Stepping into the arena, you are immediately enveloped with the light shining into the room, either morning or evening depending on what time you decide to enter. Perhaps the intricately designed windows and ceiling could detour your eyes away from the dusty and cob web infested areas of the more higher portions of the arena. To the very right of the room, there is the long platform in which supervised duels will take place while four benches on either side are placed at a safe distance for those who would like to sit and watch. Just ahead of the platform in the right corner, there is a door, though pay no attention to it. It's locked for a reason.

Towards the back wall, there are various types of practice dummies, both stationary and moving, depending on what difficulty the practicer wants. Don't be afraid to go all out with your spells, for these dummies are charmed to repair themselves. There is one practice dummy set aside that will shoot spells back to the practicer, however, permission from a Professor is required to use it. To the left side of the arena are two sets of stands, eight seats high, that look out to the entire arena, comfortable for those who would just like to watch what's going on all around or for general purposes such as studying or relaxing after a long day in the arena.

The middle of the room is quite empty, due to the fact that the defense Professor enjoys presenting lessons in here, but please, despite the brilliant light that shines through the arena due to the large windows, it is not some place to sunbathe or fall asleep. You will be levitated out with a good dose of cold water splashed on you if caught.

Dylan was back again. Back for another session of spell practice. Today, he has something a little different in mind...Something he'd been meaning to work on for a while, actually...but had always been to busy to bother with it.

Nonverbals.

He'd read somewhere that they were meant to start mastering nonverbal spells by the time they reached Sixth Year...but Dylan could never personally remember a lesson on them. Luckily enough for him, he took initiative and starting doing things just because. He like learning things that were considered difficult. He enjoyed shocking those around him...and hearing them say 'Oh, I didn't know you could do that!'...Yep, the Slytherin lived for words like that. Pretty much...

Putting his bag down and slipping his robe off, Dylan approached the practice dummies that he'd been becoming more than acquainted with over the last couple of weeks. He eyed them a tad mincing and pulled his wand...

He needed to clear his mind...

TOTALLY clear his mind...To really pull off the nonverbal aspect, Dylan needed to understand all parts of the spell. Everything about the intention and what it did...and the one he was attempting to cast...was a rather easy one...One that even First Years were masters of...

Lumos.

Yep. Simple enough. He wasn't going to attack them just yet...No...This was more important that going on the offense right now...

I want my wand tip to light up...I want my wand tip to light up...I want my wand tip to light up...I want my wand tip to light up...

Dylan repeated the mantra in his head...suddenly ready to try it...

LUMOS!

With eyes clenching shut...Dylan opened them to peer down at his wand...that was NOT lit...

It wasn't like Alice was meaning to break Dylan's concentration but.. what was he doing? "Why are you standing holding your wand with your eyes closed like that? It looks weird." Maybe he was.. oh. Nonverbals.

She couldn't do those.. so.. she was just going to go work on her own thing today, okay?

There were more jinxes she wanted to practice, but since these ones were new to her, she started with a stationary dummy instead of a moving one. Sleeves rolled up and wand out, Alice set her things down nearby and chose one to practice on, thinking of jinxes she could cast today. One with a counterjinx, preferably, so she'd get to practice two spells. In most cases, the fifth year was lazy and didn't like doing extra work, so she had to trick herself into doing things like counters.

Hmm.. Levicorpus, then.

Never having tried it, she did recall all the information she'd read on it during studying, so Alice would use that to her advantage. The pronunciation was Levi-COR-pus, and the movement was an upward flick. Simple enough, right?

"Levi-COR-pus. Levi-COR-pus, Levi-COR-pus, Levicorrrrrrpus."

Feeling disappointed that he hadn't accomplished something as simple as 'Lumos' on his first nonverbal try sorta discouraged the Slytherin a smidgen. Merlin, the spell was so blasted SIMPLE. It was probably one of the most simple spells in existence...

