Yeah, so Ascanius saw the small giggle playing at her lips. Laugh it up, gorgeous. But she was NOT getting her name out him him, mmk? As a rule and such because if he went around and changed the rules for her he'd be doing it for everyone and, well, he couldn't be doing that. Smirk. It was part of his charm.

When she questioned him, he raised his eyebrow. Uh, yeah, walk him there, gorgeous. He was lost and now was NOT the time to be a-wandering. Mother Nature waited for no man. Pfft. It was dumb, but true. So he threw another smirk her way and waited for her to catch up and then THERE SHE WENT. Understanding and such.

Without waiting any longer, he followed her as she gestured down the corridor. He thought he could make it there without doing much chatting, but decided against it. Derry should have been honoured and stuff, "So, what's up, gorgeous?" On this fine day as she took him to the loo.

Look at her, like the pied piper of Hogwarts. Derry just about managed to stop herself from whistling (she didn't have a pipe, and she couldn't play one anyway... maybe she should get some bagpipes, since she was Scottish and all... hmm... she made a mental note to look into that.)

Anyway, pied piper and such. Except Ascanius was neither a rat, nor a child. And this wasn't Hamlin... hmm. To be honest this simile was getting more and more ridiculous the more she thought about it.

What's up? "Nothing much. Just been writing home. Went flying earlier." Derry shrugged a bit, no point talking about what she'd been writing, she was just checking up on her horse and whatnot. "What about you?" She got the feeling the boy would avoid flying when he didn't have to - he didn't seem to like it much. In fact Derry had no idea why he'd even tried out for the team... he wasn't bad though. "By the way, is there any girl you don't call gorgeous? 'Cause it kind of loses its effect if you use it too much." You know... for the record...

And there she went again. Looking all vague and stuff like she was seriously mulling something over. Jeez, she was kind of a puzzle, wasn't she? One that made him scratch his head and go huh? Then again, almost EVERY girl at this school did that. They were all so frustratingly off.

Oh, by the way, he still had to go to the bathroom, so could they hurry up? Else they'd be having a problem soon. Too much orange juice. Ahem.

Flying, eh, no thanks. Heights freaked him out majorly. Like a lot a lot. So he ignored that sort and said, "Miss home and stuff? And nothing much. Bathroom searching mostly." Yeah?

"I think every girl should be called beautiful or gorgeous. Most don't get reminded enough," Insert shrug here. Derry didn't need to agree with it or what he did or how he did it. 'Cause that was how he rolled and he would control to roll that way for a while, yeah? Why mess with a good, no great thing? Smirk. Exactly.

Miss home? Well... "Yeah. Miss my horses... and the food." And her parents. But horses were her main thing... she hadn't ridden in months and she missed it like mad. Flying wasn't the same - brooms couldn't love you like horses could. And they didn't have manes and personalities much. Psh... "They should give out a map to new students." she said, looking around the corridor. "The amount of times I got lost trying to find my way to lessons and stuff is ridiculous." Didn't help that she was constantly in dreamland either.

Hmmmmm... so that was his excuse. "Well..." she didn't really have a response for that. "What if they aren't beautiful or gorgeous?" Cause some of them really weren't. "Cause if you call someone beautiful who isn't, it makes it less effective for the people who are... I mean..." Frown. "That sounded meaner than it was supposed to." They came to the door of the bathroom and Derry gestured. "Here you go."

Laura looked up and saw Alexa. "Hi Alexa!!" Laura smiled. "Having a good day?" Laura really wanted Alexa to be cheerful and she wanted to spend time with everyone, she was just sooooooo happy. "I'm just thinking about if Dancing is very interesting." Laura giggled. "Obviously it's not as interesting as ice-cream." Laura thought it was awesome. "Expecially Ice-cream with chocolate in it, it is awesome." Laura couldn't wait to see what Alexa thought. "What do you think?"

"My day's been grand, thanks for asking!" GRIN. Since morning she'd had THREE bowls of ice-cream and she was contemplating a fourth if she could make it down all those stairs just to come back up for her homework. She'd probably just wait til she was done.

She eyed a dark violet bean curiously as she listened to the older girl. "I don't have much of an opinion on dancing. I don't hate it but I'm not crazy about it. It seems fun though. Do you dance?" The bean was looking less and less appealing by the minute but she had to eat it on the off chance that it was that one chocolate flavour that they put colouring on to trick people--oh ew, no, nail polish.

