This particular room has served as an office to a number of different professors over the years. Some of which include revered professors such as Septima Vector, Bree Geltz, Kali O'hara, Lesley Modulo Fox, Matthias Pythagoras Wenlock, Onyx Xavier Frost, and of course, Macadrian Ashling Shackleton-Clark. With each new Professor that has made this office homey, Josephina is sure they each brought their own particular flair to its decorations to accommodate their tastes. Just as Josephina did when she first entered upon this room just several years ago now.
The walls have been painted a light blue-gray color and there are a handful of paintings hung around the room, giving off a rather comfortable aura. One of the paintings is a rendition repainted by Josephina, herself, of a canal near her hometown in Perugia, Italy. There is a framed miniature Italian flag, as well as a third painting of of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
As with typical office decorum, there is a large, polished wooden desk, that once belonged to each of her predecessors. There are a few neat stacks of papers and worksheets on the desk. There are also a few framed photographs sitting on her desk; one of Josephina posed with her two sisters, one of her parents, Nicole and Marcus, sitting on their couch. There's also a photograph of a baby girl, about toddler-aged, who will crawl around in the photo and maybe even disappear completely if you watch long enough, but have no fear, she'll be back! And an even more recent photograph, which you might recognize as your Herbology Professor with your Arithmancy one, taken on their recent trip to Italy. Behind the large wooden desk sits a black executive style chair. Directly on the other side of the desk - where visitors may sit - are two smaller black chairs, but still just as comfortable.
There's a bookcase on the left side, which contains various titles that Josephina collected over the years. Some these include, but are not limited to, The Complete Book of Numerology, New Theory of Numerology, Numerology and Gramatica, A Look Into The Future, and Olde and Forgotten Bewitchments and Charmes. There are also muggle classic books by Charles Dickens and Jane Austen, for which are a few of Fina's guilty pleasures.
Though the door is nearly always open, proper etiquette dictates knocking and addressing your identity before entering. Especially as Professor Hadley likely has her back to the door where she is playing with her puppy named Baisley or her kitten received from recent graduate, Lorelai Bristol, in which she conveniently named Bristol. Just entering without permission is rude and punishable with either point deduction and/or detention for being disrespectful.
OOC: No, there is no waiting area, but please do not clog up this thread with useless chatter of 'waiting to enter'. Have your character knock and then wait for Professor Hadley to respond to either enter or to come back later.
There are plenty of places around the school that allow for chat with your friends; Professor Hadley's office is NOT the place for it and doing as such will be cause for appropriate discipline actions.

Minerva tried not to show to much worry while talking about the Healer, she did know she had to see her. “I plan on seeing her soon. Do you happen to know her hours now that she is only part time?” Yes knowing when she was there would be very helpful. Looking down a bit as her charm grade was brought up. There were a few grades she was not happy with, but that one was one of the bigger ones. “I’m very disappointed in myself with that charm score professor and know I need better. I had been advised to see Professor Knox about it, so I will be soon.” Her eyes lit up a bit when Hadley mentioned she could help as well. “Would you be willing to work with me professor?” Why wouldn’t she want the extra time with Hadley, she felt she could learn more than just confusing math calculations from her.
“Well I do hope you will be impressed with our work. We have worked pretty hard to get it clean.” It was going to be a term long job, she knew, but one that would have to be done. “Laura Hyde has been doing a lot of the cleaning in the dorms. She’s been a big help so far.” She knew her friend would probably hate that she brought up her name, but Laura was always getting in trouble since her first term, she needed recognized for doing something so thoughtful and helpful. “Oh I did see something about the badger buddy. I think it’s a great idea and have already signed up.” She was excited to see who her badger buddy would be.
So it seemed Hadley knew as much as Minerva bout Professor Magnus, or she just wasn’t saying if she did. Well that was that for that conversation. Noticing she was the one doing all the talking, Minerva gave a guilty smile, “Sorry Forrest and Nash, I didn’t mean to take up all the time.” Smiling at both of them as well as Hadley, “I probably should head out anyway, give you time to talk with our great new students.” She did think both Nash and Forrest were great and was happy to have them in her house.
North of Florida. Got it. "Oh, I have no idea really in Florida I was. Key East or North or West .... maybe." She chuckled. She hadn't really been paying much attention to where she was after the first day of the convention .... due to reasons she would not disclose.
Oh yes, there was that slight dilemma with visiting the healer this term to discuss career prospects. She bit her lower lip thoughtfully. "I have no idea. Doesn't she have her hours posted by the hospital wing? Or you could maybe owl her to arrange a time?" Should be easier than a cat-and-mouse chase. Ah yes, of course Min would like that; her helping her. "I wouldn't offer if I wasn't willing." She smiled at the sixth year. Or if she didn't think she was capable and charms, well charms, she was capable of assisting in. Now had it been plants, then she would have immediately - without a doubt - said no.
"Laura has been helping cleanup?" Hadley asked, sitting up straighter. Interesting. She would definitely be stopping by then.
Oh and that was that. Minerva was heading out then. "Alright then, dear. I'll be by the common room soon enough."