Trying not to get too frustrated with himself, Dylan continued to work at it...He was focusing...and concentrating...and doing all those things...He was picking it, too. Picturing his wand tip bursting with a brilliant, white light. He could clearly see the imagine in his head...So, what had went wrong...?

He was focusing as hard as he could...

OH. Wait...

Damn.

He'd had forgotten the wand movement...Snort. That would explain it...

Feeling some help creeping back into his chest...all joyful and whatnot...he centered himself and took a great big, DEEP breath. Inhaling....Exhaling....Clearly picturing his wand tip lit up...It needed to happen. The Captain could SEE it happen...He could MAKE it happen...

Inhale. Exhale.

LUMOS.

While he thought about it, his wand went through the motions, like a cursive lowercase 'e'...and when he opened his eyes after all that hard focus and concentration, Dylan had not been disappointed. SCORE! His wand tip was LIT UP! He tried not to feel too happy about it and stuff...because it was a REALLY easy spell...but he couldn't help himself.

WOOOOOOT!

"Levi-COR-pus. Levi-CORRRR-pus."

Incantation part, she had down. What next. Just practicing the movement? Alice tried making an upward flick with her wand, and it seemed to be easy enough to get. Was she meant to try it on a dummy now? Not yet, perhaps it'd be a better idea to learn the counter-jinx first.

More information from the books she'd spent ages poring over in the library came flooding back into her mind. Liberacorpus, pronunciation Lib-ER-A-cor-pus, movement an upwards jerk of the wand. Flexing her fingers, the Gryffindor tried to master that incantation first before moving on. "Liberacorpus. Liberacorpus. Lib-ER-A-cor-pus. Liberrrrrrrraaaaaacorpus. Lib-ER-A-cor-pus. Liberacorpus." Did that sound about right?

Sure it did. Positive self affirmations and stuff.

She'd practice the movement next.

Sarah worked into the duelling arena. Today she was going to practice how to defend herself against Dark Creatures. Today two challenges: the Basilik and a Red Cap. The Basilik would have to be first, as Sarah was more scared of that then the other one, and the other one was easy.

She walked over to the dummy of the snake. She did not get too close as she wanted to practice the spells first. The first spell would target the eyes of the creature. Before getting any nearer, Sarah looked into her notes on the spell:

Conjunctivitis :: A cross slash from top to bottom and then a jab towards your intended target

The incantation for this one would be harder then the wand movement, that is why Sarah decided to try the incantation first.

“Con-junc-tivitis” She mouthed. Then she clapped it, each syllable awarded a clap. She then repeated it over and over, aquainting the spell with her tongue. When she had it, she put it together and after a few hiccups it was ready to be played.

She walked over to the snake and it came to life, “Conjunctivitis” she called doing the ross cash from top to bottom. Then she gave a jab in the direction of the dummy.

Pride. Dylan felt SO much pride...but he couldn't help it. That was the first spell...besides Aguamenti and Scourgify, that he'd ever performed without uttering a word. It was amazing stuff. Made his insides feel warm and gooey...like he could take on anything in that moment...EVEN the mastery of ANOTHER nonverbal...

He'd go with another easy one.

Accio.

Like Lumos.....Accio was another one that should've been easy enough to handle without even a second thought. First Years could even perform the spell...Dylan had seen them do it...So, he totally needed to challenge himself and one-up that. If it was easy to small kids...It'd sure be just as easy for him to breeze through.

He started off with thinking about it...He was focusing again...just like he had with Lumos. He could see his bag in hid mind's eye. In fact, he could see it coming to him...lifting itself up and drifting right on over from it's spot on the floor...Dylan could even see his robe dropping to the ground when it did so...

Breathing in and out....Steady.....Inhaling and exhaling...Focusing...

I can see my bag coming to me...I want my school bag to come to me....Send my school bag to me....Lift it up and make it float right into my hands...

