She was here, okay, she was here and present and ready because there was going to be a professional quidditch player talking, and well, Ariana had NO intention of going pro, let's face it, she wasn't the fast snitch on the field alright, but she was stil interested, so she would attend.. "Helllllo Mr......"that wasn't a mr.. well there was a mr. but it was a professor mr. and not a mr. mr.." uhm. hello professors." and a head nod to them "headmistress." hello. no quidditch dude. this was sad. she was kinda looking forward to it. Choosing a cushion she sat down, oh look Odessa on her left, HAI ODESSA.

Kace was interested in going to see the professional quidditch player coming to talk to the school. As he made his way to the room, he noticed the sign said CANCELLED...? Hmmm....i guess he couldn't show up. Kace was disappointed. He wanted to get good tips from a pro. Ah well, he still went inside the classroom since he saw other students in the room.

As he opened the door, he noticed the headmistress and other professors. Kace smiled and waved to all of them. He could barely preform any words being in front of officials. He sat down with the others and was waiting to see what they had in store.

James, for one, felt for the students. As each one entered with expressions of utmost disappointment, she wished she could have called in some kind of legitimate Quidditch celebrity favor for them. Even if that meant a few retired Arrows players from years ago to show up at the end as an extra consolation for showing up. But... there was business ahead. Still, once most of the students seemed to have settled in, she took the liberty to apologize as... she was likely the most apologetic of them all, really.

"Good day, students," she began reluctantly, uncrossing her arms to address them with sincerity. "It is with deep regret that I must say Quidditch star Colin Mackenzie of the Montrose Magpies unfortunately could not be here with us today," obviously, "for which we are immensely apologetic, but you won't go without a special treat!"

Maybe that was a little bit of a stretch.

"Today, we," she gestured to her fellow staff, "will be conducting a seminar on safety - what to do in potentially life-threatening situations, such as coming face-to-face with a dangerous creature, or what to do if confronted by a thieving goblin, and so on. To get an idea of what you may already know and what we might need to work on, we're going to start off with a little bit of a game." Or... sort of a game. Picking up a box of red and green circular objects, she explained, "I'll be coming around to distribute two buzzers, one green and one red to each of you - the staff will ask a series of questions to which you will either agree - indicated by the green buzzer - or disagree, the red one." As she delivered the buzzers to the students, she glanced back at her fellow staff members to take over.

She wasn't going to be the one to say what would happen if they answered incorrectly.

Ohhhh, so that explained why the man with the pretty face at red all over his posters. Cancelled. That was mean. AT LEAST SHE STILL HAD ICE-CREAM!! This was fiiiiiine. Her world was complete because of the sweet treat in her hands and all the lovely people around her. Today was too nice a day to let something like that ruin it.

A seminar on safety and goblins that stole stuff. Pfffffffft. She already KNEW what to do then. Grab the sack of whatever they stole and RUN, forget the sword unless you have back up, don't aim the wand at it, it'll block the attack and you get nothing. Bummer really. She already knew how to be safe--

TREAT! TREAT! TREAT!!!!

Oooooooooooooo and they got neat buzzers!!!! Eeeeeep!!! This was like some extreme trivia where you PUSH. THA. BUTTOOOON!!! She grinned up at Professor James as she had a pair handed to her. "Do you have any in blue Professor...or could I maybe transfigure one blue? That wouldn't be a problem would it?"

It was just a colour--to them.

Siiiiiiiiiiiiigh. West continued moping in silence though he managed a quick smile at Ari when she sat with him. He was SO dejected about this whole thing that he hadn't even gone to sit with his best friends. And even the perfectly good view and angle of one particular person from where he was sitting wasn't even enough to snap him out of it.


.... the buttons were probably going to electrocute them if they were wrong. Sighhh.

Ah. Dylan. Jake expected him to come.

He nodded in reply to the Slytherin and leaned back on his hands. At least he didn't have to be disappointed alone, right? He and Dylan could complain about the lack of famous athlete when the seminar was over.

Which would hopefully not be too long. Because apparently it wasn't even a Quidditch seminar anymore? It was safety. And really, what kind of Gryffindor cared about safety enough to go to an extra class on it?

Still, he smiled and thanked Professor James as she handed him his set of buzzers. Wooo. Funnn. Buttonssss.

Safety lessons. Did they really think that was good replacement for Quidditch seminars? Really?

Alice didn't even notice looks from Dora or dejected sighs from certain people or the sour looks Mo was probably giving her for squishing between him and her best. She didn't need a safety lesson. What made the professors think she needed safety? Gryffindor here. They didn't do that safety stuff, nope.

Colin MacKenzie though. He would have been so much better.

A game! Cool! This sort of made up for the guy being absent, yeah? Anyway, Jory couldn't wait for the game to get started! He collected the green and red buttons. "Thanks, Professor,'' he said.

So, could they get started now? Games rule!

Bored. And this was not making it any better. Nigel would rather listen to the Magpie talk than this. So, since he was bored. Why not just disagree to all the question and see how many he got right. It was an experiment and bad things happened when Nigel gets bored. Like blowing things up at the Lake at seven in the morning.

