Never thought you'd hear that again, did you? This time, though, the familiar call seems to be nothing more than an echo, as the groundskeeper is not actually keeping watch over the little boats tied to Hogwarts' dock. Perhaps the Hogwarts staff feels that their newest graduates are more than capable of sending themselves off?
The same fleet of magical boats that carried you to the school as a firstie still bob gently on the dark, deep lake, waiting for your departure. Two graduates per boat, please, and be careful not to tip over. The boat will take off once you release its rope from the dock.
Enjoy your last trip across the Black Lake, and be mindful of Barty.

Soo, two graduates per boat.
Ronnie called Jory, kay guys? Heh.
She stood at the dock while she waited for her boyfriend, staring blankly at the boats, remembering the night she had road them across the water to Hogwarts. Swallowing hard, she let a few tears slide down her cheeks, and her throat go dry. This was it. These boats would take her away from her home for good, and she'd never come back. Ever. Turning to face the castle, she stared longingly at it. How she wished for a teensy bit more time. The school corridors. The Great Hall. The classes. Friends. Professors. Her Oliver. It hit her like a bludger, it was all slipping away too quickly. She bit the side of her cheek hard to keep herself from crying but she couldn't help it, and there she went, sobbing away on the dock all by herself.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
The graduation boats eh?
Daichi looked down at the boats as they waited for the passengers to get in. Weren't these boats the same as when he had been a first year? Great Hogwarts...thank you very much for more nostalgic moments!
As the Prefect waited at the dock, he looked around and found Ronnie standing near one of the boats. He waved at the girl but didn't walked up to her. She'd probably wanted to sit with Jory anyways so he found another boat and climbed inside.
As he sat down, Daichi ran his hand through his hair as he looked up at the huge castle behind him. It was the last time he was going to see it and the graduate had to blink his eyes rapidly not to cry. He was a man! and men didn't cry on the outside, only in their hearts!
Pretending he had something in his eye, the Slytherin then searched the dock for the other students to come. Who would want to sit with him in the boat?

He didn't mind as long as it wasn't Dylan...
So.. graduation boats. While he thought he sort of got the symbolism in using the same boats that the first years did upon their first arrival, Ethan wasn't so sure he wanted to get to the station that way. Was it mandatory? He was completely set on riding the carriages back with Minerva anyway, but she seemed to insist as she mumbled something about going with Ariana before she tore away. He'd see her on the train anyway.
As he neared the lake, the new graduate was fairly intent on riding in one of the boats by himself, mainly to be alone with the thoughts that had been slowly pushing to the forefront of his mind the last week or so, becoming even more prevalent at the feast. But, as he approached with his Siamese trailing behind him, green eyes fell on the people already there. Ronnie appeared to be quite melancholy, not that he blamed her, it was somewhat bittersweet to be leaving for good. "Hi, Ronnie," he greeted her softly to not disturb her too much from her own thoughts as she seemed to be on the verge of tears. He didn't know her all that well, but wasn't sure now was the time to change that.. he was sure she was waiting for Jory anyway.
The 18 year old made his way to get into a boat when he saw Daichi sitting alone. Making the decision to join him, he veered his path towards the Slytherin. He always thought Daichi was a decent bloke, even with the ice cream issues, which he was rather glad the boy had been cured. Ethan was sure he didn't know how hard he had tried to help him and the others from that affliction and he didn't feel the need to say anything now. Time to put the term and its madness behind them. "Hey, Daichi," he said as he tentatively put a foot in the boat, doing his best not to rock it. These things were tiny, they were meant to fit two grown men? "You don't mind, do you?" He climbed fully in, sitting next to the other boy and his cat jumped in after him, curling up on his lap.

Thank Merlin no one was around...yet.
Jory slowly made his way towards the graduation boats. He was walking that slowly because he was looking all around, taking in everything that he probably would not be seeing for a very long time.
He still could not believe it was all over. Seven years had gone by so quickly. Where had the time gone? Still, he was leaving with a lot of great memories. The memories of the friends he made, the Professors he had gotten to know, the awesome lessons and even the unusual stuff that happened at Hogwarts.
Jory finally made it to the boats. Only Ronnie, Ethan and Daichi were there. "Hey, Daichi,'' he called out to his friend. He still remembered the first time they actually spoke to each other. It had been a Herbology class and they had partnered up for the class. "Hi, Ethan.''
Now he moved over towards Ronnie. "Hey Rons.'' He could see she had been crying; there were tear stains on her face. Jory forced a smile and put an arm around her. He couldn't say anything but he knew how she felt.