He felt ready...The magic was flowing...He just needed to point his wand at it...Dylan lifted his arm, staring intensely at his school bag, wand poised....

Next, she was meant to JERK her wand upwards.

JERK. Okay.

Alice jerked her wand like how she remembered reading and hoped that she was doing it right, because there was absolutely no way to tell right now if she wasn't. And she couldn't test out the counter until she cast Levicorpus first. She'd do that first.

"Levi-COR-pus. Levicorpus." Upwards flick to finish with, too, and soon enough, there was a flash coming from the tip of her wand. The stationary dummy in front of Alice was immediately hoisted into the air by its ankle. So it had worked? She'd originally been a bit iffy about trying this jinx, seeing as it was best spoken nonverbally, and she most definitely couldn't practice nonverbals yet like Dylan was.

But it HAD worked.

Alice pumped her fist in the air and did an awkward little celebratory dance before refocusing.

Spells, right. Ahem.

Within the next few seconds...his bag twitched...and sluggishly started making it's way over...Dylan knew what the spell was supposed to look like and that it wasn't nearly powerful enough to be right...BUT IT WAS A START...At least he'd made it move some...Some was definitely better than NONE. The Slytherin knew that much.

ALRIGHT. He didn't want to press his luck with it...The Slytherin would move on to something else....He'd revisit Accio later...

So...trying something a little ambitious...which was totally Dylan's style, he thought of the spell Diffindo...and figured he'd performed it enough to be completely comfortable in casting it non-verbally if need be. All he needed to do was keep that laser like precision and focus that he was KNOWN for...People knew he took 'focus' to a whole new level. They knew how serious he was in all aspects of his life...Nothing would deter him ever.

Diffindo...

He needed to let his magic flow and picture all the things clearly. Something being cut through...His wand slashing down an then up and quickly down again...cutting cleanly through materials...Just like West had cut through that bouquet of flowers that one time when they'd been practicing them for Herbology Task Force...

Making sure his focus was on point...he traced the wand motion he knew by heart...and then exhaled.

Next, she was meant to cast Liberacorpus, the counter-jinx. This one still felt a little funny on her tongue, though, but Alice was going for it anyway. Wand pointed at the dummy that was still hoisted in the air, she gave her hand a firm jerk upwards. "Lib-ER-A-cor-pus. Liberacorpus!" The incantation, though, came out of her lips a bit slurred, and she was sure it wasn't going to work, because there wasn't a flash. No light, even. Not even sparks.

Did Liberacorpus even have a light to accompany the spell?

Hmm.. maybe not.

Either way, the dummy was still hanging by it's ankle in midair, and Alice wanted to get it down already. Maybe she hadn't practiced the incantation enough? Flexing the fingers of her wand hand and giving it a break- she'd been practicing for a while now, hadn't she? It was bound to get tiring- and tried saying the spell a couple more times.

"Liberacorpus. Liberacorpus. Lib-ER-A-cor-pus. Liberrrrrrrraaaaaacorpus. Lib-ER-A-cor-pus. Liberacorpus."

Maybe she could try casting again now.

Sarah watched in amazement as the spell worked. She was surprised that she had the heart to do a real attacking spell. It always surprised her when she was no as soft as she supposed she was. But then again, this was a dummy, not a real basilik. Also, as it was a dark creature, Sarah found it easier to attack, because if it was a real basilik then it would be a life or death decision.

While the basilik could not see, Sarah looked in her notebook for another spell she could use on the snake. Obscuro, another one about the eyes. This was understandable as the eyes of the creature was one of its most lethal parts.

Obscuro had such a basic wand movement so she would practice the incantation first- wait.. the spell on the basilik!dummy had worn off. That meant that she had to react then and there. “oooobscuro” she stuttered, so caught by surprise. She inhaled sharply and swallowed, “Obscuro” she said, this time stronger, pointing her wand at the snake.

