a good sense of direction, they're soft and feathery...All good things. Except the droppings. But thankfully the owlery dealt with most of that. At least, it used to, last year...when the school cleaned things. This year she'd taken care of that herself, but it wasn't a huge bother in the end.
Eliza noted Ethan's shrug. She felt the same way about being Pureblood herself. It really didn't make any difference, other than being a little more familiar with the magical world pre-Hogwarts. "I see, I see," she said in a casual response. "Yes my parents went here too," she answered with a smile. "My mom is a former Hufflepuff and my dad was a Ravenclaw. Well, still are I guess, right? Once sorted, always sorted?" She chuckled at the thought of her parents. They were most definitely sorted into the right houses. Her dad was always tinkering and reading, while her mother always knew what to say and always had a free and loving spirit. She was glad she had been able to see them for a while over Christmas break. "So, did your parents go to Hogwarts, or Beauxbatons?" she asked curiously. Maybe they had transferred like Ethan did.
She wondered how far along some of the other students were with their bingo cards. Hers was almost full, but she was still enjoying getting to know her fellow Claws a little better.

It was then that he realised that he had finished the ice cream that he had, and suddenly he felt the need for more ice cream which didn't surprise him really since he had loved ice cream since he and Ella had eaten it together the past two years. Now suddenly he just wanted as much as he could eat as if he was making up for lost time since he hadn't had ice cream in almost a whole year, meh it was ice cream he couldn't complain about that. "Excuse me I will be back in just a moment, I need more ice cream!" he said sounding a little more eager than he planned to but he was an ice cream lover so why not sound eager. So off he went calmly to get some more ice cream before joining Ethan again.
Still a little bashful about forgetting his name, Eliza smiled from the corner of her mouth and looked up at the boy. "Harvey, got it. Sixth year, right. Good to know!" And it seemed he would sign her card for her too, not that she had expected him to refuse, but it was nice all the same. She looked over her card to see which she preferred him to sign, nice of him to ask her too by the way. "Well, if you sign my owl square, I'll have three in a row!" She handed her card to him so he could sign there. "Thanks! What's your owl's name? Does it live here in the owlery?" She wondered if Luna had ever met Harvey's owl. I hope Luna's made friends in there... she thought. I'm sure if she was lonely she'd let me know though.
She blinked a few times as Harvey suddenly ran off and returned with more ice cream. She'd wanted some herself, but hadn't taken the opportunity yet. Maybe now that she had three in a row, she could take a pause for some of the sugary sweets. Unless someone else approached her of course, because she was here first and foremost to socialize!

What did she think listening to it? Cassia considered the question for a bit. It wasn't that she had much going on in her life like Bliss did. Not that the Slytherin had a very clear idea about the badger's personal life, she knew what everyone knew. The break up. Cassia didn't even have any clear idea why. She reckoned it was a top-secret thing. One that only the closest ones of the couple knew. The point was that surely Bliss had more eventful life than Cass. "Um..Nothing deep really. I thought it was a soothing song in general. Calm...and a bit of sad." Talk about shallow.
She tries to be interesting.
Good, she agreed about Arithmancy. Well, Cassia doubted anyone wouldn't. Seriously, all the numbers. Might cause serious damage to the brain, if one wasn't careful. Speaking of damage..the healer! "No need to the healer, it's just a temporary one. A walk would heal it. Like now I'm totally ok!" She smiled brightly at Bliss. "Also, the healer isn't always here. She's got a part-time job." She added. And mind you, she didn't really care about that. "Probably has something to do with the school being broke. Which sucks, no?" Seriously, did anything not get affected by this.
Oh, floor-kick. Wasn't good. Did Cassia hit a nerve or something.