He climbed fully in, sitting next to the other boy and his cat jumped in after him, curling up on his lap.
Turning his gaze away from the castle that was still in view, Daichi's brown eyes fell on Ethan as he stepped inside the boat with him. A small, almost sad smile became visible on his face and the Slytherin shook his head. No, he wouldn't mind. He was glad that someone wanted to be in the same boat as him. Ever since that syrup he had this sad feeling that no one liked him. Which was not true, he knew in the back of his mind that there were a few people who liked him but he kept feeling down.
Plus, add the fact that this last boat trip was going to be very sentimental for him. "I feel strange sitting here..." he suddenly said in a soft voice though loud enough for Ethan to hear him. "It feels strange leaving this place and i keep having the feeling its just a dream and i'll soon wake up in the dormitory to start classes" He'd never thought he was going to miss school...
Hearing another voice calling his name, Daichi waved his hand in Jory's direction before he watched him go to his girlfriend. At least they were graduating together right? Unlike the Ravenclaw who was leaving a certain Hufflepuff behind.
With a loud sigh, the Slytherin Prefect bit his lower lip and glanced at his bag that he had with him. He glanced towards the Ravenclaw before opening the bag and took out the plush duck, Mr.Duckles. Like the cat on Ethan's lap, Daichi placed the stuffed animal on his own and then laughed a little. "I had this plushy on my lap when i first sat in one of these boats as a first year going to Hogwarts..i want to leave this place like this as well"
He then flashed the other Prefect a look and narrowed his eyes. "If you laugh i'll hex you and push you in the Lake" and then he smiled again.
You see, to Renesmee, this was really the last time she would look at Hogwarts as a student. The last time she'd ever be here as one. Never again could she come here as a first year or a third year or any year. She could only come back here as alumni, a past student that was only left with two things. One. Memories of a school lifetime. Two. The lesson and skills required to move on.
Moving on...that..that would be hard, but would have to happen at some point. Maybe after the summer when things would really kick in but right now she didn't want to let go. And so she stared at the castle for quite some time, not even putting a foot in the boat she had once seven years ago arrived in. She barely even noticed the others already there.
Right now she was absorbing. Absorbing all she had left of this place before it was gone.
Farewell Hogwarts, those seven years were to never be forgotten.

Ethan gave Elise a few distracted strokes on her back as he turned to look behind him. It was becoming more and more real for him that he was really leaving and not coming back.. well, he'd be back for events open to the public as much as he could attend, but as for being here every day for the better part of a year, this was it. He had tried to fight the sad for so long, but he couldn't help it forcing it's way to his mind.
He tore his eyes away from the castle for a moment as he heard his name. Giving Jory a faint smile, he lifted his fingers in a casual wave before the departing Hufflepuff went to join his girlfriend, then he turned his eyes on Daichi, hearing his soft words. Swallowing hard, he nodded lightly in agreement. "It is somewhat surreal, isn't it? Almost hard to believe that this is it.. we're moving on to something else." But he had to accept the fact that he wouldn't be coming back here in September.. he was done with Hogwarts as far as being a student was concerned. "What are your.. plans?" It was interesting to know what his yearmates planned on doing after school was done.. right? And the small talk seemed to make it less sad somehow.. maybe it had been a good idea not to get in the boat alone.
The Ravenclaw looked back at the castle again as it grew smaller with the boat drifting forward. So many memories filled that moment before he tore his eyes away.. And when he looked back at Daichi, the boy had a plush duck on his lap. Ethan grinned at the toy, chuckling a bit at the explanation. Then he snapped his eyes up to the other boy's. "Oh.. no, I wasn't laughing like making fun of you.. it's just.. I appreciate the nostalgia.. I have an eagle plushy Minerva gave me for my birthday, you know." He mirrored Daichi's smile before looking down at his own lap and petting his cat again, wondering if it would be so much harder for the other boy leaving having been here seven years in contrast to Ethan's three.

Ronnie then heard more students coming, so she slowly started to calm down and quickly wiped her tears away just as Daichi showed up and waved at her. She waved back at him, smiling a little. I can give it to you on the train?" she asked, cocking her head slightly.

Next came Ethan. Ronnie hadn't quite talked to him at all this year, which was sad, really. She had liked him, he was fun to be around and easy to talk to. They'd have to hang out at some point this summer, then hopefully. "Hi, Ethan." she said with a small smile as he joined her and Daichi on the dock. Now, where was Jory? She glanced behind the two boys and saw him making his way down to the dock and smiled a little more widely.

Ronnie wrapped her boyfriend in a hug as soon as he walked up to her. "Hello," she said into his shirt and she squeezed him tighter. Now, this was what she needed. This made her feel lots better, hugging her boyfriend tight. Then the red head took his hand in hers, and she glanced at the boats and then back at him. "You ready?" she asked quietly.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

What his plans were. Had he asked this a few months earlier he would have broken down crying, not knowing what his plans in the future were but after some talking with one of the Professor's he knew what he wanted to do.
As the castle got smaller and smaller, the Slytherin let out a long sigh before turning his gaze towards Ethan. Should he tell him about his true destiny... okay that sounded dramatic. And even after some quick thinking he decided against telling him he was going to see a psychiatrist. That was his little secret that no one had to know...well, except for Professor Flamsteed who knew about it but he had sworn not to tell anyone.
And if he did , Daichi would come back to school and confront him yush!
"I...i really want to work in the muggle world" he finally answered with a small smile. "A clothing store or something. I know its small but ..i dont know" he scratched the back of his neck. "What are your plans?"
Daichi tried to flash a glare towards the Ravenclaw, he really did when he grinned but he didn't even need a mirror to know that it had failed. Instead, he pouted and held the plush duck closer against his chest as if defending it. But...Ethan wasn't laughing at him... Daichi blinked his eyes before grinning widely. The grin widened even more when Ethan told him about the eagle plushy. "Aww that's so cute! You're going to miss Minnie huh? I know she misses you already. She'd been crying the whole time i spoke her at the Pathways" Merlin, had that been an awkward conversation. Daichi was always awkward when people cried, like...what on earth should he do about it?

Eh?
Daichi looked away from Ethan and towards the other boat when he heard his name being called. Seeing Ronnie waving at him, the Slytherin leaned a little closer to hear her words, dangerously hanging closer over the edge of the boat. "What?!" he shouted. "What's with the front gate?!"
Seriously...what was she saying?
"Tell me in the train, i can't hear you well!" Either he was becoming deaf or she just needed to shout louder.