She barely heard what the young Ravenclaw was telling her as she became focused instead on the girl using her bowl of ice cream as an ice pack. Strange girl. Ravenclaws were weird. "Normally one consumes ice cream via their mouth, as opposed to osmosis through the forehead," Fina spoke nonchalantly. "But what did you do to your forehead, dear?"
Oh wait, had she said something before about extra Arithmancy tutoring? Starrrreeee. Yes, yes, surely she had and she hadn't just come to visit her because she wanted an ice cream bowl as an ice pack?
"I could tutor you. Or ... if you'd prefer a fellow student, might I suggest your Prefect, in fact. Beatrice, that is. She does have a good grasp on the subject and I'm fairly sure she'd be able to help you figure out your destiny numbers."

It seemed ... judging from the first year's expression, he was completely dumbfounded and shocked that a Wizarding School of the 21st century would not have such simple and everyday muggle devices.
"Mister Charlton..." she spoke again, considering her words wisely. "I'm not quite sure what you imagined this would be when you received your Hogwarts letter this past summer, but you should know that this century-old castle is an educational facility." That liked to enjoy their sweets, Fina thought delicately as she eyed her own bowl of creamy coldness."Inside this facility, muggle electronics do not function. With being able to perform and learn magic, we have access to a much ... broader spectrum of activities than simple television shows or video games. We don't need television for entertainment when we've got a wand ... and a broomstick." The latter for those who chose to fly.

He refused to hear the rest of 'Mister Charlton' because such sentences always ended BAD. And in a cocksure way too, because they would always implore that he was too silly to see the simple truth and logic.

"It'd take days for an owl to reach my family," he argued, finding some parts of his brain, "and I don't want television for entertainment. I want it for football." Football was not 'entertainment'. It was life.
Laura looked at Susan and gave a small smile. "You don't have to leave because of me." Laura then looked at Professor Hadley and sighed. "My summer was totally horrible, it was one of the worst one's I have ever had and it made me think about loads of things." Laura said truthfully. "I didn't spend a single day at home this summer, I sort of took off." Laura sighed, okay so that hadn't been the smartest move but things had gotten on top of her, "I can wait." Laura said weakly before looking at the ice-cream, she ate a bit of it then she stopped, she wasn't in the ice-cream sort of mood.
Susan smiled at the professor. Sue always enjoyed talking with the professor. Susan thought the professor had a motherly feel to her. Sue could probably tell her just about anything. Well almost everything. "My summer was pretty calm and uneventful. I spent sometime with my grandparents. My grandfather did teach me how to make wine on his vineyard. That was fun."

The girl stopped in front of the woman's office door and knocked a couple of times. She didn't announce who she was or anything because she had no idea whether professor Hadley was in the middle of something or not. Sophie didn't want to disturb anyone, after all.

Of course, giving the box to Professor Hadley was nothing. It was a promise she could definitely fulfill. Plus, she already knew the color-changing spell and had a few ideas in mind.

Hadley stood with her backside leaning up against desk as she faced the girls, listening to what Laura's dilemmas seemed to be this time. So she was .... defiant at home too? Not just at Hogwarts? Well that was interesting, to say the least. "Where did you go?" She asked casually, reaching to her side to have a spoonful of her own ice cream.

