In preparation for the looking Hogseade Plant Sale, the second homework task is set up in greenhouse seven. The coloured pots containing Umbrella Flower and Immature Fanged Geraniums and Honking Daffodil shoots are set up to one side of the long oak table, providing plenty of room for students to complete their homework task.
Medium sized pots are stacked up on the floor beside the end of the table, a sack of potting soil and a bucket of dragon dung keeping are positioned beside it. A number of blank tags are situated on the table beside a box of pink, orange and purple Puffapod seeds.
The blackboard has been dusted off and bore the appropriate instructions for anybody who should need them.

Jory was expecting to see students at the Workshop already at work but when he got there he was surprised to see that it was empty. He decided a few would probably some along soon enough. He turned his attention to the workshop. There were umbrella flowers,Fanged Geraniums and Honking daffodils. And the pots they had to use as well as some tags. And there were the instructions! Good. Because Jory did not want to use incorrect methods. He pulled on his dragon hide gloves.
The Puffer grabbed one of the pots from the floor and headed over to the potting soil. Using a trowel, he scooped some of the soil into the pot until it was halfway full.
Natalie entered the workshop, still feeling excited for the plant sale. She quickly put her gloves on and turned her attention to the board, in which the professor has written instructions for them. Good, she thought, because if there weren't any I would not be able to do them.
After writing the steps down on her parchment notebook, she set to work on her workstation. She recognised the other student from her house, and he is looks very, very tall upclose.
"Hello," she started, as she hates to work in total silence unless she is very excited. She then took one of the pots and filled half of it with the potting soil provided.
As Kace made his way to do the Herbology homework, he saw two puffs already there at the workshop. Kace smiled to both and of them and waved at his fellow housemates. "Hey guys fancy meeting you guys here out of all places." After he dropped his bag at his desired workspace, he saw the board and copied down the notes into his notebook.
He got his pot from the room and name-tags to use, he got a trowel to use and got the soil and then filled his pot halfway with potting soil. Then he forgot to put his gloves on. Well he got them from his bag and put them on before he started anything else.

Jory had just placed his pot on the table when he heard footsteps. Turning he saw a young girl. Probably first year. He had seen her around, especially in the common room. "Hello, there!'' he said. At least he had some company. The Puffer was about to turn his attention back to the blackboard when he saw another familiar face. Little Kace! "Hiya, Kace!'' He liked this kid. He was really hardworking.
Jory looked back at the board. "Drop seed from five feet,'' he read. That was easy enough. He averaged the five feet height. "A little higher...No, too high. Lower...Right!'' With the fragile side of the seed, he released.
Instantly, the seed burst into a full bloom plant. Jory never got over how incredible that seed was. He was still looking at the plant on the ground when he heard another voice and looked around. Another firstie! "Hi Marigold,'' he said. "I'm Jory.'' This seemed to be an all Puff workshop right now.
"Hello!" Natalie said to everybody who said hello. As the 'Jory' guy have mentioned his and Kace's names, she didn't bother asking their names. Apparently only Puffs were compelled to do homework, and she actually felt okay with that. "I'm Natalie," she introduced herself to her fellow Huffie firstie. "Nice to meet you!"
She then turned her head to the board, reading the next steps. Fragile perimeter? She examined her seed carefully. It must mean the edge of the shell-like thingy, she thought. Nat didn't want to look stupid in front of the other students, so she went with her feelings and continued anyway.
Nat put the seed in her hands, Her arms are parallel with the floor. Being five-foot-half, she feels safe just dropping the seed like that. She made sure that the shell-edge thingies are facing the soil...and she was right to do that.
Right after the the seed touches the ground, it burst into a very, very, ridiculously pink flower. Natalie was shocked, she did not expect it to be that fast. The plant was so bright it hurt her eyes (she hates pink). She stared at it, a bit in disgust, before continuing.
Marigold skipped into the greenhouse with a grin on her face. She looked and saw there were other students there, too.
"Hi, I'm Marigold." Just in case they wanted to chat a bit.
Oooh... the instructions. Marigold took a lovely pot and filled it halfway with dirt. Fun fun fun.
As Kace was working on filling his pot with soil, he noticed another puff coming in. Her name was Marigold. That was an interesting name, it reminded him of the flower. "Hi Marigold, i am Kace." he held out his hand for her to shake. "Nice to meet you."
Then after he was talking to Marigold he noticed Jory talking to him and he turned his head.
SPOILER!!: Jory!

