Seating and Viewing Area

http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/...ps00ae8bec.gif
Stepping outside into the school grounds the night is dark and the wind whistling is the only sound you hear. The cold breeze does not help much either, better keep warm and close as you walk along a path lighten dimly with fire torches. It is likely you may feel spooked, but fear not, soon you will reach your destination. After walking for a few minutes, you begin to see more than just the forest borders and the surrounding grass. Even though the light is to a minimum, you are still able to see what is before you.

To your right there are round tables with numerous chairs at each. There is a buffet table that unlike the rest of the tables is long and rectangle as well as filled with various baked goods to choose from which includes scary looking foods such as mud cups, assorted creepy cupcakes, finger biscuits and jello brains. Eat them if you dare, but do remember this food comes at a price. If you do not pay the jar in the center table 5 sickles, you cannot retrieve any food as it will literally be as if it has been glued to the table. So please pay, we do not ask of too much. Right beside these tables you see an open area of grass that has been filled with sitting stands. This is for you to observe the obstacle participants as they attempt their fearlessness at various stations. You are welcome to grab a seat and cheer your mates on.

The obstacle course, that is on the left across from the seating and viewing area, has four different stations; The Bertie Botts Challenge, The Cockroach Cluster Race, The Chocolate Frog Surprise Pie and The Glue-on-Goo. Each just as exciting as the other and they will each test your fear in various different ways. Of course these too are not for free. At each station there is a turnstile that charges you 2 sickles to play, but if you are wise you will notice that there is a fifth turnstile at the entrance to the obstacle course that is for the course as a whole, as well as it charges 7 sickles for all four obstacles rather than 2 per station.

Are you brave enough to take the challenge or are you here to just watch? Whatever you choose, stay fearless and do enjoy.

For Anyone and Their Face :3

This was... kind of cool. He was gonna give them all that, not that it was apparent on his face or anything. Pfft, no on the outside he was totally cool and handsome as per usual. But the whole spooky business and the fact that it was at night kind of rocked. A little. Ahem.

Anyway, tugging on his jacket, Ascanius made his way down to a seat at a round table. He wasn't going to be eating any of the food or partaking in probably any of the events, 'cause money, but he was going to LOVE watching his peers try. Mostly fail. There was that.

So the fourth year settled in and waited. And watched.

oh its Erik ok 07-03-2013 02:21 PM

Nigel felt more like watching the events happen. Than acutely participating in them. Food. Food is what he wanted now. He walked on over to the viewing area and spotted Ascanius there. Great all he want to do was eat and watch.

Nigel walked on by him. Gave him the you are awesome nod and went to put the 5 sickles in the jar. Now what to eat. Nigel put one creepy cupcake on his plate and turned around to watch the The Glue-on-Goo and who would be "brave" enough to do it. Nigel was dressed way to nicely to participate. But will be fun to watch and laugh at.

You know who you aaaare~

Dressed in all black. Daichi made his way to the event that the Prefects had set up. He felt horrible. Because he had been lacking with helping with this event but that was not all.

He also felt horrible because he had dared Dylan for a duel. What on earth had possessed him to challenge HIM?! Running a hand through his hair, the Slytherin sat down at one of the tables with a worried expression. True, he had big talk against the Captain but to be honest he was actually very nervous. He kept biting his lower lip and trying to style his hair with his fingers. Two signs the Prefect always made whenever he was feeling nervous.

Maybe he could cheat to win? ...no...no that wouldn't be fair and it would only make him a bigger loser. Giving the jar 5 sickles, he then grabbed cupcake and took a bite while deep in thought.

And again, this place lacked ice cream!

Kirby Darling was just here to watch. Yep. She had no intention what so ever to take part in this .... thing. Not yet anywaay. Pulling her jacket closer to herself, the girl made her way to the grounds.

Ooo, there was food and everything. Clearly the prefects went all out. Kirby was fan of good entertainment and she did not mind applauding for those who worked so hard to get it done for her.

