This square, stone area is the middleman between the castle and the grounds. Thick columns enclose this space, while elegant ivy creeps its way up the pillars. In the center, water plays merrily down a multi-tiered fountain, which provides a pleasant background for conversations. Whether it is a bench to sit on, a quiet place to study, or a hang out spot for friends, there are many ways students use this open-air location.
Sonea frowned when the girl didn't wanted to tell her what she was reading, she was curious, especially now that the girl tried to hide the title from her book with her hand after she had closes it quickly. Sonea wondered why the girl was reading something in a public place where everybody could see her when she didn't wanted anybody to know what she was reading... But... Sonea had a nice day and she decided to ignore it, for now...
"Hi Susan, I'm Sonea" said Sonea while she shook Susan's hand. She took her rat Little princess out of her pocket and showed Susan with a big grin her rat, "and this is my rat, Little princess" said Sonea while she helped her heavy rat on her shoulder.
Susan was happy that the girl didn't ask about her book anymore. She would have to be more careful about where she read it, she was just so excited to have the book she was being careless. She would not make that mistake again.
Susan watch as Sonea pulled out a pink rat. Pink? Susan didn't know rats could be pink. That was just a little odd, but the rat was really cute and the pink made it seem pretty than a normal colored rat. "Was Little Princess born pink or is it a spell or something? I have never seen a pink rat before and it's really interesting. Can I pet her?"

Horrifying! Absolutely unacceptable.
She readied her shoes to be placed on the little steps and beamed at Cat. "Ready when you are."
Cat began grinning immediately when she spotted Alice. She stood from the bench and patted her trusty pogo stick. "I've been trying to do the same thing. I just keep it in my trunk." Hogwarts was kind of a dirty place, actually. She'd figured her trunk was probably the cleanest.
She stepped up on the foot pads and grinned, "I'm ready!" Hopefully people would stay out of their way. They weren't quite professionals just yet. With that thought in mind, she pushed off and started to BOUNCE. WHOO. "So. How've you been?" Hmm? She must be distressed like everyone else over the state of the school, right?
Blink. He was gonna leave? Did he really think that would work? Because she would've just followed him and pestered him until he talked to her and cheered up. Because she was a good girlfriend like that. Yep.
Oh but no, he was actually staying. The kiss had done the trick. Smirk. Good. She knew hoped it would.
And there was the smile she was looking for and his bunny face!. It was small, but it was there at least. "Good," she replied with a grin, shifting her place on the bench a bit so that she was facing him. "Because I love you and I like it when you smile." Was this cheering him up too? To help him along in case it wasn't, her hands reached forward, resting on either side of his face, and she used her thumbs to gently push up the corners of his mouth into a bit more of a smile. Smiiiiile, Ascanius.
You know, it really wasn't cool that Penelope exploiting the kissing thing. He was a guy and that trick BASICALLY fixed every problem ever in the history of guy-dom. Women, beautiful creatures yeah, needed to learn to use their feminine powers for good not even. There was only so much he could resist. And she KNEW it. Grumble.
Blink.
Woah, woah, woah. Did she just saw the "L" word in public? Ascanius' face drained of all colour. That was, ahem, fine for when it was just the two of them but saying it in public was cheap. It was like some stupid call for OH-LOOK-AT-ME-I'M-IN-A-RELATIONSHIP-STUFF. And when guys did it then it was SUPER pathetic. Pen was lucky she was a girl and it was adorable when she said it, but... he couldn't say it back. He wasn't going to.
Instead, the fourteen year old just cleared his throat and nodded when she pushed his face into a smile. Mmk, Pen. He was smiling. No need to manipulate the face. It was good looking enough as it was, yeah?
Some fresh air was good. And since it wasn't too cold yet, Peyton decided to bring her gargoyle out to the courtyard. Taking Giles out of his box she set him down and withdrew her wand. She wasn't sure as to what trick she wanted it to perform. There were just so many, but she wasn't sure if he could do them.
Well, it was time to put it to practice. "Piertotum Locomotor!" she said. "Do five front flips and four back flips."
The gargoyle's figure trembled, then it bent forward and flipped forward. Again. Again. Again. And again. Peyton watched with glee. She was waiting for it to do the backward flips she had instructed it to do, but the gargoyle just flinched and froze in spot.
Awwwwwww!
The fourteen year old picked up the gargoyle and put him back in its box. Maybe they both needed a larger place to move around.
Susan was happy that the girl didn't ask about her book anymore. She would have to be more careful about where she read it, she was just so excited to have the book she was being careless. She would not make that mistake again.