"Hiya Jory is it?" he asked to double check. "Sorry i am just bad with remembering names...well so many names." he grinned. He was glad there was an older puff here if he needed help with questions and all that. "Herbology is an interesting class huh?" he asked to start conversation.
SPOILER!!: Natalie!

Kace was happy to be meeting all these new and old puffs but he needed to get back to work. He smiled at Natalie. "Hi Natalie, i hope to see you around the common room sometime." He looked at the board and noticed what he had to do. He already filled his pot up and then he wrote the rest of the steps into his notebook

Potting Puffapods
[1] Fill the pot halfway with potting soil.
[2] Drop your Puffapod seed from five feet, fragile perimeter facing down. (dropping it on the floor is best, for the appropriate impact, do not throw the seed!)
[3] Pick up your bloomed Puffapod and shake out the roots gently before placing it into the pot.
[4] Fill the hole back in and pat it down gently.
[5] Water your puffapod.
[6] Fertilize it with Hippogriff dung fertilizer.
[7] Write your name, house and year on a tag and stick it in the soil. Clean up your workspace.
So he had to throw the seed onto the floor? Hmm..that was an interesting requirement. He shrugged and did it anyways. He put his gloves on, he dropped the seed from five feet...Three...two...one...FALL. It feel onto the ground and he hoped it did something.
Then it BLOOMED. Wooahh now that was neat. He never experienced anything like that before. It was quite nice and the flower looked gorgeous. So now he had to shake out the roots gently. He could do that. He picked up the flower delicately and shook the roots out. It seemed like an easy chore.

SPOILER!!: Kace!
"Hiya Jory is it?" he asked to double check. "Sorry i am just bad with remembering names...well so many names." he grinned. He was glad there was an older puff here if he needed help with questions and all that. "Herbology is an interesting class huh?" he asked to start conversation.
Jory watched as the firsties got to work. They were all so cool, taking such interest in the work. "Yup, I'm Jory,'' he replied to Kace. He grinned ''Don't worry about it. You'll remember everyone's names.'' Even Jory had had that problem when he first came to Hogwarts. "Really interesting,'' he added with a nod. "It's one of my favorite subjects. So, how do you like it at Hogwarts?'' He remembered Kace's sister, Belle. She was also hardworking.
As the Puffer conversed with Kace, he also continued working on the task at hand. Gently he grasped the Puffapod plant and shook out the roots. He set it down in the center of the pot, into the hole he had dug. Now, using the soil he had dug away, Jory filled back the hole so that the soil held the plant's roots. He patted it down for more firmness.

Marigold was happy to be with such AWESOME if you asked her other puffs. She smiled her customary grin at them before going back to the instructions.
She picked up the puffapod, and went on her tiptoes so it fell on the floor. It cracked open, revealing a flower. Ooh.. pretty. So Marigold picked it up, shook out the roots, and placed it gently into the pot.

Kace was happy to be meeting all these new and old puffs but he needed to get back to work. He smiled at Natalie. "Hi Natalie, i hope to see you around the common room sometime." He looked at the board and noticed what he had to do. He already filled his pot up and then he wrote the rest of the steps into his notebook.
"I hope to see you too," she replied. "So...how have you been?" Because Natalie works best when she's talking to somebody, and who doesn't like the company of chat?
Natalie pick up the hot-pink seed from the ground. She especially hates the colour pink for no reason. She just hates it, that's all. Nat shook the roots of the plant gently, then she placed it in the pot. She filled up the pot until it's full, then she pat the soil like what the instructions had told her.