Lex forced it down so she could respond. "Everything's better with chocolate in it!! Ice-cream especially and it's super good when you have the whipped cream and the chocolate syrup!!" Nodnodnod. "Have you tried that lately?"

Oh, see, no. He didn't really care. Ugh, he had to get better at this whole asking people what was up with them out of courtesy and not getting them to answer business. It usually led to long, winded explanations about things he just didn't care about. Also, he didn't want to hear about how picturesque Derry's home was like...for reasons. Personal Ascanius reasons that made him not- whatever.

So instead of egging her on to continue he just nodded at everything she said and kept rocking his smirk. It was the jaw. Just made everything he did seven million more times alluring. Not his fault, yeah? And then he did decide to respond to her last little quip, "That would've help the transition astoundingly. You know?" Map of the whole school. Why hadn't anyone thought of it yet?

Um, did she really just say that? He stopped walking for a moment JUST to stare at her. That was...wow. Was she actually going forward and saying stuff like that? So Ascanius did what any normal human would do. He laughed.

And then BATHROOM! He just smirked over at her and said, "Gimme a minute to go. I gotta ask you about that, beautiful." Her ridiculous theory. Bwhahahha. And then he walked in.

Laura looked at Alexa and smiled. "That is awesome" Laura really wondered what Alexa has been doing. "So you been eating any ice-cream, I had ice-cream and pancakes for breakfast and it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!" Laura giggled she really couldn't wait to try it again. "The sugar rush I got from that was just perfect." Laura giggled, seriously she had loved it. "Want to come to the kitchens and we can make ourselves some?"

Laura smiled. "I dance a bit, have danced for awhile." Laura said truthfully. "And no I haven't." Laura thought it would be awesome to try though. "I put chocolate bits in some a couple of days ago though."

It was always nice to hear people talking about ice-cream and sugar. Those were her most favourite things in the entire world and they went great in any conversation. "That sounds epic!! Did you get anything done after you had that sugar rush? I'm at my most and least productive when I have one of those, depending on who you ask of course." And depending on what you called productive. Heh.

Interesting. "What kind of dancing? My cousin dances, Daddy takes me to some of her recitals when I ask." But Lex went to see her cousin, not the dancing. "And you HAVE to try it. It's the most legit thing you could do to ice-cream." Whipped cream and chocolate syrup. YUUUUP.

"The chocolate bits are good. I just eat those straight from the box."

Laura giggled. "Now that would depend on who asks, I would say I do a lot of my best work then but then you have my parents who think I don't." Laura sighed. "And if my sister knew what I had she would probably kill me but I would say I do my best work." Laura really thought she did.

"I can do the Irish Jig, and I can do what you class as pop dancing." Laura thought that was epic and that was were all her muggle friends for she was, as a school for dancing and music, since Laura was also good at the piano.

"I'll have to give that a try then." Laura smiled. "Why don't we go down to the kitchen and see what we can do with some Ice-cream?" Laura thought it would be awesome if they did something cool.

Oooo, someone else who realized that the best work was always done when sugar was involved. Pity the girl's parents didn't see it that way. Lex made a face at it. "Parents are programmed to think that sugar's bad for you. It's like a thing with them. Have you tried ignoring them until they give in?" It worked well enough with her father. He accepted her candy for what it was and they had no arguments.

Er..."The Irish Jig? I don't think I've ever seen that one before. Where'd you learn it." Pop, she'd heard of before, might have seen it too but really she couldn't tell most dances a part so she just nodded and tried another bean. Broccoli. Interesting.

"I can't." Lex said, now putting on the bravest face ever. "I've got a lot of homework and I don't want to walk all the way down to the kitchen because I'll have to come right back up to get it done. Besides, ice-cream makes it hard to focus on essays." She should know. They usually ended up not getting done.

Laura looked at Alexa and giggled. "Oh Well, more for me then." Laura loved having the common room so close to the kitchen, it meant she didn't have as far to go and it was easier for her to get to places.

"I learnt it when I was at primary school." Laura smiled. "We had dance classes everything Thursday after school, with different dances." Laura then had an awesome idea. "I have some Ice-cream posters, we should put them up, seriously we have to get more people into Ice-cream." Laura bounced up and down, she was on a sugar rush again. "Want to help?"