I have never seen a pink rat before and it's really interesting. Can I pet her?"
Sonea's smile widened and she shook her head, "no, she is not born pink, she had a ugly brown color when I first saw her, but I also knew that if I would made her pink that she would be very pretty!" Sonea looked lovingly down at her rat and smiled back at Susan. "I have ordered one of my maids at home to use a spell on Little princess, she will be always pink now!"
Sonea nodded to the girl, "you can pet her, but be careful, I think that she is sick because she is so fat lately and I don't know why... I haven't given her more food than usual..." Sonea sounded now worried but tried to hide her concern for the other girl, she hated it to look vulnerable, and especially in the presence from somebody she just knew for a few minutes.

She decided that she might as well bring out her ugly gargoyle out on the bright day. Probably the only work without cleaning anything. Too bad.
Maybe they had given the students the school gargoyles to teach them martial arts? Another budget cutter? Very bad.
Nonetheless, she took out her wand and tapped the gargoyle.
"PIERTOTUM LOCOMOTOR!"
The gargoyle buzzed to life. It just sat there, the big bundle, gazing at her.
"Uh..I'm supposed to say something right?" she asked that. NOD. NOD.
"Okay..let's see..." What tricks did she know? "We'll do somersault, shall we?"
The gargoyle still stared at her. What? Ah right.. "Um.. do me a somersault will you?" she asked, kindly. "Place your hands on the ground, go forward and try to flip" The gargoyle had already began the process.
It placed its...hands..and OH.OH. FLIP!
"GREAT!" she exclaimed, clapping and smiling. "One more, one more!"
You have bewitched me body and soul, And I love- I love- I love you
Quickly the blonde entered the courtyard, looking around she spotted exactly what she was looking for, daisies, well more importantly their root. she walked over to them and made quick work of pulling the flowers up by their roots and placed them into a container, she only had ten minutes left to get back to class.. Hurriedly she ran out of the courtyard back into the castle.
Sonea's smile widened and she shook her head, "no, she is not born pink, she had a ugly brown color when I first saw her, but I also knew that if I would made her pink that she would be very pretty!" Susan was surprised to find out she was brown before she was pink, the maid did a very good job. Though Susan was a little saddened by the fact that Sonea demanded one of her maids to do it for her. Susan had maids at home but she always asked politely whenever she wanted something. Her mother told her they were a part of the family and should be treated as such. "Yes, she does look very pretty pink. Could you change her color if you wanted to?"
Susan felt bad for Sonea when she said that Little Princess was sick. Susan couldn't imagine if her owl "Spells" ever got sick, she would be worried all the time. Something about the way Sonea was describing how she was sick seemed a little off. "I'm sorry she is sick, I wont pet her incase she doesn't like it. I don't want to make her feel worse." Susan didn't think Sonea would appreciate some random girl hurting her rat, even if it was an accident. "Has she been around any other rats lately?" Sue had an idea about why the rat was getting fatter but she needed more facts before she told Sonea.
To Gwen, the best place where to start a drawing was the Courtyard. For some reason, that place was inspiring her for the sketches. And this was why she had decided to spend some time there. Taking her sketchbook, the seventh year made her way to the Courtyard. With hasty steps, she headed towards one of the benches and took a seat. In the next moment, she started scribbling something on a blank page of the sketchbook.
Scribble. Scribble.
. . .
After a few minutes, she put the quill down in order to examine the drawing. Erm. Not good. It wasn’t that bad either, but Gwen didn’t like to go with ‘just fine’. No. A drawing had to look great. She ripped the page out of the sketchbook. Pft. She could just throw it away.