It was pretty spooky - not really keen on being there alone, she snagged a seat right away, next to a boy - not caring whoo it was. It was hard making out his face, in the dark - unless he would look directly at her. "Hello," so she said, curious to see his face.

Prefects' choice, it's that time of the year again, huh. But this time, it's got a little twist. It's not Halloween--- Halloween passed like a couple of months ago but for some reasons, the prefects had decided to go with a scary approach for this term. Juliet is liking it so far.

She didn't know what will happen but she's really eager to find out what kind of activities are there. So she got dressed and quickly made her way outside. it was dark but she made her way pretty fine. Upon reaching the place. There were torches and other fancy stuff. Food was there and of course the paying booth.

She took out 5 sickles and placed them into the jar and her hand quickly grabbed the cupcake. Taking a bite from it, she made her way inside. Whoah! What is going to happen? She's getting excited and anticipating a lot. Nearly bumping into someone, Juliet managed to see where she was walking towards. "Daichi!" her tone was gleeful, "I'm so excited with this. I'm liking this event." even though she barely stayed for 5 minutes. It's spooky but fun, who doesn't like that? She did eye him from head to toe. "What's up with the black outfit?" she nudge him.

Hurrying out to the Fright Fest area, Asher was very excited to be involved in the event. He couldn't wait to try out some of the challenges and test his abilities. "Oh, food!" He exclaimed when he saw the various treats. Placing his money in the jar, Asher took some jello brains and a few creepy cupcakes.

for anyone :3

Was she the first professor out here? Ivy glanced around and tried not to get run over by children as she looked around for anyone older than seventeen. No such luck just yet.

Ivy took a look over at the suspicious food. It looked... suspicious. And gross. She supposed it went with the Fright Fest theme, but she wouldn't be having any. So... time to have fun?

StarShine 07-03-2013 07:05 PM

Anyone? ^__^

Fire torches. Cold. The very word 'fright' written everywhere. Dark.

The WORSTESTEST combination ever.

But still, because it was where it was at, Forrest decided to go. Such moments were rare, after all, and he was more curious than frightened. It was a prefect event, after all, no? Just what could happen?..

He shivered on the road and it wasn't only because of the cold weather, but he kept following the torches nevertheless and arrived at the... place. Event. Thing. Whatever. Before anything though, his eyes fell on FOOOOD and "Foooood!" he gasped as he started walking more quickly. Well okay they looked creepy, but they had to try harder to disgust him. So, without even glancing around, he fished 5 sickles and just threw it to the paying thing, and in about five seconds he was already holding that spider-shaped cupcake.

Mhmm. "MHMMMM," he appreciated the taste after the first bite, eyes closed, and wondered whether he could stuff it into his mouth at once.

MuggleDinosaur 07-03-2013 09:09 PM

Free to anyone.

Sphallolalia; a flirtatious talk that leads nowhere.

Hmm. Yes. Nashville checked in his tweed jacket to make sure that he had some money because he of course need food....like now...his stomach rumbled loudly and he just walked where he was suppose to go. This was it. this was right. Now how much did he have to pay? Five sickles. Good he still had his money from his grandparents. That should last him maybe to the end of the year. Now where did he have to put his money?

Nashville was dressed as the Eleventh Doctor. This would be a test to see if anyone besides Mika knew who and what he was. He was missing one thing though, the TARDIS! There were differences of course, he was to tan to be Eleven and he was as awesome as Eleven. So there HE WAS LACKING A COMPANION TOO!! Oh no, no, no, no, no. AND THERE WAS NO RIVER SONG HER EITHER. Poooop.

Now where did he have to put his money?

itsjustjesse 07-03-2013 10:31 PM

FORREST...*hugs*..."The Doctor" and Kaiden / Anyone. ;)

The not-so-creepily (infact adorably) dressed Mika had added the five sickles into the container and looked around at everyone. She sent Forrest a BIG smile, because he looked a little nervous. Or scared, she couldn’t tell which but she was glad to see the little Hufflepuff there. She did smile when she heard him outwardly express his pleasure in whatever he was eating.