"Sometimes the calm is exactly what one needs after a year at Hogwarts though," Hadley felt the need to explain and comfort. "Embrace the calm and uneventful. You most likely needed it." Spent time at her grandparents though? That was .... interesting and kind of made her almost envious. Almost.

Distracted, she barely heard the knock on her door. Good thing the visitor knocked several times. Because by the third time, she looked up from the paragraph she had re-read about five times now and blinked. "Coming... coming!" she exclaimed, bounding up from her chair and crossed the room briskly to open the door. "Sophie! Hiii!! How are you? You look troubled. Come in, come in. Have a seat." She left the door opened for her, as she crossed back over to her desk.

So this was not going to be easy. This supposedly Professor Hadley was in fact stubborn to be boring and plain rude by questioning him about the necessity of football.
He certainly hadn't planned his FIRST EVER day in Hogwarts would be like this.
With tears of impatience and a broken heart, he just tried not to shake or be dramatic, but she had started it.
"I'll NEVER watch it!" he shouted (that was all he could summon while his mind raged about how SILLY she was) at the woman as his face was red due to all the pressure of containing tears, and he stormed out before she could reply.
Well, she had it coming. If he ever set foot in that office again!

She said with a smile, which was soon replaced by a surprised expression. Whoa, professor Hadley was good! "I'm good, thank you, professor! How are you?" The girl replied, following the older woman and turning to close the door behind her before taking a seat herself.
Okay, since professor Hadley had noticed that she was somewhat troubled, Sophie decided to go straight to the point. "Professor, I feel a bit silly because I'm in my fifth year already and I still have no idea what I'm going to do for the rest of my life!" The Hufflepuff told her, not quite realising what 'for the rest of her life' truly meant. "I mean, wasn't I supposed to know it by now since I'm taking OWLs this year??" She was!! She should know! But... she didn't!!

Lalalalala. She was actually glad that she didn't have to wait for long, though. Which is why Lottie entered Professor Hadley's office with a smile. A real sweet smile!
AND...look at that! More ice cream?! This was her lucky day, apparently. Heh.
"Good day, Professor!" BEAM! She clutched the box with her hands and closed the door behind her with one of her feet. "I hope you're not too busy, but I won't take long if you are," because there could be raspberry ice cream in the kitchen and she wanted to find out as soon as possible. For future ice cream gatherings and such.
So, she was currently taking the liberty to take a seat in front of her desk. And soon after that...went straight to the point. "Professor Flamsteed has asked me to return this to you, since it has served its purpose for the Astronomy homework," she nodded and gestured to the box, she didn't know if she should put it on her desk, or on the floor.

Well, Wade had been settling on some plans with his future. Now, the next step for him was to see his lovely Head of House, Professor Hadley. He had walked to the second floor towards her office. Just to make sure his grades and everything were in the clear, and hopefully to hear other helpful stuff.
Wade gave the closed door a couple distinct raps with his bare knuckle before stepping back to wait.
Just as she finished scooping out the final ice cream bowl for Nash and then another for herself (because she couldn't resist!), she heard another knock. Followed by an introduction of who it was - her former captain and current head girl. "Ness! Come in!" she called out excitedly. Because who was she to refuse more company, and the head girl at that?
At the permit, Nessie opened the door and gave her head of house a smile. It had been a while since she had seen her and it was pleasant to be in this office once more. Therefore Hadley got quite a few smiles her way.
It was scary to think that this would be the last year she would be able to visit this office, from then on the only possible way of keeping in touch with her Head of House was through owl or summer, which she didn't mind. Hadley deserved that, she was a good head of house and if anything Ness had learned a lot from her and her house.
"Hi, Professor." She gave a nod to add to her smiling. "How have you been?"
Hadley stood with her backside leaning up against desk as she faced the girls, listening to what Laura's dilemmas seemed to be this time. So she was .... defiant at home too? Not just at Hogwarts? Well that was interesting, to say the least. "Where did you go?" She asked casually, reaching to her side to have a spoonful of her own ice cream.
Laura looked at the Professor and sighed. "I needed time to think about things, so I went to Germany where some of my friends live." Laura really loved spending time with her muggle friends. "I got really upset about different things and I realised that I need to sort out my life." Laura couldn't believe what she had done in her young life so far.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Oakey's first stop to getting his lost points back from Professor Flamsteed, should, and would be to his Own Head of House. Noticing that that door was closed, and avoiding his normal routine of barging in on Professor Hadley, Oakey took the slip of paper he wrote out for each of the Staff that Flamsteed recomended he give this notice to, and slipped it under her door.

