The Badgers, reigning House champions, and third place Quidditch Cup finishers, slightly dusty gold and black banner representing their house. The place settings are the same as those from the start-of-term feast, since not all students can be trusted to remember their Dixie plates, Solo cups, and plastic silverware. Enjoy the food!
Minerva listened as Kace talked about his family. The words sounded so familiar. She remembered Belle saying pretty much the same things, plus the cookies were amazing. “Belle sent me cookies this term. They were great. So if everything else is that could I could only imagine.” She looked away at his question trying to not show him the frown that was on her face. “Well.. Kace.. I don’t really have family to go home to. I do.. because I live with my grandparents, but I guess it has never really been the same. I’m surprised Belle didn’t mention that to you.” She looked at the first year again. It wasn’t that she couldn’t talk to people about her family she could, just in the mood she had been in lately she found it harder. “But to answer your question, yes I think my grandparents are ready to see me.” Was that the original question….
Oh she sent Minnie some cookies? He wondered where his was. "Hmm i might have to complain to Belle saying where my cookies were." he joked with Minnie with a smile. "But i am glad you enjoyed them. They are a secret recipe winner whenever we have family get togethers[/B]." Then he noticed her turning and he wondered why. But then she was talking again.
There was no shame in living with your grandparents. He thought that was pretty cool! "Oh no she never mentioned it to me. I guess she felt that was private information for you or something." he shrugged innocently. "Well i am glad they will be happy to see you. I am sure they missed you! Will you come visit Kansas sometime?" he asked eagerly with bright eyes.
SPOILER!!: Marigold! <3

She thought for a moment of inviting him over for a day, but this summer her parents decided to keep it low key and family based. "Okay! Tell me when you are going to Diagon Alley. Umm..." Marigold searched in her bag for a piece of parchment and a quill, which she used to scribble her address on. "Here. Any mail, muggle or owl, will arrive here. Since my mom's a muggle, we have post to our house," she explained.
Oh her birthday was June 14th? He would make a mental note. "I will make a note of that. My birthday is near the end of the winter." he winked just to let her know she had a while. He was the little baby of the family.
He heard her explanation and he nodded. "Oh don't worry my dad is a muggle. He is so used to OWLS coming to our house now. It is like second nature." he joked with Marigold. "I will tell you when i am going to Diagon Alley for sure!" he nodded to her. Then he took her quill and scribbled his address on the paper. "Here is my address....promise to write?" he held out his pinky.

Because he won't want to bother the young Puffer with unnecessary stuff. "Great idea! And maybe sometime you can visit me?'' He loved having friends over and his parents did not mind so it would be no problem. "I hope you are,'' Jory added with another nod. "And nope I never was. I just preferred to watch.'' Besides, Hufflepuff always had the best team each year.
"Yeah i would love to hear how it goes! I am curious to know!" he told Jory his eyes widening with curiosity. He smiled when he said he could visit him. "Umm...where do you live?" he asked. He didn't wanna sound rude but he had to know incase he wanted to visit him.
So he was a side watcher. Nothing wrong with that. Kace smiled and said, "Well we always need an audience." he piped in optimistically.
SPOILER!!: Ronnie! <3

Kace was gonna miss Ronnie. She was his butterfly buddy after all. Then he asked her, "So Ronnie what are you planning on doing this summer?"
Just elephant it is. "I guess it's a perfect name." He grinned, and fought for a moment to keep the same grin and nod, but he failed. His grin was shadowed with that question because he'd remembered Sonea.
"Yeah I'm--fine." He tried to shrug casually. "She's the only bully so far, so that's good." While Sonea was just as cruel, she was only one so really it was fine. At least there weren't about five of her like in his previous school. Plus, he had the family of Hufflepuff now. His heart swelled with pride again and he quickly turned to Tobias to avoid any emotional silliness.
Wait Tobias what are you doing. He was supposed to be his save haven from emotions, yet he was talking all this cool stuff and trying his best to make him explode with all the good feelings.
He gasped and a moment later, his face was shining enough to illuminate the whole hall.
"'Course I'd love to hang out!" he exclaimed as soon as he could talk. "We normally live in Saudi Arabia due to my father's job but all our relatives live in England and I can stay with one of them at worst we'll shop for school but we have a house in London too I'll pester my mom to stay here and--" Oh he'd already said too much. He had drowned him with his excitement, hadn't he? He looked way too enthusiastic about this and what if Tobias backed out now? What if he was overwhelmed with his enthusiasm and...
...no. Surely he did want to hang out really? He'd helped him with Sonea the Bully! Forrest held his breath and examined his friend.
...please don't freak out Tobias?
As Forrest answered Ella, Tobias' eyes narrowed slightly and he started to glance around towards the Sonea girl before deciding against it. His friend had just out and out said that she was a bully, and bullies were not okay. Though Toby knew not to take matters into his own hands, it didn't stop him from dwelling on the matter. Tobias wanted to make absolutely sure that Forrest was not singled out again.
Tobias thought vaguely about that time when they'd built the snowman, and Forrest had phrased a question with the term mudblood. Had THAT been the girl who'd said it, bearing in mind that she was the only bully... or had there been someone else?
Maybe, for now at least, they should just focus on the feast and the food and the prospect of the summer holidays.
He soon got something to think about anyway, because the Headmistress began the speech. It obviously wasn't a happy one, and Tobias decided to not pay attention when she spoke about sad stuff, focusing instead on the fact that he would no longer have to pay to enter his own common room or eat. So that was good, right?
And then there was skipping, and Tobias was confused, so he turned back to Forrest again, whose expression had changed somewhat since before the speech, and the twelve year old finally was able to respond.
"But yeah, that's awesome, right? We can totally hang out. I mean Diagon Alley is there all summer, if all else fails, you know? You should write to me and let me know what you're doing, and we can arrange something and it'll be brilliant, yeah?" Tobias nodded as he finished speaking, and made a mental note to write down his address for Forrest when they got back to the dormitory, just in case he had to use snail mail. Saudi Arabia was quite far, right? Even if Forrest DID have an owl.
And yeah, Ella had a brilliant idea too.

