| | Professor Josephina Hadley's Suite
This particular room has served as an office to a number of different professors over the years. Some of which include revered professors such as Septima Vector, Bree Geltz, Kali O'hara, Lesley Modulo Fox, Matthias Pythagoras Wenlock, Onyx Xavier Frost, and of course, Macadrian Ashling Shackleton-Clark. With each new Professor that has made this office homey, Josephina is sure they each brought their own particular flair to its decorations to accommodate their tastes. Just as Josephina did when she first entered upon this room just several years ago now.
The walls have been painted a light blue-gray color and there are a handful of paintings hung around the room, giving off a rather comfortable aura. One of the paintings is a rendition repainted by Josephina, herself, of a canal near her hometown in Perugia, Italy. There is a framed miniature Italian flag, as well as a third painting of of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
As with typical office decorum, there is a large, polished wooden desk, that once belonged to each of her predecessors. There are a few neat stacks of papers and worksheets on the desk. There are also a few framed photographs sitting on her desk; one of Josephina posed with her two sisters, one of her parents, Nicole and Marcus, sitting on their couch. There's also a photograph of a baby girl, about toddler-aged, who will crawl around in the photo and maybe even disappear completely if you watch long enough, but have no fear, she'll be back! And an even more recent photograph, which you might recognize as your Herbology Professor with your Arithmancy one, taken on their recent trip to Italy. Behind the large wooden desk sits a black executive style chair. Directly on the other side of the desk - where visitors may sit - are two smaller black chairs, but still just as comfortable.
There's a bookcase on the left side, which contains various titles that Josephina collected over the years. Some these include, but are not limited to, The Complete Book of Numerology, New Theory of Numerology, Numerology and Gramatica, A Look Into The Future, and Olde and Forgotten Bewitchments and Charmes. There are also muggle classic books by Charles Dickens and Jane Austen, for which are a few of Fina's guilty pleasures.
Though the door is nearly always open, proper etiquette dictates knocking and addressing your identity before entering. Especially as Professor Hadley likely has her back to the door where she is playing with her puppy named Baisley or her kitten received from recent graduate, Lorelai Bristol, in which she conveniently named Bristol. Just entering without permission is rude and punishable with either point deduction and/or detention for being disrespectful. OOC: No, there is no waiting area, but please do not clog up this thread with useless chatter of 'waiting to enter'. Have your character knock and then wait for Professor Hadley to respond to either enter or to come back later.
There are plenty of places around the school that allow for chat with your friends; Professor Hadley's office is NOT the place for it and doing as such will be cause for appropriate discipline actions.
Any questions or concerns or appointment requests, please PM me. The door is CLOSED! |

Laura was glad that Minnie had agreed to come and see their head of house, she was a bit upset about what had happened with her friend in detention but she wasn't going to say anything Minnie had made it clear that she didn't want her too, so she would just come and go when Minnie and Hadley were settled, she didn't think her friend would want her interrupting anything, she was still unsure what to say about the Ethan part, she wanted to say something nice about it, like the fact, she would know if anything bad was happening to DJ because she would be able to feel it but unfortunately she couldn't, she felt like she had failed Minnie badly, because when she needed her most she hadn't done a good enough job.
Laura decided that she would wait for Minnie before knocking on Professor Hadley's door, it was important that Minnie was there, she was glad that she had been able to get Minnie to come because otherwise she would have felt a complete failure, at least now Hadley could help Minnie with some of her problems.

Minerva walked slowly with Laura taking a few deep breaths. She still wasn't sure if she wanted to talk to anyone about this. It was humiliating and she hated thinking about it. As a nervous habit she reached up to play with her non existing long hair. Reaching up and touching short hair, she really needed to charm it longer or just force herself to finish that potion, but finishing that potion scared her to death that Lafay was trying to poison her.
Stopping at the door she looked at Laura, "Maybe this wasn't such a good idea." She started having doubts. What is Hadley wasn't who she thought she was either. Minerva sighed she felt so confused on what to do. She need to just tell herself to suck it up and move on, but she couldn't and shuddered at the images still going through her mind. She should have just suggested they went to the kitchen and got some ice cream, but cringing the thought of ice cream brought back all the images as well. How could she feel sick from and really really want something at the same time.
Taking another breath she knocked on the door.