Josephina would have been lying if she said she expected outrage from a student at her suggestions. Let alone a first year. But the moment the young first year opened his mouth and shouted at her, she knew she'd lost for the moment. He was a stubborn muggleborn and though she never liked to categorize her students by blood, she couldn't help it in this case.
Instead, she simple stared after him, dumbfounded and at a loss. He would be back, she knew. She also knew he would come around eventually. Once he started attending classes. For now, she would let him cool off, because what other choice did she have?

How was she, did Sophie ask? Wasn't that obvious though? "Me? I'm great, actually, thanks for asking!" Couldn't have been in more of a good mood. "Did you want some ice cream dear? Here, have some..." she walked behind her desk and took out her small container, scooping some into a bowl for the fifth year. "It'll help you feel better about not knowing what you want to do with your life." She passed the bowl off to Sophie, not waiting for her to refuse.
Yes. OWLs this year. "You have several subjects that you seem to excel in though, yes? So even if you don't know what you want to do, that's okay. Because taking the exams for subjects you enjoy should be of benefit. There's still time to figure out what you want to do.... For example, what do you like?"

"I hope you're not too busy, but I won't take long if you are," because there could be raspberry ice cream in the kitchen and she wanted to find out as soon as possible. So, she was currently taking the liberty to take a seat in front of her desk. And soon after that...went straight to the point. "Professor Flamsteed has asked me to return this to you, since it has served its purpose for the Astronomy homework," she nodded and gestured to the box, she didn't know if she should put it on her desk, or on the floor.[/color]
"I've always got time for you and your housemates," Hadley nodded at Lottie, as she was clutching a box.
She blinked though in confusion when she explained her purpose for being there. "Return .... what is that?" Because she didn't know anything had been taken from her without her permission. "And ... who took that?" Because whoever took it was going to be severely penalized, maybe.

More knocks. Waiting a few moments, as she finished her train of thought on prepping for her next lesson, she glanced up from her parchment and stared at the door for another moment before speaking. "Come in, come in." She noted, flicking her wand at the door as it opened automatically.
"Oh! Wade! Hello, hello! How are you?! I've been meaning to ask you to drop by my office, so thank you." Saved her the trouble and whatnot. "What can I do for you today?"

Hearing a ruffling noise outside her office door, Hadley half-stood from her chair as she waited to see if the visitor was going to knock or anything. Nothing. Frowning, she glanced around anxiously and outside her window for good measure before back at the door. That was when her hazel eyes caught sight of parchment. Cautiously approaching, she squatted down and turned over the parchment to read. And then blinked in more surprise when she noted the signature at the bottom.
Was he SERIOUS?! Or was this some kind of joke?
Without a second thought, she pulled open the door and fully expected the corridor to be void of any student. But it wasn't.
"Oakey. You. That letter. Come in. Sit please." Because they had some talking to do and it would be less awkward with them both sitting in her office, then the seventh year standing outside.

Well, he thought she offered, she was only speaking a few words some what broken. "I can explain the letter a little more if you'd like Professor." No doubt she was confused about the situation. "I also wanted to discuss with you again on career options." Gringott's Curse Breaker was not sounding appealing at all after the Goblin repossesion that the bank did.

Excellent! The girl beamed and nodded. She still wasn't planning on staying too long, after doing what she needed to do, that is. She only hung out at Airey's office, it seems.
And maybe Botros if he fell asleep while she was in there.
Oooooh, "Professor Flamsteed didn't tell you?" of course not, he was doing this so she'll have to explain to Professor Hadley this whole incident. And without ice cream. GREAT. But she still smiled, because she'll be having ice cream soon. "Well, Professor, you see...there was an assignment for Astronomy involving a vacuum," nod, nod, totally true, "And I decided to perform the spell in the Common Room...though, I started in the dormitory...and it seems...," she opened the box, and decided it was a terrible idea to do so, because the yellow fabric came through the instant she did so, "...I may have focused too much, or the spell ended up being too strong...," she took one of the curtains sliiiightly out of the box so she could see, "...and it took away ALL the curtains of my bed. Also, a couple Hufflepuff banners that hung near the fireplace." She added the last sentence in a hurry.
But this whole thing had been an aaaaaaaaccident. Sort of.
"He asked that I returned this to the proper Head of House."NOD. As if she was a house elf or something.