Suddenly the snake was blindfolded. It had worked. It must be Sarah’s lucky day when it came to spells. She should work on the Red Cap now.

He heard something fall to the floor and remained focused...Dylan didn't know why he was remaining focused...but he just wanted to. Something was telling him to...Looking down, he seen a piece of a practice dummy's arm laying on the floor...and blinked. It had WORKED?!

BLINK!

Dylan had absolutely thought that would fail. MISERABLY.

BAWSS.

Right, right...ONE MORE. This would be the one that would REALLY challenge him...The one that would REALLY be the test of skill...The ONE THAT WOULD PROVE EVERYTHING TO BE TRUE OR FALSE...*cue all the epic music*

A nonverbal Disarming Charm.

He'd been more successful than he thought he would be with all the spells he'd practiced...So, perhaps a miracle would take place. That could happen. He could do this. It was just disarming...and if he didn't get it...that was okay, too. Dylan could think like a Hufflepuff for just a bit and tell himself to just try and try again...It would eventually work and get figured out...

He needed someone to disarm, though...

Meh, he wondered what would happen if he tried to disarm one of the practice dummies...Right. The Slytherin was totally going to try it.

FOCUSING...ALL THE FOCUS. This was a hard one...Concentrating on the dummies being defenseless...like they already were...but them getting disarmed...Them losing their means to attack, not that they could. Meh...they would've worked better with a live person...Would there be some tell-tale way of knowing if it had worked, though...

BREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEATHING. FOCUSING THE MAGIC....Feeling the magic flow....Seeing himself disarming them...Grinning in pleasure at the sight...The feeling of being successful in disarming someone without saying the spell. He thought about all these things...

BREEEATHING. Dylan was almost there. He could feel it building up. The magic and stuff. He just needed to go through the wand motions and that would be that. He could do this. HE COULD. Positive affirmations.

Expelliarmus!

STARE...

Nothing happened immediately...but then the dummies hand that he'd severe had popped up and smacked him right across the face. Dylan, being stunned that the hand at flew at him...took several steps back. Did that mean it had worked? Was that a sign? DYLAN DIDN'T...

Expelliarmus!

He repeated it...hoping to get another reaction...the hand on the floor twitched...but otherwise didn't move. How very interesting.

Saying the incantation a few more times just to get it feeling normal on her tongue, and because she WANTED to master the counter this time, Alice pointed her wand at the dummy again. It was going to cooperate right now, yeah? She really needed it to. "Liberacorpus!" As the incantation was spoken, the fifth year gave her wand another firm jerk upwards.

There was still no light coming from the tip of her wand, but this time, the dummy came crashing to the ground. YES SUCCESS. Alice FISTPUMPED excitedly before righting her dummy again and peeking over at Dylan. It had been like an hour and a half already, was he done?

Hmm. Well. She was.

Alice waved at him, if he wasn't too busy with his nonverbals to notice, and then left to go do, like, Gandr smoothing or studying for OWLs or something. Busy girl, ya know?

The Slytherin Quidditch Captain was back again...but this time...he has serious business to handle in this arena...Serious things were going on around the school and it was because of that that he needed to prepare...Focus. Get his stuff together...

Dementors.

There had been dementors EVERYWHERE...and because of that...Dylan would be practicing his patronus today. Professor Romanos said SPELLWORK...So, clearly any spell would do.

For the last time, he set his bag down and removed his outer robe...

Dylan had always struggled with this spell...but not recently. Not sense that first time. In fact, he'd been casting it so much around school that it almost had become second nature to him to whip his wand out and point...and scream EXPECTO PATRONUM....

Even now, he knew he could do it....He felt it...

Not being able to stop himself, the Slytherin pulled his wand and spoke the spell calmly. "Expecto Patronum." Immediately, the Raven burst from his wand tip soaring up high...and then diving towards him, circling around his body in a startling show of bright light...

All he had to do was think about his Championship...That's all it took......but then the raven disappeared.