"No actually, I don't play music." See if this was her first conversation with Bliss she'd know she had given very uncool characteristics. Fortunately, Bliss knew her before. Honestly, she figured that it would have made everyone think of something, at least, but apparently not. Or maybe Cassia didn't want to say? Maybe that was it. Though, maybe she just .. didn't. There was nothing wrong thing that, not at all. "Yeah, it's about how things .. work themselves out, but that you have to work for it and that there will be trouble along the way." That was the general idea, anyway. Whether that came across very well, she didn't know. "It's called 'Standing Tall,'" she mumbled as a side note.
Ironic, though, she wasn't tall.
Hmm. Was it just her, or did Cassia seem desperate to not go to the Healer. That was quite understandable, she was known to be quite intimidating and scary, but if anything, she always got her job done. "Okay, if you're sure," Bliss said carefully, eyeing the girl for any signs of headache or hurt. Just to be sure .. "does you head hurt if you poke it?" Serious question. Lots of illnesses and stuff could be determined by prodding. FACT. "She has!?" She asked, her eyes widening slightly. The little badger hadn't heard about that, but it was hardly surprising, seen as she hadn't broken a bone in months. Not since she punched a wall. Smooth move and all.
"Why not?" She asked curiously. It couldn't be because she didn't like music. Everyone liked music. Perhaps Cassia just .. wasn't skilled with music and had skills in other things. "Oh, I've played since I was little. About 4 I started singing more and more. At seven I started to learn how to play guitar and piano." In fact, a lot her childhood, when she wasn't in school or with her family, she spent it playing Quidditch or just being around music. She found it relaxing and it was her thing as well.
Taylor smiled as she danced and twirled down to the front gate. She was happy that she had gotten new clothes for the holiday and that it was back to class time. Tay was starting to come out of her shell that she had made over the summer. She had stopped avoiding people and was starting to feel better. Taylor flopped down on the ground after pulling out a small blanket. She didnt want to stain her white leggings. Tay stretched on on her stomach and took out her drawing book. Taylor looked into her bag and debated what utensil to use... there was pencils, pens, ink, paint, pastels, chalk, charcoal... She sighed and debated before pulling out the charcoal. Tay looked up and looked around, trying to find what to draw when her eyes landed on how pretty the gate really was. Taylor was determined to draw the scene of the gates as well as what was behind the gates that they blocked out. Tay made sure the charcoal was ready to draw with and once she was satisfied with it, she gently put the piece on the paper. Taylor blocked out everything that was going on around her as she delicately drew the multiple lines. She bit her tongue gently as she put all of her focus on getting every last detail right. Taylor occasionally looked up at the scene then right back down to the paper, imagining the lines and the proportions so that she can get the picture just right. She put all of her energy into her drawings and this one wasnt an exception. Tay didnt mind that she had forgotten her coat. She didnt even realize how cold she was since her mind tuned it out along with every noise.

She never knew that Tay was an artist!
Taylor looked up and blinked. It took a few seconds before it registered who it was. "Oh, hey Ronnie!" Tay glanced down at her drawing then back up at the girl, smiling. "Oh thanks... Tay got a look in the glass then started to laugh her butt off. "Oh my gosh, I look silly, dont i?" She giggled and looked at Ronnie then back to the mirror. Taylor havent been this happy in a long time. She smiled the black streaks and started to make them look like war paint or at least the black smudges on football players' faces. Tay glanced back at her friend, "How does it look?" She stood up and straighten her outfit then faked like she was on the runway with the latest style. "I call it Artist War Games!" She winked then fell down onto the blanket, laughing again.