With a frown Sonea nodded to Susan, “yes, almost two weeks ago at the Diagon Alley I had almost lost Little princess, she saw a blue rat, the rat was probably from a boy, because blue is not a color for a girl… And Little princess had ran away from me! I was so afraid when that happened!” Sonea thought back about what had happened and shivered. “Little princess had run into Knockturn Alley! Luckily I wasn’t alone, Daichi, the prefect from my house ran behind me and he had helped me to catch Little princess!”
Sonea looked at her pink rat and felt angry again, she had been so scared when Little princess had ran away from her! Sonea had run into a dangerous place to catch her rat and she had been VERY dirty when she returned home, and she HATED dirt! Sonea had searched in a few trashcans, she had fallen a few times in the dirt, and that all for her rat! But… she couldn’t stay angry at Little princess, she just wanted to play with the other rat!
“I have asked the professor from the care of animal lesson to look at Little princess and I can see her today” Sonea was sure that the professor would have a answer and that she could help Little princess to get better.

Heh.
She did know how he felt about saying "I love you" in public - and for the most part, she agreed, because really, some people did run those words into the ground by saying it constantly instead of just showing it more often than saying it and could be really obnoxious and mushy about it, and she didn't want to be one of those people. But it was fine occasionally, and this was one of those occasions. It had mostly slipped out, but she hadn't said it yet today since right now was her first time seeing him, and there weren't many people around the courtyard at the moment either. So she didn't feel bad about saying or that he didn't say it back. Didn't need to be said every time. She knew.
He was smiling now anyway. Soooo, moving on.
Her hands returned to her lap, but the smile was still on her face. "So. Enjoying the day?"

And now he felt bad. Jeez. It wasn't that he didn't WANT to say it back, it was just that...yeah. Um, yeah it was awkward for reasons. SO he opted for just thinking it in his head and she would have to just trust him on feelings and stuff. Eight letters, three syllables... yeah? Yeah.
When she moved her hand over to her lap, Ascanius automatically moved his hand there and grabbed hers. It got a quick squeeze and his eyes stayed on their hands.
Hurrying back up to the castle, Kaiden kept his eyes out for more potions ingredients. I was still two short, and he was running out of time. Reaching the courtyard, he slowed down. There had to be something here right? There were lots of flowers, so he walked over to one, and cast the severing charm once more. So... now he had a flower... Upon closer inspection he figured it to be Foxglove... or something. And now, it was time to move on. He only had a few minutes left.

Awar took a seat on a bench, closing her eyes to intake of a breath of the outside air. She decided today was a good day to do some scholarly reading. Look out world! Here sits a scholar! Pulling out her Astronomy book, she lay on her back on the bench, her hair cascading over the edge and began to read about the wonders of the universe.

Ky was just strolling around the castle ground absentmindedly. His hands dangled carelessly by his sides as he walked. He HATED having nothing to do. He HATED having a boring life. It's not that his life is boring...it's just that...sometimes...he gets bored. And when Ky gets bored, he does weird, crazy stuff sometimes...
As Ky walked by the courtyard, he noticed a girl scribbling (or drawing?) intently in her notebook. After few seconds, she ripped off one of the pages and was about to throw it away...and that's when Ky comes into the play.
"Hey hey...no littering!" Ky came up to the girl and waved his finger at her...in a playful way, of course, flashing his smile as always.
where were they? She was only looking for candy and she knew the perfect people to get the sweets off of. Her Pain in the Neck, and his friend that she saw once on the train. What was his name? Alex or something?
Not important. What was important was that they had candy (most likely) and she needed some. Like now.
But she hadn't seen them. Well she's seen Alex or something in her classes, but she was trying to go through the year without getting in trouble, so she didn't talk to him. These idiots were like ghosts, and she was sick of it.
No really.
She was hungry and she wanted good tasting food, and if Nate's past behavior was any indication, he was going to have some sweets. And she was sure that if she gave him the puppy eyes and messed up her look a little, he would be forced to say yes.
And that was why she didn't brush her hair this morning and had her school clothes on weird. Not because she was trying to be a hobo (though that always seemed like an interesting career option) she was trying to get pity from Nate. But first, finding him. Or Alex something.
A habit of hers was to twirl her hair, and as she reached up to do so, she felt hairspray. Lots of hairspray. Gross. She had to find them soon, because she was going to need the shower of all showers to get her hair to normal. And even then.
With a frown Sonea nodded to Susan, “yes, almost two weeks ago at the Diagon Alley I had almost lost Little princess, she saw a blue rat, the rat was probably from a boy, because blue is not a color for a girl… And Little princess had ran away from me! Susan noticed Sonea was not happy when Little Princess ran away. She must really love her rat if she went into Knockturn alley to get her back. "Knockturn Alley?! Weren't you a little scared to go after her there?" Sue wasn't sure she would be able to go into Knockturn Alley, but if she thought about it she probably would if it was for Spells. "It's a good thing Little Princess has such a caring owner, and that you had someone to help you." Susan smiled at Sonea when she said this. Susan liked Sonea, she obviously had a deep love for her pet rat, and would probably do anything for Little Princess. Even something she didn't like doing.
When Sonea mentioned that CoMC professor was going to help her Susan decided to let her tell what was going on with Little Princess. Sue wasn't 100% sure and didn't want to tell Sonea something that wasn't true. Sue would feel really badly if something happened to Little Princess. "Well I'm sure the professor will know what is going on with her and tell you how to make her better."
Sue decided she wanted to play a prank really badly. She hadn't pulled a single prank yet this year. DJ would be horribly disappointed in her and she was getting antsy to pull one. Sue decided to test the waters with Sonea about her prank book. Sue put on a serious face and looked at Sonea. "So Sonea, are you opposed to maybe getting into a little trouble?" If she agreed then Sue would show her the book, but of she was not into it at all Sue would just drop the subject and put her book in her bokbag.
It was Hogsmeade weekend and Kaiden found himself in the Hogwarts courtyard. Waiting. Anxiously waiting for that blonde Ravenclaw girl. He had a pocket of coins and was walking around with his hands stuffed in his hoodies pouch, and occasionally rubbing the back of his neck.