So. Yeah. Disagree to all questions. Sounded good right now.

... Yes, it is unfortunate. She wanted to have a seminar with a Quidditch star, and not play a small game with buzzers. Sighs. Oh well, guess not everyone could get what they want. Kat took the two buzzers from Professor James with a nod. Yeah, she knew that she was supposed to be polite and respectful. There were three Professors in front, and accompanied by no other than the Headmistress.

So... she had her buzzers. Waiting for the so-called game now, that was what the Prefect was doing. Also... she was keeping an eye on her Slytherins. Because that was kinda necessary. Kat understood why West was acting like that. It was a bit disappointing, having to wait for WEEKS to see a professional Quidditch player but realising that it wouldn't push through. Sad.

And more waiting.

Mo did not give Alice sour looks when she shoved him over and crammed herself into his seat. In fact, he didn't look at her at all as he picked up his cushion and moved back to sit with Nigel. There was no reasoning with unreasonable behavior. Or just plain bad behavior. Whichever.

As Professor James handed out the two buzzers, he carefully set his down on the cushion in front of him. This seemed... like one of those things that he'd like to overanalyze and figure out how it works, but that in reality he should just accept. Do not test the limits of the buzzers. Do not do it.

Bunz waited silently as Erin handed out the buzzers. The students were disappointed in the change of seminar, understandably so, but so was SHE. Hello, everyone knew the Hot Scot had the hots for her. They had even played together, on the same pitch back when she had taught Herbology here.

Being poor sucked.

But anyway, it would look unprofessional if she sat there sulking as much as some people. So she straightened herself up and crossed toward the frontline of students. She gave Erin a polite nod of thanks for getting them started, and cleared her throat.

"As Professor James explained, the buttons are colored for a reason." Yes Alexa Cambridge we ARE LOOKING AT YOU. "Please take these questions seriously. You'll see why shortly. Once a majority of you have answered, we'll discuss the correct response and move on to another statement."

Paaaaaause. "You may volunteer an explanation for whichever button you press, but it's not necessary. Now, your first statement:

'If I were to find an armed creature attacking my school, I should calmly inform the nearest adult of the situation.'"

The redhead swept her steely gaze across the assembled students, fighting the urge to start grinning evilly for some reason. "Push your buttons, children, go on now," she said instead, quite, quite sweetly. "Green if you agree, red if you disagree."

Lex looked over at the Headmistress. "So then...no blue?" She paused to think about that then grinned over at her. "That's fine, my bowl of ice-cream is still blue so I don't think I'll mind much." And an even WIDER grin was offered before she shoveled a spoonful into her mouth. This was good stuff.

She began rocking back and forth on her cushion, feeling just a little restless. No quidditch talk but safety. The idea was still odd to her but she listened to the first statement.

What in Merlin's beard??? NOOOOOO! NO no no no NO NO NO! NO! Who's dumb idea was that? She balled her hand into a fist and slammed down on the RED. Heheehhee, this was fun. "It might not be dangerous, what if he's just lost and wants some ice-cream? We have more than enough to share. The weapon might have been his birthday gift that he was willing to trade for our delicious treat. We won't know if we jump to conclusions and call in the joy-killers." Besides, the moment you alerted an adult, you stood to lose whatever valuables you could have lifted.

And another thing. When would you get time to CALMLY go find an adult?? They were the hardest things to find when you weren't in trouble and actually needed them. Press. Press. Press. Press. Was there a rule against how many times one could press these. Press. Press. Press. Press. GIGGLE.

Holding the buttons in her hand Zoe stared at them. The green button was disagree, and red agree...? Wait no that didn't sound right! Wait oh merlin there was a question already! Would she go find a professor right away? Well....no because wouldn't she want to make sure that anyone nearby was safe from the monster thingy that had appeared? She'd put up a protego shield charm right? Then make sure that help was found?

Yeah that sounded right. But then if she answered like that the headmistress might get irritated! Chewing on her lip she wasn't sure what she should answer! The right thing would be to agree right?

Wait she wasn't Gryffindor, she was Slytherin! So of course she'd go find help!

So back to the button thing, green was no....right? Hitting the red button she beamed at the headmistress. She really should have been paying attention more when the headmistress explained it once again....

Nigel nodded to Mo before listening to the first question. Red. Disagree. Would the armed creature give you the time to summon an adult if it was smart. Headmistress TrueBridge did not say it was a dumb creature.

"The Armed Creature would not give you the time to calmly summon an adult if it was smart and you did not say it was dumb."

Though she did not say it was smart either. But Nigel was disagreeing to all answers. So this suited his argument.

Nigel pressed the red button. The first of many presses.

Sigh. A lecture. On safety. Which she didn't need, seeing as her aunt gave her one every time she snuck out of the house. One time, the woman had even called in some of her coworkers from the MLE to give her the lecture. Needless to say, this was one snake who was full up on safety knowledge. Umm hmm. Sky's hand came down on her green buzzer with a flourish. And no explanation needed, so she just sat there, shaking her head at those that had hit the red button.