"It'll help you feel better about not knowing what you want to do with your life." She passed the bowl off to Sophie, not waiting for her to refuse.
Yes. OWLs this year. "You have several subjects that you seem to excel in though, yes? So even if you don't know what you want to do, that's okay. Because taking the exams for subjects you enjoy should be of benefit. There's still time to figure out what you want to do.... For example, what do you like?" Sophie smiled at her Head of House's response and watched as the older witch scooped ice cream and gave it to her, all too quickly, before Sophie could refuse. She wasn't the biggest ice cream fan like most of her friends seemed to be, but it would be rude to refuse it now that it was already served and right in front of her. "Thank you, professor." Sophie smiled again, taking the bowl and holding it on her lap.
The fifth year blinked confused at professor Hadley's remark about the ice cream helping her feel better about not knowing what to do with her life. Huh? Sophie had no idea what to think of this. She looked down at the ice cream and stared at it for a few seconds. What? o__O "Um, thank you." ....Okay then...
Several subjects Sophie excelled in? Several? "I'm not sure, professor." The girl started, playing with the spoon and making her ice cream a bit mushy, not really eating any of it for now. Taking exams of subjects she enjoyed would be a benefit... yeah, she agreed with that, though she didn't really love any other subject besides Charms. "I love Charms!" She replied smiling without hesitation. "I enjoy Transfiguration as well, but not as much as Charms." Sophie added, looking at the window while pondering. "Actually, I like anything that has spells involved. Like Defense Against the Dark Arts." Those kinds of spells could be fun too!
The Hufflepuff continued to poke the ice cream with the spoon and looked back at professor Hadley. "I still don't know what kind of career I want to follow, though, professor." And that was a bit frustrating, because both of her parents had always known what they wanted to be, even Mordred had known for many years now, and pretty much all of her friends, she was sure! But she had no clue. "I feel like I should be working towards what I want to be... professionally speaking, I mean. But I have no idea what I want! All I know is that I want it to have a lot of Charms involved." Sophie nodded her head, smiling, but feeling a bit strange. That was for sure an important topic!

Asher approached the door to his head of house holding a giant bowl of ice cream. To say he was nervous was an understatement. His hands were slightly shaking and there was a slight quiver in his young voice as he spoke "Um, Professor? Are you in there" he said after knocking.
Asher quietly waited outside her door for an answer...hoping she was in there.

Jory was more familiar with this Office than he had been with the others as he had made a few trips here. He wondered if Professor Hadley was busy. He could hear no talking though, so maybe she wasn't. Knock, Knock, Knock! The Puffer waited patiently for his Head of House to respond.

Please don't ask about the detention, Oakey was not going recount the details again. "I guess it's up to you all if you want to take the note seriously or not. To take action against poor eating habbits before practices and matches. I'm against all this Gummy Worm, and Ice Cream eating, and I see everyone eating it all the time...before Quidditch I mean." Hopefully that explained the note in more detail. "I am" Oakey responded somewhat disappointed in his answer. "I'm gonna work on my NEWTs around that career just as I did for my OWLs, but I'm not to fond of working for Gringott's anymore." can you blame him, his first head on experience with Goblins was with them reposessing their prefect bathroom soaps everything at Hogwarts. Rather rudely too. "Is ther anyway of still pursuing that career, and not having to work directly with the bank?" Oh. Last part of the detention, well that made sense. "Wouldn't soft foods be better before Quidditch?" Fina shrugged, but then shook her head. "Oh well, it doesn't matter anyway. Thank you though for your opinion. And you know, ice cream is actually high in calcium and vitamin D, since it's made from milk. Good for your bones." So really one shouldn't complain against the poor nutrition of ice cream, unless they wanted to complain about consumption of milk too. Gummy worms were another story; those were pure sugar. "Cursebreakers aren't limited to solely working with the Wizarding Bank, although they do employ the majority of cursebreakers. And there are other branches besides the one in London." You know, just so Oakey was aware and not limiting himself to only one location. "Might I suggest ... studying abroad in Cairo for a year or two at their Wizarding University? They've got an excellent curse-breaking program and I think you'd do quite well." Quote:

A smile, very wide smile. "True." It had worked, okay? That was amazing. And predictable, since she'd done it in class and all. Soooo, this talk of 'we'...did it include Lottie? If not, then she could totally be excused, right? Right. "Yup, exactly, I agree." Because that's what Airey said.
Once she was thanked, she nodded with a sweet smile, "No problem, Professor." And...this was sort of awkward, but it had to be brought up nicely, "So..may I be excused?" Well, Professor Hadley had the curtains and the banners, there was no need for Lottie anymore, right? So that was that then. Banners returned and all of a sudden, the room just got super awkward. "Yes, you may. Thank you again, Lottie.." She nodded at the young badger, as she set the box off to the side, making a mental note to researching their proper hangings later in the day. Quote:

Though there was another subject, too. "There's also, Ancient Runes as my next favorite.. so, I wasn't too sure on all of the career options with at least those two." Listening to Wade as he spoke of his interests, she nodded at him. Creatures and Runes .... "Well, you could always use one as a fall-back. Magical Creatures has loads of career options available to you, whether you're looking at studying the healing of magical creatures, which by the way, Runes might come into play with regards to healing. Or simply researching their behaviors and reactions. There's always just general care. If you're looking into dragons, there are reservations throughout much of Europe." She loved Charms and Transfiguration and Defense and anything with spells in it. "Well you know, Sophie," She started, stirring her own ice cream absently, as it thawed in her bowl. "If you like spells, one of the most hands-on and prestigious careers out there involving spells is an Auror or Hit Wizard. I think you're a bright witch who if you wanted to go for either of those, you could do it." "But also, you shouldn't feel pressured or frustrated choosing your career. I didn't know I was going to teach until several years after graduating Hogwarts." She bit her lower lip, contemplating what she was trying to say. "So really, all I'm trying to say is don't feel rushed or anything. Try your best on your exams and if worst comes to worst, there's always Wizarding University after Hogwarts in which you could explore a variety of options. Find your inner passions."
Hopefully that all made sense? Yes? Quote:

Because "Are you okay?'' was not the right thing to ask when everything was clearly not okay.
So, to the reason why he was here. Jory cleared his throat. He was not going to feel sad. No, he wouldn't. "Erm, I'm just here to thank you for everything, Professor. Nice lad, which made her feel even WORSE about her stammering and unable to produce a proper smile for the graduating badger. Wiping at her eyes, she swallowed and shook her head. What was wrong? Didn't he know?! It was just .... everything was wrong! Nothing was right. She couldn't do anything right anymore. She could barely even perform the simplest of spells, let alone the complicated ones. And that wasn't even all. She was just having these deep regrets.
And what was that? He was going off about something or other, her being awesome?! She was not awesome. "Don't kid yourself, Stonewall. I'm just .... I'm average." Wibble. "I'm nothing special, really, in fact I'm a bit of a boreeee.... and ..." Siiighhh, Deeply audible siighh. "Really. You're just. OH .... for meee?!? You're really just too kind. Thankk you." Fina bawled , accepting the gift, despite her thinking she didn't deserve it. She wasn't worthy of such nice things.

"It amazing ice cream, I hope you enjoy it." "So far I'm having a great first year. I've done most of my homework, and even think I'm passing my classes." He nodded as he spoke. "Oh, and ice cream is the best. I love ice cream. We should have more ice cream...like all the time."
He just stood there with a silly grin on his face. Asher hadn't thought of what else to say. He only wanted to share his treat with his head of house. After thinking a moment, Asher asked "Do you have any plans for the summer vacation?"
