In the corner of the classroom sits a filing cabinet with a hanging file for each student that desires to study Arithmancy. Each student's personal hanging file could contain as much information, or as little, as is their preference.
The basic premise is that it will contain calculations, textbook explanations, and even interpretations of your personal Arithmancy numbers to be shared with your classmates and professor. Once your character graduates or leaves the School RP, for whatever reason, the papers contained within the file will be moved to a new home in the book.