Nigel pushed the red button, so Mo pushed green. Easy as that. And did he really have to explain himself? It didn't seem like everyone else was... oh, no. They were all explaining themselves.

He sighed the heavy sigh of the martyr. "Unless you're alone and in absolute danger in the moment, seeking out assistance from a professional is safest."

The logical answer to this all was that yes, if Tag were faced with an armed creature he should try to get the help of a adult or professor. Paying close attention Tag looked down at his green and red button. Well, what if he himself couldn't actually find a teacher without putting himself in danger and exposing himself to the creature. "Well, yes, you should find the assistance of an adult. But, if there are none near you, what I would do is at least get two of my classmates, or anyone else nearby. One would stay with me just so I can have a backup if something went bad. And the other classmate can find an adult." Like a buddy system and a rescue mission, yes?

So, very carefully Tag pushed his finger upon the green button. There!

Mika had been quiet the entire time - and kind of awkwardly sitting on her own. So when she had received the buzzer she quickly stood up and shifted to sit a little closer to Alexa...seeing as things were less awkward over there. You know, she didn't want to be alone during this.

So when the question came she was just barely moving to the seat and plopping down.

Looking around she placed her fingers above both the red and green buttons and pressed. What she was serious. Both answers could fit.

"I'd say if you weren't able to get to a Professor or adult Wizard first help others and try to protect people...and still if you were able to then you should get to a Professor or adult before attacking said Armed creature."

There were lots of things Alice was doing. 1) Imagining what Colin MacKenzie would be doing if he was holding this seminar (obviously not talking about armed creatures. Obviously) 2) Wondering why Mo suddenly hated her with ever fiber of his being and thought sitting by her was an AWFUL idea when snogging her was his favorite past time seven months ago 3) Not listening to the Headmistress. So, naturally, she had absolutely no idea what was going on. Question? What question?

Not bothering to think of an answer, she immediately began surveying the buzzers. Hmm.. what did they do? Which was the wrong answer and which was the right one?

She wanted to know what ALL THE BUTTONS did.

Alice considered her options for a moment and then pushed down hard on both of them.

What happened now?

Staying quiet, West simply pressed the green buzzer.

He didn't bother justifying his response, what was the point? Quidditch was life, this was just about pesky Goblins.

Looking around Nerida placed both of her hands above both the red and green buttons and pressed down. Both answers could fit. Getting an adult would be the most logical and right thing to do but Professors or adults were always hard to find during a dangerous situation, you could call out or if you were skilled enough handle the situation yourself. She knew if her godmother was here she would freak about her pressing the red button and would probably drag her to some of her MLE friends, yeah she would get in trouble. Though she had pressed the green one too.

Dora shot Alice a look. See what happened when you were rude to a Mo? He left. That was all her fault for being extra sulky and not remembering that he was sensitive and all.

Without giving an explanation, because really she just didn't care and wanted to get to a more exciting activity, she pushed the green buzzer, waiting for something to happen. To Alice, not herself. What happened when you pressed BOTH buzzers at the same time?

Kat didn't require thinking at the moment. As Headmistress Truebridge asked the question, the Prefect pressed the green button. No comment after that. The other though... well, yeah they were doing stuff. Kat tried to ignore that, but she felt as if something was going to happen if they pressed both or the wrong button.

Oh snap, she just DIDN'T wanna know at all. And they weren't really required to make an explanation right? Yeah, she'll just do that. Keep quiet and wait for stuff to happen. 'Tis all.

Regardless of explanation... the button glowed RED and then, ZAP!'d her hand.

ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! Every single time. ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP!

...

Any more?

The ZAP! to her hand wasn't nearly as nice as how the button glowed RED.

Ohhh, so close. That had to hurt.

Outsmarting the question wouldn't work. ZAP! Right up the lad's hand. Was the pretty RED glow of the button worth it?

It was incredibly unfortunate that their previous plans for today's seminar had to be cancelled. Simply awful! Even more so that she couldn't make a quick trip to the kitchens for some ice cream before the seminar started. She hadn't had any in like...A DAY! She was becoming fidgety!

Twitch. Oh, a zap. Twitch. Another zap. Twitch. GOODNESS why were the students pressing red?? That Alexa Cambridge...

"Don't think too far into the question, you guys!" she spoke up suddenly before recoiling slightly and clearing her throat quietly with a glance to the Headmistress. Ahem. "The correct answer is, if you find an armed creature attacking the school, you are to calmly find the nearest professor. I know ve all vont to defend our classmates and save the day, however... ve can't very vell keep everyone safe ven you're all running tovards danger. You do not engage vith the creature...unless absolutely inevitably necessary to escape. You find a professor and then stay in your common room unless stated othervise. There's no "but"'s vith this."

They got that, right? Fidget. "Alright, let's try a simpler statement:

"When in a stressful situation, it will help if I scream. Loudly. And repeatedly."

Finger twitch. "Remember. Green to agree, and red to disagree." Just so they knew. Again.