With her turquoise gloves on, Seren waddled into the greenhouse only to be confronted by a group of Hufflepuffs...
Er...
Had she forgotten to post the notices in the other common rooms? Or were the Badgers just eager? And judging by the points standings, eager wasn't a bad explanation. They were real go-getters.
"Helllloooo," she chirped by way of greeting, then she mozied over to have a look at how the fanged geraniums were going.
Sarah was all ready for business. Well, it was real business now as they were selling it and all. She had all her supplies on her as she walked in and looked up on the board. Those were great instructions so she took out her notebook and added it to them. Soon she was done and the real work should begin.
She took a pot and with the help of a spade filled it half way. She was becoming more confident with this whole measuring thing. It was strange that she felt less pressurized when measuring htings in herbology then she felt when she measured things in potions. Maybe that was because if she mismeasured in Herbology the repercussions would not be so bad.
She was busy patting her soil down when the professor waddled in. “Hi Professor!
she chirped back “I like these Puffapods, although they might people to expect instant gratification in all areas of life” Sarah said thoughtfully. It was so normal for Sarah to voice comments like that, as for Sarah a moment wihtout thinking or moralising was a moment wasted.

Elise was in reality just tired from all the mad amount of work that came with having a game in less than two weeks and her arm still hurt. The bone probably hadn't finished setting and she had been putting far too much pressure on it with NEWT-level coursework and homework assignments and beating and life in general. So hoping to calm herself down a little, she made her way to the Herbology workshop to do her homework assignment. Only, when she entered, it was just a blur of yellow.
What was this, Badger Attack?
Reaching for her glasses and putting them on and slipping them back off almost immediately, she sighed. It was Badger attack. So she'd just have to sit there and attempt to break the monotony of yellow. She'd start off with taking a nice medium-sized pot and filling it halfway with soil.
So now she was meant to do the long-drop... um well not really. Seeing as Sarah was only 5 foot 1 she did not really call her height long. Using a longdrop was done over a cliff or something.Anyways... Sarah put the pot on the floor and then turned her attention to the seeds. What colour should she choose? Purple and pink were her favourite colours while orange was reserved as her gag colour. It just did not appeal to her. Maybe because it did not really suit her as much as purple and pink did.
She wondered how the colour of the seeds would effect it anyway? Well,as purple flowers were rarer then pink Sarah decided to choose purple. She leaned over the pot, her hand holding the seed was one inch from the top of her then she brough her hand to eye level, she needed to find out what they meant by fragile perimeter? She felt around and examined until she finally understood. Then she brought her hand to the place it was before and dropped it. She hoped it fell into the pot.

Hop. Skip. Hop. HOP.
This was clearly the only way to travel when one was headed down to the greenhouse to get some Herbology homework done. She'd kinda been putting it off for a bit in favour of staying in the kitchen and eating ice-cream but she figured it'd have to get done at some point and by some point, she meant before the Hogsmeade sale.
"Hello Professor!" BEAM. Because she was the first person Alexa noticed once she entered. Oh, but you know what else she noticed?? A whole bunch of puffers.. You'd think they planned this all or something. Maybe they did. Maybe more would show up. So many maybes. That was just how unpredictable that set was.
Lex made her way over to the end of the table and grabbed a pot. Oooo, it looked like everything was at the end of the table! Neat!
Let's see...get the pot half filled. Sigh. She kinda missed that 3/4 measurement.

Sophie made her way to the Greenhouses thinking about all those nice looking Puffapod seeds. She loved them because they were always so colourful and pretty. It was also quite fun and beautiful when someone dropped them on the ground, but she never mentioned that out loud. Hehe.
"Oh, hello!" The Hufflepuff greeted everyone that was already there working. That was a quite nice bunch of people, huh? Cool! That would sure make the task more fun!
Smiling, the badger put on her gloves and walked over to a random place in the workstation. "Hiiii!" She beamed at the person that was closest to her now, which happened to be Alexa! "Long time no see!" Sorta. How long ago was the hourglass incident again?
Checking the blackboard, Sophie placed a pot right in front of her and filled it half way through with soil. This also made her smile, since anything to do with plants and earth and getting dirty in general reminded her of her mother.
The girl glanced at the blackboard again and her mouth dropped open. The were being ASKED to purposely drop the seeds on the ground????
Beeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmm! That was surely going to be an amazing homework! Woooo!

