Stepping into the arena, you are immediately enveloped with the light shining into the room, either morning or evening depending on what time you decide to enter. Perhaps the intricately designed windows and ceiling could detour your eyes away from the dusty and cob web infested areas of the more higher portions of the arena. To the very right of the room, there is the long platform in which supervised duels will take place while four benches on either side are placed at a safe distance for those who would like to sit and watch. Just ahead of the platform in the right corner, there is a door, though pay no attention to it. It's locked for a reason.
Towards the back wall, there are various types of practice dummies, both stationary and moving, depending on what difficulty the practicer wants. Don't be afraid to go all out with your spells, for these dummies are charmed to repair themselves. There is one practice dummy set aside that will shoot spells back to the practicer, however, permission from a Professor is required to use it. To the left side of the arena are two sets of stands, eight seats high, that look out to the entire arena, comfortable for those who would just like to watch what's going on all around or for general purposes such as studying or relaxing after a long day in the arena.
The middle of the room is quite empty, due to the fact that the defense Professor enjoys presenting lessons in here, but please, despite the brilliant light that shines through the arena due to the large windows, it is not some place to sunbathe or fall asleep. You will be levitated out with a good dose of cold water splashed on you if caught.

In the middle of talking--more like gawking at Mika and denying herself the impulse of sending another stinging hex at her--Mo was heading over. This conversation was over then, wasn't it? They'd talk about it later when the subject of the conversation wasn't headed their way.
"Oh hey, you finally got done with your duel?" She'd been watching, only vaguely but from what she could tell, Mo wasn't winning.
That would change once they were done. "I was just blowing up things with Mika. The books over there. You could grab it then we can get started." This would no doubt be the high light of her day. There were so many in that book, some she REALLY like but didn't figure she could use on Mo...or anyone else.

Mo grabbed the book as he headed toward Lex. This was a really really REALLY REALLY bad idea, considering. Considering all ideas in the world, it was somewhere between 'eating a sandwich between slabs of jello' and 'letting a lethifold tuck you in at night'. This was... letting Lex try dangerous spells. On purpose.
It made him want ice cream. Like... it made him want it NOW and in serious way.

Was it her or did Mo seem a bit hesitant in getting the book? This was perfectly alright. He was the one who told her that she should give reading a try. Well now she found a book she REALLY REALLY wanted to read so he needed to be super happy for her and be grateful he wouldn't be the target.
"I've picked out quite a few actually but...um...after hearing you say that I don't think you'd be interested in the ones I've seen."

Ohai Mo snatching the book suddenly. Did he not approve of the spell?? Really? But she hadn't even mentioned the part about shoving people into the bottomless pit after they made it. It was gonna be a surpriiiiize for him. One he wouldn't see seeing as he was searching the book, probably for something safer.
Then, quite suddenly, he had to go.
Bliiiiiink.
She swatted at his hands to get them off her face but before anything else could be done he was scurrying off. "Hey! Wait! Define soon! Like later? Five minutes from now? Next year??? Stoooop!" But he was already at the door. "You forgot your stuff!! Mika, I dunno if I'll be right back, 'kay?" Then she bolted after him.
He couldn't have gotten that far.

Yaaaaaaaawn. Jeez, Ascanius was still pretty tired from that nap he had taken a bit ago instead of going to practice, 'cause the less amount of time in the sky made for a happy Ascanius. Napping didn't always make him more handsome because... c'mon, but yeah, there was that.
But now, he had to do this ruddy duel thing with his captain, which meant that he had to do the whole effort thing. Ha. Yeah, okay, yeah? Nope.
Anyway, waltzing in all lazy like probably late, yeah definitely late, he smirked at his captain and almost made a comment about how he looked all different without his Slytherin Common Room Apron on, but decided against it. Didn't mean he wasn't picturing him in said apron though. Heh.
He DID smirk at him though and saluted all condescending like, "Sup, Captain?" Oh no, see, don't be confused there, Captain. Ascanius actually didn't care.
Moving his way over to him, Ascanius tried not to yawn when he continued on, "So, we doing this or what?" 'Cause he was pretty sure he could be doing other things. Ahem.