Tobias smiled. Like properly smiled. He was definitely starting to feel better.
"Yeah, yeah let's totally do that. It'd be well fun. And... actually," Tobias looked thoughtful for a moment and turned to look at Ella. She was a fifth year. OWL year. AND she was big on Quidditch, being captain and all. "Maybe you can help me out with something. Like advice with stuff?"
Slightly out of the blue but ohhhhhh well.

There was a slight silence in which Ness thought about Tobias growing up. Second Year huh? He'd always be an ickle in her head and maybe that was because she didn't want to feel old when he grew up some, but he didn't need to know she thought that.
Those words. They stung in an odd way, almost in a warm way. "I'll miss you too." She murmured at him quietly.
Tobias nodded his head instantly. Yes. He knew it would be probably quite impossible to owl every day, and in any case it would soon eventually go down to every week... every month... maybe. Because they'd both be DOING stuff, y'know?
But that didn't stop him agreeing now. If he believed it, it would make the whole 7th-years-leaving thing less difficult.
The first year looked at Ness for a moment after she spoke, and didn't move. Didn't speak. But then, still not speaking, Toby got up and moved around to where Ness was, and sat and gave her a BIG hug.
A Tobias hug.
You know the one.

Forrest was impressed with Kace's summer plans. It sounded as if KAce wouldn't sit down for a minute, whereas he would be stuck in Saudi Arabia. He had TONS of questions, but it would be rude to ask, so...
"My father works in Saudi Arabia, that's where I'll spend the most of the holiday," he said as he eyed a distant student distractedly. "Then we'll come to DA to shop... and that's it." He shrugged. "Cruise sounds so cool though!"
-----------
Forrest nodded at Ella shyly. He would rather deal with Sonea alone for man pride reasons, but he would keep that in mind. Ella was captain after all, and Sonea feared authority, he'd noted.
Meeting up as a group! That sounded fantastic! He beamed at them. "Yes, we should meet!" It didn't matter now whether they met or not. Ella did want to hang out with him, and that was all that mattered.
He busied himself with getting some food on his plate, because he wouldn't be able to bear to look into Tobias' eyes if he quit meeting.
But he didn't. Instead, he said if all else failed, they would certainly meet in DA. Forrest grinned then again, and lay his half-full plate down in front of him.
"Yes sure, I'll write to you. Or I'll phone--." But he was a pureblood, albeit from squibs. He wouldn't have a telephone. Forrest flushed and stuttered. "You--you don't have phone, do you? Do you know what it is?" Like, at least?

Phone calls! That was a much better idea.
Tobias gave a small good-natured chuckle at Forrest's question. "Yeah, we do have a phone," he said with a mini-grin. "'Cause I was raised muggle and stuff. And my parents can't communicate with magic." Toby had no idea what owls were like around them, but since they had phone calls and emails, he supposed owl post was never really necessary. It had totally surprised him when his grandfather told him about it. "I'll give you my home number after the feast. Won't it cost loads of money though?"
Food. That was what Tobias needed. Lots of food. And then tomorrow he could buy loads of sweets from the food trolley with all the money he had leftover from the coins he'd been sent to use with the turnstiles.

Oh, great! Tobias knew what a phone was. Forrest remembered he was raised like a muggle, but he didn't know to the extent of using muggle technology. He exhaled and smiled sheepishly.
"No, there are cards to call abroad cheaply. Plus I think they company's paying some of the telephone bill." He shrugged to show he didn't know well though. His parents'd just never told him to keep his phone-calls short when he called his muggle friends.
With everything settled, he leaned over his plate and began to eat more happily than ever.