There was no point in dwelling on the 3/4 that would never be. For some reason puffapods didn't like that measurement (clearly that was it) and she'd have to respect that. Weird plant. Just when she was coming to accept that measurement for what it was!
Lex reached into her pocket and pulled out her gloves then slipped them on. The Professor was just over there and probably would have had a problem with her working without them. Right then, onto the work--
SOPHIE!!!
"Hai!!!" GRIN. Ah hah! She knew there would be more puffs showing up! It was like a feeling--no, it was the inevitable. They were everywhere and they popped up like rabbits or hamsters!!! Nodnodnod. "It has been ages, I take it the goblin got away with the Emeralds?" She left before Sophie did so the girl would have seen more than she had.
While she spoke she got to filling the pot until it was half full. Half; the nerve of it all. Next, she was meant to drop the seed? Just drop it? "Neat, we can just drop 'em." And she did. After picking up her seed she let it go and watched it fall to the floor. Plant care. Riiiiight.

"Yeah, they did." Sophie shrugged. "At least no one got hurt." So it was all good, really. "That sword was mental... I'm not a bit fan of Goblins... and their swords." From stories she had heard about them and how evil those creatures could be...! Eeeep, just the thought sent shivers down Sophie's spine!
The girl eyed the beautiful Puffapod seeds and spent a few moments trying to decide which one she wanted. They were all sooooo prettyyyy!! "Yeah, you just drop them!!" She beeeamed once again. That was her favourite part! It was SO lovely!
Before she grabbed a seed of her own, she watched Alexa drop hers and smiled widely as it bloomed. "I love these seeds! They were always one of my favourites!" What with blooming so fast and beautifully!
Hmmmm.... purple it would be! "I'll go with this one!" She said as she reached and held a pretty, purple Puffapod seed. She ran her hand around it to feel where the fragile perimeter was and aimed it downwards. "Goodbye, purple seed!" Heh! And she dropped it at her feet.
It was like maaaaagiiiiic!!!! Ohwait. Of course it was. "This is so beautiful!!!" Sophie said in delight, not being able to take her eyes off the pretty flowers at her feet. "I wish we could spend the day just dropping these!" The badger grinned as she bent down to get the bloomed seed and looked around it to spot the roots. "They are so beautiful, aren't they??? Merlin!" Meeeerliiiiin!

"The sword was AMAZING!!! I bet it's real sharp being able to cut through the glass like that!!!" Lex grinned at the memory. After that night she was a whole lot richer with all the gems she lifted from the goblins bag. You think it would have noticed too but it didn't and she wasn't about to complain!
"And how come you're not??" Just a curious question as she watched her seed blooming prettifully.
Oooooooo!!!
Lex bent and picked up her puffapod plant. "That'd be neat if we could!!" She agreed, imagining them dropping seed after seed and watching them burst with brilliance and colour. That wasn't why they were here though so unfortunately they would have to move on. She began shaking hers gently and watched the roots flop out. Coooool!
"I wonder if all the other goblins had swords. Do you think they did??" Aidan would have been happy to hear that. Alexa put the bloomed puffapod into the pot and proceeded to cover it up, giving it a few pats when she was done. There! Nice and snug in the soil!

Minerva almost skipped into the greenhouse. She was feeling very energetic and very happy at the moment. Most likely because she was going to be doing more work along side of her plant boy boyfriend. She wasn't sure if it was him or if she was just starting to enjoy being around the plants more. Either way she was happy to get to plant more things. This was becoming fun.
As she walked into the greenhouse she looked around, no Ethan yet. Well that was alright she would get her things and wait for him. Setting down her bag she pulled out her gloves, no reason to get herself dirty.
Next she went over and grabbed one of the pots. Going back and grabbing her gloves Min put them on and walked herself and her pot to the soil. Filling her pot half way. Once she had that done she went back to her work station and checked the black board.

