Aidan was sleeping already. He'd been going to bed quite early lately. Just didn't FEEL like being awake and stuff. But, of course, going to bed early meant that he couldn't sleep through the night. So just a couple hours later, he woke up from what his body only recognized as a nap. And now he was in the predicament of what to do to get back to sleep.

He stumbled from the dorms into the common room, rubbing his eyes. It seemed most people had gone to bed already, but a few were still up. His captain included. Maybe she'd keep him company for a while?

"Hey, Elise," he greeted as he curled up in a nearby chair, still rubbing his sleepy eyes.

Adjusting her reading glasses again, Elise flipped a page. Somehow, she just still discovered new information every time she read the novel. Who wouldn't? Especially at the crucial moment where Travis had to choose whether or not to pull the plug on his wife. Kind of holding her breath, her fingers shook as she moved to flip another page. This muggle was good at writing, he was.

Just before her fingers could make it to do that task, she heard someone familiar greet her. WHO ON EARTH WAS THAT WHY WERE THEY EVEN AWAKE? Flailing slightly, she flung the book over the back of the chair and turned around to face the voice.

Oh. It was just Aidan.

"Hey,"
she grinned, summoning the book back with her wand. "How come you're up this late?" Especially since they had a game in the morning. Elise would not be held responsible for any injuries he might sustain due to lack of sleep. Though, then he might ask her the same question and she wouldn't be able to answer. Not very honestly, at least.

Elise's scare startled Aidan. As she flailed, so did he. It was WORSE cause she THREW HER BOOK!!! And only when she calmed down and got her book back, did he calm down.

Catching his breath again, and much more awake than before, he answered. "Just woke up," he shrugged. "You?" She was older, so she was allowed to. And CLEARLY she was reading, but wasn't she tired at all? She could read in her dorm, after all. But she wasn't.

Oh so he just woke up. Okay. At least he could sleep, right? "Right. Can't have you sleep-deprived. Not now." Because... match. In the morning. In case he forgot about that. "I was studying. Can't do it in the dorms without Bee trying to skin me alive." Obviously, she was on a break now but the stacks of parchment and History textbooks were enough evidence of hardcore studying.

Maybe she'd read enough to fall asleep... if she let herself. She didn't even really know if she wanted to sleep in the first place.

"I think I'll be over rested, if anything," he answered. Because all he wanted to do was sleep. And rest. And sleep. And mope. And sleep. And rest.

Except his heart was still racing a bit from Elise's episode a moment ago.

Aidan chuckled at her answer. "That's a good reason to study down here." Don't wanna mess with Beezus, no sir. He, for different reasons. Beezus liked to ruffle his hair and call him 'kid' and treat him like a child. Pfft.

"What're you reading? I think I'll get a book, too..." Maybe he'd read the same book? Or something similar? Or she had something to suggest? Or he'll just find something he would like on his own. He could always do that.

Nodding mutely at Aidan, Elise had to agree. An angry Beezus was a lethal one and that was one creature that nobody wanted to mess with. Oh, he wanted to know what she was reading now? Lifting the book to show him the cover, she grinned sheepishly. It was a cheesy muggle romance novel by Nicholas Sparks. Not that she didn't enjoy reading facts but sometimes a little fiction went a long way. "You do that," she nodded.

Maybe she'd even smooth her Gandr out a little bit. Casually stroking the wood, she tried to count the days since she'd taken the wood. If she'd counted it right, she was due to go on and start carving soon. Soon being in about two days.

Ethan's eyes were starting to droop as he continued to stare at his opened book. He wasn't even really reading anymore.. he was so exhausted from NEWT studying that he wasn't even processing anything anymore.. he didn't even know what day it was. He decided to shut his book and take a break for now. Maybe catch a quick nap.

He leaned back in his chair and took a cursory glance of the room. Spotting Aidan and Elise not too far away, he gave them an acknowledging nod and watch them for a minute to orient himself. Or wake up or something. Meh. He hated this dazed feeling caused by overstudying and not sleeping enough.

What was Elise doing? Oh.. smoothing her Gandr? That reminded Ethan.. had he done his today? He reached down in his messenger bag and pulled out his runic wand. He spent a little time smoothing it while he thought about what day it was.. still a couple weeks till he could begin carving, he thought. But he'd have to check his calendar to be sure.