Yeah, more for her, for now. Later Lex would head down to the kitchen for some ice-cream and she would consider taking her Kneazle if he promised not knock away her bowl like last time.

"Ohhh, interesting. I didn't bother with dancing in Primary School, couldn't stand half the girls in that class." They all gushed about the worst of things and whined too much. No thank you. Lex listened to the idea and slowly began bouncing. "Brilliant! Mhm!! I can help! Ice-cream posters! Where'd you get them??" Actually, she didn't care. The point was, they had the. "Everyone will see them and head to the kitchen!!"

This was actually a good idea.

Transition? Ha. "Yeah I dunno about that, coming from homeschooling and muggle high school to this is just..." Derry shrugged. "I was expecting a little more... pazazz." Derry popped her hands with that word and shrugged a bit. "You'd think a school with so many rich kids would be able to raise enough money to not make us pay for stuff." Because Derry didn't have any money. And even though she hated borrowing it, she was actually starting to think she'd have to keep borrowing to the point she wouldn't be able to give it back. "Maybe we should map it out for future reference, sell the maps to newer students next year... could help pay for the whole eating thing."

Wait, what? What had she done? Was it really that strange a question? She was just curious. Personally, if she was called gorgeous by the same person who could call a female troll - for want of a better example - gorgeous, then she'd probably not really care. In fact, she might even be offended. Not that she thought she was particularly pretty, but she liked to believe she was at least better looking than... no Derry, stop thinking mean things about people.

And then he disappeared into the bathroom. Oh. Derry was actually planning on going to the Library or something, but it'd be rude to just disappear, probably, so she waited outside and unwrapped her parcel.

Laura looked at Alexa and smiled. "Well you missed out on a lot of fun." Laura sighed, she had always thought that Alexa was strange but at the minute she was actually sounding cool, except she didn't like the fact that Alexa missed out on dancing because of some of the girls in the class.

"I got my mother to buy them for me and send them to me." Laura giggled, "So we could put them up somewhere nice, seriously everyone should eat more ice-cream." Laura really thought that it would be awesome to put them somewhere. "Where should we put them?"

"I don't think I missed out on all that much. I found better ways of occupying my time, my neighbour's didn't approve but my best friends and I had a blast." Chopping about at the neighbour's hedges, playing on roofs, riding bikes and hurling rotten fruit, those were ways of having fun. Not sitting up in some stuffy dance studio with girls that spoke with the noses in the air.

She had to admit, she didn't figure Laura for the type to like something that required so much discipline. Eh. She learned something new everyday.

"Where'd she get them? I might ask Daddy to get one and put it up in my room for me." Then she could see ice-cream all the time. But for now, putting them up. "Brilliant idea Laura--" Did she really such say that? It must have been the sugar talking. "Where do you think we could post them first--maybe our Common Rooms? Everyone goes there at some point."

In an attempt to find another good spot inside the castle to see the stars, Asher wandered into the sixth floor corridor. Glancing around, he saw a small window towards the end that he thought would work just fine. His arrival to the window proved he was correct. He began scanning the sky, seeing several stars and, taking note of how bright they were, he was able to narrow down the field quickly.

It only took him a few moments to identify Polaris, he was starting to get quite good at it by now, and he noted the location on his parchment.

So, keeping up with laziness, Forrest simply went down the next floor downstairs and headed to the closest window again. He was trying to focus, see? And he was being CLEVER. Let the others head down seven floors and then climb it back AGAIN. He was sticking to indoors and spending as less energy as possible.

HA!

Yes. Focusing.

So he looked up once more and readied the se--something as if it was a weapon. He closed one eye, raised the toy to his open eye as if he was taking aim and acted slooooowly like agents did in the movies. Breaaaathe in, breaaathe out, slooowly survey the sky--ursa minor, ursa major, "I've found it, copy." He paused momentarily as if listening to the earpiece (his other hand was pressing on his ear). "Clear to shoot, sir." He waired a few more seconds. "Okay, I'm shooting."

Where was the first place to go?

The red head walked down the flights of stairs searching for any sort of window. If possible she wanted to stay as much inside as she could as well as walk as little as she could, but considering Hogwarts finding windows wouldn't be every three steps...it would be more than that and she she began walking. Walking, walking and walking till she spotted a window.