Time for Herbology homework.. the one class that Ethan didn’t actually feel like it was work and was eager to do it. He hadn’t planted any puffapods in a while and was somewhat looking forward to it. Besides, he’d be working alongside his girlfriend again which not only meant that he would he get to spend time with her, but he’d also be able to further share his interests with her again.
Walking into Greenhouse Seven, he stopped as he was greeted with an influx of yellow, thinking for a moment that he had wandered into the Hufflepuff common room. There were certainly a lot of badgers here, not that it bothered him, just struck him as funny.. no wonder they were in the lead for the house cup. He smiled and nodded at the few that he was acquainted with as he walked through, then spotted Professor Bentley up ahead. “Hi, Professor,” he grinned at the woman, mentally reminding himself that he needed to make an appointment to see her.. and soon, by the looks of it. Oh and there was Elise getting down to work too. “Hey, Captain.. how’s that arm?” he asked pausing for a moment by her workstation. Hopefully it was healed.. they needed to get practicing.
And then he spotted his favorite girl up ahead. Looked like she had already gotten started too.. he smiled to himself about how eager she seemed to be over working here today. “Hey, Min..” he said with a grin as he approached the workstation and set his things down. “Ready to get to work?” He pulled on his gloves and grabbed one of the pots from the floor and took his hand spade to scoop the potting soil from the bag and into the pot, stopping once it was halfway full.

"Helllloooo," she chirped by way of greeting, then she mozied over to have a look at how the fanged geraniums were going.
Jory looked around at the sound of another greeting. Was it another student come to work? A Puffer, perhaps? Nope! It was Professor Bentley checking in. "Hi, Professor! And her little one!'' One could not simply ignore the Professor's child when greeting her.
Back to work now. Jory grabbed his wand. He had to give this plant some water. But not too much! "Aguamenti!'' And there went the water! Into the pot and around the roots. He gave just enough water without making the soil all muddy. Just like they had learnt in class.
Now, the Puffer took a pinch of dragon dung fertilizer and scattered it all around the plant's roots. Just one thing left to do.
As Kace was talking with Jory he realized he wasn't the only one. He felt relieved that he wasn't the only one that couldn't remember names that well. As he was shaking the roots out. Plus he said he liked Herbology and it was his fav subject. Huh...maybe this guy can help him out. Jory asked how he was liking hogwarts. Kace nodded at his question. "Yeah i love it a lot! I am loving all the new classes and homework. Plus i am on the quidditch team so it helps meeting new friends." he grinned.
As he was about to begin the next steps, he saw Natalie talking to him. He smiled and said "I have been really well! I am on the quidditch team and i played in our first game and I am finding this subject interesting don't you?" he asked still shaking out the roots. He hoped Natalie didn't think he was clumsy or anything. Plus she was a cute girl to talk to. He always got nervous around cute girls....Good thing she didn't read his thoughts.
Then he noticed the Professor come in. Kace lifted his head up and he was now done shaking the root. "Hello Professor! Nice to see you." he smiled and then he went back to look at his list.
SPOILER!!: Notebook
Potting Puffapods [1] Fill the pot halfway with potting soil. [2] Drop your Puffapod seed from five feet, fragile perimeter facing down. (dropping it on the floor is best, for the appropriate impact, do not throw the seed!) [3] Pick up your bloomed Puffapod and shake out the roots gently before placing it into the pot.
[4] Fill the hole back in and pat it down gently.
[5] Water your puffapod.
[6] Fertilize it with Hippogriff dung fertilizer.
[7] Write your name, house and year on a tag and stick it in the soil. Clean up your workspace.
So he crossed off the first 3. Now what did the 4th step say....He had to fill the whole back in and pat it gently. He could do that. He put the puffapod into the hole very delicately. He had his gloves on as an extra precaution. It seemed the flower liked his touch. He was glad because the last thing he wanted was a plant that was vicious. As he put into the hale, he pat it down on top of it. It seemed snuggled in there. Now he had to find the watering can and fertilizer.....