Laura looked at the Professor and smiled. "I'm not sure, I found that you can't hide from the mistakes and you have to make sure you learn from your mistakes." Laura said truthfully, running away from her problems she had found out that it is import to keep calm and actually learn from mistakes.

"Better too strong than not strong enough." Hadley said in regards to her spell usage. "But yes, yes, we will need to put these back in the common room." Now she just has to figure out what spell is used on hanging them, because it's probably a particular one. A permanent sticking charm wouldn't be the most ideal, after all.

"Doing quite superb, actually, thank you." Hadley gave him a wide grin in return, as he took a seat before her.
Yes, very convenient indeed. Because he was one of the few newt students she hadn't had a chance to speak with on career intentions yet, if anything at all. "Yes. Eight owls, is that correct? Some fairly strong marks. Let's start here - was there any particular subject matter that you feel a strong connection to? As in, you both enjoy and could see yourself furthering your knowledge of this subject upon graduation?" In terms of careers it was always good to see where interests lined up with strengths.

Was he serious about the letter? Maybe in terms of getting the points he lost back from Flamsteed for... well barfing on him. "It's just the last part of the detention I had to serve. Professor Flamsteed asked me to deliver a letter to you all about the dangers of soft foods before Quidditch." Please don't ask about the detention, Oakey was not going recount the details again. "I guess it's up to you all if you want to take the note seriously or not. To take action against poor eating habbits before practices and matches. I'm against all this Gummy Worm, and Ice Cream eating, and I see everyone eating it all the time...before Quidditch I mean." Hopefully that explained the note in more detail.
"I am" Oakey responded somewhat disappointed in his answer. "I'm gonna work on my NEWTs around that career just as I did for my OWLs, but I'm not to fond of working for Gringott's anymore." can you blame him, his first head on experience with Goblins was with them reposessing their prefect bathroom soaps everything at Hogwarts. Rather rudely too. "Is ther anyway of still pursuing that career, and not having to work directly with the bank?"
"Yes that is very true, you do have to learn from your mistakes. Because hiding from them will only get you so far and eventually everything will come out to get you." Hadley agreed.
Laura smiled at the Professor. "I know Professor, I also found out that even if you don't agree with an adults instruction, they give you them for a reason and most of the time it's because they want you to stay safe, they aren't spoiling your fun, they just don't want to see people hurt." Laura said truthfully. "That's why this term, I've made it a goal of mine to get over 100 house points, do my best in my owls and not get a detention." Laura said truthfully, she wasn't sure what her Head of house would think but that was her aim and so far she was doing good, she hadn't got a detention once this term.

Well, that was a surprise, she had expected Airey to discuss his super awesome assignments and their results with the rest of the Staff. What exactly went on in Staff meetings, then? Those were probably super boring, then.
And she didn't feel the need to find out boring stuff. History of Magic exists for a reason.
A smile, very wide smile. "True." It had worked, okay? That was amazing. And predictable, since she'd done it in class and all. Soooo, this talk of 'we'...did it include Lottie? If not, then she could totally be excused, right? Right. "Yup, exactly, I agree." Because that's what Airey said.
Once she was thanked, she nodded with a sweet smile, "No problem, Professor." And...this was sort of awkward, but it had to be brought up nicely, "So..may I be excused?" Well, Professor Hadley had the curtains and the banners, there was no need for Lottie anymore, right?

So far, so good for Wade. He was already happy with his OWL results, save one class in particular that he wished he achieved an 'O' in. But his visit with his house head, Professor Hadley put him more at ease with his future. Now then, for his interests."Well, I do love Care of Magical Creatures, I had been doing side-reading on hippogriffs ever since my winning bid to ride one last year." Though there was another subject, too. "There's also, Ancient Runes as my next favorite.. so, I wasn't too sure on all of the career options with at least those two."