Focusing. THAT was what needed work....Keeping it going...Making then it wouldn't get eaten...

It was as if the dummy could read her mind, as before Sarah could back away from the blindfolded dummy of the snake, a Red Cap rattled towards her. When Sarah had chosen to work on the Red Cap, she was not in an industrious mood as Red Caps did not need hard spells for it.

“Stupefy” she called jabbing her wand in the direction of the dummy. Thinking it to be easy, Sarah had not put full intent behind the spell, so nothing changed about the Red Cap!Dummy. She laughed at herself and brought her mind towards the dummy again, another jab and “Stupefy” this time it worked and the dummy froze.

Sarah had not taken her medicine yet so her attention quickly wondered over to the Hinky Punk in the corner. She could so deal with that one too. She remembered that Lumos Duo would be best for that creature, along with Flipendo. So she walked over to it and did a small clockwise twirl of her wand and then flicked her wrist, “Lumos Duo” she said.

Today really was her lucky day!

Following the previous week, Alice was back for more spell practice. It probably would help to perform more spells that would help her on OWLs but.. what were those spells, again? Maybe if they handed out a pamphlet or something at the beginning of the year and were like 'you have to take OWLs, study all these spells', she'd do better on it. But they didn't do that, so she was pretty sure failing was going to happen soon.

But. Anyway. Point was that she didn't have any spells left to practice.

Alice had set her bag and other things down nearby, so she went and retrieved her textbook from it and began flipping through the pages. Hm.. something to cast.. Hex? Disarming spell? Was she going on the defensive or offensive side? Apart from that Revertoscutum shield, her favorites were offensive.

She'd try to find something on that side of things.

What about this one? Her eyes landed on one jinx in particular.. Melofors.

Encasing peoples' heads into a pumpkin? Definitely learning this.

Taking some deep breaths, he focused on his happy memory. The Championship, of course...Everything about winning the Quidditch Cup made him happy. The finality of it...Him going out on top and non-contested. It just...Weightless. It was the only way it could really be described as...

It felt right and Dylan whipped his wand around again...

"Expecto Patronum!" More excitement colored his voice that time as he allowed the beautiful memory to take hold...It was keeping the Raven around, the one that had just BURST from his wand tip like a shooting star, that was the problem. He'd lose focus...Would get shaken...and the Raven would disappear or get eaten...

At the thought of the last couple of dementor attacks, the raven disappeared AGAIN...He was being too tentative. That had to be it...He wasn't giving it enough juice or something...or maybe when he thought about his patronus getting eaten, it made him too angry for the memory to work...maybe?

"Expecto Patronum!" Dylan tried to think of nothing else as the Raven appeared for the third time and swooped around the room, diving in and out of its surroundings gracefully. The Slytherin loved his patronus...He did...It was a reminder of her....

Oh...he was doing it again...

Right....JUST focusing on the memory...

The Raven shimmered as if it were abouto disappear...but then didn't. Dylan bit at his lip...It was too weak. It needed to be stronger...but how could he make it stronger?

She wanted to put a dummy's HEAD in a PUMPKIN. Would Romanos mind that students were performing spells like those on her dummies? Alice sure hoped not, because she was certainly trying this.

She crossed her legs on the ground and kept reading. Hmm.. pumpkin could be shattered and the dummy's head freed, or it could fall apart on it's own? Which of those would she try with the dummy? Alice supposed it didn't matter, as long as the professor's equipment was fine. When she figured that she'd taught herself a good enough bit about the jinx, the fifth year decided it was time to try and cast it.

Couldn't be that hard, yeah? All she was doing was putting dummy appendages inside a gourd.

"Melofors." It sounded funny, but Alice thought she could get this one right quickly, so she was going to practice on a moving dummy. For the first time in nearly ever.

She could DO IT. Positive self drive. Yeah.

