So... this was... becoming a little boring. The boy had crawled, what, thaaaaat much now and he had still found nothing. Plus his hands and knees were really starting to ache. Maybe that was why babies cried so much. MAYBE they were sick of crawling around and... and...

... This was too much thinking.

He stopped and sat down there, completely giving up on this search. Maybe he could just... go and make some pancakes and then go and study some Charms work. He did need to try that ice cream spell out on another type of foo--

BLINK. How did he not... Alec whipped out his wand and stared at it, as if he was looking at it for the very first time. "I have... a wand. This is a wand!" Why didn't he just... accio his watch?

Shaking his head at his own stupidity, Alec got up and dusted himself off. It seemed as though the place was still quite messy and dusty from the beginning of the term. ... The beginning of the term... that seemed like it had been light-years ago! And it seemed like... a lot of things had happened this past term. Like the appearance of the turnstiles, and then the repo goblins and... yeah... no one was going to forget about the dementor attacks anytime soon.

The Hufflepuff cleared his throat and held up his wand. Accio. Simple spell. And he was just going to accio his watch, yeah? It wasn't as if something... bad could happen from that.

"Accio watch!"

Come on, watch, you can't hide forever!

AR project post #22

We're painting the Gandr red! We're painting the Gandr red!

Not pink!

Not green!

Not aquamarine!

WE'RE PAINTING THE GANDR REEEEEEEEEEEEED.

Well, technically just the runes, but stiiiiiiiiill. Tobias had the Tiver that had been sent to him along with a little paintbrush. He obviously hadn't brought these things from home; instead the school owl he'd sent with the request to his grandfather had arrived a week or so ago, so now he was all prepared.

This part took a lot less time than the carving, even though he was still softly singing the runes under his breath as he painted them. Tobias took his time, wanting everything to be absolutely perfect. He didn't know if he was making enough noise to bother anyone else in the common room but by the time he'd thought of that, he was painting the red pigment over the last of the runes.

A cursory glance over the entire Gandr was enough to tell him he'd painted over all the runes, and Tobias realised he was ready to the next step.

Figuring he would tidy up when he got back, Tobias got up and bounded out of the common room up towards the Ancient Runes classroom. The breeze from his running would probably be enough to dry up the red pigment he'd been painting over the runes.
