As fearful as many of the Ravenclaws had been, their expressions were widely showing... disinterest in the dementors? A few seemed truly scared, but some just looked bored and annoyed and ready to go back to their party. So once the dementors were gone, James tried to make the transition an easy one. "Sorry about the little intermission there." Totally casual. She put away her wand nonchalantly. "Let the party resume. There's a mighty fine slip and slide there with all of your names on it." Especially Stone, who seemed to be the grump of the party even BEFORE the dementors showed up. "Go on." In the MEAN TIME... "I have some medals to award, also." The first medal she grabbed was Branxton's, but he had already taken off to the slide. She would do his last, then. "Ethan McCarthy, with his mighty fine reflexes and quick moves, was the school's second place Keeper this term! He racked up a total of SIX blocks!" Beaming, James beckoned the seventh year over and awarded him a shiny silver medal with Keeper gloves and a number two on the front, his name engraved on the back. "Your Captain, Miss Elise Fairfield, also showed her skills this term and probably made you glad to be on her team and not the target of her bludgers." At least, that was the way it was supposed to have been... "With a total of five bludger hits, Miss Fairfield took the second place Beater spot!" Waving Elise over, she looped the shiny silver medal - much like Ethan's, but with a bludger on the front and Elise's name on back - around the Captain's neck since her hands were quite occupied with the trophy. Branxton had returned from his trip on the slide now and James waved him over. Come, come. You're next. "And finally, Marcus Branxton here struck fear in the hearts of the opposing teams' Keepers all term. With his eight goals, Mister Branxton has solidified a spot as the second place Chaser this term!" Another silver medal, but this one had a quaffle on the front and the young man's name on the back. She awarded it to him proudly, giving him a nod of approval, before clapping her hands purposefully and backing toward the door. "That's all I've got - enjoy the rest of your celebration!" And... she didn't leave. She just casually leaned against the wall near the doorway and watched. Someone needed to make sure no one broke their necks on the slip and slide. |
"Party Crashers" Nigel murmured as the Dementors finally left. Now they could get back to the party. Nigel put a hand to his chin as we watched Mo go down the slide and hit the wall. Yes. Nigel did agree that they had to change the trajectory of it and Mo's idea was prefect. Nigel nodded and opened the door to the hallway and extended the Slide N' Slide through the door. Now the only thing left they could hit was non observant people. Then he warmed up the water a little like Dora said. Now it was time for a second run. Nigel walked back in the common room as Professor James was handing up trophies. Interesting. Nigel clapped along to the presentation and walked up to the boys dorm. Nigel stepped back to get a running start, ran, and jumped onto the slide head first. He rocketed down the stairs and through the common room. It was awesome. Was he got to the end of the slide he rolled through the hallway. Way to much awesome momentum. Nigel walked back into the common room, Drying himself of with the hot air charm, and said "Now the Slip N' Slide is perfect. No more hitting the wall." |