As Dylan battled with keeping his Patronus here or there...a strange thought occurred to him. Maybe eating chocolate would help? He'd eaten some at their event and he'd maintained that patronus for a long time. Probably the longest he ever had...

Ugh...The Patronus continued to disappeared just minutes after being cast. The Slytherin couldn't figure out the issue. Nothing had change. Nothing at all. He was still the same person deep down...He'd just been faced with REAL dementors finally...That was the only things that was even remotely different.

That...and the fact that he was a Champion now...but that wouldn't have effected anything. Not dealing in happy memories and being able to keep the patronus flying high in the sky when dementors were eating them...

SIGH.

"Come on Raven. Stay with me."....Dylan might have been getting annoyed...."Expecto patronum!"

As the spell had worked the first time, Sarah now knew she had to repeat it until the creature is blinded by the light. Sarah was feeling so confident now, although she knew she would not be so if this was a real Hinkypunk out in a wetland. But then of course, Sarah would not be silly enough to follow the lamp, she was sensible. But then again, with her ‘good eye’ training she might be true trusting. She would also have to know how to deal with a HInkybink in order to stop it from inconveniencing other travellers.
“Lumos Duo”, another clockwise twirl of the wand and then a jab. She repeated it a few times until it became apparent that it was enough to blind any HInkypunk. Which meant it was time for the knockback jinx.

Sarah knew how to do a Flipendo, yet today she was going to try charge it. She made a squiggly line with her wand, “Flipendo” she said, yet now, unlike the other times Sarah did not release it right away, instead she waited as the spell began to change from its blue hue. She was rather interested in the colour change that when it took on a purplish-red hue she was slow to react. By the time she did, releasing it, it was too late and Sarah soon found herself flying backwards.

Once she had replaced her textbook into her bag and lugged her things ALL the way over to her choice of moving dummies- did that count as part of her weekly exercise? Totally should have- Alice pulled her wand out of her pocket and began to prepare. Of course, new jinxes required preparation, didn't they? It wasn't like she was some prodigy who could cast spells out of no where. Nope, she needed practice.

So practice was what she'd get.

"Me-lo-fors. Melofors. Melllllofors." It was definitely one of her favorite incantations, the way it sounded when she spoke. Almost like some kind of fruit. Fruit.. she was hungry again. Growing girl, you know?

But right, spell casting. CONCENTRATE, Fischer.

"Melofors," she spoke aloud again, pointing her wand at the dummy. That was all it took, right? A Point?

The Raven burst forth once more and this time...Dylan allowed his mind to only focus on it...It's shiny, magnificent form and rich deep eyes...The Raven itself seemed fine enough. She....or he....was soaring around the room...not doing anything in particular...

...but within minutes...he'd disappeared again. Even with Dylan NOT thinking about traumatic things...UGH. He just couldn't figure out what when wrong. He'd been able to cast it just fine any other time...

"Expecto patronum!"...The Raven didn't even appear that time...

SIGH.

He was so confused about everything...

.....

Maybe that's what it was...

Maybe because he'd been scared with the dementor eating his patronus...And not just his, really...but everyones...Was he the one being too timid to make the patronus stay? It was him?

She saw the jet of orange light stream from the tip of her wand, but it had inconveniently slipped Alice's mind that this dummy moved. What? Where had it gone? There? She scowled at her target, willing it to stay in place so she could encase its head in a pumpkin. Work to do here, okay, dummy?

"Melofors." The fifth year pointed again, only to have the dummy elude her spell once more. How did it MOVE so FAST? No fair. She slumped a little, but tried to maintain her concentration. No, dummy, okay? This was SPARTA. Alice was going to GET IT.

Whew. Okay. "Melofors!" Dodged. Again? This was getting irritating.

Could she move to a stationary one? Please?

"Melofors!" Stupid dummy. Alice stuck her tongue out at it like a three year old. Not cool, okay?