Oh god…wa-was that a spider. Spiders weren’t food. Why were the cupcakes shaped like Spiders? Her eyes widened as she stood there and she made a slight gurgling noise of someone gulping back their fear.

“No no no no no no no not cool” she muttered and shook her head as she glanced at the cupcake. “a-are they g-good…d-do they t-taste like spiders she asked the fear causing her to ask. Seriously why would they make a spider-flavored cupcake?

When she glanced up however she spotted Pie-boy...wearing. "THE DOCTOR?" she squeaked out and pointed. She was pointing. Pointing wasn't nice. Looking around and pretending she hadn't just yelled at Nash she just grabbed a spider cupcake and well...poked her fork into it. "Die spider...DIE! So I can eat you." GRIN she was going to eat her fear.

And wait...was she shaking?

Maybe he could *accidentally* drop an ice cream on the ground in front of the door of the dueling arena so that Dylan would fall and ...and can't continue the fight. Argh, why did he even challenge him!? stupid stupid stupid! But Daichi wasn't someone to back down either...so he had to go through it but...HOW did you defeat someone who was clearly better in magic than you?!

Tapping his finger against the table, the Slytherin turned his gaze towards his shoulder when he felt a small push and his eyes then went to ...Juliet. A true , genuine smile became visible. She was about the only Slytherin that still talked to him. Well, there was also Sonea but she was twelve... He meant students around his age. "Hey Juliet, long time no see" apart from classes he hadn't really spoken to her.

Oh? she liked the event. Good good. He didn't say he had been a slacker to help make this event though. Funny how he and Oakey had been the main source of the event and now ..nothing. "Yeah, they did a great job..i only miss the ice cream" he commented as he looked around.

His black outfit? Daichi looked down at his clothes and blushed slightly. "I..well, i thought that..you know...since its called Fright Fest..and its dark..and...i don't know, do i look stupid?" Gaaaaah worries!

The Prefects were holding a Fright Fest event! Michael was so there! He was brave and stupid daring. Why else would the sorting hat put him in Gryffindor?

The activities that he had read about sounded awesome but before participating in them, Mikey decided to grab some food first so that he could build up his energy, in order to get through all the obstacles.

He spotted the table containing the food and made a beeline for it, but in his great haste to get some food, he barrelled straight into the person that was already standing there.

AlwaysSnapesGirl 07-04-2013 12:41 AM

anyone? :3

Yeah, this was pretty cool. Penelope actually kinda liked this. She wasn't sure how anyone found this scary or frightening - she was a Gryffindor, they'd need to do way better (or worse?) than all this to really scare her - but it was pretty creepy, she would give them that.

She wasn't too thrilled about paying to eat, but she gave them their sickles, mostly just because Atticus had, without her even asking, sent her a bit of money to help out. Enough to pay for all this and get her into her common room quite a few times. Normally she would've refused to accept but...it was Atticus. So she grudgingly kept the coins instead of sending them back.

With the five sickles paid, she looked over the available food. Hmm. What did she want, and how much? She'd noticed some of those stations had food at them, so she didn't want to have TOO much. Needed to save loads of room so she would be awesome at those stations, yeah?

Colley 07-04-2013 01:31 AM

Rule number one: ALWAYS go in the direction of food. Cat knew there was food around somewhere and she had been determined to find it, even if that did mean looking for food over anything or anyone else. She was supposed to be 'meeting' Mo, but hopefully he would put that big Ravenclaw brain of his to work and know to find the food.

Find the food, find the Cat. It was simple, really. One didn't exactly have to be a Ravenclaw to figure that out. Nope.

Cassirin 07-04-2013 01:31 AM

Mo could find food in the dark with a blindfold. Legless, armless, and wounded. He would find food. It was nice that this food here was on a fancy table waiting for him, but he would have found it regardless.

The harder thing to find was... certain people he'd hoped to run into by specifically telling them where he'd be and when. He shuffled along the table, giving the food longing looks before dropping 10 sickles into the jar. Just paying for himself and a friend was all.

Speaking of... Mo shuffled in the direction of Cat and gave her a side eye. "I already paid for the food. You want to try out those muddy cup things?"