Location one spotted then.

Quietly Renesmee walked on closer and wasn't too surprised to see she wasn't the only one there, but hey nothing wrong with that. She needed to keep an eye out on the youngsters anyways.

BUT Polaris. That was what she needed to focus on, so out the window she looked once again looking for three main things. Ursa major, Ursa Minor and Cassiopeia. It didn't take her too long before she saw the two kite looking shapes and right at the tail of the second one she spotted Polaris.

Step one complete.

"Bam bam bam!" Forrest imitated the sound of a weapon as he took a half-step backwards alongside the bams--but he sensed someone close by and he peeked sideways. Oh oh oh oh. It was the Head Girl! Forrest flushed scarlet--how much had she heard?--and fumbled with the thing in his hands. It fell on the ground with a loud BAM--see, he had got a genuine bam!--and it only caused him to flush further. Who would have thought he was capable of matching Gryffindor's red?

He peeked at her again while bending down to pick up the thing. He flashed her a very insecure smile and picked it up.

Hehe. NO. Ahem.

So he had missed the Polaris. He looked up again, but this time it took him much less time because he had found it earlier, and pointed the thing on the horizon. Pressing his finger on the clamp, he released the index bar--should he peek at her again?--and got Polaris as his reference point. He lowered the thing careeeefuuuully not to drop it again and read the angle: 100°. No no, it couldn't be over--oh, 10°. Letting out a sigh of relief, he did the math quickly.

90°-10°=80°

After jotting it down, he headed towards the stairs again.

Asher pulled out his Sextant and started lining things up. He was at a much different angle than the other places he had been at in the castle. Asher held up his Sextant and calculated the angles.

"Hmm, that doesn't sound quite right. Maybe I did that one wrong." He held out his Sextant once again to check his calculations. After confirming the same answer, he figured it had to be correct.

'Bam, bam,bam'?

Blink. Blink. Was somebody singing or something?

Um....weird..but she needed to focus, so no looking where it came from. Polaris. That was her focus as well as getting her sextant to her eye so that she could see through it. That focus didn't last very long though.

BAM! The eighteen year old jumped from fright.That one didn't sound like an actual voice. Which was why she stopped what she had been doing and instead looked around for the source of the noise and tinkling.

A kiddo. An ADORABLE kiddo with ADORABLE CHEEKS! Could she pinch them? They were even red and just Merlin! This kiddo!

Deciding to rather NOT startle the poor kiddo, Ness returned his smile. What she really wanted to do though was run up to the kid and squish him..like in a glomp tackle. He just looked so squishable and nunukins and she didn't know why but she wanted to keep him.

ANYWAYS! Polaris and stars and measuring. she needed to get back to focusing on that. So one last nod and smile for the kiddo then just like him she looked back at the sky spotting Polaris where she had seen it before. She grabbed her sextant, placed it to her eye and released the clamp till Polaris was at her horizon. Next she pressed the clamp and read off her degrees.

Twenty Five. Scribbles down for that. As well as scribbles of the number Sixty Five which was the number she had worked out. But they didn't need to do that? Or did they? She would play it safe.

Laura looked at Alexa and smiled. "I found a lot of time to have loads of fun." Laura giggled it was loads of fun and she had loved it but now was the time she grew up which is what she was going to do and she had started to do.

"She got them from a friend who owns an ice-cream store." Laura smiled. "I can get you some if you want?" Laura would if Alexa wanted some. "Okay then, I was think Common Room or maybe even the Entrance Hall." Laura thought it was brilliant that Alexa wanted to join in with this idea.

Jake was on a walk. With the girlfriend. Through the castle. Because... there was really nothing else that they could do at the moment. This was fine, though. They were holding hands as they walked, and Jake was humming quietly to himself.

Once they reached the empty corridor, though, Jake stopped. It was... empty. So he pulled Anya into him and gave her a kiss. Mostly just because he could.

Anya was sooooo ready for the term to be over. Why? Because there was literally nothing to do. Well... minus homework and those OWLs she should be studying for. But. Pfft. Why do that when she had a perfectly good boyfriend to occupy her time.

Speaking of the boyfriend. Why did he stop...?

Oh. That was why. That was completely fine with the Gryffindor. She happily kissed him back before ending the kiss and leaning against the wall.

"Ready for term to be over?" Because she was.