Mikawasn’t a fan of the head-rubbing thing. Seriously it still made her think of lice even though she knew now it was because of nervousness. Still, she didn't understand why or how she made people nervous.
She just ran her hand through her hair and bit her lip as she glanced up at the boy standing there. She was about to wave when she noticed that nervous thing going on again. He needed to stop being nervous around her.
Skipping forward she just poked him on the back on the neck. "Hey you!"

Mika just let out one of her laughs – the nose crinkling laughs that she felt people made fun of. But she didn’t care, not today; she had just made her friend jump in the air in shock. “Aw, thanks and you remembered” she blushed as she smiled over to him. Her cheeks turning a bit red as she stood there with her dopey smile in place.
“Am I ready? No of course not! I don’t even know where we are going!” She eyed him cautiously like she wasn’t totally ripping a the seams to ask him where they were going. “Are we getting candy? Because candy is great and all but I did just buy a bunch of chocolate.” She beamed.
Before she did anything else, “wait, birthday thing…thanks for remembering” she beamed and gave him a quick and sudden hug. Just out of the blue, no warning or anything wrapped her arm around him before jumping back.

And are you hiding that book of yours because you are reading about something what is not allowed?”

Sophia marched out to the courtyard deep blue robes bellowing out behind her with a focused look on her face. She was a woman on a mission no doubt. As soon as she got to her destination she flicked her down from from her arm holster and stood wand at the ready then pointed to the largest shedding tree in the courtyard.
With a dramatic and complicated looking swish and twirl of her wand, the Transfiguration professor changed the leaves from orange and green to sparkling bright purple.
Much better. And now that her task was done, she made her way back to her office.

It wasn't raining, which was a good thing. After the rain the previous day that had Elise trapped in the castle without any decent Quidditch practicing, she planned on spending the WHOLE day out on the grounds if she could. But first, she was going to finish reading the book in her hands. It wasn't the first time she'd read it but once she picked anything Nicholas Sparks up, it was almost impossible to get her to put it down until she was almost done.
Settling into a bench that faced the fountain, she opened the book and started reading. Every minute or so, she'd flip a page, but she had no real idea of how long she had been sitting on that same bench and humming to herself. She didn't have classes or tryouts today, though. It was a Sunday.
“Of course i was afraid, but i would have been more afraid if i had lost Little princess there” said Sonea while she thought about the possibility to lose her rat. Susan smiled when Sonea said she would do anything for her rat. Sonea was scared but she still went after Little Princess. Yes Sonea was definitely a good owner. "Has Little Princess been behaving since then?" Sue guessed she probably was if she wasn't feeling well. "I hope she gets better soon."
Susan was busy trying to hide her book she didn't even notice what uniform she was wearing. Well Susan guess Sonea would probably be up for something a little dangerous but a ton of fun. Susan smiled to herself when she thought about it, she might have a new partner in crime. Sue slowly removed her arms from her book and showed Sonea.