For a moment Josephina wasn't sure she'd actually show up, but considering she WAS a Head of House and her prefects were the head boy and girl, she figured showing up would be preferential. Not to mention it'd probably be a good idea to make sure no one abused the privilege of being out-of-bounds.

Noting the sign about paying for the food, Fina dropped 5 sickles into the specified bin, not convinced she even wanted anything, but it was all in support of Hogwarts, wasn't it?

That was when she noticed a familiar fourth year Gryffindor standing there, gawking or surveying or ... something. "You know, you shouldn't gawk. People might think you're . . . . up to . . . . . . . . . . something." She was just looking out for the girl's well-being, honestly.

Oh, hey. There was that person she was supposed to be meeting. Cat gave Mo side eyes right back and wondered why he was doing it to begin with. "Fancy meeting you here." Not like it was planned or suggested at all, right? "You did? You didn't have to." Really, she hadn't been expecting that. "Next time we happen to be at the same food table at the same time, it's on me." Yep. Cat paused and then flashed a smile. "But thanks."

She eyed said mud cup things and shrugged. "I think they'd be more interesting if the worms were moving." See, maybe someone should have asked her for ideas, she was FULL of them. No, but really, this was all pretty cool. "What do you think the 'mud' is anyway?" She was pondering this when she spotted cupcakes. SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOREEEE.

With a gasp, she tugged on his arm and pointed. "Look, look! Cupcakes with EYES." WIN.

Kaiden headed towards the event, ready for some awesome things. After all, with the name, things should be scary. Not scary like girl things, but proper scary. He was also looking for a certain someone, because it would be fun to be scared together. And to maybe do some kissing. Spotting the girl's back up ahead, he grinned, and hurried to her, placing his hand on her shoulder. "Hey."

"Pudding," Mo guess, and he reached for one of them. It would be easier to talk when they both had food, since Mo was feeling unaccountably shy all of a sudden. Maybe it had to do with Cat, but it was more likely that it had to do with every one else. Apparently crowds were off-putting. It helped that Cat was smiling at him, and he smiled gamely back. "What sort of person would I be if I let you pay for yourself?"

Cat didn't seem interested in the pudding, though, so Mo left the little dirt cups there and moved on to cupcakes. That was... fitting, wasn't it? "Cupcakes are sort of your theme food now, aren't they?" And he retrieved one for both of them as he examined the games stretching off into the dark.

"You suppose you want to do any of those activity things?"

Hmm. Maybe pudding. Cat was still imagining wiggling worms though so she wasn't quite sure. Her attention had definitely been taken up by the cupcakes. There were three different kinds and the spider ones were kind of cool. "Not a bad one." She replied, taking a moment out of thinking about cupcakes to give him some attention.

She managed to restrain herself from making grabby hands at the cupcakes. She lifted her eyes to him after she had cupcake safely in her hands. "I think so, yep. I like all forms of cake, but cupcakes are my favorite." She grinned for reasons before looking off towards everything else. "I'm not quite sure what there is, actually. Food was the number one priority."

Cat was a girl after Mo's own heart with her preoccupation with food, although Mo supposed he'd be okay if she was a little preoccupied with him too. Maybe that was selfish, though... he shoved that down and focused on cramming half a cupcake into his mouth instead. CUPCAKES.

After he'd chewed and swallowed, Mo wiped his mouth with his sleeve and pointed to one of the darker patches on the grounds. "We could just stand around and watch other people have fun, I guess. It's funny to do Halloween-type stuff in March, isn't it?"

"There are loads of cupcakes, Cupcake. You can let me have one," Mo stuck out his tongue, now dyed from the icing, as he incorrectly interpreted her morose expression. What did inability to share cupcakes say about a girl? Selfish, or just focused?

Mo retrieved a cupcake and wrapped a napkin around it. Alice's cupcake. "I'm not sure... would it be messy, d'you think?" And now he sounded kind of lame with his inability to get messy PLUS he was holding a cupcake. It was not his day.