What if he cast an Impediment Charm instead of the Shield Charm? What would happen to the ball? Mo glanced at Toby, just to see how he was holding up before resuming his stance and throwing that ball. HARD.

"Impedimenta," Mo cast the spell at the ball that was zipping back toward them. It seemed to freeze there in the air in front of him. Or not freeze, really, since it was still moving very slowly toward him, rolling over and over through the air like it was stuck in a pot of cold honey. Awesome.

"Finite," Mo murmured, reaching out his hand and capturing the ball from the air just as the spell ended. Wow. Just... talk about fun parlor tricks. The real trick would be using these spells as quickly on a real person as on an inanimate ball flying through the air.

"Nice to meet you, Toby. I'll see you next time, okay?" Mo offered a hand to the boy before heading for the door.

Okay, yeah, it was a GOOD job Mo had put out the fire, because Toby actually had no idea how to do any water spell other than that spritz one they'd learnt in Herbology... and that would be very good. He carried on grinning as he watched the flames die, and fistbumped when offered. That was AWESOME. He was GOOD at fire. PyroPuff, YEAH!

He thought about doing the fire again, but he didn't want someone else to have to put it out again, so instead he looked around the duelling arena and watched with fascination some of the spells everyone else was using, making mental notes of a few of them. He was TOTALLY going to do as much research as possible on spells and do a lot better and be a super powerful wizard. One day. First he better get started on the first year spells.

Anyway, what, Mo was leaving? Toby widened his smile again and shook the older boy's hand. "Nice to meet you too! Sure, I'll see you soon."

And then he went back to his bag and books and made some notes in one of them and wrote down a list of spells in the back of one of them. Spells he was going to make his way through. YEP. Then he chucked all his school things back in his bag, made sure he still had his wand, and left to get some dinner.

Leaving the defeated, soggy dummy behind.

Feeling kinda useless, Dylan attempted to recreate the magic of his Cup victory to coax out his patronus...but apparently the memory had lost it's usefulness. Apparently it wasn't good enough anymore...but it was now marred with the fact that the dementors had ruined every good thing that had happened to him this term.

Literally...

With that thought in mind, though...Dylan wasn't giving up. He would figure out what had changed and what was now keeping him from being able to hold the patronus in place...He would...

Maybe the memory wasn't strong enough in the right place. Maybe the fact that the patronus had appeared at all had been a fluke. That could have happen, yea?

FINE. He'd think about something...different...

Immediately, his thoughts settled on Beezus...Beautiful Beezus...and her sweet smile and happy face...Usually happy face...UGH. That wasn't going to work either...

His brother and sister, then...Dylan settled his focus on Christopher and Charlotte...They were the BEST babies on the planet. Dylan knew personally because his mother had still be very sick...and hadn't been able to leave the hospital for like a month...So, Dylan and Beezus had been there...and...Ugh...They made his soul feel at peace...

Blink. Blink.

"Expecto patronum!" The Raven appeared and was soaring high once again....leaving Dylan MORE confused than he had been before.

What was going on with this thing?!

If someone else had the same experience they would have given up with the complicated version and instead kept to the simple one. Not Sarah. She was now more determined then ever to master the charged spell. She got up off her feet, a determined glint in her eyes as she faced the hinkypunk again. Now the one legged creature hardly scared her and she faced it. She casted Lumos Duo a few more times, until it was in its blinded state again.

Now it was time for charging, “Flipendo” she said after doing her squiggle. She held the energy in her wand and watched carefully as the colour changed from the blue. This time when it became the strange purplish red, Sarah was waiting, as quick as she could she released the power and the spell deftly knocked the creature off its feet.

Sarah grinned, yet she could not stop now, “Flipendo” she casted again, waiting again until it reached purplish red before releasing it. The creature seemed weaker this time. She casted Flipendo once more and released it right away. After all, it only required three to five times before it would disappear. Anyways, it was time for her to water her plants.