Christmas was looking about the front gate and saw two of her friends she hadn't seen in a while and made her way over to Ronnie and Tay and said "Hey you two i haven't seen you in a good while"
She grinned as the girl wasn't embarrassed like she had been expecting. Taylor was laughing. She began laughing too, since it seemed safe to laugh...y'know. "You do look a bit funny. It makes me think of those Muggle people...um...Indians! Yeah. Like Indian face paint or something!" she said, giggling. She then burst out in laughter at Taylor started to be even more silly. Lots of illnesses and stuff could be determined by prodding. FACT. "She has!?" She asked, her eyes widening slightly. The little badger hadn't heard about that, but it was hardly surprising, seen as she hadn't broken a bone in months. Not since she punched a wall. Smooth move and all.
"Why not?" She asked curiously. It couldn't be because she didn't like music. Everyone liked music. Perhaps Cassia just .. wasn't skilled with music and had skills in other things. "Oh, I've played since I was little. About 4 I started singing more and more. At seven I started to learn how to play guitar and piano." In fact, a lot her childhood, when she wasn't in school or with her family, she spent it playing Quidditch or just being around music. She found it relaxing and it was her thing as well.
In fact, she hoped to be a professional, one day.
Well, Cassia's analysis worked, too? Or not really. But it was only for the reason that Bliss knew the song before and sang it and play it for a lot of times probably. Or she was just thinking that way to make herself feel better. Though, that was a cool analysis. And the song's name sounded like it had a symbolic meaning. The Slytherin nodded letting the subject drop. Just because it probably was a bit personal.
The fourth-year paused considering Bliss's question. She never really attempted to poke her head. But now that Bliss asked it sounded like a reasonable thing to try. Bringing her hand up, Cassia poked her head with a finger then two. Shaking her head she answered," Nope. Not a thing," she smiled at her year-mate. "I guess it's just caused because of over-concentration." Yup. That must be it. Boredom causes headache too. Oh Bliss didn't know about the healer, "Mhhmm.." she emphasized. "I wonder when all this will be solved. Kinda suck to pay entering the common room." She sighed.
Especially if one has little control when spending money.
"MMmm..I don't know. It's a talent I guess." She answered, and smiled brightly knowing that Bliss started playing English very early. "That is very cool and cute," She beamed. She imagined little Bliss with a guitar. Very beautiful mental image. "I like to paint and draw stuffs" Cassia tells her friend. Since they were talking hobbies and all. "Sometimes just random doodles but I enjoy it," Especially when studying., she doodles a lot!
Which reminded her that she hadn't drawn something properly in quite a good time. Lessons to be blamed.

How and why they came to be who they are?
It was very nice to see someone who is concerned about you. And Bliss sounded so sincere. Cassia appreciated he concern a lot. "I think I've been procrastinating and ending up doing all homework together." She admitted. "Maybe if I organize my time, it'll be fine," She was going to give a try for sure. And hoped it'd be the solution. And if things are still the same she'd just have to go to the healer. Ehhh....
At that moment Cassia blamed her dad for limiting her allowance. Everyone's parents were supportive and giving their kids a raise. Except hers, according to him, her dad, she needed to learn how to control her urge to spend money. And maybe it was best for her but she wasn't going to admit it. "My...parents," She caught herself before saying 'my dad' not because Bliss was going to burst in tears or anything. The girl seems to be taking it strong. Especially after a year. But no harm in being considerate. "They think I need to learn how to handle my..pocket," She said smiling because it sounded funny, "Well, between you and me I kinda spend a lot. Or used to," She said dropping her voice a notch. Not that anyone was around but you know dramatic effect and all. The slytherin nodded, "I absolutely agree," She said referring to taking long time to enter common rooms. "Especially if you don't have a knut. Like you have a sickle or a galleon," She suggested. "I don't think the turnstiles know how to give back change," She never saw it doing so. And probably no one tried.
"You know when I was young I used to scribble randomly. I guess everyone did," She said. "But then the more I got older the more I got more interested." she told Bliss. Oh she wanted to see some. The made the Slytherin smile. She never showed much of those to anyone except Blue. Since the two had been making posters and all. But Cassia liked showing her paintings to friends. "Sure I'd be happy to show you," She grinned. "Also my aunt likes to paint and she's a professional. She teaches me a lot," Maybe one day she'd become like her aunt? She hoped so.