Dora had gotten up SUPER early to get cleaned up and make food and be first to the dueling arena. She wasn't here for an actual duel, they were purposely going to get hit with spells, but that was MUCH more fun and required them to use the arena. Experimenting was fun.
And the best part was now their were no limitations to who could hit who with what. For reasons.
Going deeper into the arena, she pulled out her wand and walked around aimlessly, waiting for her other two Ravenclaw friends to show their sleepy faces.

Aidan was USUALLY an early riser. Especially on Christmas. But this was NOT Christmas. And he was sleepy because he didn't go to bed until late because he'd eaten ice cream and had too big of a sugar rush to go to sleep. So, yeah, he was a little late. But just a little, right?
The boy met his fellow housemates in the Duelling Arena, rubbing his eyes while crossing the threshold. "Ready," he yawned. Cause they were CLEARLY waiting for him. Never fear, Aidan was here. They could start.

"But if we all walked down together, I wouldn't have been first to get here." She grinned in return to Mo and his whole show when he arrived. Actually she didn't feel like waiting around for either of the boys, not when she had to fight Alice awake so that she could babysit Biter while she was getting antlers on her head. That took lots of time cause of all the resistance and bickering.
The usual when Alice was woken up against her will in the early hours.
Picking up the ends of her two braids, she waved them at Mo. "My head and I are excited about the soon-to-be new addition. How about you?" Her eyes flickered over to Aidan when he finally showed his face, yawning like Mo had.
It was as if the boys didn't know how to get a proper night's rest. "Ready for antlers, or ready to go back to sleep?" She dropped her braids and gave her wand a little twirl between her fingers.

Nerida entered the dueling area. Looking forward to dueling with her new best friend. She was super happy she had a partner that she could do the DADA stuff with that wasn't her sister or Narumi who she normally did stuff with.Doing it alone was no fun, no fun at all!
She leaned against the wall, playing with her wand in her hands. Now to wait for Laura. As she waited the Ravenclaw pulled out a rainbow hair tie and tied her hair up into a ponytail. That way when they were dueling it wouldn't get all in her face. She looked down at her watch, she had gotten up earlier than she normally would have, where was the hufflepuff?

She pierced her eyes at Laura, she was hiding something wasn't she? She nodded finally accepting half heartedly that Laura was just being slow and thats why it took her so long.
"Um...Hold on." She reached into her pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. With everything that the notice had said they had to do. "This is for the exercise," showing her the paper. The princess demands...

"I did find a few candidates, I might have to put a sign up, sign here if you want a date with Nerida Eventide put your name down here." Laura giggled.
"Okay I think we should do the spell first because I am awesome at them and I want you to be amazed." Laura smirked, she had been practicing. "Though I hope your good because we don't want to have to go to a Professor." Laura said truthfully well there was no full time healer.

Laura looked at Nerida. "Okay we will." Laura giggled this was just awesome, she loved hanging out with Nerida. "I'm going to find you a boyfriend or my name isn't Miss Trouble." Laura winked.
"Okay then just spells it is." Laura smiled, this was going to be epic. "I think we should get started then and I promise I'll go easy on you." Laura said truthfully.

"Sounds good with me." This was going to be the best duel ever!! She smiled a big grin, "Yeap...No I promise I will go easy on you. Not...Mostly not. She said the steps out loud mostly for her but if Laura needed them to they were said for her too. "So first we bow." She did a bow towards Laura. "And then we take paces away from each other. 10 good?" She turned on her heels counting to ten silently as she walked.
Okay.
The sixth year turned and pointed her wand towards Laura. The duel started.

Laura looked at Nerida and bowed before she counted 10 paces. "Do you know there is something wrong with that, if your tall your paces will be bigger than if you were small." Laura giggled seriously it was true, "I'm ready when you are." Laura giggled, this was going to be a duel to end all duels.

Laura looked at Nerida. "Protego Maxima!" Laura used one hand to create the shield to deflect the spell and her other hand to yawn. "So easy Nerida." Laura laughed, she was really good at spells, she had been practicing. "Calvario!" Laura shouted pointing her wand at Nerida, this was going to be awesome if it connected.
